[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122444] FontWork should be available in Navigator

2020-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122444

It took me a while to notice the brief showing of the fontwork name in the
Navigator Drawing object before changing to 'ShapeX'. This was introduced by
the patch that sets the fontwork object and style name to 'Shape' on insertion
[1][2].

Here is a patch, that uses the patch for bug 125191, to provide for the
fontwork names to be used when inserted from the fontwork gallery:

True; as in OOo/AOO, that version didn't import any background at all,
including legitimate yellow; so it looks like the functionality wasn't yet
implemented at that time. However, LibreOffice 3.4.0 OOO340m1 (Build:11)
already has the problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132141] New: selecting heading style does not update paragraph correctly

2020-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132141

Bug ID: 132141
Summary: selecting heading style does not update paragraph
correctly
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rob...@iafrica.com

Description:
When I change the style from "Text Body" to "Heading" the font does not change.

(BTW, what happened to the repositories? I tried to update to the latest
release and could not find the most recent. In fact, even the 6.4 version is
from October last year)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. type a text line and change it from "Default" to "Text Body"
2. add another
3. change the second one to "Heading"

Actual Results:
It seems to change the attributes to the required style, excepting for the font

Expected Results:
Should update all the attributes to the new style (excepting, maybe, if any
attributes were changed manually in the paragraph before the style change)

I should not need to do

Reproducible: Always

Actually, I think that it is completely pointless to show the zoom percentage
(and the pop-up menu for them) on tablets. (We don't show it on mobile phones.)
The zoom values lack any connection to reality anyway. 100% does not mean that
the size of the document on screen would exactly match its printed size (if
printed at 100% on the desired paper size), far from it. Also the plus and
minus buttons and the View > Zoom In, View > Zoom Out, and View > Reset Zoom
menu entries are fairly pointless on tablets, too. (Not shown on mobile
phones.) On touch devices you use touch gestures to adjust the zoom, not
buttons or menus.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132140] New: Themes Support for drawings

2020-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132140

Bug ID: 132140
   Summary: Themes Support for drawings
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kain...@gmail.com

If you draw shapes with LibreOffice Draw/Impress the shapes have by default the
Default Drawing Stlye. If we would have some additional predefined styles see
BUG 132138 it would be possible to change this shapes by change the different
drawing styles.

For example you draw some shapes with default drawing style (tango blue). The
tango blue color come from the default draw template. If there is a second
template which define everything in black/white the user copy the tango blue
shapes into the black/white template the shape will change the color from tango
blue to black/white.

There can be additional templates or maybe an cooperate design company template
be change the template the drawing was using, all the drawing will change and
LibreOffice can have complete themes support like MSO, but the difference will
be that it's way easier to edit the themes, cause you can change them by the
styles sidebar F11.

Ok in Powerpoint you would call them instead of styles, themes. From my point
of view an style change will be way easier as change the full theme. So styles
is from that point more intuitive and easier to edit.

Bee template with Drawing from gallery with different Styles

As also the background of the impress presentation was drawn with LibreOffice
shapes, the shapes follow the defined styles.

for example Powerpoint didn't support styles (Or I don't know how). Would be a
big advantage for Impress cause you can copy stuff/shapes from one file to
anouther and the shape will fit always into the new template.

For sure we (I) have to update the LibreOffice Impress (Draw) templates.

as the gallery stuff will support styles (after the labels are defined) all
gallery items will fit into different themes.

And as Shapes by default use styles, also copy shapes from one file to another
will fit always into the template.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132139] New: Tabbed User Interface Hamburger menu outside of screen when window is maximized

2020-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132139

Bug ID: 132139
Summary: Tabbed User Interface Hamburger menu outside of screen
when window is maximized
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: intelat...@gmail.com

Description:
I am currently using the tabbed user interface. I was trying to find recent
documents, so I clicked the hamburger menu to find the documents. There was no
visible reaction. I switched to a different monitor and noticed the menu on the
other screen.

Able to restore functionality by either moving just ignoring the issue and
moving mouse to other monitor or unmaximizing window (Note: When windowed, the
hamburger menu doesn't switch monitors even when pushed to side closest to the
other monitor.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Calc or writer with either Tabbed or Tabbed Compact User interface on
the left of a multi monitor set up.
2. Maximize window if not already.
3. Activate Hamburger menu on upper right hand side.

Actual Results:
Menu then shows on the monitor to the right of the window

Expected Results:
The menu should expand to the left of the button allowing the user to stick to
the same monitor. When program is not maximized, this is the behavior

Reproducible: Always

can we have the Accent and Status Style labels in draw/impress like we have in
Calc.

If there will be the following styles:

- Default (Drawing Style)
- Accent
  - Accent 1
  - Accent 2
  - Accent 3
- Status
  - Bad
  - Error
  - Good
  - Neutral
  - Warning

Draw/Impress has the same predefined styles like calc for Cell Style. And you
can make shapes with Default and Accent 1, ... Bad , ... copy the drawing into
a new template file will change the drawing according to the Accent, ... style
colors.

I'm thinking on gallery elements like Network shapes you know from MS Visio [1]
where the shapes use the predefined styles Default for the generic shape and
Accent 1 for the Accent stuff. Change the Styles or use another template will
change all gallery elements from Default (tango blue) and Accent 1 (eg. gold)
to Default (black/white) and Accent 1 (purple).

But not only gallery elements can change the design easy, also drawings done by
styles support will change there color.

In writer it's very clear what Default mean cause there is always the

Please add the additional label like in writer so it's clear what Default Style

Summary: The reference via the ADDRESS function should also
work with the table number.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dschei...@gmail.com

Description:
With the function =INDIRECT(ADDRESS(1,1,,, "Sheet1")) I can reference the cell
A1 in the worksheet "Sheet1". But if I don't know beforehand what a user of the
Calc document will call the worksheet, I can't create formulas for example to
collect data.
It should be possible that I can also reference with the table number. For
example: =INDIRECT(ADDRESS(1,1,,,1)).
When I enter a text, the table name should be used, when I enter a number, just
use the table number.
This means the table number which I can read with =SHEET(). What else is this
function for? I can't work with this table number anywhere else.

It would be nice if my wish could be considered.

Stay healthy!

Heiko

I had not find any scroll area you mention on the tests I've made, when the
dialog doesn't fit inside the screen, the accept and cancel buttons where not
clickable at all. I hope you can see it yourself on the provided screenshots

Thanks!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132135] New: Ctrl+mousewheel zooming displays rounded numbers as "###" in column A only

2020-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132135

Bug ID: 132135
Summary: Ctrl+mousewheel zooming displays rounded numbers as
"###" in column A only
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Created attachment 159595
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=159595=edit
Trivial demo spreadsheet showing the bug

If a cell with Number format 0.00 (i.e. two decimal places) contains the value
1234567.894999 it is displayed rounded to 1234567.89

However, if it is in Column A, then at various zooms "###" appears instead.
This does not seem to happen in Column B.

Please see attached demo spreadsheet.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE (if not using attached demo):

1. Select A2 and B2, rightclick->Format Cells...
Click Numbers tab, set format code to 0.00, then OK

2. Enter the value 1234567.894999 into both cells.

3. Ctrl+mousewheel to change zoom.

RESULTS: A2 flashes between the correct display (1234567.89) and "###" at
certain maginifications.

EXPECTED RESULTS: Numbers should be displayed correctly at any magnification.

Note: This might have the same root casue as
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99584
however this bug is much simpler with a trivial demo. If devs think they are
the same underlying problem, I suggest linking that older bug to this one
rather than vice-versa.

Maybe another important observation. When I clear all recent documents in the

The corresponding icons are removed and the CPU load drops to reasonable

I have been battling this bug (of if not this bug a similar one) off and on for
quite some time.

Most recently with Libreoffice 6.4.2.2 on Linux Mint, I can not open a file
from my server (SMB share - Ubuntu 16.04). The program crashes almost
immediately and never opens the file. The program does not crash with
Libreoffice 6.3.5.

I can use other programs and open files including copying files with my file
manager Nemo or editing and saving text files with xed. So this must be related
to libreoffice.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132134] New: soffice.bin runs at 100% load without any user interaction

2020-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132134

Bug ID: 132134
Summary: soffice.bin runs at 100% load without any user
interaction
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mbox@posteo.org

Description:
I have installed LibreOffice per DEB package under Linux Mint Mate 18.3

When I start LibreOffice by typing in the command line
% libreoffice6.4

the main window opens, however:
1) The corresponding process soffice.bin runs constantly at 100% CPU load
without any user interaction.

  PID USER PR NIVIRTRESSHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
 4483 me20 0 1044684 128444 85696 R 100,0 3,4 0:21.22 soffice.bin

The load returns to reasonable low values as soon as I terminate LibreOffice.

2) All menu titles (not the individual menu items) are grayed out.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install LibreOffice_6.4.2_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz
2. Run libreoffice6.4
This is enough. And I get the same results, when runnig LO in safe mode.

Actual Results:
  PID USER PR NIVIRTRESSHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
 4483 me20 0 1044684 128444 85696 R 100,0 3,4 0:21.22 soffice.bin

Expected Results:
Low CPU load as long as there is no user interaction

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Version: 6.4.2.2
Build ID: 4e471d8c02c9c90f512f7f9ead8875b57fcb1ec3
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: de-DE (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

I wonder, if this bug is somehow related to Bug 131444. Rationale: When I try
to open even a small document, it takes quite a while because the CPU is so
busy.

I'm not sure what the explanation in bug 87720 comment 43 is supposed to mean
related to this, but surely this isn't by design, there should be nothing
preventing an object anchored "as character" to be repositioned. This has
nothing to do whether the setting is the default or not, it's still a possible
setting.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132133] New: Can't protect only the format of a sheet

2020-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132133

Bug ID: 132133
Summary: Can't protect only the format of a sheet
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: c...@chrblee.net

I've designed a spreadsheet with particular cell borders, column heights &
widths, and font sizes. Nothing elaborate.

My students have to enter data by whatever means they wish, but without
altering the formatting; for the spreadsheet to be of any use, the appearance
of the data has to remain compliant with a particular pattern.

I can't find a way of protecting only the formatting of a sheet.

Paste-Special, and macros which I don't know how to write (in the absence of an
ecosystem to match VBA), are not solutions for 12-year olds.

Bug 88108 dating from 2015 is nearly a duplicate, but apparently there has been
no action on the necessary changes to the odf standard.

I've marked this report critical because it concerns one of the missing
features that are critical for a competitive position of LO in the educational
field.
