Yep, was coming here to say KDE5 is still valid. https://userbase.kde.org/KAddressBook PIM is still being actively worked on: https://www.dvratil.cz/2019/05/march-and-april-in-kde-pim/ Quote: "KAddressBook Volker also worked on preparing the KContacts library, a vCard standard implementation, to be moved to KDE Frameworks alongside KCalCore. You can read about this on his blog as well. Improvements As part of his code cleanup, Volker has removed the DataMatrix from contact display, so we only display the QR code now (Volker Krause, KDE Applications 19.08), and did massive clean up of the contact display code. When displaying contact address on a map, KAddressBook now defaults to OpenStreetMaps (Volker Krause, KDE Applications 19.08). Thanks to Laurent Montel it is now also possible to send SMS messages from KAddressBook through KDE Connect (KDE Applications 19.08). In the B column, next to the description validation criteria is set with "equal to" setting that refers to the cell itself. This means only the basic criteria is taken into account (whole number, decimal, date, time), and any such entry can be entered. Enter values like: - 645789 - -1956.56 - 1999-08-31 - 23:59 These are all allowed in Excel, but none of them is allowed in Calc. Note that in Excel the value criteria can be a cell reference, however Calc shows cell references as values (eg. "B1" instead of "=B1"), and doesn't allow selecting a referenced cell. Since we dumped kde4, I don't think we should try > to implement kde4 address book management. > So I'd be ok with Robert for WONTFIX > (just my personal opinion) This is not about a particular KDE version. IMHO KDE PIM in KDE3 was quite popular, so someone implemented a DB driver to access its address book from LO. In KDE4 - still IMHO - PIM was a disaster to use; I gave up on it. Now there is KDE5. I have no idea about the quality of PIM in there. As it stands some functionality was removed from LO, as it became obsoleted and nobody was interested in porting it to a newer version of KDE. Somebody might want to implement a DB driver for KDE5, so I think an enhancement report is still valid. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125607 --- Comment #7 from Thomas Maeder --- (In reply to Stephan Bergmann from comment #6) I cannot judge on how LO works on other platforms, but MS Excel (which I still have to use at the office...) behaves in a similar way on both Mac and Windows: while it does not let you select a folder in all implementations, links to folders have (up to now) always worked as expected on both platforms. As for the security issue, it seems it is possible to detect applications. Two examples using Applescript (simple folder vs application) to get their info are given below. Looking at both resulting attribute sets: - Both applications and folders indeed have the "folder" attribute (your concern). - Applications names have the ".app" ending, folders don't. - The file type of apps is "APPL", that of folders is an empty string "". - Applications (+ others) are bundles (the "package folder" attribute), not folders. Other attributes may be used, such as "kind", but, as seen in the example, the returned value is localised (in French in this example), making it harder to write generic code. A safe way to differentiate seems to me to check for the "APPL" attribute. One could also possibly ban opening bundles. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125907] New: Libre Office (Writer) Text Selection
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125907 Bug ID: 125907 Summary: Libre Office (Writer) Text Selection Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.2.7.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: lafitzherb...@gmail.com Description: Text selection was not working- by mouse or keyboard-shift and arrows, until finally(due to writing to report this bug) I went to the Edit menu and toggled the Selection mode from Standard to Block and then back again (to Standard). I'd never used this setting. The problem had been ongoing since the last update via Debian Stretch- software update. Version: 5.2.7.2 Build ID: 1:5.2.7-1+deb9u7 Steps to Reproduce: 1.position cursor with mouse in front of text and move to highlight 2.alternately position cursor with mouse and use shift and arrow keys to highligh 3.multiple clicking did not work either- resorted to backspacing to delete the words I didn't want. Actual Results: See steps to reproduce and letter. Nothing would highlight at all as if no text was selected. Word or sentences. While writing this, I went to see if there was a method to select all and noticed Selection Mode- and I toggled this to Block. That had an effect but didn't really work and when I put it back to Standard, the selection now works. This would mean that the problem is resolved, except I have never used that toggle before so something about the default setting of the selection mode is faulty. Expected Results: expected text to be selected and indicated by a highlight by using the mouse or the keyboard, using the methods usually used. I had never noticed or used nor did anyone else- the Selection Mode toolit was set at Standard, I changed it to Block, that didn't do anything helpful, then set it back to Standard and the problem resolved. This was a problem since the last software update last week. My guess is the default mode is screwed up since after the button was reselected there is no more selection-text highlight problem. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: en-US Module: TextDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Linux (All) OS is 64bit: yes -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

When debugging it became obvious, that PostMessage returns, even if the message was not yet added to the message queue. The assert happens, because we start the timer in the Scheduler before Invoke(), so it fires, if we block in Invoke(), and then reset the timer after Invoke, if there were changes to the Task list. In this case it fires during Invoke(), the message is added. We restart the timer, first by stopping it (we wait in DeleteTimerQueueTimer, to be sure the timer function has either finished or was not run). And the try to remove the message with PeekMessageW, which doesn't remove the posted message. Then the timer is restarted, and when the event is processed, we end up with an additional timer event, which was asserted. As a fix this adds a (microsecond) timestamp to the timer message, which is validated in the WinProc function. So if we stop the timer too fast, the event is ignored based on the timestamp. And while at it, the patch moves timer related variables from SalData into WinSalTimer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Most probably this bug will be gone with that fix in place; I'm therefore closing this bug as fixed. Please reopen if you can still reproduce with LibreOffice 6.2.5 or newer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124044] KDE5 VCL may require a little more cooking for wide consumption (at least on impress)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124044 Michael Weghorn changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |WORKSFORME Status|NEW |RESOLVED --- Comment #16 from Michael Weghorn --- LO 6.2.5rc1 will be tagged this week. The (known) blocking issues mentioned above (and more) have been fixed in the meanwhile and fixes were backported for the upcoming 6.2.5 release. What is left is that X11 primary selection doesn't work from Writer to external applications (s. bug 122239), which does have a fix for master pending in Gerrit, but it's a rather large one, so too risky to "quickly backport" it for 6.2.5, and possibly even 6.2.6. We (Katarina, Jan-Marek, me) discussed the current status today and don't see a reason to disable kde5 as default for 6.2 (on X11) any more and today's ESC call followed that suggestion. From the minutes: * Leave kde5 by default on Plasma/LXQt for 6.2.5 (tdf#124044) (Michael W, Jan-Marek) + The only real problem left is the the PRIMARY selection - Doesn’t work from Writer to external applications, but does otherwise e.g. inside LO or from external applications to LO - Fix for master / 6.3: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/73288/ - That is a whole rewrite of the clipboard and D’n’D code for Qt5. - bubli, jmux and michael decided to postpone the backport decision to 6.2.6, but will very likely just skip it for 6.2 completely + We disabled kde5 for Wayland, as this has still major problems - FYI: currently any LO crashes on KDE Wayland https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408358 + We want to keep kde5 enabled for still - when the pending 6.2 patches are merged => suggest to keep things unchanged Therefore, closing this bug now.
