Did you change the format of the column? It will only show 2 decimal places by
default, but when I change it to four decimal places it will show the expected
result here.

Yes, it does help. I have just successfully obtained a merged document by using
the "Save Merged Documents" on the toolbar you pinpointed.

Thank you. Now I have at least one way to continue using the "Mail Merge"
functionality. I should say however that this change of the mail merge workflow
is far from being obvious at least to those who had been using the old workflow
for quite some time.

There is no separate dialog, but the actions you mention are available by

Does that help?

Up to the step 4, all looks normal. At step 4 (Create Salutation), the "Next>"
button is greyed out. The "Finish" button is not greyed out -- see the attached
screenshot.

When I click on the "Finish" button, the dialog closes and nothing happens. In
versions before 6.3.3.2, I used to get a subsequent dialog with "Save Merged
Document", "Print Merged Document" and "Send Email Message" options. The step 5
dialog does not appear anymore.

If I select "This document should contain a salutation" and then unselect
"Insert personalized salutation", I successfully proceed to step 5 where I see
a preview of my document with fields to be populated. On clicking "Finish", the
dialog closes and nothing happens. The fields are not populated. This test was
performed with an ODS spreadsheet as the address book source and LibreOffice
6.3.5.2 on Manjaro Linux.

I am going to run these tests on 6.4 in the next couple of days and I will
report the results here.

Dear Laurent Godard,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

current versions have a button on the icon bar to hide the sidebar. One just
has to find it. Would be better to have it attached to the sidebar itself.
That's where you look for it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131911] Launching LO components takes 2-3 minutes

2020-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131911

After bouncing my desktop, oowriter began starting up in a more reasonable
amount of time: ^6s-10s.

Then I received a notice of additional patches (silly me... I thought Leap was
the more-or-less stable version of openSUSE). After applying those, LO was
starting up slowly again (minutes rather than seconds). I went back and
disabled OpenGL and OpenCL via the safe-mode dialog and restarted using those
settings (getting to that disalog took ~10 minutes). At this point startup was
~10s. Not horrible though Emacs starts up almost as fast as vi in comparison.

Q: What desktop components (libraries, etc.) is LibreOffice sensitive to? The
patch set that was applied today didn't include anything LO-related but until I
bounced KDE, startup time was slow again. If I can predict, based on the list
of pending patches, when it's all going to hit the fan, I can defer patching
until I know it's not going to impact normal work.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131946] New: Blurred interface on High DPI screen (100% scale)

2020-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131946

Bug ID: 131946
Summary: Blurred interface on High DPI screen (100% scale)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stephane.guil...@member.fsf.org

Description:
Using Windows 10 and LO 6.4, the interface is blurry on a high DPI screen, even
with the default of 100% scale.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a LibreOffice component after default install

Actual Results:
The interface is blurred, pixelated (icons, text, menus... everything, see
attachment)

Expected Results:
The interface should be neat.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Deactivating OpenGL did not help.

One way to fix that is the following:

1. Find the executable Program Files\LibreOffice\program\soffice.exe
2. Right click and open "Properties"
3. Go to "Compatibility > Change high DPI settings > High DPI scaling override"
4. Tick "Override high DPI scaling behaviour" and change the scaling option to
"System (Enhanced)" in the dropdown.

The interface then looks good after a restart of LibreOffice (see attachment).

This solution was found on AskLO:

I could not reproduce the same effect when just using OFFSET in a different

seems to be part of the problem.

Ctrl+Shift+* it's not the same for LibreOffice than Ctrl+*, this is why it
doesn't work for you, test if it works with the * in a keyboard with the
numeric keys.

That happens also with other combinations in different languages.

I think it has a no simple solution, because there are combinations making use
of the shift key.

IMO the best you can do it's assing your own combination, Menu/Tools/Customize
- Keyboar.

I just noticed that a similar problem exists with adding and removing "View >
Split Window". Neither adding, no removing will flag the file changed.

Since I assume that this is very related to the "Freeze Rows and Columns" bug,
I did not file a new bug, but added it here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131938] New: If a data range is defined in a document, it is partly translated in formulas into the normal cell range after saving and re-opening the document

2020-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131938

Bug ID: 131938
Summary: If a data range is defined in a document, it is partly
translated in formulas into the normal cell range
after saving and re-opening the document
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dschei...@gmail.com

Description:
If a data range is defined in a .ods document, it is in formulas partly
translated into the normal cell range (A1:A30) after saving and re-opening the
document.
This happens in formulas in which only a part of the data range has been
addressed. So in my case with 'data[columnA]' a column of my data range. If you
then want to change the data range, this does not work for the previously
defined part of the data range. Formulas with the whole data range (in my case
'data') survive the save and reopen process.
If you save the document in .xlsx the data part of the data range is kept. This
is also the reason why I uploaded the example document in .xlsx. So you can see
the before/after effect. Please open the document and save it as .ods. Note the
differences in the cells d4, d7 and d10.
It does not matter if the data range is connected to a data source. There the
effect is the same.

Also I am annoyed that I address the whole range with data also with column
headers. See formula COUNTA.
With the exact specification of the column it is done correctly in my eyes. It
is counted without column headers.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Define Range: a Cell range in your sheet
2. write a formula like COUNTA with the name of the range with the name of the
column. E.g. data[columnA]
3. save your document ind ods format.
4. Re-open the document

Actual Results:
The formula is translated to cell area like A1:A30

Expected Results:
still the name from the data range with the name of the column

Reproducible: Always

The extension is not public, i am adding the "typedetection.xcu" which
generates the warning. If needed, i can also submit the source code via JIRA.
The original idea was to introduce an own document filter for a special custom
file format.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131932] Using OFFSET function makes Calc open file with changes to save although not edited

2020-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131932

Yes, anything I left over in the file is needed to reproduce the error. If
either the cell with the formula or the chart are removed, the error
disappears.

Originally there were many more cells involved which referred to each other,
and removing these just like that, made the error disappear, too. So I removed
these cells one after the other by un-linking them with each other, until the
point as it is in the end, only having the OFFSET cell and the chart. I could
not reduce the spreadsheet further without losing the effect of the error.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131937] New: Removing "Freeze Rows and Columns" does not flag the file as changed

2020-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131937

Bug ID: 131937
Summary: Removing "Freeze Rows and Columns" does not flag the
file as changed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: t...@lautenbacher.biz

Description:
When a file had no changes and thus it is not flagged as changed (The Save Icon
is not indicating a necessary save) and then a existing "Freeze Rows and
Columns" option is removed, the file is NOT being flagged as changed. The Save
Icon is not changing status, nor is a Save dialogue triggered when the file is
closed, the change is just being lost when closing the file.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open new spreadsheet
2. Go to B2 and select "Views > Freeze Rows and Columns"
3. Save file
4. Select "Views > Freeze Rows and Columns" again, so to remove it. The Save
Icon does not change!
5. Close file. The save dialogue is not coming up
6. Open the file
7. Realize that the "Freeze Rows and Columns" in B2 is back again

Actual Results:
The step to remove "Views > Freeze Rows and Columns" is not saved and lost

Expected Results:
"Views > Freeze Rows and Columns" removal to flag the file as changed

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
1. This bug is not new and exists at least a couple of years by now, in various
versions of Calc.

2. In the case that you enforce a save, although the Save Icon is not
indicating changes that need to be saved, the change is saved to the file!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131911] Launching LO components takes 2-3 minutes

2020-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131911

I disabled the use of OpenGL (I'd been using OpenGL v3.1) in the desktop
settings -- setting it to `Xrender' -- and reran the command line I included in
the initial report several times. The startup time of the rt_sigaction()/wait()
calls (lines 129 and 130) jumped to ~3:50 with 3:21 being the quickest startup
time.

After oowriter finally started, I looked into the Open Expert Configuration
settings and searched for OpenGL. All I found was two settings: UseOpenGL and
ForceOpenGL. Both were defined as "boolean false".

Until I determine the best way to revert to the previous version, I'll be
looking into having oowriter start automatically when I launch my desktop so it
can take its time starting up while I read my morning email.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122650] blurry fonts of text size and text style lists with a 200% scaling on 4k HiDPI display

2020-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon

So, I cannot reproduce with 6.4 when I use SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf5.
Note however that in this case, the UI does not scale with the Gnome Settings.
The problem is still present when I use the standard gtk UI.
I would like to emphasis again that this problem is actually really minor,
since it happens only when you change the scaling, and disappear when you
restart LO.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83138] Missing help for the "time based charting" checkbox

2020-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83138

Ah, sorry, I see what is the problem now. I had "Enable experimental features
(may be unstable)" enabled in LO Options -> Advanced. If disabling that, the
Time based charting option is gone.

I guess this means this bug report should be closed?

Apologies, I'm neither an early adopter nor a power user, and rely on
LibreOffice for my volunteer work, so I was hesitant to install the newest
version, but I just went ahead and installed 6.4.2 and the text looks fine.
Thank you.

Hmm, that's strange. Here are my screenshots, using LO 6.4.2.2 as well.
