[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126308] Escape character "'" (single quote) shows in final cell output

> I don't think it is a bug.
> Character escape only works with valid non text values, otherwise there is

But in MS Excel it doesn't show in the output when it's applied to regular
text. Also being an escape character IMO it'd make sense to not show it
regardless.

Finally, it has the problem that if I apply a function that adds it to a whole
column, it will show it in some entries and not in others.

Dear Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired),

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Dear Telesto,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126337] New: Charts re-add deleted dollar signs to sheet identifiers in 'Data Ranges'.

2019-07-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126337

Bug ID: 126337
Summary: Charts re-add deleted dollar signs to sheet
identifiers in 'Data Ranges'.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.5.2 release
  Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: multipart...@gmail.com

Description:
When I edit the Data Ranges of a certain chart in LibreOffice Calc, its 'Data
Range' is '$template.$F$4:$G$54' and the 'Data Series' entries likewise begin
with '$template".

Part 1: If I remove the $ from just the Data Range field, or both the Data
Range and Data Series fields, then when close and reopen Data Ranges the $
signs have returned, though sometimes just one Data Series field doesn't have
it.

Part 2: If I remove the $ signs from only Data Series, sometimes they stay
gone for a while, but then eventually in a new sheet (copied from the template
sheet) a chart doesn't reflect the data and I find its Data Ranges point to
$template, as do the Data Series fields of the original chart again.

I do not know what the earliest version affected by this is--I've seen this
problem for a while, but had been updating occasionally hoping that a newer
version would fix it. I have not found this bug in Bugzilla by searching for
'sheet dollar chart', though I have seen this issue mentioned at this URL:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/74474/can-i-set-a-charts-data-ranges-relative-to-current-sheet/

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert a chart in a LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet.
2. In 'Data Ranges' for that chart, remove the $ signs before the sheet name in
the Data Range tab and the Data Series tab.
3. Close and reopen 'Data Ranges' and observe that the deleted $ signs have
been replaced.
4. (Optional: Copy the sheet and see that the new sheet's chart refers to the
cells in the previous sheet, not the new sheet.)

Actual Results:
Deleted $ signs are replaced as if they had never been deleted. (If only Data
Series $ signs are deleted, then they stay deleted for a while and are later
replaced with hard-to-predict timing.)

Expected Results:
Deleted $ signs should have stayed deleted forever. I do not object to either
Data Range or Data Series overriding the other (such as adding or removing $ in
Data Range adding or removing it from all Data Series fields), but I do object
to all fields reverting to having unwanted $ signs.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I don't think it is a bug.
Character escape only works with valid non text values, otherwise there is
nothing to escape. And a way to know if the escaped value it's valid or not.

Hello Xisco,

I tested with the the last two branches. Enterprise/conservative user (6.1.6.3)
and the technology enthusiast (6.2.5.2).

- With 6.1.6.3 it happens the same issue for me, but remember that only happens
with the combination of "Hardware acceleration" with "Antialiasing" (I have
attached new screenshoot)

- With 6.2.5.2 it runs all well without any problem.I have tested the four
combinations with the two checks and all is OK! (In this version it appears
only two checks, Hardware and Antialiasing, it doesn't appear OpenCL checks
near below)

I have changed to unconfirmed because i don't know if the fresh is the 6.1.6.3
or the 6.2.5.2.

Thanks and King Regards,
David.

Bug ID: 126336
Summary: Replace new bad non functional B dialog in Impress
for old WORKING dialog
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: 79045_79...@mail.ru

Description:
Replace new bad non functional B dialog in Impress for old WORKING dialog.
You made really bad thing. You deleted working B dialog, but don't replace it
new working dialog. Instead you made terrible and non functional anything.
May be you for start make full functional new B dialog and only then replace
old for new?!
6.3 release is already nearby and we have a big problem with bullet & numbering
options in Impress.
May be move replacing of that dialog into 6.4 release?!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Impress
2. Try use new Bullet and Numbering dialog
3.

Actual Results:
We have a big problem with B dialog now

Expected Results:
We have a working old B dialog now in 6.3 release

Reproducible: Always

Happens for me also with gtk3 and gen on master. What about Windows and MacOS?

If it's a general VCL problem, remove the blockers. Currently don't have time
for bibisect myself. Maybe tomorrow, if noone beats me to it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126332] New: "sujet." does not find synonyms because of period

2019-07-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126332

Bug ID: 126332
Summary: "sujet." does not find synonyms because of period
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: waynekend...@gmail.com

Description:
For some reason, the French word "sujet" (subject) doesn't offer synonyms on
right-click if it's followed by a period. If you remove the period or put a
space before the period, it gives you synonyms.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set language to any French variety
2. Type "sujet." (without quotes)
3. Right-click on it for a synonym. No option for synonym.
4. Remove the period or put a space before the period
5. Right-click on it for a synonym. Now the option for synonym is there.

Actual Results:
No synonym option when right-clicking on "sujet."

Expected Results:
Synonym option should be offered when right-clicking on "sujet."

Reproducible: Always

I haven't found other words for which it does this.

2019-07-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 126330
Summary: Extraneous lines rendering select SVGs in LibreOffice
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: ARM
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: alyssa.rosenzw...@collabora.com

Description:
Test case: Not all svgs display this behaviour; an example "problem" svg is
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cc/Noto_Emoji_Oreo_1f914.svg

Add this svg to a LibreOffice document (bug seen in both Writer and Impress)
via Insert->Image. Extraneous blue lines appear in the top left corner of the
image; no such lines are visible when viewing the SVG outside of LO; it should
be transparent in that area. The lines are visible both in the editor and in an
exported PDF. Example: https://people.collabora.com/~alyssa/Bluelines.odp
(export https://people.collabora.com/~alyssa/Bluelines.pdf)

Tested on aarch64 machine (armv8); build from Debian buster.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open the linked odp.

Actual Results:
Incorrect SVG rendering

Expected Results:
Correct SVG rendering

Reproducible: Always

I don't agree, because for example heading 2 is a heading style and it is not
related to a specific chapter level, so style "heading 2" is not a sub-level of
style "heading 1".

So for me NOTABUG, but let's ask design team.

Talk to anyone like myself who has been a draftsman and they will tell you that
the standard X-Y Cartesian system is + X is to the right and +Y is up. This is
also the way high school math was taught. It wasn't until desktop publishing
and webpages came along and made the upper right 0,0.

And if you have a 3 dimensional system, the problem is a bit more complicated.
I once developed a 3dimensional gridding system, which I won't attempt to
describe here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126329] New: Allow inline editing of URLs in editeng

2019-07-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126329

Bug ID: 126329
Summary: Allow inline editing of URLs in editeng
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: s.mehrbr...@gmail.com

URLs in editeng are fields (while in Writer they are just character
attributes).

That means, the cursor can't travel through them as they are represented by a
single character internally.

This makes URL editing hard compared to Writer. One has to right click on a
link, select "Edit Link" and then update the link text.

Instead it should be possible to directly edit the URL text as any other text
(and as it is possible in Writer).

Probably we can't get rid of the field nature the URL currently has (to not
break API) but we can surely add inline field editing as we have in Writer for
certain fields.
