[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 130863] AUTO-REDACT: Disable 'Case Sensitive' checkbox when the 'Regular expression' option is selected

2020-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130863

Yes, that regular expression works. So there simple solution, when check Case
sensitive, add global flag to regular expression. This solution is used in Find
dialog in all LibreOffice apps. For example: open Find dialog in Writer. There
are Regular Expression and Case sensitive chceck box and works as expected.

Summary: Crash when I type the letter "i" after the letter "f"

Description:
The bug is that, under some circumstances, when I type a word that starts with
the letter "f" then the letter "i", LibreOffice Writer crashes when I type the
letter "i". Maybe it also happens with other letter combinations but this is
the only one I ran into so far. It always happens when the font is Linux
Biolinum G, and doesn't happen with other fonts like Calibri.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set the font to Linux Biolinum G
2. Set the character style to "Emphasis"
3. Type the letter "f", then the letter "i"

Actual Results:
Crash.

Expected Results:
Characters should be displayed without crashing.

I think fonts look are improved since my bug report, and maybe they are not
perfect, however more readable now. I'm not sure if this should be a subject of
your workload, if nobody else didn't cacth a notice :/ Maybe if you really had
nothing else to ammend.. but in such case I will have to agree it has been

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76541] FILEOPEN: Incorrect formula view when it contains 2 equal signs, DOC, DOCX

2020-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76541

Dear Sergey Pashinin,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

1,500-page ODT

Sure! And thanks for your attention to this issue.

Attached is a 1,500 ODT (1.1M words, 5.7M characters).

SLOW:

Version: 6.3.5.2
Build ID: 1:6.3.5-0ubuntu0.19.10.1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.3; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

On my PC:
* To load document: 4.0 seconds
* To enter File -> Print Preview: 2.3 seconds
* To exit, e.g. click "Close Preview": 3.1 seconds

FAST:

Version: 5.3.0.3
Build ID: 7074905676c47b82bbcfbea1aeefc84afe1c50e1
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 5.3; UI Render: default; VCL: gtk2; Layout
Engine: new;
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); Calc: group

On my PC:
* To load document: near-instant
* To enter File -> Print Preview: 5.3 seconds
* Click "Close Preview": instant

I notice the slow one is gtk2 and the fast one is gtk3; not sure if that
matters. I tried switching from NVIDIA to Nouveau display driver, just in case
that was related, but it made no difference.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126904] In LO Calc: Right arrow causes a large unexpected column jump in protected sheet.

2020-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126904

The following updated test result applies to both of the following versions:

Version: 6.4.2.2
Build ID: 4e471d8c02c9c90f512f7f9ead8875b57fcb1ec3
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.3; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Version: 6.4.2.2 (x64)
Build ID: 4e471d8c02c9c90f512f7f9ead8875b57fcb1ec3
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

The original (column jump) problem seems to be resolved when the file is first
opened.
However, after executing the "End of Day" macro, the column jump problem
returns.

This does not happen in:

Version: 6.2.8.2 (x64)
Build ID: f82ddfca21ebc1e222a662a32b25c0c9d20169ee
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the workbook.
2. Press - Right Arrow to column "N". Further Right Arrows do nothing
(expected).
3. Execute "End of Day" macro, then return to Sheet1.
4. Right Arrows beyond column "N" cause a large jump to column "BM"
(unexpected)

Arial font is identified as Serif rather than Sans-serif. I can see this when I
go into Calibre's edit mode. docx files created in either Word or Textmaker

On pc Debian x86-64 with LO Debian package 6.4.1, I don't reproduce this.

Could you give a try to last stable LO version 6.3.5 or brand new 6.4.1?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131362] New: Miscellaneous issues with the Help files relating to Calc functions

2020-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131362

Bug ID: 131362
Summary: Miscellaneous issues with the Help files relating to
Calc functions
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stevemfanning...@gmail.com
CC: olivier.hal...@libreoffice.org

(1) In the syntax definition of financial functions DISC, DURATION and
RECEIVED, it is not clear why quotation marks are included around the names of
the first two parameters. In the syntax of most other functions, the date
parameters do not follow this approach.

(2) The syntax definition for statistical function HYPGEOMDIST does not mention
the optional Cumulative parameter, which is shown in the Function Wizard.

(3) In the syntax definition of date / time function DAYS360, it is not clear
why quotation marks are included around the names of the first two parameters.
In the syntax of most other functions, the date parameters do not follow this
approach.

(4) In the syntax definition of logical function SWITCH, a default parameter is
included. This is not evident in the Function Wizard.

(5) The syntax definition for database functions DCOUNT and DCOUNTA imply that
the Database Field is optional, whereas the Function Wizard shows this field as
required.

(6) The syntax definition for array function MMULT confusingly shows two
parameters with the same name. In the Function Wizard these are differentiated
as Array 1 and Array 2.

The problem is still there with LibreOffice 6.3.5.2 and 6.4.1.2. Scrolling the
example document with the *mouse wheel* is painfully slow.

I see the issue in my three computers. My system is Xubuntu 18.04.4, 64 bits.

Here is the content of the About dialog:

AFAK, non breaking space (ctrl+shift+space) in LO is Unicode U+00A0. So it's
different from hard space and NOTABUG.

Regarding to the wikipedia article, hard space is in most cases the same as non
breaking space. So I don't understand the problem

So it seems, that LO has normal non breaking space. For other signs like narrow
non breaking space (U+202F) you have to use the unicode. See also overview in
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leerzeichen (I only culd find it in German)

Does this solve your problem => NEEDINFO

When I paste multiple lines from a plain text file to Calc, Calc suggests me to
paste these lines as UTF-16, although the plain text file itself is in UTF-8

It looks weird and even dangerous. Is it a bug?

I have tested it with UTF-8-with-BOM files as well. There is no difference.

This is an import failure that apparently always existed but had no
consequences so far. Note that the date format here in LO becomes a
fixed-locale format (e.g. English-US or Hungarian) and not a system locale
format (e.g. Default English-US or Default Hungarian). Since the commit
mentioned that is exported as such as it should.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131354] New: Suggested improvement to Help files that define syntax of Calc functions

2020-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131354

Bug ID: 131354
Summary: Suggested improvement to Help files that define syntax
of Calc functions
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stevemfanning...@gmail.com

As a member of the Documentation Team, I have been investigating how we can
improve the documentation associated with Calc's 500+ functions.

I have noted that there is an inconsistency across the help files with regards
to defining the syntax of a function call. In most cases the basic syntax is
expressed as the name of the function, followed by an open round bracket,
followed by a list of the parameter names separated by semi-colons, followed by
a close round bracket. For example:
- NOW()
- ABS(Number)
- ATAN2(NumberX; NumberY)
There are a small number of function-related help topics which omit any such
information but I will raise a separate bug to cover these.

This basic syntax works well and is, I believe, helpful for the user. However
some help topics extend this syntax to place square brackets around the names
of optional parameters (examples of such functions include AGGREGATE, SUMIFS,
FORECAST.ETS.PI.MULT, SWITCH, GETPIVOTDATA). Other help topics which do not
adopt this approach usually state the nature of the parameter (required or
optional) in its associated text description - there are however cases in which
no statement is made.

I feel that consistency would be highly desirable and so it would be better if
we adopted a consistent approach to syntax specification across all help topics
for Calc's functions. My preferred option would be to update the help files as
necessary to use the square brackets throughout (even if the associated text
already states that a parameter is optional). The square brackets approach
provides information at a glance, without visually searching through text.

I realize that there would be significant work to rationalize this across the
help files but I volunteer to do it (subject only to Olivier Hallot finding
time to provide me with a tutorial on the mechanics of editing file files!).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 130719] Overwriting Writer styles does not overwrite changes to Marginalia paragraph style

2020-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130719

I'm afraid I am confused. Isn't that the opposite of what help says?

The way that I would understand:

"Overwrite.
Replaces styles in the current document that have the same name as the styles
you are loading.
Styles with identical names are automatically overwritten."

would be that any style in the current document, that has the same name as a
style in the document (or template) that you are loading, would be
automatically overwritten.

So if I changed the Marginalia paragraph style, it would automatically get
overwritten by the Marginalia paragraph style in the importing template.

If that's NOT the case, why would it be labeled as "overwrite" then? I just
don't understand that.
