[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96341] Version 5.1 takes a lot more RAM than version 5.0 in Windows

2019-07-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

You have to think deep. It's true that version 5.1 takes more RAM than version
5. Because it comes with a lot more specification and many more features. So
when I also using canon mg2922 printer it's lacking for giving the command. If
you need any help regarding canon printers you can go through

In my opinion, there are multiple issues here, some illustrated by the example
from the bug submitter, some not. Maybe I should file separate bugs.

1. Exclude Chinese punctuations and symbols from the "Words" count. Or
alternatively, exclude all Chinese characters and symbols from the "Words"
count, as "words" (词/詞) is a rather vague concept in Chinese anyway, and
counting each Chinese character as a word would never be correct.

2. Recognize full-width space (U+3000) in the "Characters excluding spaces"
count;

3. Provide Asian character count excluding punctuations and symbols, as that
number is sometimes preferred.

We have two different behaviours now:
Start a query in GUI and set LIMIT in the GUI will work with internal Firebird.
Switching the query to direct SQL will throw an error.

Tested all with LO 6.3.0.0 beta2.
I would prefer this bug to set as FIXED, because it will work, if it isn't set
to direct SQL.

Don't agree that selection should be made upon landing in the field--we don't
do that anywhere else in the UI.

Otherwise, cursor positions to start of field using , or prior field with

Selection of the field text is then done with normal edit control with
+; and that slection (i.e. highlight) is only released with the

If at the end of the field text, the opposite + selects back to
the start of the field text; and then released with +.

IMHO this all is correct--I don't want the field selected (highlighted) on
landing in the field. I want to specifically select it or release the selection
and have control over the edit just like any other fielded data.

The close is a little weird--but seems to behave consistently. Only other
issue is being able to move to the next field with selection/highlight still in
place. Not sure that is the right behavior.

But IHMO => WF the OPs issue.

@Jim, Caolán any opinion here?

To clarify, we don't generate 6 digit code for LibreOffice. Based on my
research I found out that this is an already known issue with LibreOffice.

Here are some articles from LibreOffice that might resolve the issue:

Google Drive doesn't send SMS codes

Issue of OP here, mishandling of italic vs. slanted faces of Computer Modern
when both are present on system is not from the PDF print/export filter, nor
form the poppler based PDF import filter.

So this is not a PDF filter issue. Rather, the issue is cross platform and is a
font handling limitation. Closing as duplicate of bug 105298, or as in see also
bug 35538 and its os specific font mishandlings.

Would note that our other PDF insertion filter, pdfium based, correctly renders
the subset glyphs per font style to document canvas--but fails even more so
when text runs of the Draw graphic object get a 'break' apart.

PDF "touch-up" with LibreOffice will always be a losing proposition, and why we
provide our "hybrid" PDF with an embedded ODF stream.

Confirming wrt owner change (in 6.2 and current master). There's no use to
check 6.1, since no new builds will be released there anyway. I can't check at
the moment how the behavior differs in case of Windows 7.

I am not sure what to do here. The new behavior is consistent with major
Windows applications, like MS Word, or Autodesk AutoCAD. So I'm inclined to
close this as WONTFIX, given that permissions are kept correctly now.

I'm not closing this right now, to have some time to think this over.

Dear Rpnpif,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Almost 8 years later and this bug/feature request is still unresolved.

I would have thought that having a very commonly used function not available as
a keyboard shortcut, or indeed any way, other than mouse clicking a GUI element
would be an issue for universal accessibility of LibreOffice.

I hope it is resolved soon.

In LO 6.2.5.2 first comment is blue, other comments are green. I don't know
where to define comment background.

In 6.4.0.0. first comment is yellow, other comments are green and I can't see a
difference, if cursor hovers over a comment.

The OS versions are Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, 1809 and 1803, but also Windows 7.

Why 6.2 behaved differently, I am not sure anymore. Perhaps I tested with a
different file with other inherited and added permissions.

If LibreOffice stopped to support KDE4 in 6.2.3.2 -> 6.2.4.2 version update and
in 6.3.*, I suggest it would be better to entirely remove
program/libkde4be1lo.so
program/libvclplug_kde4lo.so

and would be better to ensure that systems with Qt4 and older Qt5 will not use
KDE/Qt for LibreOffice and will automagically switch to gtk3.

Yes now I see it's showed in File->Print Preview" maybe further explanation

Description:
in lubuntu libreoffice windows have no icon, neither on window nor on task bar.

for sure this happens for Writer and Calc.

i had ubuntu 16.04 it worked normal, then i installed lubuntu on top, and then
it does not show anymore (i post it here because i don't know if there is
something within LO that can help, as other applications do show their icons
(but Brave does not, either) )

Actual Results:
neither the taskbar, nor the window-switch (Alt+tab), nor the window itself
have the application icon, instead there is a generic "white and sky-blue
generic window" icon

Expected Results:
i expected the writer or calc icon to identify window type

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126216] New: Inconsistent spacing between letters in Writer

2019-07-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126216

Bug ID: 126216
Summary: Inconsistent spacing between letters in Writer
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vincent.hu...@live.fr

Description:
When writing text in Writer, the spacings are inconsistent. Sometimes (like in
my configuration with the default font), these spacings look a lot like actual
space characters, making the text very hard to read, because you see spaces
that are not here.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Libre Office Writer
2. Start typing.
3. hope for the bug to happen

Actual Results:
In some cases (in attached file at "dans", second "Kiwi", "immortels", "aimés"
second paragraph (twice) there is spacings that split the words. These spaces
are roughly the size of a caret (blinking bar).

Expected Results:
I would have expected the spaces to be more consistent. The problem is that
they are easily mistaken as spaces, which makes the text hard to read.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
About reproductibility :
This problem happen consistently accross the same device. When switching to
another computer, the problem is still here, but the spaces don't have the same
lenght and don't happen at the same place.
Opening the file in Microsoft Word, the problem doesn't show up in word but
keeps in Writer.
The problem is independant on the word typed.
I suspect a problem in the rendering engine of the text.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126215] New: Page borders not showing in Draw v6.2.4 on MacOS

2019-07-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126215

Bug ID: 126215
Summary: Page borders not showing in Draw v6.2.4 on MacOS
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ian.sm...@slayer.com

Description:
In Draw 6.2.4.2 (MacOS) there is a cosmetic issue where the printable page
boundary rectangle is not displayed on either existing documents or new
documents. The page boundary/border rectangle is normally shown in the normal
document view and in other views such as the Master View. The grid is shown
correctly, but not the page boundary.

It is not clear in exactly which version this issue appeared, but on one MacOS
(Sierra) machine running 6.1.5.2 the display operated correctly and on the same
machine with 6.2.4.2 it has the observed problem.

I will attach two files showing the errored screenshot (A) and the correct
screenshot(B).

This error report follows an ask.libreoffice.org question:

https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/199838/page-borders-not-showing-in-draw-v624/

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Libreoffice application
2. Create a new Draw file (or open an existing one)
3. Look for the bounding box that indicates the edge of the printable page
region.

Actual Results:
In the failing version of LO (at least 6.2.4.2 but possibly earlier) this
bounding rectangle is missing.

Expected Results:
In versions of LibreOffice up to and including 6.1.5.2 this bounding rectangle
is present.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No
