Dear Thomas Lendo,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Dear Vladimir Rutsky,

Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127831] New: recalculate vs. random functions in Calc

2019-09-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127831

Bug ID: 127831
Summary: recalculate vs. random functions in Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: turbobehol...@mail.ru

Description:
In 6.0 and 6.1 RANDBETWEEN(X,Y) generates a new value only when its own cell is
recalculated (F9), while RAND() generates a new value when any cell is updated
by F9 or even a value entered in any cell.
In 6.3 RANDBETWEEN(X,Y) also generates when any cell is updated.
Could this behavior be set in options, please?
It's not always convenient to randomize everything (and then recalculate
everything downstream) all the time; explicit refresh allows to play with
constants vs. a given set of random values for debugging formulae, and/or
generate only for a specific part of the table.
Also, needless recalculation as such probably isn't good for performance on
huge spreadsheets.

I occasionally defined small cell groups to be randomized, via constructs like
A3«="Group 1"», B3 «=RANDBETWEEN(1,10)+0*LEN($A$3)». It's a roundabout way to
do things, of course, but controllable, easy to paste around and transparent
(thanks to cell highlight).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter '=RANDBETWEEN(1,10)' into one cell, '=RAND()' into another.
2. Enter some value into third cell.
3. Recalculate (F9( the third cell.

Actual Results:
Values are recalculated even when a given cell or its dependencies didn't
change.

Expected Results:
Values are recalculated when a cell or any of its dependencies change.

Reproducible: Always

Print dialog with empty space marked red

I have also tested with 800x600 on Windows, and confirm that it actually is
scrollable there.

The attachment shows the area I meant, marked by red rectangle.

Hi Xisco, to repair the old document, you need to open the OLE for edit and
then resave the file. When you then open the document, it should be OK.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127830] New: Visual garbage scroll down when bottom of window off screen

2019-09-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127830

Bug ID: 127830
Summary: Visual garbage scroll down when bottom of window off
screen
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0 all versions
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jcarsten...@gmail.com

Description:
When the bottom of the body (not just the bottom status line) is below the
bottom of the screen and I scroll down rapidly (with both mouse wheel and with
dragging the scroll bar, the display does not show correctly. The effect is
always an occasional bit pasted over the correct text. What overlies it
varies, sometimes a black or white bar and at other times something from the
text such as partial (top or bottom or while lines) - it looks like it might be
grabbing something and repeating it.

The repeated garbage is the same even if I scroll back up and down, but if I
move the window and do it again, it's different garbage.

Same is true if the top of the window is too high (using another monitor to get
it there) and scrolling upwards.

Another oddity - I have two monitors. I can reproduce this every time on my
main monitor, and never on my second monitor.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have a long document
2. Move the writer window so that the main body part that has the test is
partially off the bottom of the screen.
3. Scroll down rapidly.

Actual Results:
Parts of the body are obscured by repeated blocks that look like they are
screen captures of about a line of text. The block is the same each time,
until the window is moved.

Expected Results:
Shown the text in the document.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Thank you b, that is all very well said.

I did go back to 6.2.7.1, with backups and all that. And I will keep your
advice in mind, if I see strange results. It probably happened already, but the
project seems to be quite stable now, even with threaded calculations enabled.

I only tried 'dev' versions so that my reports can be as accurate as possible.
And I mainly use Linux to work on this project...

Best tegards,

Screenshot with gtk3 VCL plugin and resolution 800x600

Attached screenshot was taken with gtk3 plugin and laptop screenshot set to
800x600 resolution using master (native resolution: 1920x1080).

For me, the dialog is scrollable, i.e. it seems to be at least usable on
screens with lower resolution as well.

I currently don't have Windows at hand to test there.

@Mike: Can you be more explicit about the "large whitespace" you're referring
to (e.g. mark that area in a screenshot)?

What do you mean by "cascaded hierarchical styles" ? I'm just a applying a
paragraph style to a paragraph, that's all. Ok, styles are hierarchical and
cascaded in a sense, i.e. each style is based on some other style except for
the Default Style, but I don't think that matters here.

> but only the

Why? No. I want all direct formatting of that paragraph to vanish. Wipe the
slate clear. At most I'm willing to accept applications of Character Style.

Description:
Some Start Center layout reworking.

now we have very strange situation with selecting of controls in Start Center
(for me of course)
by default we have two selection: one for button "Open File" and second is
drop-down list "Recent Files"
and if you'll move mouse point over buttons then you'll see select effect on
buttons (see screenshot, button "Calc Spreadsheet")
It's very confuse me now
and we have two main groups of controls - buttons for actions (open, create
docs by modules) and controls for filtering of content in Start Screeen (Recent
Files and Templates)
but controls for filtering are between two button's groups
and two from these groups don't have labels

So I suggest to make some changing in Start Screen layout (see attach)

The massive amount of lt_tag_convert_to_locale() calls from
LanguageTagImpl::getGlibcLocaleString() (called from SvxResId/SvxResLocale) and
the time spent therein looks fishy. This wasn't a problem when string resources
came from the old resource system as conversion to the Glibc string wasn't
needed often, but now for .po files the conversion is needed for each resource
string which it wasn't before. The Glibc string can be constructed much quicker
for locales that do not involve a Script tag or @modifier in the Glibc
representation and LanguageTagImpl::getGlibcLocaleString() isn't even called
then, hence it affects only ca-ES-valencia (ca_ES@valencia) and a few others.

We probably want to cache the Glibc string in class LanguageTagImpl. Taking.

Possibly unotools/source/i18n/resmgr.cxx Translate::Create is the thing to look

slow for this language variant case, in which case simply caching on the input

Hi Regina,
it seems it's not totally fixed yet. Now in

Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: d5b7627a0e738c0866b819910153b96b611813f8
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: ca-ES (ca_ES.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

I see the blue drawing displayed but it vanishes if I double click on the OLE
object...

I was intrigued by this, so I tested with Win 4.3 bibisect repo: indeed, the
oldest shows the problem, but the latest does not! This is the commit that made
it work OK:

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/plugins/gitiles/core/+/893fe88469dec5b727d96f8ea1b4edb9e88288a7%5E!/
handle brightness+contrast from msoffice (bnc#875713)

Maybe it got reverted afterwards (could not find evidence quickly).

hello guillaume,

!respect! - huge project,

my suggestions:

while not fixed go back to 6.2.7.1, it's the most stable version i've seen yet,

(since 4.1.6.2)

also try to use it 'unthreaded', i had - very rare - 'err:522' and 'stuck
calculations' (values not updated unless 'hard recalc') also in this version
when 'threaded',

avoid doing productive work with 'dev' versions, i learned it the hard way :-(

(but i hope my problems contributed to the overall quality of the program)

@Xisco

as you and others can confirm the error,

and as you know where it's evolving from,

why not throw out that commit until a repaired version is available?

- other modules may be affected by the buggy patch?

that's an argument, but that all subsequent work implies the defect and may
produce more erroneus dependencies is an argument not! to keep it.

- this commit repairs something important?

then it's urgent to work on it ...

besides: ver 6.2.7.1 win(x64) looks quite healthy at first, it's the best
version i've seen yet, but also in this version i had - very few but i had -
appearences of wrong err:522's when working 'threaded'. the 'threading' module
- 'i assume' - probably still contains some hard to find bugs.

Still confirmed and already in 3.3.0. The problem is the shapes have no colour
and thus cannot be seen. You can quickly make the outlines visible by selecting
them and giving them a fill colour.

The off-topic chart issue is no longer a problem, I marked related stuff as
off-topic/obsolete here.

works fine here in mga7 on both intel based laptop as well as AMD based desktop
(with respective internal graphics) with gnome desktop.

first things to try is safe-mode (run "libreoffice6.3 --safe-mode" from
terminal - and if that works try clearing out the user-profile (use the backup
function from the dialog or manually move ~/.config/libreoffice/4 to a safe
place if you did customize LibreOffice)

If that still doesn't work, try do disable all theming/desktop-integration by
running
"SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen libreoffice6.3" from terminal, again optionally with the
--safe-mode switch.

To install LO, I typed something like apt-get install libreoffice, it checks
dependencies, then retrieve all the packages.

Again Linux LO package from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ are
more for maintainers.

You must type "c" or "continue" until you get something else than:
"...?? ()"

Here are the logs.
I am not sure if you were trying to tell me that the issue was with the package
maintainers of my distro.
the package that failed comes from libreoffice.org directly.

I had already done the suggestions
athttps://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps before I submitted this
issue.

Linux LO packages from official dispo are more for package maintainers.
Indeed, you must deal with dependencies.

If you still want to give a try, first take a look to:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps

then if it still crashes, you can retrieve a stracktrace (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport/Debug_Information#GNU.2FLinux:_How_to_get_a_backtrace)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127828] New: Shaking Buttons (with and without Macros)

2019-09-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127828

Bug ID: 127828
Summary: Shaking Buttons (with and without Macros)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: off...@perfectfitsolutions.at

Created attachment 154600
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=154600=edit
The Video shows the Buttons "shaking"

Hello,

I've got a strange behavior with LO 6.3
In LO 6.2 there is no such problem.

My buttons (German: Steuerelement-Schaltfläche) are shaking and CPU load is
going to 90% on one core.

If I want to execute a macro with that button, I've to click on the button and
then enter Draft-Mode, so that the shaking ends and the macro runs.

I've tried several things to avoid this:
turning opengl, hardwareacc off doesn't help.
Removing the underlying macros does not help (so the macro itself can't be the
reason), buttons still shaking on click.
Trying to change the executing action to "onmouseclick" or "onmouseclickend"
(sorry for bad english expressions) doesn't help.

Even on an portable version it's the same with 6.3.X and works on 6.2.X.

I've discussed this in a german forum also
(https://www.libreoffice-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=6=24187) but of course
without solutions, that's why I write here.

I am reverting back to 6.2.7 and the problem is gone, but it would be nice to
resolve the problem so I can use the newest version soon.

My Hardware: DELL XPS 13 wit Windows 10 1903 (latest Updates installed)

Thanks in advance!
