[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120695] FILEOPEN unixODBC connection to sqlite database not working

2019-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120695

--- Comment #22 from verlata  ---
Just(In reply to Heinz Repp from comment #21)
> To be clear: the bug is STILL PRESENT in the latest Libreoffice 6.2.3 on
> Windows 10 64bit: when opening an odb file that has a ODBC database
> connection to an sqlite3 database file via Ch. Werner's sqliteodbc driver,
> all tables appear empty.
>

An additional note: the "uncheck Respect the result set type from the database
driver" workaround works only inside a session: even if you uncheck and save,
next time you reopen the odb file all tables appear empty and you have to
uncheck again.

(using 6.2.4 amd_64 on debian)

2019-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124752

--- Comment #9 from Tor Lillqvist  ---
Anyway, last evening I worked on clipboard code for iOS, and hopefully today or
early next week it will work, and then at least the Edit > Copy and Edit >
Paste menu entries should work as expected, and hopefully be able to copy and
paste also images and perhaps even other kinds of data (like HTML snippets)
to/from the iOS clipboard. (The paste button on the on-screen keyboard, or the
Cmd-C and Cmd-V shortcuts won't necessarily be able to copy or paste anything
else than text, though. Will see.)

Note that kendy's commit was in the context of "normal" Online, where the
JavaScript code that the user interacts with is running in the user's browser,
while the LibreOffice core code is running on a server. The "internal"
clipboard in that case would be inside the process on the server serving the
document being edited. In the iOS app case both the JavaScript and the "server"
code are part of the app.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121618] VIEWING: When the document displays !broken!! instead of the correct text, writer can lock up

2019-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121618

--- Comment #12 from Luke Kendall  ---
Huh - it appears that typing TAB executed a SAVE instead of inserting a tab. I
shouldn't be surprised.

What I was about to type was

if ( count < 0 || beginIndex < 0 || beginIndex + count > pFrom->length )
{
assert(false); // fail fast at least in debug builds
IMPL_RTL_STRINGNAME( newFromLiteral )( ppThis, "!!br0ken!!", 10, 0 );
return;
}

should change to something like:

if ( count < 0 || beginIndex < 0 || beginIndex + count > pFrom->length )
{
const static char *b1 = "!!br0ken!!(1.1)", *b2 = "!!br0ken!!(1.2)", *b3
= "!!br0ken!!(1.3)";
assert(false); // fail fast at least in debug builds
IMPL_RTL_STRINGNAME( newFromLiteral )( ppThis, (count < 0 ? b1 :
(beginIndex < 0 ? b2 : b3)), 10, 0 );
return;
}

Instrumenting the code so an accurate user error report gives you more
information would in general make bug reporting and fixing easier for all
concerned. It would probably be worth the effort to start gradually doing
that.

How great would it be to have semantic editors where you could instruct the
editor to look for semantics and adjust the code for you according to a
semantic restructuring pattern you described? A programmer-assistive
technology still 50 years away, maybe? :-)

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121618

--- Comment #11 from Luke Kendall  ---
It might be related I suppose.
But I only run spell check very infrequently.
In my case I think it happened by simply changing a word in the text.

I have one strong suggestion, and that is to change all the occurrences of the
string !br0ken!! with a unique string across the source, at least !br0ken!!(1),
!br0ken!!(2) etc. so the place in the source can be pinpointed.

Also, looking at the sample source in 117155 around the assert, and thinking of
the problems that occurred for me after !br0ken!! appeared in my text, when not
in debug mode perhaps a warning panel should be raised to the user to warn them
to save the document and quit, and that the doc may have become corrupted?

Finally, regarding pinpoint the place in the code but also providing even more
detail, I suggest it would be worth the few extra bytes of code to change

if ( count < 0 || beginIndex < 0 || beginIndex + count > pFrom->length )
{
assert(false); // fail fast at least in debug builds
IMPL_RTL_STRINGNAME( newFromLiteral )( ppThis, "!!br0ken!!", 10, 0 );
return;
}

to something like:

if ( count < 0 || beginIndex < 0 || beginIndex + count > pFrom->length )
{

assert(false); // fail fast at least in debug builds
IMPL_RTL_STRINGNAME( newFromLiteral )( ppThis, "!!br0ken!!", 10, 0 );
return;
}

--- Comment #19 from QA Administrators  ---
Dear sareneathenodny,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Dear Bastián Díaz,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Dear Jim Avera,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 31398] RFE: LibreOffice Base should allow update/insert/drop query in sql-editor with hsqldb access controls

2019-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31398

--- Comment #16 from coll...@ieee.org ---
repeated test, some improvement.

LibreO_6.1.5.2 (tested on linux) has same results as described in comment9
where update query fails to run and embedded hsqldb database is not updated.

however repeating the test with an embedded firebird_db is an improvement as
described below.

LibreO_6.1.6.3 (tested on macos) using an embedded firebird_db (instead of
hsqldb)
still gives errors, BUT the Table Gets Updated :')

(as before the query wont save unless select "Run SQL command Directly" button
on the far right of query toolbar)

the error generated by running the saved update query is

"The data content could not be loaded."
"Error code: 1"
"firebird_sdbc error: Cursor is not open
 caused by isc_dsql_fetch"

despite the error, the saved update query did indeed update the table
which is confirmed by running the select query
(or by then opening the table to verify that the fields had changed
in case you were in surprised disbelief).

I didnt have time to test other modification query types or read up on possible
parallel bugs of the firebird error so I am leaving this bug open.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125451] The updater has never worked for me and manual updating is extremely cumbersome

--- Comment #11 from signupem...@posteo.uk ---
> We are not going to remove the update check and there is no way that we are
> going to implement an automatic updater on Linux.

I made a suggestion that fits those desiderata (/constraints). That suggestion
was: make it loudly clear that the update checker merely checks.

Next: 'there is no way that we are going to implement an automatic updater on
Linux' - that seems unduly pessimistic or in a way too optimistic. Here is what
I mean. Is there no way of at least slightly streamlining the cumbersome
process that I described? One way of so doing would be to have a *single* .deb.
An alternative might be to use some some of installer file.

Also, and to repeat: a PPA was mentioned (by Julien Nabet ); what PPA, please?

Thank you all for your time.

you can make an graphic to an x times 0.5 cm size or whatever but the size has
to fit with text and everything with an grid cause otherwise you draw shapes

You'll want a#ifdef __APPLE__ to use:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125275] change default grid size to 25x25 mm = 1x1 zoll

2019-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I prefer not to change the current defaults, but to work on bug 78035 (and
duplicate 78034) and bug 98820. The idea in these reports is, to have a grid
setting per document, with access in page properties and side bar. This idea
would include, that the user can define the grid in a document template. And a
setting per document would make the grid stick to the set values and not be
changed by global settings. The global settings would only be uses for new
documents, which are not based on a document template.

I do not understand your objection. Predefined gallery shapes should be in
vector format and will adapt to any grid. And raster images will likely fail
either centimeter or inch based grid.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125470] New: IMPRESS crashes on close after using this presentation (with two short movies)

2019-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125470

Bug ID: 125470
   Summary: IMPRESS crashes on close after using this presentation
(with two short movies)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mathemati...@gmx.de

Created attachment 151645
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=151645=edit
odp file with movies to provoke this crash

Here is how to reproduce the crash of Impress:
* open the attached odp-file in LibreOffice
* start the presentation by F5
* use the arrow keys to watch all slides (in presentation mode)
* after the last slide: close LibreOffice
* watch the crash

This crash happend for me with LibreOffice 6.1.5.2 under Ubuntu linux. I have
also tried to turn on and off the graphics hardware accelaration of
LibreOffice, but this did not change anything.

Alternativly to the above listed approach, it is also often enough to only
watch all slides of this presentation in edit mode. Sometimes just opening the
file and closing Impress afterwards again was enough to provoke the crash.

The presenation is a minimal version of a "real" presentation. It contains
several short embedded movies (animations taken from Wikipedia). It was created
many years ago, and edited in a lot of different LibreOffice versions one after
another. But this crash is new in version 6.1.

Let me know if you need more information.

I beg to differ. In OOo days Ctrl+D displayed the Selection List (a list of
available cell contents in the same column), upon popular request (likely by
people migrating from Excel) in LibreOffice it was changed to the Fill Down
function, and Alt+Down bound to the Selection List.

Note that the dialog and the menu never claim "Update". They explicitly only
mention checking for updates and are meant to notify you when an update is
available.

Especially on Linux it is basically impossible to implement an updater at all.
Despite that the 'check for updates' feature is important as we still have way
too many people who are unaware of newer builds and use old and insecure
builds.

They just have the advantage of a more modern baseline. Our TDF builds are
produced against an old CentOS to be able to support as many Linux users as
possible which sadly means that not all features can be built on that platform.

I'm not sure what you want out of this bug report. We are not going to remove
the update check and there is no way that we are going to implement an
automatic updater on Linux.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107038] online: Poco::Time* replacement with std::chrono

I have made changes in the declaration part in Storage.hpp(changed
Poco::Timestamp to std::time_t).
In Storage.cpp, I couldn't find an alternate for the file.getLastModified() in
line 266. We might have to use something like this
https://stackoverflow.com/a/40504396/7866573 .
What do you suggest to do?

Thank You.

2019-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #9 from Cathy Crumbley  ---
The problem persists with a small difference. When gradient is selected in the
Sidebar, Light Green 4 and Light Red 4 automatically populate the colors.
Changing the colors is not possible. They always revert to Light Green 4 and
Light Red 4.

Note that the same behavior is exhibited for all fillable chart elements,
including chart wall, data series, and titles.

CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; VCL: win;

1.  Make three lines
  a. continuous
  b. 2 dots 3 dashes
  c. 2 dots 1 dash
2. Save as .docx and close
3. Open saved .docx file

Observed:   a. continuous is ok
b. property presented as continuous (and the line appears as such)
c. property presented as none (and the line does not match any of
the properties in appearance).

Expected: to keep the same properties as originally set.

(NB. this time I chose line properties where the differences should be
obvious, but I got similar effects with the ultrafine dashed and ultrafine
dotted becoming property "none" and not matching any of the line properties in
appearance.)

'Actually not an updater'; 'It only checks if a new version is available but
will never install new versions'. (i) That is not what one expects from an
updater. Possibly the expectation owes to Windows but the expectation exists.
If this feature is retained then it seems to me that the UI should stress that
it will not actually perform an update. However, so doing would throw the
following further problem into relief. (ii) The current model is apt to cause
frustration.

I do not understand. Is the idea that distro builds provide versions of Libre
