[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107748] When resizing window after inserting chart and remaining in the chart mode, there are UI glitches
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107748 --- Comment #8 from QA Administrators --- Dear ccsheller, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. For an example of how it would look, check out the dialog box when you right-click on an image and select Properties / Type. The lack of this feature in Navigation/Styles/... Steps to Reproduce: 1. Right-click on graphic. 2. In Navigation / Styles / Frame Type / Graphics / Type dialog, there is no way to set a default Anchor choice. 3. Because you cannot set Default Anchor for Graphs in Styles, if you have numerous graphics and you want them all to be Anchored as Character (for instance), you have to Anchor and align each one individually as you copy or cut and paste graphics. In a long document with numerous graphics this is a real productivity killer. Actual Results: In Navigation / Styles / Frame Type / Graphics / Type dialog, there is no way to set a default Anchor choice. Expected Results: Feature simply is not there. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133984] Enhancement: Support for real-time, synchronous collaborative editing in LibreOffice (desktop)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133984 --- Comment #4 from Gerry --- (In reply to Aron Budea from comment #3) > (In reply to Gerry from comment #2) > If there are features missing from LibreOffice Online that'd be important > for certain kinds of professional work, wouldn't it make more sense to add > those instead? For complex documents and spreadsheets, online office suites (including LibreOffice Online) are no real option and will not be for a very long time (or maybe never). LO Online needed no less than all the features of LibreOffice desktop while having no time-lag, offline-working capabilities and full interoperability with files saved/opened locally. The following scenario is no future scenario, but everyday office life; actually it is a very typical case: A colleague uploads the draft of a report to MS OneDrive (e.g. 200+ pages with full layout, several tables of contents (headings, figures, tables), several chapters with dozens of tables, figures/drawings, cross-references and hundreds of bibliographic references), and annexes. Five persons collaboratively work in MS Word desktop on this same shared document: One person reworks some chapters and copies lots of prepared and layouted text into these chapters and partly works offline on the document during a train ride, syncing changes back later. The second person improves the figures and tables and has to copy lots of stuff from local MS Excel and MS Powerpoint files and several images from the local file system. The third person reworks the bibliographic references with Zotero. The fourth person works on layout and table of contents. The fifth person does proof-reading and adds comments and changes in the track changes mode. Therefore, I am very surprised that you don't consider collaborative editing an important feature for a desktop office suites. In the 2020s, IMHO this is a must for any desktop office suite to be suitable for enterprises and professional team work. These are typical requirements that need the fidelity and feature-richness of a desktop office suite: * Working with large, complex documents or big spreadsheets. * High performance and no time lag with such large documents and spreadsheets. * Full interoperability with files (documents, spreadsheets, drawings, images) that are saved locally, i.e. edit with external program; import/insert & export/save; copy & paste. * Ability to work offline on the shared document/spreadsheet and sync back the changes later when online. * Navigating and copy & pasting between several sections of a document, but also from other documents or objects from other office modules (tables from Calc, drawings from Draw, etc.) * Ability to use LibreOffice extensions such as the bibliographic software Zotero. * Ability of open several windows of the same file showing different sections next to each other. * Ability to collaboratively work with files that are hosted on file sharing systems such as MS OneDrive, MS Sharepoint or others (i.e. there is no LO Online). LibreOffice desktop is perfectly suited for complex documents like that, but it unfortunately does not support collaborative editing. In this regard, LibreOffice desktop substantially lags behind the competition of MS Office. This is sad, because LibreOffice is superior in so many ways when dealing with complex documents. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133988 Bug ID: 133988 Summary: Stacked chart: put bars for secondary Y axis near the bar attached to primary axis, not overlap Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Chart Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com Created attachment 161994 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=161994=edit Stacked chart with secondary axis LibreOffice allows adding secondary Y axis to a stacked chart. Then two bar groups are created, as expected: only the series attached to each axis are stacked. But unfortunately, the two bars overlap each other (are drawn at the same X position, not near each other). The attachment has two normal (1-Y-axis) stacked chart, and one 2-Y-axes stacked chart with the combined result. The series are formatted to have transparency with horizontal gradient and a margin, so that the result is legible. However, the bars are still overlapping, and so one can't easily mouse-select series to configure; nor can one configure spacing between the bars, or use non-transparent fill. The two bars should be drawn normally side by side, as non-stacked bars are drawn. Green --- Created attachment 161991 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=161991=edit Writer doc. showing an issue withthe behaviour of paragraph-anchored imaghes Version: 6.4.4.2 (x64) Build ID: 3d775be2011f3886db32dfd395a6a6d1ca2630ff CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: default; VCL: win; Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI-Language: en-GB Calc: threaded A similar problem: 1. Open the attached file. The image has been anchored to a blank paragraph. 2. Place the cursor at the start of the paragraph (where the image is anchored). Now add the text "abc" (for example). 3. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor before the "a". Use Shift + arrow, one press at a time. EXPECTED RESULT: When all three letters have been selected, the image should NOT be selected. ACTUAL RESULT: When all three letters are selected, the image is automatically selected as well. This is clearly anomalous because the image was able to exist on its own in the paragraph prior to the addition of the letters, whereas once the letters are added the image will be automatically deleted with the text. The user might expect that if ONLY the text is deleted, then the image, or frame, should remain. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116983] Paste is sometimes deactivated in (context) menu even though text is copied to clipboard and CTRL+V functioning (steps: Comment 0 and Comment 13 and Comment 28)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116983 --- Comment #39 from Telesto --- (In reply to Timur from comment #38) > It would be great if this is resolved, although it will take long to arrive > in release in 7.1. I don't know how Telesto still reproduces. We may keep > open because there may be more duplicates. I would love somebody to try comment 28 and the paste from comment from separate instance of LibreOffice (bug 133533). Yes, the second one is not a real life example.. but need it to be? Surely not a different bug. The only thing I care about is a confirmed reproducer Which still holds on 7.1 - there is IMHO. And a developer who takes a peak at it.. if we finally have some way to 'proof' the issue I reported this in separate reports, to get a conformation or/not.. but it gets marked as duplicate without testing.. or tested and still marked as duplicate of some related bug without STR.. And the opinion changed to 'I don't see this anymore'. Without knowing any testing steps (there a multitude of steps around). Some bugs need very exact steps.. like bug 133975 (appearing, disappearing. reappearing.. superficial bibisects point to Jan-Marek, he gets the blame, and his commits did make it worse.. but the culprit being somewhere else) Marking everything rigorously as a duplicate makes it difficult to keep track. And the paste disabled in context menu is a facet of the copy/paste bug mess. Paste being blocked has probably a different cause. Pasting older copy.. another.. I prefer starting with stabbing the he copy context menu/ ctrl+shift+paste issue (for Windows).. The easiest to reproduce, as far I know... And look for other issues afterwards. The copy/paste bugs should be tackled step by step. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133984] Enhancement: Support for real-time, synchronous collaborative editing in LibreOffice (desktop)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133984 --- Comment #2 from Gerry --- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #1) > Whoa there fella! LO Online is the path for collaborative work--LO Desktop > is not. Plain and simple! > > Not worth the continued dev effort this would require--and this gets my > immediate -1, with a strong push to set => WF > > And, this really is a dupe of bug 73831 which likewise should be closed WF. Thanks @vstuart for looking into this enhancement request. I do not agree with you simply referring to LO Online for collaborative work and disregarding LibreOffice desktop. (1) In a professional setting (e.g. working on complex documents in a team), users need a full-fledged/featured office suite *and* need to collaboratively work on such documents. The competition (MS Word, to a lesser extent Excel, Powerpoint) can do that and and this is an essential and very important feature for working groups. (2) There are two use-cases for collaborative editing: Real-time collaboration and synchronization of changes (e.g. done offline). Both are equally important and IMHO it should be a goal to support both in LibreOffice. BTW, this bug is not a duplicate of bug 73831, as that one refers only to Writer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
