https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32485 --- Comment #13 from QA Administrators --- Dear RGB, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! I'm running 10.12.6 but, in general, the behaviour is the same: self-crash with no interaction after 35 seconds -- tried several versions and only the older 6.0.x seems ok. Newer versions no longer crash after disabling check for updates. Full details on the bug I logged. Happy to contribute with diagnostic info. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127894 --- Comment #1 from tiago.mon...@gmail.com --- After having logged this bug I went checking for its presence by searching for it. That's when I found (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127619) which looks very much the same -- for some reason I failed to find it before. Following that thread, I disabled checking for updates and now both "actual" versions no longer crash after the 35 seconds: that seems to be the culprit in my case. Please let me know: 1. If I should close this bug and follow up on the other one. 2. If there is any detail/diagnostic I can provide to help fixing this. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127894] New: Continuous crash on macOS 10.12.6
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127894 Bug ID: 127894 Summary: Continuous crash on macOS 10.12.6 Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.0.1 rc Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tiago.mon...@gmail.com Description: System -- MacBook Pro 2015 with retina display running macOS Sierra 10.12.6 Summary --- Launching LibreOffice causes it to "crash" displaying a dialog with the message "Due to an unexpected error, LibreOffice crashed. All files (...)" and a single [OK] button. Clicking the button and recovering the open files (if any) relaunches leading to a subsequent "crash". Applies to both "latest" available versions as of today: 6.3.2.2 and 6.2.7.1. Details --- - LibreOffice self-crashes and no interaction is needed. - I recorded my screen and observed that from the main window being displayed until the "crash" it consistently took a little over 35 seconds. Interestingly the "splash screen" is shown/hidden-away in a split-second (mush less than half a second). - Things I tried: - Deleting the profile at ~/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice. - Creating a new user and using that account. - Running LibreOffice with a user with administrative privileges. - (Re)Starting in safe mode. - Rebooting the system. - Confirmed "use OpenCL" was disabled in the preferences. - It consistently fails the same way regardless of any "cleanup" attempts I did. - I checked all user and system level logs for any hints and found nothing. With no knowledge of any kind of diagnostic procedure, I explored older versions: - 6.0.0.1 seems to work ok. - 6.1.0.1 seems to fail in the same way. - 6.0.7.3 seems to work ok. I reviewed the release notes for 6.1 here (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/6.1) and found a link to this article (https://www.collaboraoffice.com/community-news/recent-mac-specific-fixes-in-libreoffice/) but I have no way of telling how such changes could result in this very odd behaviour: auto-crashing consistently 35 seconds after displaying the main window... :( Lastly -- This is a **very** odd behaviour and I can't recall any recent changes I might have applied to the system -- and I am very conservative in such procedures as you can imagine by the >2 years old OS version -- but there might be something. Any assistance you can provide in diagnosing this will be very much appreciated: count on my cooperation. PS: Thanks a lot for LO! It is an amazing endeavor! :) Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch LibreOffice. 2. Wait for the main window to be displayed. 3. Wait 35 seconds. Actual Results: The main window disappears and a new smaller dialog window is displayed with the message "Due to an unexpected error, LibreOffice crashed. All files (...)" and a single [Ok] button. Expected Results: The main window should not disappear, allowing me to continue any task I was on to. :) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33304] Header / Footer should be inserted into margin, not into text body
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33304 Martin Sourada changed: What|Removed |Added CC||martin.sour...@gmail.com --- Comment #76 from Martin Sourada --- Just my two cents, as this hits me every time I teach students how to style pages. So I'd plead for reconsidering this feature request. 1. I understand that the page margins in LO are counted similar as if they were print margins. The math is easy to follow and fairly easy to understand. 2. I can do the math to make it behave right (it's really easy, unless you need multiline content). 3. If I'd take something as a standard (or maybe better wording would be reference implementation/behaviour) it would definitely not be Word, but (La)TeX -- and well, in (La)TeX, page margins are all the way to text body, i.e. header/footer is inside the margins (add \usepackage[left=2cm,right=2cm,top=2cm,bottom=2cm]{geometry} to preamble and see the result). 4. For most usecases (all *my* usecases) this could be solved by: a) enabling Dynamic spacing by default (companion to autofit height) b) automatically recounting margin when header/footer gets inserted/changed, the math is easy, so it shouldn't be hard to implement (even if you add rules, pt can be converted to cm/in as needed), there could even be a tick somewhere to enable/disable this behaviour (probably in Writer settings, as one user would want it to behave same for all his documents). c) *or* enabling (empty) header/footer with reasonable margin + header/footer height/spacing settings by default on basic page styles (i.e. no unexpected change to text body when adding header/footer, because you would actually only add content to it) 5. Somewhat harder would probably be growing header (upwards -- in UI I would expect a tick (probably radiobutton) called Dynamic margin that would also untick Dynamic spacing and vice versa), not sure though if that would comply with ODT standards... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127633] Relative Cells
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127633 --- Comment #12 from Eike Rathke --- It would be yet another different reference syntax in the context of the compiler lexicalizer and tokenizer/parser (and stringizer). Also clashes between what now is a valid named expression like L1U1 and then suddenly couldn't be anymore would have to be resolved. Certainly more to come.. Regarding "this is an open source project?", yes of course, provide a fully working patch (preferably along with unit tests) and we could happily integrate it. I personally won't invest my time on developing this. Specifically I also don't see the need as the Excel R1C1 syntax does exactly that, just with the slight inconvenience of having to type in the additional [] brackets for the relative addressing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127319 --- Comment #13 from Paul --- Actually I'm finding it nigh unto impossible to do an effective search for superscript, which breaks the whole concept that was proposed.
