Definitely; and in fact, I chose RAND as the easiest formula allowing me to show the behaviour; I didn't think about ={6;4;2;5;3}. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131442 --- Comment #4 from Eike Rathke --- This isn't strictly a regression. The difference is that previous to that commit a repeating "vector" of one value was created (i.e. a range of identical values) that is treated differently in array formulas references. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125268] Wrong text highlight color when export document to doc/docx
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125268 --- Comment #45 from Bart --- I read the reactions and I hope that I can offer something that pleases most of the people here. Of course these suggestions are -again- just suggestions. Feel free to disagree. I have been in software development myself (although more back-end than front-end) and that's why I see this topic from four perspectives: - The Libre Office standard user - The Libre Office sophisticated user - The Microsoft Word user - The Libre Office developers (last but not least) To address the concerns that I noticed, I changed the image that I had made and I added a few lines and a few buttons. (That's image "HighlightAndShading2.png") That screen however, gets too detailed for me as a user. I no longer see what's relevant and what's not. That's why I made image "HighlightAndShading3.png". Now only Highlight Colors are initially shown. After clicking "More Colors (= Shaded Colors)" the user also gets to see the Shaded Colors. The user can either get what he gets now, OR the user can get something with both Highlighted and Shaded (like in "HighlightAndShading3.png"). Which of the two the user gets is not up to me, but since the user already choose for Shaded Colors, showing the Highlight Colors also may be redundant. BTW, I think there's a nice undertone in the sentence: "Other word processors may or may not fully supported Shaded colors". To me this sounds as if Microsoft only offers regular chocolate, while Libre Office offers Cherry Chocolate. :) I suspect that most standard users will choose a Highlighted Color, while most sophisticated users may choose from a Shaded Color. I also expect sophisticated users to be aware of compatibility topics better. The buttons "More Info" could give some explanation and warnings about compatibility and exporting. Maybe it could explain how to remove Shaded Colors in Word. Although ... I'm not sure if it's the responsibility of Libre Office to explain how Word works. Although again ... there may be less questions on forums if this information is added, and less users moving away from Libre Office. I hope that this suggestion also makes it easy for developers to decide if a piece of text should be stored as Highlighted (and be supported by Word), or if it should be stored as Shaded (only partly supported by Word). I hope that this way users are better aware that there are Highlighted Colors and Shaded Colors, even if the two are the same in the document itself. I do see one important difference: Highlighted Colors can easily be changed in Word, while Shaded Colors are less easy to change in Word. For me as a user, screens like this will avoid confusion and surprises. Again, this is just a suggestion. It's up to others what to do with it. I hope it's an elegant solution. If not, I'm perfectly willing to polish it or to come with alternatives. Feel free to shoot at it, but please be kind when shooting. :D PS: An idea popped up how to persuade users to save their documents as .odf and how to persuade MSO to change their behavior at any time. It's exactly where compatibility issues arise, but I think it's better if I post that as a separate suggestion. Regarding the "Libre Office standard user", a senior friend of mine uses Libre Office. His documents were always saved as .odt. Before traveling he always emailed his itinerary to friends and family. Many of them would be struggling to open his documents and he got a lot of unpleasant emails back. When he asked me for help I explained what had happened. On his request I changed the settings and now his documents are saved as .doc by default. Regarding the buttons "more info", when updates went into production at work, I often sent an email to the users with the most important changes, only to find out ... that nobody ever read them. So I did it differently. On the screens that I had changed I added buttons "more info" with the most important information about that screen and their fields. When clicking these buttons, users would get the information they needed, when they needed it, and not more not less. They loved it. I got less emails and phone calls, so hehe, I loved it too. :D (That's also the idea behind buttons "More info" in the images.) In Word version 14 I could only find one way to remove shaded color. I select the text, cut it, and choose "paste unformatted text" somewhere without shaded color. Maybe there are other ways, but this is the only way I found. Regarding the terms "Highlighted Colors" and "Shaded Colors", for me, "Highlighted Colors" are compatible with Word documents. "Shaded Colors" are less compatible with Word. As a developer I try to keep solutions simple and easy. I know that that's not always possible, but very often when I choose sophisticated solutions, they would bite-me-in-the-butt later. :p -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the

I'm editing a document in Writer, which originally had been imported from a .docx but has since undergone a lot of editing in earlier versions of LO writer. It's an RTL document, with text in Hebrew. I was messing with the selection - I vaguely remember using Shift+Arrow keys and perhaps just arrow-key movement, or Cltr+Arrow key at some point - can't remember exactly. Anyway, I ended up deselecting, perhaps via typing another character, and - some of the selection rectangle persisted and didn't disappear. Now, it's just "in there"; if I scroll back and forth, it scrolls with the text, including when I scroll it out of and back into view. Typing doesn't change its location though - so I can repalce the text under it. I can also make other selections - that doesn't affect it. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131631] New: Copy/Paste in Calc Results in image paste, not contents paste
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131631 Bug ID: 131631 Summary: Copy/Paste in Calc Results in image paste, not contents paste Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.1.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: larrywbrad...@gmail.com Description: Roughly 50% of the time when I click in a Calc cell and Ctrl-C then Ctrl-V it pastes a picture of the contents of the cell instead of the actual contents. For example, if the cell I am copying contains the number 2500, I select the cell, invoke ctrl-c, go to an empty cell and invoke ctrl-v, instead of pasting the actual number, it pastes a picture of "2500". I delete the picture, re-do the action and it then pastes the cell contents. Before you ask, I am not hovering on the cell to be copied or highlighting it as you would do to move the contents, I simply left-click on it, then do ctrl-c and for some reason the clipboard records the action as a picture to be pasted. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click on cell. 2.Ctrl-C 3.Go to empty cell. 4.Ctrl-V Actual Results: Often results in placing the copied contents in clipboard as a picture, then, when pasting it pastes as a picture. After deleting the pasted picture, repeating the copy/paste produces the correct result, which is pasting the contents as a number, not as a picture of the number. Expected Results: Selecting the cell and copying the contents should copy the contents to the clipboard as something other than a picture. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131629] New: Requested feature: table header for multipage table with conditional text
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131629 Bug ID: 131629 Summary: Requested feature: table header for multipage table with conditional text Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: sergio.calleg...@gmail.com Description: When a long table is needed, spanning more than one page, it is good to be able to repeat the first row of the table (or the first rows of the table) for greater clarity and indeed LibO provides this behavior. However, it would be particularly good to be able to slightly vary this text depending on the page. For instance suppose that the first row contains the table title. It would be great to have it repeated on the second page with the word " (continued)" attached to it. IMHO, this result could be obtained in various ways, I am proposing two: 1) Conditional text LibO already has the idea of a conditional text. However, it is unclear what can be used as a boolean condition. If one could write something like "page eq page(reference(sym))" there would be the possibility of setting a reference in the first row and then add in the same row a piece of conditional text so that some text is shown when the row is printed on the same page where the reference is set and some other text is printed in other pages. 2) Rows that can be hidden One could write all the rows that may be needed and then have an option to conditionally hide them (Only show row in first page, always show row). Steps to Reproduce: See description Actual Results: See description Expected Results: See description Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: en-US Module: TextDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Linux (All) OS is 64bit: yes -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
