[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127681] Installation of LibreOffice 6.3.1 fails when changing installation path
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127681 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |WORKSFORME Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED --- Comment #11 from V Stuart Foote --- So, on my daily driver desktop, I uninstalled LO 6.3 and installed a seat of 6.2.7.1 as a Custom install to a D:\Program Files\LibreOffice directory. I then performed an upgrade custom install to 6.3.1.2 over that. And then performed an upgrade custom install of 6.3.2.2 over that. Verbose logging of all the installs. As OP has been unable to provide verbose logging, and custom install to alternate disk drives is proven to work correctly going to close this issue. For OP, not clear why you are unable either to install to the D:\ location you select in a custom install, nor why your verbose logging is aborting. Could be a physical issue with your D:\ drive, unwritable sector(s) -- probably should test the drive. Also, a good idea to validate the copy of the 6.3.1 installer you'd downloaded--check its MD5 or SHA256 Hash value matches what the project has posted. But, you might move on to the 6.3.2.2 release (again check its HASH). If the installer(s) and the HDD have no issues and you continue to error out of install to your D:\, we can't do anything without the verbose log of a command line installation as above. => WFM -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I am not sure this is a duplicate: I describe unexpected behavior in Writer (uneditable extraneous format search terms) that does not appear in the proposed duplicate (which simply describes difficulties with searching for instances of direct font formats). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127727] New: Converting .xls files appears to shift metadata times the wrong way
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127727 Bug ID: 127727 Summary: Converting .xls files appears to shift metadata times the wrong way Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.6.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: libreoff...@kundor.org Description: Timestamps in a .xls file seem to not have a timezone. Current versions of Excel appear to save Create Date and Modify Date in UTC when saving .xls files, but other software (e.g. exiftool) interprets them as local times. However, LibreOffice appears to interpret them as UTC, shift them to local time, then store them as UTC, which is definitely incorrect. (Equivalently, it may be interpreting them as local time, shifting them the wrong way to UTC, then storing as UTC). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start with a .xls file, with e.g. Create Date 2019:09:20 12:49:52. 2. Convert to .xlsx, either using `libreoffice --headless --convert-to xlsx` or by opening in the GUI and saving as .xlsx. Actual Results: The new file has Create Date 2019:09:20 06:49:52Z. (I am in MDT, with a UTC offset of -6 hours.) I can think of no interpretation where this could be correct. Expected Results: If you assume the timestamp in the .xls was already in UTC, the resulting timestamp should have been 2019:09:20 12:49:52Z. If you assume the timestamp in the .xls was in local time (MDT for me), the resulting timestamp should have been 2019:09:20 18:49:52Z. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 6.2.6.2 Build ID: 1:6.2.6-0ubuntu0.19.04.1 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.0; UI render: default; VCL: kde5; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127725] Find by format is fundamentally broken by extraneous formatting details in Writer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127725 --- Comment #3 from V Stuart Foote --- Hmm, can not confirm on Windows builds. With your STR example on Windows, the font selection is Adobe Garamond Pro or Adobe Garamond Pro Bold, no other weights are installed. And if the Direct Formatting is applied against Adobe Garamond Pro the search would be "a Font and a Style"; a search for font Adobe Garamond Pro Bold would not find a string in Adobe Garamond Pro with Bold attribute applied. In order for us look at the mix of Direct Formatting and Style based content we'll need an anonymized [1] sample document in its ODF archive. Or better an anonymized document saved out to Flat ODF. Otherwise Windows builds the +H Find & Replace dialog's use of Format/No Format is consistent, as is the alternative flow of using defined Paragraph Styles for the find and the replace. But then, Windows and macOS handle font naming differently than Linux distros. Please post up a sample document or two, so we can see if there is a valid issue or just a use issue when attempting to replace some mix of Direct Formatting and applied Styles. =-ref-= [1] https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla/Sanitizing_Files_Before_Submission -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127726] New: Default shortcut keys Ctrl+; and Ctrl+Shift+; (to insert current date/time) clash on Estonian keyboard layout
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127726 Bug ID: 127726 Summary: Default shortcut keys Ctrl+; and Ctrl+Shift+; (to insert current date/time) clash on Estonian keyboard layout Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mihh...@gmail.com Blocks: 107243 Issue is similar to bug 88027, bug 126085 & bug 126888, but for Estonian locale/layout. Like German, Finnish and many other layouts, Estonian keyboards don't have a ";" key - that physical key is instead allocated for the letter "ö" and the semicolon character is being produced by Shift+comma instead, and colon by Shift+period instead. Thus, in Calc, there is clash between default shortcuts Ctrl+; for inserting current date and Ctrl+Shift+; for current time: only current time can be inserted by keyboard shortcut, as Shift has to be pressed anyway to get ";". Tested with LibO 6.3.1: - in Linux (Arch/KDE5) pressing Ctrl+Shift+, (== Ctrl+;) inserts current time, - in Windows (10) the same shortcut does nothing. (Should it then be two separate bug reports?) For comparison, in Excel (2010) with Estonian locale: Ctrl+Shift+, (== Ctrl+;) inserts current date Ctrl+Shift+. (== Ctrl+:) inserts current time Referenced Bugs: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107243 [Bug 107243] [META] Locale keyboard shortcut issues -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127725] New: Find by format is fundamentally broken by extraneous formatting details in Writer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127725 Bug ID: 127725 Summary: Find by format is fundamentally broken by extraneous formatting details in Writer Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.5.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: alexis.di...@pdx.edu Description: In recent versions of LibreOffice Writer (since at least 6.0, if not 5-point-something) find/replace using formats is unusable, because unmodifiable extraneous formatting details are included in the find formatting which preclude a positive match. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open blank document (or existing document with formatting as I describe below), and type a few lines of text. 2. Select a few words within the text, and set font to 'Adobe Garamond Pro' and style to 'Bold' (on my system there is no such font) 3. Open the Find & Replace dialog, leave the 'Find' and 'Replace' fields blank. 4. Click 'Format...' 5. Select the 'Font' tab, and set font to 'Adobe Garamond Pro Bold' (naturally you may, or may not have this font on your system, bug works with other font values), set style to blank (i.e. *not* to 'Regular', 'Italic', etc.), and click 'OK' 6. Pay close attention to the formatting descriptor below the 'Find' field: it contains kerning, indent left/right, and from top/bottom values that you did not explicitly set. Actual Results: Find or Find/Replace using Format... does not result in any positive matches. Example: I want to search for instances of the font 'Adobe Garamond Pro Italic' (of which there are many instances in a legacy document I have, although this font is not installed on my system), and replace with 'Adobe Garamond Pro' (which is installed on my system) and with the 'Italic' style. However, instead of searching only for text formatted as 'Adobe Garamond Pro Italic', LibreOffice—without any other input on my part telling LibreOffice to do so—will only search for 'Adobe Garamond Pro Italic, Kerning 0 pt, Indent left 0.0 inch, Indent right 0.0 inch, From top 0.0 inch, From bottom 0.0 inch'. It is seemingly not possible to edit these extraneous formatting directives. For example, while I can go to the Indents & Spacing tab in the Search for formatting dialog, and set, say, a value of 1.0 inch for Indent left (which is just as useless a search value as 0.0, since my indentation varies throughout my document), I cannot change Indent left to a blank value without it immediately reverting to '0.0 inch' when I tab to the next field or click OK. This extraneous formatting results in zero positive hits with Find and with Find/Replace. Expected Results: andI expect Find and Find/Replace using Format... to not unavoidably introduce extraneous and unremoveable search parameters which effectively break searching by format. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: I have written out the above example on ask.libreoffice.org here: https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/208926 I have included a screenshot and in the comments an LO confirms the bug ***on .deb packages only.*** I am using LibreOffice Writer on Ubuntu 19.4, although I saw the same behavior on Ubuntu 18.10. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127724] New: Multiple instances of LibreOffice from separate machines (shared homedir) not working
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127724 Bug ID: 127724 Summary: Multiple instances of LibreOffice from separate machines (shared homedir) not working Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.6.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: er...@mcalvin.com Description: If I try to open another instance of LibreOffice on another machine (with my home directory shared via NFS), when one is already running, the second instance only flashes the LibreOffice splash banner (like it is stuck in a loop). In another environment that I have, which is running an older version, 6.1.5.2-lp150.2.10.1.x86_64 (this is an openSUSE 15.0 Leap package in both environments), it works correctly by first telling me that another instance is accessing my personal settings, and asking if I want to continue. Note that if I start libreoffice on the second instance in safe mode, it works. I have already reset my libreoffice profile and that did not correct the issue. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start LibreOffice on machine A (homedir is on NFS) via 'libreoffice' command. 2. Start 2nd instance of LibreOffice on machine B (homedir is on same NFS volume) via 'libreoffice' command. Actual Results: 2nd instance won't start, looks to be stuck in a loop and just showing the splash/banner over and over. ps shows that oosplash is spawning soffice.bin over and over again (PID changes for soffice.bin but not oosplash during every iteration of the splash banner flashing). Expected Results: LibreOffice shows warning 'Either another instance of LibreOffice is accessing your personal settings or your personal settings are locked Do you really want to continue?' Selecting 'Yes' allows you to start the 2nd instance LibreOffice. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: -LibreOffice profile was reset but it did not correct the issue. -Starting libreoffice --safe-mode allows the 2nd instance to start. -disabling openGL did not fix the issue. -Both machines are openSUSE 15.0 Leap (x86_64) with the libreoffice package from that distro.
