[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109158] slower loading of a huge AutoCorrect replacement table

there's an important performance regression since the 6.2.x branch.

trying to load large autocorrect replacement tables such as the one in
attachment 134684 causes freezing in LibO 6.2.0 and 6.2.3 final releases

that list can be loaded with no problems in latest 6.1.5 release.

this means that the autocorrect replacement table load option is completely
broken in 6.2.x so I have to raise the importance of this bug report.

this bug block upgrading from 6.1.x to 6.2.x to all users with large
autocorrect lists.

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

2. Choose "Tools" - "Options", in the LibreOffice section choose
"Personalization"
3. Choose "Own Theme" and click "Select Theme"
4. Change the item in the Category dropdown menu. No results are found with
any Category.
5. Paste the URL of a specified Firefox theme (for example,
https://addons.mozilla.org/en/firefox/addon/tattoo-passion_27/) in the upper
box and click "Find", no results found either.

Actual Results:

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

Excel file named "Password issue"

Hello,
Attached is a file I just created in Excel. It requires the password 123456 to
open the file, and requires the password 654321 to leave Read Only mode to edit
the file. This works correctly in Excel. When I try to open the file in
LibreOffice Calc, the password 123456 is asked for to open the file, but if I
choose Edit Mode from the Edit menu, I can double click in a cell like B1 and
enter information without being asked to enter the password 654321 to exit Read
Only mode and enter Edit Mode to edit the document. Thanks for looking into
this. Great suite of programs.
Best,
David

The file operations which, if called while an LO file is open, guarantee crash

It may be noted, however, that this is a very serious bug with which LO 6.1.5

The caption requires a frame so the request is to have the initial frame width
like the page width (and not scale the image). I would expect "relative size"
and 100% does the trick but doesn't. Regina, any idea?

Second part is about the paragraph style "Figure" that is applied to above the
image and not the caption text. Reason here is that the figure that has no
break nor is anchored as character. I don't see a solution.

  Reporter: pedl...@gmail.com

LibreOffice 6.1.6.3 was installed on Ubuntu 16.04.5 x64 by extracting the DEBS
folder and running sudo dpkg -i *.deb in Terminal.
No Help package was installed.

Steps to reproduce:

Looks like the stock UI icons used on Windows are old Industrial/Galaxy, maybe?
Or something earlier...

But IIUC don't think the button's assigned icons (image1 - gtk-go-up, image2 -
gtk-go-down, image3 - gtk-go-forward, image4 - gtk-go-back) come from UI
[1][2], rather they're linked from source. Where they are mapped to stock
SymbolType [3]. And I've no idea how the icon theme for os/DE gets picked up
for use there--if it can.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124644] Template manager broken since version 6.2.2.1 for Linux

2019-05-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124644

well, yes the behavior should be fixed in LO.

But when I have a look closer at the contents of user-dirs.dirs, it looks very
much like this file was added later.
On my notebook
XDG_TEMPLATE_DIR="$Home/Vorlagen"  the directory Vorlagen exists.
On my workstation
XDG_TEMPLATE_DIR="$Home/" there is no Vorlagen or Template directory.

Assuming that an OS-upgrade step adding the user-dirs.dirs file is propably
also analysing the existing directory structure - it is not finding "Vorlagen"
or "Templates" directory and therefor not adding the subdirectory to "$HOME/".
Maybe it will be a good idea to create the subdirectory and add it to the end
of XDG_TEMPLATE_DIR ...

regards

Peter

Don't think this is a bug of JDBC-Connector. The query-GUI should first test if
there is a nested query. If not it should send the query directly to the
database through the connector. Why is it send directly?

Bug ID: 125206
Summary: Edit mode password required in Excel is bypassed in

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: david.gen...@du.edu

Description:
I created a file in Excel that requires a password to open the file and another
password to leave read-only mode and edit the file. When I use this same file
in Libre Calc, I am required to enter the password to open the file, but am
allowed to enter Edit mode without entering a second password to leave
read-only mode and edit the file. Is this a bug or does Calc only require one
password to open as well as edit a file?

Actual Results:
Open a file with the two passwords listed above

Expected Results:
One password opens and allows edit. This should not happen.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

There are performance improvements being committed all the time, see for
example the latest QA report:
https://qa.blog.documentfoundation.org/2019/05/07/qa-report-april-2019/

The thing is, a developer cannot fix something they cannot see. An example
document is thus necessary.

Would be interesting, if you could test with a fresh master, which has all
sorts of improvements, also for image handling:

--- Comment #9 from Dr. Matthias Weisser ---
I still have several different performance problems with LO.

The problem is that those problems are only there when the memory is somehow
low.

When the laptop is newly started all is ok. So this is not so easy to replicate
- but surely there are problems !!!

I do not see such problems with older and less memory hungry programs.

No problem at all using PaintShop Pro. No problem using Eagle 5.12. No problem
using Dreamweaver 4.

More than a year ago I told that it seems to me that LO got too huge. I have
also seen loss of performance with newer versions.

If this stays that way I am sorry to hope find a smaller program able to read
my odt files with the 14 books I made. I am very sorry - but I am more and more
frustrated now seeing that things are getting bigger and bigger but less
performance instead of more.

Yes - I really like working - but not with less and less performance and
spurious problems that nobody can find and fix. I know how hard it can be
finding such a problem. But anyway its not a solution waiting for just bigger
code now and less performance as I have seen in the past.

with mariadb 10.3 built for ubuntu 19.04 (disco).

With mariadb jdbc (/usr/share/javamariadb-java-client-2.4.0.jar) and using
org.mariadb.jdbc.Driver the problem is still present.

I still don't seem to have any MySQL(Native) connector as a database connection
choice, even if I install the libreoffice-mysql-connector.

Hi,

I installed version 6.2.3.2 and checked on it, and same problem remain.
Attached are example files. So, .odt file is as it should look like
(date/number format in our app). Files .ods are converted using macro that say
LO to save it as .xls. Ones with sufix _EN are generated when regional settings
set as United States, and with sufix _SL when set as Slovenia. So, we have
native interface to generate ODT/ODS, so sent files are exact match. Also in
our app I can generate reports in different formats, XLS is generated as
explained, and there problem starts.

Hope this helps.. Regards, Nikola.

Thanks, Timur. Note that my bug report contains two bug issues which are
connected to each other. According to me, the issue "Obsolete text of figure
caption is shown in Table of Figures" is not covered by bug 48534.

Another drawback of anchoring images "To paragraph" by default is that this
makes them harder to select by keyboard users. In other words, this issue is
also an accessibility issue.
The Accessible Digital Office Document (ADOD) Project recommends anchoring
images "As Character" : https://adod.idrc.ocadu.ca/oowriter#tech4

Anonymised generic grades table as test case

Sorry, that it took so long to provide the requested test case. I just now
managed to find some time to anonymise fully the grades table. I observed the
repeated crashes of Libreoffice Calc while editing the cells in the "Feedback"
column of table "Project". Thanks you for looking into this bug report! I hope
that you can localise and fix the source of the crashes!

Title should be specific. So far, it's "Function “Reply Comment” should be
consistent in Edit menu and drop-down menu".
We had two opinions. First was that self-reply should be possible and that
self-reply should not be possible (what's the use in replying to your own
comments?). I'm in favor of the first because you may write something on a
different date and want to see that).
But anyway, we need consistency in Edit menu and drop-down menu regardless
where the cursor is.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125205] New: Spreadsheet cell padding is not saved/preserved

2019-05-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125205

Bug ID: 125205
Summary: Spreadsheet cell padding is not saved/preserved
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stde...@gmail.com

Description:
*Disclaimer: Replication details might be sketchy, since I've seen the bug so
many times, and in so many "ways" to manifest*

I am creating a spreadsheet xlt template (cannot attach it, apologies), and I
am setting padding of all cells to 1pt. Also, I am creating a custom style with
the same 1pt. I save the file, include it in "My Templates", and close it.

Regardless if I open it for editing, or create a new file out of it (and save
as xlsx): the padding setting is not preserved, file is "stuck" on 2pt

Earliest Affected Version might be way off, since I used to see it with the
stock Ubuntu 16.04 one

==
Version: 6.2.3.2

Expected Results:
Obvious: Formatting is saved and shown

Reproducible: Always

We always need to know whether XLSX was created in MSO (but this one cannot be
open!) or in LO (we don't need it, rather we need source ODS).
Please clarify, make sure you write exact steps to reproduce (not just what you
see as a final problem) and set back as Unconfirmed.

It is not possible to describe, that a frame should be centered to the outer
page margin because the distinction between even and odd is not made directly
in the attribute but indirectly via the style:horizontal-pos attribute (section
20.290) https://goo.gl/KyvnZF

Ajku, seems that this bug is similar to Bug 125094 in terms of your lack of
understanding how formatting works.
Please educate yourself on different direct and style formatting. And on
Ctrl+M.
If you're not really sure what you're doing, you shouldn't use MS formats for
saving and copying formatted contents.
I'll close as Not a bug.

Looks like user error, not a bug.
Cells P5 and P7 have character format. If cleared, font changes.

Oliver, please do not confirm behavior (if not understanding the reason), it's
bug that needs to be confirmed.
