[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129623] New: LibreOffice Calc Freezes (sometimes) On Copy, Paste, Selection

2019-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129623

Bug ID: 129623
Summary: LibreOffice Calc Freezes (sometimes) On Copy, Paste,
Selection
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: locr...@strikefc.com

Description:
This is not strictly a "here are the steps to reproduce it happens every time"
because it doesn't always happen but it happens enough - hourly, daily, weekly
to drive me away from using the program entirely

It may be related to this bug:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99623 as it seems the
symptoms are similar but the difference is that I and others in that thread are
not using "CLCL" but still have the same symptoms.

LibreOffice Calc Freezes and becomes unresponsive after a Copy/Paste related
operation.

Previous version of LO it was isolated to only when i was editing the contents
of an existing cell ( double clicking a cell and modifying the formula in the
formula text bar.) If i tried to copy something from that formula and repaste
it while editing another cells formula in the formula bar the whole program
would freeze and would never recover requiring a task manager shut down.

Steps I've tried:
- Upgrade LO to latest (6.3) version - This actually seemed to make things
worse. Prior to 6.3 crashing was fairly predictable when a specific copy/paste
action was done. After 6.3 it seems any C/P operation could trigger the fault
randomly.
- Update Java Runtime Environment (Was 11, Now 13)
- Turn off AntiAliasing
- Turn On Backup of Data
- Decrease interval for AutoRecovery of data (Since it seemed to be crashing
faster than it was saving recovery files even though the /backup folder is
filled with 0KB junk files)

As stated, now it is freezing/hanging up much more regularly and any Copy/Paste
related action seems to be able to trigger it even just copying cells to move
to a new column or even just to paste the format over.

Things to note:
LO is not completely dead. I can continue opening new instances of LO and it
will process them. They will simply also be frozen / not responsive once open.
So LO is able to work in the back but as the user I can not interact with any
of the windows.
If I try to take a screenshot of the LO window when it is the active window,
the system will not capture the screenshot. Other active windows have no issue.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy
2. Paste
3. Freeze

Actual Results:
The entire Libre Office became unresponsive

Expected Results:
Pasted the data without issue and remained responsive

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
One final thing to note is that these are very small files with no scripting
and in fact virtually no formulas. I also experience the issue on big files
with lots of formulas but right now the most recent freeze was using a 3000 KB
file with a .xls compatibility extension with zero formulas in the active sheet
only plaintext entered manually with some colored formatting. A second file
.ods with a single sheet was also opened at the time in a separate window of
size 19KB and zero total formulas, all plaintext and colored formatting.

This sounds more like an enhancement, and as far as I can see there's such a
context menu option in 6.5.0.0.alpha0+
(3f680aef65a158cfbc98c8afd1c3628d7f4f7b83), perhaps it's been added since.
Please give it a try with a recent build.

Like it says in the description, "CLCL is a clipboard manager". If you never
used it, then your issue is not the same as described in this report. Please
open a new report and copy and paste there the contents of your Help - About.
This allows us to know more about your system.

I am the same as the above poster.

Don't know what CLCL is never used it. But LibreOffice calc regularly - daily,
hourly freezes when doing CNP functions.

In prior releases of Libre Office it was isolated to only when i was editing
the contents of an existing cell - IE: double clicking a cell and modifying the
formula. If i tried to copy something from that formula and repaste it the
whole program would freeze and would never recover requiring a task manager
shut down.

Finally I got sick of it and started using OO.

Then I updated LibreOffice to 6.3.x and thought to give it another shot.

Now its much worse. Instead of freezing only in this one specific situation, it
is freezing randomly during CNP operations including just the copy and paste of
an entire cell contents.

This is actually going to drive me to buy excel again :)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127647] Spanish translation is missing in LO 6.3.1.2 Spanish Version - Insert Menu> Format Mark> all options.

2019-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127647

There is a translation conflict between versions LO 6.2.7/LO 6.2.8 and LO 6.3.4
in Spanish. There was a translation correctly applied in LO 6.2.7 and LO 6.2.8
in Spanish. However, for some unknown reason, LO 6.3.4 ignores that translation
and does not apply it to some of the options dependent on the Sub-Menu
“Insertar”> “Marca de Formato”, as shown in the image that I attached on the
date of December 21-2019. On the other hand, the translation you propose for
these options is correct. However, in that translation the word “Insertar”
becomes redundant because we know that all these options complement the
“Insertar” Menu. Therefore, in the translation that we see in versions LO 6.2.7
and LO 6.2.8, the word “Insertar” does not appear in the translation of each of
the options dependent on the sub-menu “Marca de Formato”, knowing that they
branch from the “Insertar” Menu.

Additionally, I believe that the appropriate translation, to the Spanish
language, for the option “Insert narrow no-break space” should be “Insertar
espacio estrecho indivisible”, But, so that the word “Insertar” is not
redundant, you should simply put “Espacio estrecho indivisible” instead of
“Insert narrow no-break space”.

I also have the problem with LibreOffice 6.2.8.2-2/KDE5/Fedora 31 KDE
Desktop/Spins upon this matter, TDF#127642.
I tried by installing Fedora 31 GNOME Desktop which LibreOffice 6.3.3.2.0+ is
bundled with gtk3. And the problem , TDF#127642 has gone.

Why LO has various VCL's ?

I have many files created in MS Word 2003, some of which contain floating text
boxes which have been rotated 90 degrees. I am trying to edit these in
LibreOffice.

When these documents are opened in LibreOffice, the following things are wrong
with the text boxes:

- Their location on the document page has been shifted, the text boxes are no
longer in the exact same place on the screen, though they are the expected size
and shape.
- Their internal text is no longer in the correct rotation, the letters within
the text box are rotated 180 degrees instead of the expected 90 degrees.

If I correct the text boxes in LibreOffice, fixing the rotation, text, and
placement, then when I "Save As" to MS Word ".doc" format, the files open
correctly in MS Word 2003 or later and the text boxes look correct. So I
suspect the problem might only be in the import code rather than the export
code.

NOTE: This is NOT related to OpenGL because that is turned off on my
installation of LibreOffice.

I want to know how to display the date without expanding the cell width.
And when the date is inserted in the Japanese language, it is written as "XX
month XX day" "12月26日" in the cell.
"Dec 26" in English (US) language.
There is no year in any language notation.

i want view this.
If it is a Japanese language, it will be December 26, 2019. "2019年12月26日"
It is 2019/12/26 in English.

What are the settings for displaying the "year month day" in this date-inserted

Text function "0" sets referrer number to 0

We could reproduce the bug.
Take a look at sheet 2 with the attached file. The number that should be 23
will be 0 by the text function
This happens when the referrer uses concat or sum. Some combinations do not
occur, but it is unclear why they do.
Of course I updated to 6.2.3.8 and deleted the configuration file before
checking.
Older versions would be wrong to report bugs.
But even the latest version had bugs. What do you think?
Does this not happen in beta version etc?

2019-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129616

Bug ID: 129616
Summary: EDITING: Support switching of data sources for charts
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: markus.elfr...@web.de

Description:
I have tried the provided functionality out again together with the software
combination “LibreOffice Writer 6.3.3.2-865.16”.

Steps to Reproduce:

Actual Results:
A diagram is displayed based on values which can be modified by the dialogue
“Data table”.
https://help.libreoffice.org/6.3/en-GB/text/schart/main.html

But the button “Data areas” is deactivated (greyed out) in the tool bar.

Expected Results:
I would like to choose an other data source for the chart object.

* Construct an additional table within the current document.

* Refer to an external file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129599] Add Redaction action items into main menu in Draw

2019-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129599

V Stuart Foote changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu

Redaction was implemented as a feature for Writer, Calc and Impress (to save a
copy to Draw ODG for flattening and visual redaction).

The redaction functions _can_ also be applied to any existing Draw document
session, but currently only by activating the Redaction toolbar.

Of course Auto redaction is not available (but probably ought be to to handle
text entries in Draw text box objects, and Fontwork).

Don't know if it would be as simple as just adding an entry to the Tools menu,
the UNO control might have to be modified if it currently opens a new Draw
instance while opening the 'Redaction' toolbar.

Rather than the current controls (Redact, Auto-Redact) on the other modules, a
Tools menu entry for Draw might simply open the Redact toolbar (same as the
View -> Toolbars entry).

Either case, +1 for the addition to Draw's Tools menu.

I think this might unnecessarily bloat the main menu. Besides that, the
redaction toolbar is usable in Draw only as a side-effect (a good side-effect
IMHO).

And when you come to Draw via the Redact command in Writer, Calc or Impress,
there are some small things done, like freezing the content to prevent
accidental changes during redaction.

For Conditional formatting area.
I want an option that does not change the specified range.

Now, for example, I created the format.

Cell B1>100 font style=red and bold
area B:B

After several uses, it looks like this.

Cell B1>100 font style=red and bold
area B12:B14,B21,B202,B299:B500

What is happens...Aside from that, I want to keep the conditional formatting
permanent. It would be very helpful if we could do that.

There are submenus for Indexes, for Comments, for Bookmarks, for OLE-objects in
Writer's Navigator too
There are Section action items in Navigator's context menu for Sections =>
should be move to Section submenu

So I think I'm right. We just should finalize that work and finally to have
submenus for all elements in Navigator for Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129609] New: Checking display effects after the restore of an acceptable table file name

2019-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129609

Bug ID: 129609
Summary: Checking display effects after the restore of an
acceptable table file name
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: markus.elfr...@web.de

Description:
I have tried the provided functionality out again together with the software
combination “LibreOffice Calc 6.3.3.2-865.16”.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I can create a simple chart in an empty document based on a test table from
an external file.
   The display is fine then.

2. I modify a single character in the corresponding path for the data range so
that such a file should not be found.
   https://help.libreoffice.org/6.3/en-GB/text/schart/01/wiz_data_range.html

   The display became empty then.

3. I restored the previous file name.

Actual Results:
I observe that the display is still empty for the chart object.

Expected Results:
I would like to see the diagram from my first test step again.

Reproducible: Always

There is special "Images" submenu for images inserted in Writer in Navigator's
context menu. But there isn't the same for Calc...

I think we should make these submenus for objects in Navigator for all modules
