(In reply to reikenberg from comment #11)
> Perhaps it comes from custom paper sizes.
> Can you reproduce it when create a custom paper size of 10,16mm x 15,24mm?

I tred to reproduce it as follows:

1. I opened new document and typed some text (like in your example) to make
result more visible
2. Format => Page => Page format User (10,16 cm x 15,24 cm) => O. K.
3. File => Print => Paper size 102 x 152 / orientation: portrait (looks fine)
4. Changed orientation to landscape

Result: preview and print are cropped at the top of the page (see attachment)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126519] UI - Calculation incorrect with VLOOKUP function, will not correct on recalculate

Thanks for that - I can confirm that works here too.
I'd suggest that needing to do hard recalc, which as a long-time user I was not
aware of, is unexpected behaviour.
I raised the bug because my wife, who is a skilled user, was unable to
establish what was wrong.
I think a normal user would expect autocalc to ALWAYS work, and a manual recalc
likewise.
Interestingly my windows install menu of Menu/Data/Calculate/ contains only
Recalculate, Formula to Value, and AutoCalculate - no option for the hard
recalc.

I always like to learn something new, so I'll teach my wife [Ctrl+Shift+F9]
too, but I'd prefer it to be more discoverable.

Thanks again for your help!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61558] High CPU load when scrolling a document with many comments

2019-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61558

If I scroll continuously (by placing the cursor in the scroll bar and scroll
down the page at a time) the CPU usage falls to about half of what it was. The
CPU usage rises as soon as the scrolling stops. That is strange!
We have a guide for the setup, which you can find on the following
link:https://www.techsupportdubai.com/led-tv-repair/
If I take a screen dump with Alt/PrtScr (or it might be AltGr/PrtScr) the CPU
usage jumps while the screenshot is taken, and then falls to virtually zero.
This last bit is a bit intermittent - mostly it does. It might depend on
whether the Writer Window is active when the screen dump is taken. Why does the
Writer CPU fall after the screenshot?

Very interesting! Thanks for testing, m.a.riosv

I should add that using the "Find & Replace > Attributes... > Strikethrough"
works as expected in both documents.

I also just tried to restart in safe mode with user profile as factory
settings, which didn't fix it.

I also noticed that, when selecting single strikethrough as the format searched
for, we can see underneath the Find box:
"Single strikethrough, Indent left 0.0 inch, From top 0.0 inch, From bottom 0.0
inch"
Is that expected? It is confusing, as the search didn't specify any values for
indentation.

Hi

The Behavior of the connector is broken since LO 6.2.x. At least since LO
6.2.4. It worked without problems in LO 6.1.x:
To reproduce the Bug
1. Open the attached File
2. Take the Arrow from a gluepoint of the circle to another -> it should be
updated in realtime. But it is only updated when the curser released.

Hope this is enough...
Thanks

  Reporter: damian.hofm...@gmx.ch

Description:
The tabbed Notebook Bar has a host of display/usability issues on Windows 10:

1. Tabs are too small in height
2. Underlined Mnemonics add visual noise
3. Padding between text and border of tabs is too small
4. Not enough contrast between colors for currently active and inactive tabs
5. Buttons are poorly aligned, have no space between and are missing borders

Overall, the Notebook Bar looks cramped and noisy. Lack of contrast makes it
difficult to see, which tab is currently active. These layout problems impact
usability.

Tested on Windows 10 1809 with LO 6.2.5
Screen resolution: 4K (3840 x 2160) with 250% text scaling

Steps to Reproduce:
1.View > User Interface > Tabbed

The document loads fine. There is no error message. However, the application

2019-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126527

Bug ID: 126527
Summary: find (and replace) by format does not find anything
(in some cases)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stephane.guil...@member.fsf.org

Description:
Using "Find and Replace > Format..." does not work in a new document, when
looking for text formatted in a certain way. It does however work in other
documents.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attachment new_doc.odt (brand new document created with LibreOffice)
2. Find and Replace > Format... > Font Effects > Strikethrough > Single
3. Click "OK"
4. Click "Find all"

Actual Results:
The words that are strikethrough are not selected

Expected Results:
Nothing was found

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The same steps done in preexisting_doc.odt work as expected for some reason.
This file used to be an RTF document, that had (possibly) been edited with
Microsoft Office at some stage.

Not sure how to consistently create a document in which the format search will
work.

Allow me a bit of marketing: The LibreOffice Vanilla app in the Mac App Store
does not suffer from this problem. It includes a bunch of languages already.
(The localisations included are those that have "good enough" coverage to be
worth it, and yes, that is not something that can be decided objectively, but a
guesstimate.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126525] New: Suite-wide color picker

2019-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126525

Bug ID: 126525
   Summary: Suite-wide color picker
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice

  Reporter: gtomor...@libero.it

I was reading https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93813";>Bug 93813
and got to thinking about how the entire suite, not just Draw, needs this
feature as swatch creation in LO is non-trivial.

I'm pretty sure some developer on your team had already considered this...but
just in case...

I was thinking LO could hook into the existing system-wide color picker
available in Win/Mac/Linux...ah, Linux (regardless of DE) doesn't have a
system-wide color picker.

So, instead of "reinventing the wheel" and coding from scratch, couldn't an
existing GPL/MIT solution be integrated, thus eliminating the need for (at
least) three different solutions.

Pardon me for being presumptious. I admit I'm not in anyway a programmer, just
an end-user, but I feel in this day and age a suite-wide color picker is
commonplace, and judging by questions and requests posted here, on
ask.libreoffice.org and elsewhere, I'm not alone. Thank you.

--- Comment #22 from Roman Kuznetsov <79045_79...@mail.ru> ---
Heiko, I suggest merge back your patch disabling header/footer by default.

For solution of the problem with "Insert->Headers and Footers" menu item I
suggest follow variants for discuss:

1. Just delete menu item Insert->Headers and Footers at all and update guides
and Help.
2. Insert->Headers and Footers should be split to two menu items Insert->Header
and Insert->Footer that will be open Format->Page dialog on Header and Footer
tabs and will activate options "Header on" / "Footer on" respectively.

I think disabling of Headers/Footers by default is more important and useful
thing than disabled "Insert->Headers and Footers" menu item that btw. has
workaround.

Default 'Automatic' icon theme selection on Windows are the Colibre icons in
PNG. The PNG will be scaled in bulk in response to setting os UI magnification.

That scaling of the PNG bitmaped icons can appear pixeleated at higher
valuse--I find 175% to be ugly, %150 is marginal.

Fortunately to support scaling to support HiDPI displays, LibreOffice now
provides icon themes as SVG. The SVG are scaled and then saved in bulk to new
PNG corresponding to the UI magnification.

Give the SVGs a test from Tools -> Options -> View: 'Icon Style' droplist then
close and reopen LibreOffice--a new SVG derived icon set will be built for the
UI magnification set.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126524] New: Default unnamed data series name longer than in Excel

2019-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126524

Bug ID: 126524
Summary: Default unnamed data series name longer than in Excel
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: libreoff...@nisz.hu

Description:
If there is an unnamed data series in a chart data source then the default
placeholder name is much longer than in MSO. This can affect the layout of the
chart.

Steps to Reproduce:
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attached file in Word and recent Writer

Actual Results:
The default data series name is “Unnamed Series N” instead of “SeriesN”. As
consequence the chart draw area is a bit narrower.

Expected Results:
Same default name.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Bug ID: 126523
   Summary: Crash in:
com::sun::star::uno::operator<<=
>(com::sun::star::uno::Any
&,com::sun::star::uno::Reference const &)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: framework
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@hp-homepages.de

This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is
br-a1ec90c7-7e6f-4ca9-a628-2660bbbe2535.
=
The bug occurs in a database form inside a LibreOffice Writer document and
leads to crashes without any error message.
The crashes seem to occur randomly/nondeterministic when clicking different
parts of the form. Often it continues crashing on the same data set after
reopening the document until it suddenly works without any changes.
Sometimes the form can be used for hours without any problems before it starts
crashing.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126521] New: Incorrect export to Excel of Calc spreadsheet containing Multiple Operations

2019-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126521

Bug ID: 126521
Summary: Incorrect export to Excel of Calc spreadsheet
containing Multiple Operations
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.2 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stevemfanning...@gmail.com

Description:
I have been working within the LO Documentation Team updating Chapter 9 (Data
Analysis) of the LO 6.2 Calc Guide.

I have hit a particular problem with the Multiple Operations tool and
have been unable to successfully save a LO spreadsheet containing
multiple operations into an Excel file. (I have tried placing the
relevant formula in the top left cell!)

By way of an example you can find a suitable Excel spreadsheet on the
site called www.excel-easy.com, at a download address of
https://www.excel-easy.com/examples/excel-files/data-tables.xlsx. I
opened this file in LO 6.2 and all seemed well, so I re-saved it from LO
as an Excel file. Unfortunately Excel generated errors when opening this
version of the file and the resulting spreadsheet appeared to just
contain numeric values rather than a proper Excel Data Table structure.

Steps to Reproduce:
Covered in Summary.

Actual Results:
Multiple Operations not mapped to Excel Data Table.

Expected Results:
Multiple Operations should be mapped to Excel Data Table.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:

The following are emailed thoughts from Eike Rathke:

The original file for cell B13 contains an element

which expresses the table "formula" as a dataTable type.

Calc when saving stores TABLE() formulas in the involved cells instead,
which apparently was the correct way to do in the binary .xls format but
not in OOXML .xlsx

Screenshot from Excel, while .xls file is opened. The 256 colums limitation is
visible

If excel is opening .xls file (which support only 256 columns), there is no
possible to edit columns above 256 (see attached screenshot). To be able to
edit columns above 256, document needs to be saved in another file format (like
.xlsx).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126520] New: Undo & Redo tooltip texts don't update upon quick successive clicks

2019-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126520

Bug ID: 126520
Summary: Undo & Redo tooltip texts don't update upon quick
successive clicks
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: explore...@gmail.com

Description:
In Windows builds of LibreOffice, the hover tooltips of Undo and Redo buttons
on the toolbar don't seems to update on every click. So the text may get
outdated or misleading.

Steps to Reproduce:
(I use LibreOffice Writer as example, but it also happens in Calc and Impress.)
1. Open a blank document in Writer.
2. Type "a".
3. Press backspace twice.
4. Type "b".
5. Press backspace twice again.
6. Type "c".
7. Press backspace twice yet again. Now you'll get 6 actions in undo history.
8. Click Undo button on the toolbar in quick succession (3 clicks per second or
faster). Observe the tooltip that doesn't change.
9. Click Redo button in quick succession. Observe the tooltip again.

Actual Results:
The tooltips stop updating in such a fast rate. You might see 'Undo: Delete:
"cc"' where the action is already undone. Or 'Redo: Typing: "a"' when the
"a" is already re-added.

Expected Results:
The tooltips should update upon every click even though the click happens
quickly.

Oh you know what, I 1) created a special spreadsheet with the formulas in it
and could not reproduce the issue, and 2) tried to reproduce the issue with the
original corrected spreadsheet and also could not.

I do believe what transpired what that they are using this spreadsheet directly
from drop box and something got corrupted. (Bad idea to use drop box like
that.) And the act of modifying the formula re-saved it correctly back to the
spreadsheet and corrected the issue.

So lets go ahead and close as INVALID. If it pops up again, I will get back.

Thank you all for your assistance and patience with this issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126519] New: UI - Calculation incorrect with VLOOKUP function, will not correct on recalculate

2019-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126519

Bug ID: 126519
Summary: UI - Calculation incorrect with VLOOKUP function, will
not correct on recalculate
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: a...@patternjugglers.co.nz

Description:
Some cells with an VLOOKUP formulas fail to calculate or recalculate correctly,
despite formula being identical to cells above and below.
Issue survives recalculation and save/reopen of file.
Can ultimately be resolved by copying or re-entering exactly the same formula
or changing value in a precedent cell, but it seems unacceptable that it
otherwise remains incorrect.

Steps to Reproduce:
Note on reproducibility - it is 100% reproducable with specific cells in a
particular sample file, but I haven't attempted to arbitrarily create the issue
in a new file
1. Cells have existing, correct VLOOKUP formula, and display incorrect result
2. Other cells in column with same formula (and same value, but differently
located precedent cells) display correctly

Actual Results:
Reopen or recalculate retains incorrect value.
Whereas editing and reverting the formula, or changing precedent cell calculate
correctly, so result cannot be relied on

Expected Results:
Would expect cells with same formula to always return same result

Reproducible: Sometimes

-Windows Version: 6.2.4.2 (x64) Build ID:
2412653d852ce75f65fbfa83fb7e7b669a126d6

Re userprofile: it is occurring for 2 users on 3 installations.

Further details:

Background
1. The spreadsheet is a household budget in ODS format, where we import or
enter transactions
2. Presently 9500+ rows, but performance seems fine (and we periodically
paste values only on old rows to lessen formula load).
3. We assign categories to transactions (eg insurance, grocery) in column C
4. In column J, we have a vlookup function against a named range to provide
a group for the categories (eg Income, Expenses, Transfers)
The formula is =VLOOKUP($C9503,CatGroups,2,0)
5. For the past 4 years this has performed exactly as expected

Description of current Problem
In recent weeks, some of the cells in with the VLOOKUP formula in colum J fail
to calculate.
In an area where it occurs:
• all cells in column C contain the same value
• some cells in column J has calculated correctly from the VLOOKUP,
returning "EXPENSES"
• other cells in column J are displaying 0.00, which is incorrect

In testing I have established:
1. Cell formula contents are identical apart from the relative address of
eg $C9503, which alters by row only
2. Setting calculation to manual or automatic does not fix
3. Forced manual recalculation does not fix
4. Saving and reopening does not fix
5. Opening the file in openSUSE or Windows instances, and by different
users produces the same error
6. Copying an existing correctly-calculating cell from Column J DOES FIX
newly pasted cells only, as does filling down with a drag handle.
7. Manually changing the formula in the cell to something else (eg change
index from 2 to 1), and then reverting DOES FIX.
8. Performing an edit on the precedent cell eg $C9503 DOES FIX.
This works even if the value is unchanged, eg F2 to edit, add a trailing space
then delete it, and press ENTER to save the unchanged value "grocery"

Comments
While the impacted cells can be found and fixed, it is not easy an easy problem
to diagnose, and users should be able to trust formulas to calculate correctly!
