We talked about this topic in the design meeting. While more organization is
always welcome, the drawback of another levels is the unclear relevance of this
new style. In case of Character styles it could be "Standard" (Emphasis, Strong
Emphasis, Source Text...), "Annotation" (Endnote, Footenote...), "References"
(Links...). While users can inherit manually (and we can do programatically)
it's absolutely not clear if properties are taken.

So as long we do not get more clear opinions to change we keep the status quo
(REOPENED for more input).

As alternative solution Bogdan suggested to introduce a new filter type, let's
say "Simple Hierarchical", and just filter out the not so frequently used
styles.

This applies also to bug 126258 and bug 126257.

We talked about this topic in the design meeting. While more organization is
always welcome the drawback of another level is the unclear relevance of this

We talked about this topic in the design meeting. What users set should be
respected and remembered, so the filter whether Automatic or All should be
applied after switching from paragraph to character styles and back. The same
is true for the other style types, of course.

Could be an easy hack.

Double-checked MSO and the logic is simple: fill if either the left cell has

empty).

This would be filled from C1:C4 (3 7):

Dear Aron Budea,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

Dear Maxim,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126453] New: Tooltip stays topmost after switching to other applications, covering part of screen

2019-07-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126453

Bug ID: 126453
Summary: Tooltip stays topmost after switching to other
applications, covering part of screen
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

Created attachment 152841
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=152841=edit
A screenshot of the problem

When writing a formula (having AutoInput enabled), and typing a function name
or opening a spreadsheet function's parenthesis, there appears a tooltip
(suggesting function names, or explaining parameters). If one switches to
another application at this moment, the tooltip stays, and may cover parts of
UI of applications one wants to work with.

My expectation is that the tooltip disappears as soon as Calc looses focus.

Actually, the tooltip stays also when user interacts with other LibreOffice's
UI elements, e.g. menu: it stays atop the menu items (covering the text); stays
atop Help->About dialog, etc.

Tested with Version: 6.3.0.1 (x64)
Build ID: 41ac97386aba908b6db860cfb4cfe2da871886ae
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; VCL: win;
Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

and with OpenOffice.org 3.2.0 OOO320m12 (Build:9483).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126452] New: the menu link turns into a root only desktop link which then has to be changed into a user link

2019-07-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126452

Bug ID: 126452
Summary: the menu link turns into a root only desktop link
which then has to be changed into a user link
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2 all versions
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bavaria...@gmail.com

Description:
After I install LibreOffice it creates links in the Ubuntu 18.04 debian menu.
But if I want to create a desktop link, the starter link when dragged and
dropped to the desktop, turns into a root only link.
I have to use root privilege to change permissions on the menu link and then
drop it on the desktop in order to create a rw user link that opens just by
clicking on it.
I wonder if you could change the root link into a rw link?
Better yet, Include a desktop link in any new LibreOffice installation.
Thank you.

Actual Results:
any libreOffice link turns into a root only desktop link when dragged and
dropped on the desktop

Expected Results:
the menu link should just remain a rw link when dropped on the desktop

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

In inkscape you can search via right click for shapes with the same area, line,
area + line style so it's easy to change the style of all shapes with the same
style.

select elements with the same style would be also usefull for writer where you
can add this option into the right click menu.

I need this behaviour to change with one single click the style of all shapes
which is very usefull when you make templates/gallery items cause you can't fit
the template for the specific coler composition and I don't want to end up to
have 6 time the same gallery item only cause the color is different. with
select all shapes with color red it will be easy and fast to change everything
to any other color.

we discussed in the design meeting that have an "Index Heading" will be an
additional Style (all paragraph styles show 122 items), so the number increase,
but as all "Index Heading" substyles has the same settings it will be easier to
change ALL different Index Heading styles once, which is from my point of view
an improvement.

I think I have a good name for the "special" group

  - Index Heading
- Bibliography Heading
- Contents Heading
- Figure Index Heading
- Index Heading
- Object Index Heading
- Table Index Heading
- User Index Heading

"Index Heading" could be used cause all styles that are not Heading are in the
Group "Index" so "Index Heading" will be consequent.

I know that the alphabetic order is an issue, but now there are 19 styles in
the Heading group with "Index Heading" It will be

- Heading
   - Heading 1 - 10
   + Index Heading
   - Title
   - Subtitle

So only 13 items in the group.

In the menubar we highlight stuff by show an icon in addition to the label.
when we show in the styles list and treeview also an icon for styles that have
an .uno: command it would highlight the styles (like all styles that are in the
styles writer menubar has an icon) that are more importend than others.

In addition to highlight specific styles some styles didn't have an preview
like table styles or styles in draw. By the posibility to have an icon in the
styles sidebar we can have an "preview" icon of an draw style.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125767] Unable to drag and drop fields when creating a pivot table

2019-07-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125767

Caolán McNamara - I did a little more investigation as I searched for the
latest version of CALC that has working Pivot Tables. I'm taking AppImage
files from:
http://libreoffice.soluzioniopen.com/index.php/old-versions/ to simplify
testing and to mitigate any influence of my own Linux environment as much as
possible.

There are two problems:
1) Pivot Tables layout dialog box drag and drop got broken between Ver 6.0.6.2
and Ver 6.1.0.3 (using VCL: gtk2 as with earlier versions which all work as
expected)
2) Starting with LibreOffice 6.2.2.2, users cannot drag & drop blocks of cells
either (correlates with change from gtk2 to gtk3)

All tests run on Chromebook's Crostini (Debian stretch) environment. I did a
dpkg check and came up with same version of gtk3 as Patrick Addy (see comment
4)

Version: 6.0.6.2 - All works fine - both blocks of cells and Pivot Table
Layout dialog box drag
Build ID: 0c292870b25a325b5ed35f6b45599d2ea4458e77
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group
AppImage filename: LibreOffice-6.0.6-x86_64.AppImage

Version: 6.1.0.3 - User can drag & drop blocks of cells, but the PivotTable
layout dialogue is broken
Build ID: efb621ed25068d70781dc026f7e9c5187a4decd1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded
AppImage filename: LibreOffice-6.1.0-x86_64.AppImage

Ver 6.1.1 - VCL : gtk2 Drag/drop blocks of cells works, but Pivot Table layout
dialog box is broken
Ver 6.1.5 - VCL : gtk2 Drag/drop blocks of cells works OK, but Pivot Table
layout dialog box is broken

Version: 6.1.6.3 - Drag/drop blocks of cells works OK, but Pivot Table layout
dialog box is broken
Build ID: 5896ab1714085361c45cf540f76f60673dd96a72
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded
AppImage Filename: LibreOffice-still.basic-x86_64.AppImage

Ver 6.2.2.2 - Cannot drag/drop blocks of cells. Cannot create PivotTables
Build ID: 2b840030fec2aae0fd2658d8d4f9548af4e3518d
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Ver 6.3.0.1 beta: VCL: gtk3 Cannot drag/drop blocks of cells, nor use the
PivotTable layout box

I hope this helps you or others narrow it down.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126295] Unable to open files in LO Calc -- timeout waiting for threadpool tasks

2019-07-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126295

What are the limits of SUMPRODUCT? LO CALC again crashed with Fatal Error:
timeout waiting for threadpool tasks

I was working on a file with 350,000+ rows and performing this formula:
=SUMPRODUCT($D$22:$D$260100=D240929). The data in this file looks like the
sample I've already uploaded. D=matchid. I had already gone through the file
and executed =D2<>D3.

Is there a limit on how many rows are included in an array? Or, is there a
limit on how many rows can be selected using Drag Fill? I think one of these is
the culprit.

Windows 10 1803 v17134.137, GPU intel UHD 620, default dpi factor 150%

I installed Libreoffice 6.2.5.2 x64, but the interface is awful : icons are
very pixelated. I tried sevral tricks like deleting the cache, changing the dpi
scaling method in Windows (Application : pixelated / System : Blurry ) and
desactivated OpenGL with no success. I also tried SVG icons : they are a little
bit better but still blurry.

I finally changed my system dpi to 125% and the interface is perfect (but my
whole system is too small)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Libreoffice (clean install on a new PC)
2. Launch Libreoffice / Writer with default dpi (150%) --> ICONS pixelated
3. Close Libreoffice
4. Change system dpi to 125%

Since you're on Plasma, the VCL backend now in use should be kde5 instead of
kde4. Just check "About LibreOffice".

I can't really qualify "fluidity". In comparison to kde4, kde5 uses native menu
bars, so LO isn't touching these at all. Everything is drawn only by Qt. LO
still draws the popup menus itself. The menubar should look and behave like any
KDE application. If you think there is a bug, then check 6.3 or feel free to
open a new bug report.

I disagree, it's an easyhack + difficultyInteresting. A newcomer shouldn't take
this one as the first hack, instead, it should be the natural evolution of
someone with some beginning easyhacks upon their shoulders

So the dialog should have a set of radio buttons? When a selection is made
from canvas it would pre-select that radio button. If no selection, then
picking a radio button would set that style type (as currently customized, or
with defaults for the type?).

Seems reasonable way to adjust what is otherwise a useful dialog.

With the build from

the problem is gone.

There are some differences in fonts, see https://snag.gy/cLBdDE.jpg and in the
"fluidity" of menu transitions (fading out).

In my initial report I proposed that first a user should choose the type of
style and afterwards the formatting dialog will be opened. If only paragraph
styles should be created with menu/toolbar, as you proposed, the menu items and
icon tips should be renamed: "New Paragraph Style" instead "New Style".
Otherwise, I think, a user may be irritated, if s/he likes to create another
type of style.

The opposite perspective is valid too: People using styles and the side bar for
that, are not the typical newbies and may be well served by seeing more stuff,
that will bring some ideas up to them, maybe..
