Dear Björn Michaelsen,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

2019-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126062

Bug ID: 126062
Summary: Save to disconnected shared folder is unfriendly, and
shows strange errors
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.5 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu
Blocks: 104742

- Open a file from a Windows shared folder.
- Severe the connection between the two computers (I just shut down the one
with the share).
- Try to save the file.

=>
First what I'd like to see:
- If the save is to a network location (if that can be established), show a
dialog that it's trying to establish connection, and let the user cancel it.
- After X seconds (10? 20? configurable parameter?) time out with an error, ask
the user if they want to try again, if they do, attempt again with a longer,
~1-minute timeout.

What happens:
1. In 6.3 beta1 and a master debug build

The UI freezes, and after a minute you get a dialog:
"[Document Has Been Changed by Others]
The file has been changed since it was opened for editing in LibreOfficeDev.
Saving your version of the document will overwrite changes mage by others.
Do you want to save anyway?"
=> Save Anyway

"[Error]
Error saving the document :
The operation on was started with an invalid parameter."
=> OK

The dialog stays, in the master build after a few more OKs, you get a debug
error: abort() has been called.

In the 6.3 beta1 build, after ~3 OKs, you get a new dialog:
"[Document Could Not Be Locked]
The lock file could not be created for exclusive access by LibreOfficeDev, due
to missing permission to create lock file on that location or lack of free disk
space."
=> Open Read-Only

After a few seconds, there is the following error dialog:
"[Error]
Error saving the document :
Write Error.
The file could not be written."
=> OK

You are finally returned to the document.

2. In 5.0.0.5

The first result is the same ('Document Has Been Changed by Others').
However, after choosing 'Save Anyway', the second dialog is:
"Error saving the document :
The path does not exist."

The next dialog is the error complaining about invalid parameter, and finally
you are returned to the document.

I see these problems here:
The dialog does not correct the input to a valid range, if you leave the tab.
If you click in a different field to finish entering the new value, then the
value will be restricted to a valid range.

The dialog produces this negative value too, if you click "Apply" in the
Header-tab. At least at that point the value should be corrected.

The dialog goes into a faulty state, so that it is not possible at all, to set
valid values.

The bug reporter and me have given our reasons why we consider this a usability
bug.
In contrast, under which practical use case do you expect a user to
deliberately destroy a linkage between the columns of one row in a table?
If there is a significant use case I have not seen before you may be able to
convince me :-)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114760] Word Count problem with symbols in Chinese mixed with English text

2019-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114760

In my opinion, "words" does not include symbols basically.

The method used by LibreOffice now takes Chinese symbols into account to help
users in Taiwan or China to know what the press wants to know.

Note: The press/media in Taiwan or China count Chinese symbols as well to give
the pay for writers.

I suggest adding an extra count to know the "real word" count regardless any
form of symbols.

The spreadsheet with the buggy autofilter

I ran into the same problem. See the 3 attached files: a spreadsheet created in
Calc and saved in ods and xlsx format, and an image showing 19 additional lines
at the bottom when applying this filter. I have more files with the same
problem.
CALC, including 6.2, created a wrong filter. I did not examine the ods and xlsx
file, because in any case, people are not going to manually fix the ods or
xlsx files.
I add more facts:
1. In my example the wrong filter is being create when I create autofilter
only for the last column, "category". In all other cases autofilter works
correctly.
2. Out of my curiosity I opened the file with the wrong autofilter in another
spreadsheet applications.
Gnumeris: as LO Calc. 19 extra rows in both: ods and xlsx files.
Excel: in ods file I see 19 extra rows, in xlsx the filtration is
correct. No extra rows.
Calc in OO 4.1.6 : everything is correct, no extra rows in both:
ods and xlsx files.
3. The same behaviour, ( 19 extra rows) occurs when I select this column and
apply the standard filter.
4. if some rows are filtered, in order to cancel the autofilter, it is
necessary to deselect the autofilter checkbox twice in the menu. It is another
bug.
 5. When you apply the standard filter, from "more filters" menu Reset filter
quickly becomes unavailable. This is another bug.

I believe that the bug is confirmed. In addition, I mentioned two more bugs.

I think the problem is that there is a hidden label containing the prefix
"sdbc:postgresql" and the auto mnemonic processing is adding the mnemonic ~ to
the string giving ~sdbc:postgresql and we're taking the label contents raw
leading to a bizarre outcome.

I don't fully reproduce this in:

For example I can change the colour of things. I can turn on subtitle but I
cant turn it off.

Performance is very jumpy. But it doesn't act as if you've clicked the cell
below the sidebar as it did before.

Next time ive access to a Linux machine I'll retest on there as well.

Replace dependency of bug 83066 on other meta issues with see also.
Original dependent issues are:
Bug 50607 Ruby
Bug 106568 Texgrid
Bug 113193 traditional Chinese language issues.
Bug 113194 Simplified Chinese language issues.
Bug 113195 Japanese language issues.

Removal of dependency facilitate viewing the dependent as a tree, so that it
won't repeat the same issue twice.
