[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133902] I can no longer open Excel files.

2020-06-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133902

I was suspicious of .xls(97-2003 format) files. But this doesn't seem to
matter. I can open it in xls files as well. Some files cannot be opened even in
xlsx files.

The only thing that's not a problem is a file created by Calc itself.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133719] Image Properties: display original filename and path

2020-06-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133719

--- Comment #2 from dihan.wijewickr...@gmail.com ---
I got that menu sequence by mouse Right-Clicking on Image in Writer document:

R-Click on Image>Properties>Options>Name

And Yes, the idea is to add the original filename and perhaps local file path
by default (may need to add a field for filepath).

I think the original name is more important – because in my use case – I can
use that to search locally for the original file.

The original filepath would also be useful, obviously as long as the original
file was not subsequently moved. If this was included then the term "Original
filepath" should be used with the understanding that tracking the movement of
files on the local system is the User's responsibility and that this is a
timestamp of the file location at the time of insertion into the document only.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108442] EDITING: Some content is write protected after delete and undo

2020-06-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108442

Dear Telesto,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

All times shown with minute of (eg) 59 are rounded incorrectly, and should be
rounded up to the next minute, which then gives the value that has been used in
the calculation of elapsed time. In line 1 for example, the actual stored start
time is 5:00 pm. as sebnt, no formatting has been applied to the data, it is as
sent by android and imported into Calc. Changing the formatting of the cells
does not remove the error

lines 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, 13, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 30, 32, 33, 34,35, 36,
37, 38, 43 and 44 all show examples of this error on either the start or finish

The file attached when opened with Calc will show a number of times as (eg)
12:59, all such cases are being rounded, and should read 13:00, the problem
being that the difference between start and finish is being calculated
correctly, but the display rounding is meaning that there is an apparent
discrepancy between the actual times and the calculated time.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133919] New: Import of Excel format data transfer file rounds time incorrectly

2020-06-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133919

Bug ID: 133919
Summary: Import of Excel format data transfer file rounds time
incorrectly
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: i...@huntsgrove.ie

Description:
I am importing a spread sheet file in Excel format from an Android application,
and on some fields, the time captured by Calc is formatting incorrectly, and it
seems to be a rounding issue with the conversion. As an example, a time of
13:00, which calidates correctly in the Android device is converted by Calc
into 12:59:59, and it would seem that the value in the cell is effectively
15:59:59.9, but I cannot find a way to get it correctly rounded in Calc.
The problem is that if the time is calculated using HH:MM format, the time is
shown as 12:59, and then when used to calculate the elapsed time, it is showing
the correct elapsed time, but due to the rounding error, it appears to be wrong
by 1 minute due to the rounding issue.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Excel format data file transferred from Android device
2.Review data sent
3.See rounding errors on some fields

Actual Results:
Times imported can vary and cause apparent issues with calculated times shown
in spreadsheet

Expected Results:
Time that should be displayed as (eg) 13:00 is displayed as 12:59, but time
difference calculation has used 13:00, as the raw value appears to be
12:59:59.9,

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
If needed, can provide a data file that shows this in a number of records, but
I don't have enough information about the internal file structure to be sure of
the diagnosis of the error.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133918

Bug ID: 133918
Summary: FORMATTING, UI: Typing the name of a language in the
Font tab of the Character style dialog does not work
correctly sometimes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: andvaran...@gmail.com

Description:
I'm using LibreOffice 6.4.3.2 (latest Ubuntu stable version) in the
Spanish/Spain (es-ES) locale and finding a very strange bug when changing
language. I'll try to be as clear as possible in the description.

To change language you have to open the Character dialog in the Font tab
(hopefully I'm guessing the names right), then there's a combobox where you can
select the language.

It used to be that one could write in the first few letters of the desired
language, and it would autocomplete to the first matching language in the list.
For the most part, it still works, but there is a catch. If you write "in" as
the first two letters, it gets changed to "id" for some reason. Since English
is written "Inglés" in Spanish, this is rather annoying.

The change to "id" happens regardless of case. By experimenting I have found
another weird change - "iw" gets changed to "he".

In practical terms, this means that you can't pick English as a language when
using the Spanish locale by using the keyboard to search the list. It works OK
when using the mouse, though.

This is a fairly recent regression (probably on the update from Ubuntu 18.04
LTS to 20.04).

I have reproduced the bug by restarting in safe mode, as well as using LC_ALL=C
to reset LO to the default English locale. The same substitutions happen.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select some text
2. Right click > Character > Font tab and focus the language selector
3. Type "IN" or "IW"

Actual Results:
The "IN"/"IW" input gets changed to "id"/"he" respectively

Expected Results:
The "IN"/"IW" input remains and auto-selects the first matching language

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133913] New: Passing a constant to a Basic function changes variant parameter type to integer

2020-06-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon

A test case for broken parameter-type inference

When a Basic function has a parameter without a specified type, its type is
automatically set to variant. However, passing an integer constant as the value
of such parameter makes its type integer rather than variant/integer.

This is a change in LO 7.0 beta1 compared to LO 6.4 and I'm pretty sure its a
bug.
I'm reporting it, because it actually broke some macros I use in production.

A document with a test-case macro is attached.

This bug may be related to
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132563 but I don't think
it's the exact same thing.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133893] : sum function omits one value from list, add two values includes it

Maybe

> b) the SUM function omitted one of the values without reporting an error
Because at least for me it is a text with dot as decimal separator.
What kind of error should be reported?

> c) the add function accumulated all the values correctly
Because only with direct references calc tries to convert numeric text in
values when there are no ambiguity.

> d) if the user hadn't thought the SUM total wrong, he could have made a bad
> decision
Like any other stuff users needs to know how to use the tools, and at the
contrary that it is a way to avoid a number being taking in account.

Use the right arrow on the paste button or go through paste special and paste
as non formatted selecting the proper options to get the right values pasted.

Confirmed on Windows builds

But, the lines (edges of the gradient transition) are visible with GDI
rendering also. So this is not a Skia only issue.

The presentation mode is somewhat clean with 'Hardware acceleration' enabled,
but the presenter's console preview pane shows the gradient edges. And with HA
disabled it is fully visible on the presentation.

This is visible in 6.4

Yes, absolutely unrealistic result. But could you please check if the
bibisect's first bad commit has the same commit hash in help -> about? There's
some hope that the problem in bibisect repo is only with tagging, and about
dialog is unaffected?

Confirmed on Windows build.

No different in Skia software raster mode.

But, also note that on a dual headed system with Presenter's panel
displayed--that the next slide preview shows the bumpy arcs--with or without
Skia rendering.

And, if I disable the 'Hardware acceleration' (so CPU only rendering) both the
presenter's panel preview and the displayed slide are bumpy.

So, this may not be a Skia only issue?

The background is implemented as a shape with a gradient fill background. For
some reason, the shape didn't seem to survive a roundtrip.

The border is "shape lines", and of course disappeared when the shape was lost.

The entire document is in a frame. An inventive design, but one highly unlikely
to do well moving between different formats.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120412] FILEOPEN DOCX Raised text created with Word becomes normal when the document is opened in Writer

2020-06-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120412

(In reply to László Németh from comment #19)

The scripts I know of do not check the number. They _set_ CharEscapement of a
text portion or a character style to 101 or -101 to get automatic
super/subscript escapement, e.g.:
https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?p=425333#p425333 . There is
also
https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/alternative-dialog-find-replace-for-writer
which uses the constants as well. The best solution IMHO would be to export the
constant to UNO or otherwise provide a way to set automatic super/subscript
escapement _and_ to check if it's set to automatic. Probably there is no way to
magically fix the behaviour for the old scripts.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108034] FILESAVE ODT->DOC/X Template Resume moves sections-inside-column outside of the column.

2020-06-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Summary|FILESAVE DOC Template   |FILESAVE ODT->DOC/X

   |of sections and some of |sections-inside-column

   |position|
   Hardware|x86-64 (AMD64) |All

Well, there actually are six or seven sections, because every space in between
two sections is actually another section (since MSO doesn't pyramid sections
like LO does). So the number of sections isn't a problem.

I guess it would have to be proven that MS Word can produce a similar layout
using sections. I wouldn't be surprised if it is impossible for MSO to have a
section in a column. [I just tried with Word 2003, and a continuous section
break takes me out of the column - just like LO did.]

So this looks like a limitation of using MS formats. I'd say NOTABUG, although
it could be argued that LO shouldn't supply a template design that exports to
other formats so poorly - and so take the bug report in that direction.

LO and MSO both COPY and paste separate rows the exact same way. No problem

MSO, though, can CUT and paste separate rows, whereas LO can't.

Open attached file. It has arc shapes. The blue shapes are original arcs, the
red one is converted to curve.

Start presentation. Notice, that the curves do not look round, but have
corners. It seems that only the corners are used and the fact, that it is a
Bezier curve is not considered. I expect subdivision of the Bezier curve in
rendering, same as it is done in edit mode.

I see the error in Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
