There's no "official applications icons" which are "part of the brand", other
than LibreOffice logo itself, which is the while sheet with a corner. See [1].

Where did you get that version from? It's not even in the bug reporting version
list?

User profile reset changes nothing:
I reset my user profile to factory settings, restarted, tried again, but the
described behaviour still remains.

Can you add a screenshot what happens on your machine? Maybe you need more bs
to reach the line length.
I added a screenshot from my machine.

The buttons on the right do not search. They just focus every comment one by
one, no matter of their content.
I also think, that, as long as comments are shown it should be possible to
search then through the usual work flow: Ctrl+F, type term, "enter" for search.

2019-06-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126074

Bug ID: 126074
Summary: Icon styles should not modify official application
icons in start center (and other relevant places)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: diazbast...@protonmail.com

Description:
Styles of icons are cool and help to give a fresh air to the LibreOffice
interface, however, I believe that these should not modify the application
icons, since these are part of the brand and image of the project. On the other
hand, there are styles of icons that modify the application icons a lot (eg
Karasa Jaga).

At least in the start center, the official icons should always be shown, except
in situations that require accessibility (high contrast).

Another important point is when you use a custom icon theme in the operating
system, many icon packs do not respect Brands and that leads to having a custom
LibreOffice apps icon in the system and a different one for LO icon styles,
which in turn can be different from the official ones. This may vary between
operating systems, but the idea is that the LibreOffice brand is the same in
all of them.

1. I opened the OTT
2. With the cursor in the first paragraph, I applied Text Body style (worked
OK)
3. I edited Text Body style and changed the font to Liberation Sans (worked OK)

So now I "researched it", but I see no problem. Are you saying you cannot
consistently reproduce the problem using the OTT and thus cannot give reliable
steps?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107532] Crashreport when launching

2019-06-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107532

Dear Telesto,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Dear Alexis,

Please read this message in its entirety before proceeding.

Your bug report is being closed as INSUFFICIENTDATA due to inactivity and
a lack of information which is needed in order to accurately
reproduce and confirm the problem. We encourage you to retest
your bug against the latest release. If the issue is still
present in the latest stable release, we need the following
information (please ignore any that you've already provided):

a) Provide details of your system including your operating
system and the latest version of LibreOffice that you have
confirmed the bug to be present

b) Provide easy to reproduce steps – the simpler the better

c) Provide any test case(s) which will help us confirm the problem

d) Provide screenshots of the problem if you think it might help

e) Read all comments and provide any requested information

Once all of this is done, please set the bug back to UNCONFIRMED
and we will attempt to reproduce the issue. Please do not:

a) respond via email

b) update the version field in the bug or any of the other details
on the top section of our bug tracker

Warm Regards,
QA Team

The source code indicates that soffice.bin is the one starting a background
process that does not finish before soffice.bin exits.

See:
https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/blob/master/shell/source/unix/exec/shellexec.cxx
Go to line 218:

OString cmd =
#ifdef LINUX
// avoid blocking (call it in background)
"( " + aBuffer.makeStringAndClear() + " ) &";
#else
aBuffer.makeStringAndClear();
#endif
FILE *pLaunch = popen(cmd.getStr(), "w");
if ( pLaunch != nullptr )
{
if ( 0 == pclose( pLaunch ) )
return;

It would be interesting to understand why execution is in background *only* for
Linux. In my opinion, it is undesirable for command line execution in any O/S.

Other opinions? It is possible for me to be perfectly content with the
artificial `sleep N` in my shell script.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126072] New: MacOS Language Pack DMG sometimes displays with inappropriate window backgroud image

2019-06-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126072

Bug ID: 126072
Summary: MacOS Language Pack DMG sometimes displays with
inappropriate window backgroud image
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.beta2+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Localization
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: notinterest...@gmx.com

Description:
MacOS langauge pack DMGs for LO 6.3.0.0beta2 open with wrong window background,
but only if MacOS LO 6.3.0.0beta2 application installer DMG is mounted. If
6.3.0.0beta2 application installer DMG is not mounted, language pack installer
correctly displays with plain background.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download MacOS LO 6.3.0.0beta2 application installer here:
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/mac/x86_64/LibreOfficeDev_6.3.0.0.beta2_MacOS_x86-64.dmg

2. Download a language pack for LO 6.3.0.0 beta2 from
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/mac/x86_64/?C=N=A

3. Double-click on the LO 6.3.0.0beta2 installer DMG to mount it.

4. Double-click on the LO 6.3.0.0beta2 language pack.

Actual Results:
For at least these three language packs:

LibreOfficeDev_6.3.0.0.beta2_MacOS_x86-64_langpack_de.dmg
LibreOfficeDev_6.3.0.0.beta2_MacOS_x86-64_langpack_en-ZA.dmg
LibreOfficeDev_6.3.0.0.beta2_MacOS_x86-64_langpack_en-GB.dmg

... the resulting window has a background with a borad green arrow on it. This
looks to be the background image for the main Mac LO installer, where the
application should be dragged to the Applications folder. However, the Language
Pack should instead be installed by double-clicking on the "Language Pack" file
(which is present, and can be double-clicked - hence this is a minor bug with
an easy work-around).

Expected Results:
Window should have plain white background. This is what happens if the language
pack DMG is double-clicked when the main installer DMG is not mounted.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126071] New: Assertion failure in offline help viewer when searching for string starting or ending in non-alphanumeric character

2019-06-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126071

Bug ID: 126071
Summary: Assertion failure in offline help viewer when
searching for string starting or ending in
non-alphanumeric character
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: haveBacktrace
  Severity: normal
  Priority: low
 Component: framework
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kelem...@ubuntu.com
Blocks: 105537

Created attachment 152373
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=152373=edit
Backtrace of the assertion error

If I try to search for a string that ends with a dot the offline help viewer
crashes with an assertion error.
In the non debug build I get a "There is no such topic" dialog when doing the
same.

To reproduce:
1. Open the offline help browser.
2. Go to the Search tab.
3. Enter "foo." and press the Find button.

The console shows this output:

soffice.bin: /home/gabor/src/core/sal/rtl/strtmpl.cxx:1378: void
rtl_uString_newFromSubString(rtl_uString**, const rtl_uString*, sal_Int32,
sal_Int32): Assertion `false' failed.

Happens in:
Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: ab5f341efd144adb6b7d0e00fece76a2153acd10
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

There is no assertion error when searching for "foo" or "foo.a" but there is
one if searching for ".foo".
Also this happens with basically any non alphanumeric characters at the
beginning or end of the string: .,"+-%=?! all can reproduce the problematic
behavior.

CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.11.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx;

Here's the Linux-specific text in the README_en-GB file:

Installation of LibreOfficeDev on Debian/Ubuntu-based Linux systems
--

For instructions on how to install a language pack (after having installed the
US English version of LibreOfficeDev), please read the section below entitled
Installing a Language Pack.

When you unpack the downloaded archive, you will see that the contents have
been decompressed into a sub-directory. Open a file manager window, and change
directory to the one starting with "LibreOffice_", followed by the version
number and some platform information.

This directory contains a subdirectory called "DEBS". Change directory to the
"DEBS" directory.

Right-click within the directory and choose "Open in Terminal". A terminal
window will open. From the command line of the terminal window, enter the
following command (you will be prompted to enter your root user's password
before the command will execute):

The following commands will install LibreOffice and the desktop integration
packages (you may just copy and paste them into the terminal screen rather than
trying to type them):

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

The installation process is now completed, and you should have icons for all
the LibreOfficeDev applications in your desktop's Applications/Office menu.

Installation of LibreOfficeDev on Fedora, openSUSE, Mandriva and other Linux
systems using RPM packages

This directory contains a subdirectory called "RPMS". Change directory to the
"RPMS" directory.

Right-click within the directory and choose "Open in Terminal". A terminal
window will open. From the command line of the terminal window, enter the
following command (you will be prompted to enter your root user's password
before the command will execute):

For Fedora-based systems: su -c 'yum install *.rpm'

For Mandriva-based systems: sudo urpmi *.rpm

For other RPM-based systems (openSUSE, etc.): rpm -Uvh *.rpm

The installation process is now completed, and you should have icons for all
the LibreOfficeDev applications in your desktop's Applications/Office menu.

Alternatively, you can use the 'install' script, located in the top-level
directory of this archive to perform an installation as a user. The script will
set up LibreOfficeDev to have its own profile for this installation, separated
from your normal LibreOfficeDev profile. Note that this will not install the
system integration parts such as desktop menu items and desktop MIME type
registrations.

Notes Concerning Desktop Integration for Linux Distributions Not Covered in the
Above Installation Instructions
--

It should be easily possible to install LibreOfficeDev on other Linux
distributions not specifically covered in these installation instructions. The
main aspect for which differences might be encountered is desktop integration.

The RPMS (or DEBS, respectively) directory also contains a package named
libreoffice6.3-freedesktop-menus-6.3.0.1-1.noarch.rpm (or
libreoffice6.3-debian-menus_6.3.0.1-1_all.deb, respectively, or similar). This
is a package for all Linux distributions that support the Freedesktop.org
specifications/recommendations (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedesktop.org),
and is provided for installation on other Linux distributions not covered in
the aforementioned instructions.

Installing a Language Pack
--

Download the language pack for your desired language and platform. They are
available from the same location as the main installation archive. From the
Nautilus file manager, extract the downloaded archive into a directory (your
desktop, for instance). Ensure that you

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126068] Spaces invisible when entered at the end of a line

2019-06-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126068

(In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #3)
> Wonder what happens with a text run of ?

So checked, and a run of are entered one at a time and will be
wrapped onto vcl canvas. So just the with attribute for a
text run of spaces is not wrapped--but also it is not visualized to canvas, and
we can not advance text cursor into the margin.

Checked and LO wrap behavior matches the MS Word 2016 wrap behavior--that is
the wrap will not occur until some non-space text is added, and that text then
becomes the start of the next line. Spaces show into the margins, and then
after the text causing the wrap.

So our behavior is the same as MS Word, but we don't visualize the additional
spaces outside the margins and we can not manipulate the text cursor which
holds stuck against the right margin.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117734] Columns and formatting lost when saved and reopened as RTF

2019-06-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117734

Problem is still the same as in my first post.

Create a document with i.e. three columns.
Save as RTF.
When reopened all formatting is gone!

2019-06-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126068

I'm not sure about wrapping of spaces. Of cause an editor, which wraps at the
window edge, will put the spaces to the new line. But Word and OpenOffice.org
had always wrapped so, that the first non-space content is at the starting of
the next line. I haven't got Wordperfect and have not used Latex. Perhaps
someone knows, how they handle such spaces.

But as long as the line break works as it is now, the spaces should be
displayed to make it clear to the user why the cursor and delete key behave
like this.

The rotation is done as 3D-effect. LibreOffice is currently not able to show
these effects. It stores it only, so that it can be written back on saving.

Workaround: Use an ordinary shape rotation instead.

So for me it is an enhancement request.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99672] Replace All with format in search and empty replace text does not replace.

2019-06-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99672

If the Replace field and formatting is empty, Replace All does nothing (other
than highlight the occurrences).

If the Replace field has no text but has formatting, it swaps out the
formatting (but does not delete the text).

I would expect an empty Replace field to delete all found occurrences (like it
does for plain text find and replace).

Created attachment 152371
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=152371=edit
Mockup for the modification

We have "Before" and "After" allowing to enter static text. The customization
could provide means to modify the delimiter "Between" similarly, defaulting to
the dot. In case of levels >2 it makes sense to only change the last delimiter,
e.g. A-1+I defines the - at level 2 and the I at level 3 (but not A-1 vs
A+1+I).
Provided ODF allows this flexibility.

All these changes needs to fit into the new dialog, adding some developers. The
mockup does not work on all aspects; in particular the mix between characters
and numbers is not possible with this kind of top bar selection. So please just
consider the Before/After > Delimiter part. (For consistency it needs a dot at
After to have 1., 2. etc. - we provide this customization today only per
selection from the predefined types).

So which is wrong, that there is no string wrap to the following line with a
text run of spaces reaching the margin--allowing spaces to enter the margin, or
that spaces extend beyond the margin and are not show--where all other mixed
text spans will wrap.

Wonder what happens with a text run of ?
