Especially when these differences happen 'hidden' without the user getting a hint. (in everyday life not every user has the time and in complex tables only few users have the possibility to check the results of an operation in detail). in this case it is that 'sort' behaves differently when you call it via [data - sort] than when you activate it via the dropdown-button of an autofilter and then sort [as|des]cending. the selection of the range to which the sort is applied is probably done differently, i mean i saw a very nice hint menu in [data - sort] the other day 'there is data in adjacent ranges if you want to include it' or something like that, and users who accidentally shredded their data with [autofilter - sort] would have been much less annoyed if they had received a similar warning there. Of course, it is a complex task for the usability to strive for both consistency and compatibility with Excel, this may sometimes conflict, is there a 'general guideline' for this somewhere? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134312] New: It does not insert a OLE Object if I save the file in .docx format in LibreOffice 6.0.7.3 - linux
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134312 Bug ID: 134312 Summary: It does not insert a OLE Object if I save the file in .docx format in LibreOffice 6.0.7.3 - linux Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.7.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: pabloredondocres...@gmail.com Description: When I want to insert a file (in my case a pdf) into the .docx document as a OLE object it is not saved. I wanted to insert the file as an icon into the document and save it under this extension (docx). It inserts the icon and the file while it is still open, but when I save it I realize it did not saved it because the weight of the document does not change as to having inside the other file. When I re-open the document it does have the icon but it does not longer access the file I inserted as OLE object. When I save it as odt it does insert the file though. So it is a bug for the docx extension but not the program as a whole. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a .docx document 2. Insert a file that already present in the computer as an OLE object (as an icon) 3. Save the document as .docx 4. Re-open the document, go to the icon for the OLE object. Double click it and you may experience the file was not saved inside the document. 5. Go to the icon of the Actual Results: The document remains without the OLE object but the icon inside the document. Expected Results: The document should have the file inside so when I click on the icon of the OLE object it opens on the other program. The Bug: When I copied the number 4 from a webpage (or a LO word document) and pasted (ctrl V) it into the cell the data validity rule failed to block the entry. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 130446] problem when numbering the headings 1-2-3 in docx format upon restarting the document
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130446 --- Comment #17 from shariqk...@gmail.com --- Thank you very much, It seems to be partially fixed, verified in Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: e69f547bce7de376a0af464c5f7af5e7d2c8784a CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-IN (en_IN); UI: en-US TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@86-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2020-06-23_15:52:52 Calc: threaded What still not fixed is: on reopening docx, when a new heading is introduced just above another heading, and if the level of the new heading is different from the heading below, then the heading below doesn't get updated. For example, introduce heading 1/3 above heading 2 (heading 2 doesn't update). Or introduce heading 1/2/3 above heading 4 (heading 4 doesn't update). Though it happens only the first time at a specific location, if the same heading is tinkered just one more time then everything gets updated correctly for that location. But i saw other locations still remain without getting updated, if multiple such instances are kept. gifs and sample doc attached in previous comments. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134106] Binary URP bridge disposed during call to ServiceManager.createInstanceWithContext
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134106 Jan-Marek Glogowski changed: What|Removed |Added Severity|normal |critical CC||sberg...@redhat.com, ||t...@libreoffice.org Priority|medium |highest --- Comment #2 from Jan-Marek Glogowski --- So somehow my new internal / unpublished XDesktopInternal interface uncovered, what looks to me like a general UNO bug and breaks the (Py?)UNO interface backwards compatibility. I don't know for sure, this bug is Python only, but from my debugging I guess the LO side of the UNO bridge is broken. So my conclusion is, that change basically breaks every external / remote UNO user, so I think that is a critical bug. AFAIK this error just happens, if you have an independent pyuno, like one from your distro and use the system python with that, because the LO python in instdir has access to the up-to-date introspection data, so it can use "cheaper" UNO calls and "somehow" work. Any you don't need "--impress". https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134305 Bug ID: 134305 Summary: [EDITING] Grouped image refuses Original Size command Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.4.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: pox_...@yahoo.com Created attachment 162410 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=162410=edit ImageGroupTest1.ods source data Reproduction procedure: (1) open attached ImageGroupTest1.ods (2) shift-click select the 2 images and Right-click select "Group" command. (3) resize the grouped image. (4) select the grouped image. (5) Right-click select "Original Size" command. Expected result: The grouped image should return to the original size. For this example, exactly fit in cell range B2:C6 Actual result: Nothing happens. Grouped image stays resized. See attached ImageGroupTest2.ods Frequency: 100% This problem is further hurting because when you resize an image group by mouse, but forgot to shift-drag to keep the aspect ratio, then you always distort your photo. If you have noticed it immediately then Undo works, but if you missed that chance, you can't repair it. Non-grouped images can returned to original size (and aspect ratio) at any time late, even in a later session. Grouped image behaviour is inconsistent with this. P.S. Related bug: Again in ImageGroupTest1.ods, this time: (1) shift-click select both images but do not "Group" command. (2) Resize the selection. (3) Right-click select "Original Size" command. The size of images will return to original, but their position are random, not the original position. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
