https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132891 --- Comment #5 from Mike Kaganski --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #4) > Could imagine users expect the formatting to stay when typing at the > beginning likewise at the end. So unless there is a good reason not to do > so, let's change this. Just a second! Anything "before formatting" - which is not at the beginning of a paragraph - is also "after formatting". The text looks like this: [text of 1st span ][bold text of 2nd span][text of 3rd span]... And so, if you consider a place *after* a formatting as to continue previous formatting, then you need to realize that place just before 2nd span is *after* 1st span, and necessarily continues its (empty - in this specific case - but anyway) formatting. When you have a span starting at the very beginning of the paragraph, there's no previous span to continue. So - "let's change this" is a bit too quick. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

It might be useful to have a similar feature in Calc too, since Writer already has. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a custom cell style in Excel, save the file. 2. Open a new spreadsheet and go to Cell Stlyes – Merge Styles. 3. Select the previously created file to import the custom style. Actual results: No similar feature in Calc. Expected results: Style import dialog similar to Writers Styles -> Load Styles dialog. Currently it is only possible to save a template with custom styles and then use that for new spreadsheets. Idea is that transferring nice styles from one file to another can be useful in one-off scenarios. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133429] New: Loss of critical functionality - use a single screen display - please restore this
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133429 Bug ID: 133429 Summary: Loss of critical functionality - use a single screen display - please restore this Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: de...@dkeats.com Until recently, it used to be possible to display a presentation on a single screen without tying up the other screen. With the latest releases, this functionality has been removed. This makes Libreoffice unsuitable for many common use cases, not least of which being presenting in Zoom and other applications where screenshare is needed but where some functionality of other applications on the other screen is also needed. Common uses cases include: 1. Streaming where you need to access both the streaming application and display the presentation full screen on the other monitor 2. Video recording from a presentation where you need to control audio and video applications from one screen and Libreoffice presentation needs to be on another screen. Given that these are VERY VERY VERY common use cases, it seems strange to remove this highly important functionality. Other presentation applications allow this, and especially in this day of working from home, the loss of this functionality is catastrophic. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Reason why LO uses symlinks is that the packages are relocatable (and by default install to /opt/ - it is not possible to use plain files in another prefix in that case, so the desktop-integration package creates the symlinks) Distro-packages that change the installations paths are free to change how the desktop files are installed. Today, when I installed the latest one it took about the same time. one thing, just check the second text line on p2 (need to toggle formatting marks to see it). It shows it has 9pt font size. The style tho says it should be 11pt. When I use "clear direct formatting" it does not revert that to style. Even when I open the character dialog and click on reset, it doe not fix revert to 11pt as the style is. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133403] [UI] PDF export options dialog: Usage of term "bookmark" confusing
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133403 --- Comment #2 from zh_CN User Community Liaison --- Hi Mike, Thanks for your comments. (In reply to Mike Kaganski from comment #1) > The tab "User Interface" relates to how the generated PDF opens in the PDF > reader application; so it necessarily operates PDF terms. The "bookmarks" > there is necessarily PDF bookmarks. Sure, with context I agree we should use PDF terms. > But of course, this group could be > renamed to "Bookmarks window", thus clarifying that that's specific PDF > stuff... but do all PDF readers use "window" for that? Maybe "Bookmarks > list"? I don't know either. Personally I'm more unhappy about the "bookmark levels" wording. If it were up to me (and the Chinese translation will look like this if the English stays the same), I'll use "All heading levels exported as bookmarks" and "Heading levels exported as visible bookmarks" for the two options in the "Bookmarks" section. Of course, this is assuming what the Chinese user told me is correct - these two options change which heading styles are exported as PDF bookmarks, and also that they don't change other "levels" I am not aware of. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
