We could introduce the option "A1 always on top" and have negative values like

   -C -B A +B +C
-3
-2
-1
+1 x
+2
(you never see negative values when the cursor moves, only with scrolling)

But I'm still rather for WF.

RESOLVED WORKFORME is better: "The problem used to be reproducible, but it is
not anymore with the latest version of LibreOffice. Unlike FIXED, exact fix

The user-defined category is taken into paragraph styles as children of
Caption. So far so good - you can edit the name, delete, modify. However, none
of those changes are taken back into the list at the caption dialog. Seems it
takes predefined/hard-coded values plus what's in the document.

Hi!

I tried with new profile with the same result. I have the same result either
with 6.3.x and 6.4.x.
I couldn't locate option 'Use OpenGL for all rendering'. I guess it is not used
in my case. There are also no such file /cache/opengl_device.log in new as well
as in old profile.
'Allow use of OpenCL' option is unchecked and I can't activate it. There are
also no files /cache/opencl_devices.log and opencl_profile.xml in the
installation or profile folder.

Similar error appeared some time ago in chart component and it was related to
gtk. I guess it was this one
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123013 however in that case
it was not possible to enter values at all.

As you can see from comments this problem affects not only my PC.

Dear Alessandro Tassi,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Hi,
This is the first LibreOffice bug I am working on.
I will start looking into the source code for new possible unit tests. If a
more experienced contributor could point me to relevant parts of the code to
test and/or give me unit tests idea that would be appreciated!

They are not the same. The O fonts are the original ones, whereas the G fonts
are modified to include Graphite features, see https://numbertext.org/linux/.

Under Windows you get the G version, because that what is bundled with LO.
Under Linux you're not using the TDF build of LO, but the build supplied by
your distro, and it's their decision to not follow our font bundling. So what
you get is the original O version from the system fonts-linuxlibertine package,
which has nothing to do with LO. There's nothing we can do about it.

> Steps to Reproduce:
> 1. Create a ODT document on Windows with Linux Biolinum G font with LO 6.3.1

The solution is simple: Just download the G version of the font and install it
on your Linux system.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127752] New: Lines cut off or hidden after reflow due to adding/removing footer in two-column page

2019-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127752

Bug ID: 127752
Summary: Lines cut off or hidden after reflow due to
adding/removing footer in two-column page
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eyal...@technion.ac.il

Reproduction instruction

1. Open the attached document. It has a Heading 2 line just before the end of
the first (rightmost) column on the first page; that line's text is "Third H2
line".
2. Be in Page Layout view.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the first page.
4. Create a Footer (default settings; either using the Footer pop-up at the
bottom of the page, or through the menus: Format|Page|Footer). The "Third H2
line" has reflowed to the second (leftmost) column on the first page.
5. Delete the footer (either using the drop-down menu of the Footer pop-up box,
or through the menus: Format|Page|Footer).

Expected outcome

After the footer is created, all lines of text are fully rendered, somewhere.

After the footer is deleted, The "Third H2 line" is again rendered at the
bottom of the first column. Also, the top of the first column, with a "First H2
line" line, is visible.

Actual outcome
--

After the footer is created, the bottom line of text is cut off in mid-line,
i.e. only the top part of it is rendered. See attached screenshot.

After the footer is deleted, there seems to be no reflow, but rather some weird
sort of up-shifting of the entire text area, of both columns. Additionally, the
upper lines of the two columns are now hidden behind a white area - the margin
perhaps?

If we save the document, close it and reload, the rendering is valid again.

hello, any news for this bug?

i think it's a very important missing feature, especially if you are working
with multiple languages, for example:

1. your interface language is English (so we can easily get help from
internet), but you want to write your document in your language, more problem
if you are working on many devices, you cannot simply change language of every
computer you use, for example: company, friend, or every computer you don't own

2. when you're writing in language that is not supported by libreoffice,
there's a lot of less known local language that libreoffice does not support,
and probably those language never will be supported ever

If I'm not wrong table functionalities works in Calc, but you need to save the
file in xlsx format.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/5.1#Table_structured_references

Similar, in some way, to table functionalities is the use of Labels in ODF,
(Menu/Sheet/Named ranges/Labels)

Also there is the option to use ExcelR1C1 formula syntax.
Something like (left 1 up 1) = =R[-1]C[-1]

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127645] LibreOffice Crashes or Freezes, if an Update of an Extension is Available

2019-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127645

(In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #11)
> Harald: would it be possible you attach a backtrace? (see
> https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport/Debug_Information#Windows:
> _How_to_get_a_backtrace)

Yes, I will try to do this but it may take some time, because I have not done
this yet.

Meanwhile I produced a crash report with version 6.3.1.2:

crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/f81445af-6a20-4e4d-8ffb-a3a05c558f5b

This report was created at step 6 of the original report. With version
6.4.0.0.alpha0+ there was no request for sending a crash report.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127344] Idle LibreOffice consumes 100% CPU on i386

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

The short answer: the bug is still present in safe mode.

Long answer:
* installed Debian Buster/32 Bit from scratch on a newly created VirtualBox
6.0.12 VM
* installed all Debian updates, and the VBox guest additions
* removed all libreoffice deb's installed during the Buster install
* downloaded the packages LibreOffice_6.2.7_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz and
LibreOffice_6.2.7_Linux_x86_deb_langpack_de.tar.gz (just to be sure, if
i18n/l10n makes any difference), and installed all deb's from both
* launched libreoffice6.2 from a terminal
* selected from the menu (German Locale) “Hilfe -> Im abgesicherten Modus neu
starten…” and from the dialogue “Im abgesicherten Modus fortfahren” (= “safe
mode”)
* opened a new Writer document; window title says “[…] abgesicherter Modus”
* leave Writer idle for ~35 minutes: soffice.bin goes to 100% CPU in top

Note 1: compared to the earlier tests in normal mode, it took longer for the
issue to pop up in safe mode. As this is just a single test, I don't know if
this is of any significance, though.

Note 2: on the MacBookPro5,5 (which is my wife's “production” machine, so I
could not run the safe mode test there yet), the effect occurred on a freshly
installed system, i.e. with a default profile.

Dieter,
thanks to have a look on the bug report. I was able to reproduce the bug. Test
file is attached. The paste from clipboard get broken. When I copy the heading
text. The paste picture into the MS Paint works. The source of the copy picture
is SnippingTool.exe.

Procedure:
1, Run SnippingTool.exe.
2, Make screen and copy into the clipboard.
3, Insert picture into the document. (Works)
4, Copy heading text "Example".
5, Insert heading text.
6, Make screen from SnippingTool.exe and copy into the clipboard.
7, Insert picture into the document. (Doesn't Works). It paste the heading text
instead of the picture.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127633] Relative Cells

2019-09-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127633

Actually the only thing I can think of that would make this simple and not blow
up in complexity is to support a relative referencing from the current cell you
edit the formula in, which will immediately change.

Something like (left 1 up 1) (right 2 down 4). If the cursor is
in cell C13 this would be replaced immediately with B12 and E17.

BTW. implementing Table functionality from Excel would solve some of the issues
as with Tables you can reference with the named column or row and with
auto-completion this gets easy.

Adding such a button to the 'Pick a Color' dialog is a good idea. But the
dialog already is very high. Can we add the button without making the dialog
bigger?

I like the button name in your mockup, Heiko, as it describes what the command
does. A short 'Capture' or 'Add' will not be understood. After clicking on
that, the 'Name' dialog opens as it does when adding a custom color via the
Area color tab?
