Dear Paulo Martins,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not

Dear russell,

I also never realized that. Anyway, something that isn't seen doesn't exist in
point of UX.

When there are so few Draw tips I would prefer following solution: When there
are 73 Writer tips and 51 generic tips then these tips should be shown first
and only after 124 starts other module tips will be shown, for Draw only after
60 tips, etc. It makes more sense to show other tips then already known tips
more times.

I think none of them is related, because all of them have trouble with "in
background" or what is "behindDoc" in OOXML. But here the problem is because of
the feature "Add Textbox" to a custom shape. Such "Textbox" is a very special
construct, were a custom shape gets properties of a frame.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127413] New: LibreOffice crash when attempting to activate a chart

2019-09-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127413

Bug ID: 127413
Summary: LibreOffice crash when attempting to activate a chart
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: franciscoadriansanc...@gmail.com

Since LibreOffice 6.3 release, I have experienced a random but persistent crash
when activating a chart within Calc.

Now I don't remember if the crash has happened also with the chart already
activated, but it happens with both, Qt5 and GTK toolkits.

When LibreOffice executed from console, when the crash happens, I've got the
following message:

$ libreoffice
QXcbClipboard: SelectionRequest too old
QXcbClipboard: SelectionRequest too old
QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 42765, resource id:
23972462, major code: 40 (TranslateCoords), minor code: 0
QXcbClipboard::setMimeData: Cannot set X11 selection owner
QXcbClipboard::setMimeData: Cannot set X11 selection owner
QXcbClipboard::setMimeData: Cannot set X11 selection owner
LibreOffice 6.3 - Fatal Error: getCurrentController was called on an already
disposed or closed model

The crash happens with any file, but I can upload one example if needed.

Steps:
0) Open calc, fill it with some data
1) insert a chart, and some series
2) exit the chart and continue working
3) try activate the chart

Results
4) Option 1: LibreOffice crash
5) Option 2: no crash, go to step 2) and repeat

Expected
No crash

Regina Henschel changed:

Summary|transparent shape causing |"Autofit text" reacts
   |text to be misaligned |wrongly for custom shapes

There is no "transparent shape", but that is a group. It has nothing to do with
the problem. Ungrouping shows the same error.

The problem exists independent from pptx import filter.

I'll attach an odp-document with two custom-shapes. The left one is from our
own set and therefore compatible to binary MS Office. The right one is from an
OOXML shape, imported from pptx. The text box settings have anchor to center,
the text alignment is horizontal and vertical center. The red rectangles mark
the text area of the shape.

Error: If you enable "Autofit text", the text is shifted to the right.
Expected: The text keeps centered.
[The tool "Autofit text" is not included in the toolbars, you have to customize
a toolbar to get it.]

In the example document, the error becomes only visible for the upper triangle,
because the lower triangle is a freeform (custGeom) and its text area is entire
width and height of the shape. Therefore the text fits into the text area. In
the upper triangle the text does not fit into the text area. In both cases the
text area has a right/left inset of 0.1inch and a top/bottom inset of 0.05inch.
For the upper triangle it is the default value, for the lower triangle it is
set explicitly. For both shapes "normAutofit" is set, which corresponds to our
"Autofit text on".

Albrecht Müller changed:

 Status|CLOSED |REOPENED
 Resolution|FIXED |---
 Ever confirmed|0 |1

Eike Rathke confirmed the behaviour that I consider a bug. We differ in the
assessment of the consequences, however. That's why I reopened the Bug.

(In the history I saw that at 2019-09-04 18:57:20 UTC I had changed the
resolution from NOTABUG to FIXED - I was not aware that I did this and this
change was not intended)

After consulting the "Bug Priority Triage Flowchart Suggestion(s)" flowchart
(https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/0/06/Prioritizing_Bugs_Flowchart.jpg)

I think its priority should be set to "Critical" for the following reasons:

- Loss of data: Opening existing spreadsheets with the new version of Calc
will not reproduce the previous results (which were correct) any more. So these
results are lost.

- Broken core functions: I think doing correct calculations is a core function
of a spreadsheet. There seems to be a de facto standard how spreadsheet
programs deal with date/time calculations. This standard seems to work quite
well in practice so usually you don't have to worry about its limitations.
Previous versions of Calc adhered to this standard. This has been changed such
that you now get results that are wrong in about 50% of the cases. (Think of a
calculator that gives 0 or 1 with equal probability if you subtract two numbers
that differ by one).

It seems to be intended behaviour so I assume that it will appear always and on
clean installs. It affects all people that do floating point calculations on
time values and try to extract date/time-specific information like year, month,
day, hour, minute or second. Trivial calculations such as adding a date and a
time value and subtracting this from another combination of date and time are
sufficient to demonstrate the problem.

Shapes with z-order

The shapes in the attached document have the order Frame1 (z-index 0), Frame2
(z-index 1), Frame3 (z-index 2). But on opening the shape of Frame3 is behind
the shape of Frame2. Only the text box of Frame3 is shown in front of Frame2.
If the document is saved without anything changed, the z-order in the file is
changed to this wrong rendering.

I see the error already in version 5.4.7, I have not tested earlier versions.

Adding Cc: to Michael Stahl

Note: this is not a real regression, because the sections were never correct:
the problem was the their removing previously, see the attached screenshots.

My bibisected commit was reverted, but the problem still exists.

When I revert my other changes with the following patch, saving still changes
the style of the deletion (likely according to the new redline changes made by
Michael Stahl):

diff --git a/sw/source/core/doc/DocumentRedlineManager.cxx
b/sw/source/core/doc/DocumentRedlineManager.cxx

+if ( 0 && pStt->nContent != 0 )
 {
// tdf#119571 update the style of the joined paragraph

In my opinion, the problem was bigger previously, because the actual text
formatting has changed: accepting the changes resulted losing of paragraph
formatting. For example, "chapter 3.3 Exceptions" became a normal paragraph.

I can confirm this with 6.3.0. It is EXTREMELY slow when exporting certain
documents to PDF and almost totally freezes the GUI environment. It did not
behave in this manner before 6.3.0 with these same documents. I have not
determined yet what about the documents is causing it to be so slow, but they
do have a number of sections, graphics, tables, and frames.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127411] New: Broken mouse status in Impress status bar

2019-09-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127411

Bug ID: 127411
Summary: Broken mouse status in Impress status bar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: bibisected, bisected, regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com
CC: noelgran...@gmail.com

Created attachment 153992
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=153992=edit
Status bar of Impress

I was in the process of preparing my slides for LibOCon using Version: 6.3.1.2
(x64)
Build ID: b79626edf0065ac373bd1df5c28bd630b4424273
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; VCL: win;
Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded
, but SUDDENLY!!! a disaster happened: in the status bar, I saw something
frightening - as shown on the screenshot!

I had a revelation (caused by "bibisection" incantation) that that's caused by
https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/c53f3f8f58f55d0978fb968446975856d72a52f8.

How can I survive this??? PLEASE PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP, my life depends on
this!!! (or not...?)

:-)

Yes, I know, but 90% of users, use LibreOffice of distribution, so, 90% of
cases, this code not will work.

Only, add "tip" or note for this.

and add "return" to function.

TorrAB, please do as advised and check your own date/regional settings.
We all open the file with -mm-dd.
So it's up to you to find the cause. Until then, I set to Needinfo.

Some distribution do not include LibreOffice Python Scripting Framework and
propose it as an option e.g. ZorinOS

Some distribution propose LibreOffice Python Scripting Framework by default
e.g.
Q4OS

I assume the help system is not meant to document the various installations and
packages available in Linux distributions.

However the presence of Python macros examples when selecting "Run macros.." is
an indication that Python Scripting Framework is installed. It may be worth
mentioning this in the wiki if not in the online help.

example Python macros are:
Capitalise
HelloWorld
LibreLogo
NamesRanges (New btw)
SetCellColor (New btw, no licence in this one)
pythonSamples

Additional research:
I've checked this memory leak more carefully and found out that the problem is
not reproduced for Build ID: 23ccf16e9e86ecc64367f41f4df695d0a6926d72.

Probably the reason is in 'downstream' build.

Set the status -> WFM.

I would think it is obvious. The two functions are different, and as such one
