i've put some bugs under 'see also', if someone is working in this area it
might be appropriate to check for them. users - especially me - often have
problems when similar functionalities act differently if they are reached in
different ways. Especially when these differences happen 'hidden' without the
user getting a hint. (in everyday life not every user has the time and in
complex tables only few users have the possibility to check the results of an
operation in detail).

in this case it is that 'sort' behaves differently when you call it via [data -
sort] than when you activate it via the dropdown-button of an autofilter and
then sort [as|des]cending.

the selection of the range to which the sort is applied is probably done
differently, i mean i saw a very nice hint menu in [data - sort] the other day
'there is data in adjacent ranges if you want to include it' or something like
that, and users who accidentally shredded their data with [autofilter - sort]
would have been much less annoyed if they had received a similar warning there.

Of course, it is a complex task for the usability to strive for both
consistency and compatibility with Excel, this may sometimes conflict, is there
a 'general guideline' for this somewhere?

Dear walkerkorea,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

It would appear that changing it to "enhancement" did not make it any more

my annoyance.

I am going to change it back to "bug," and see who gets mad at me.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134312] New: It does not insert a OLE Object if I save the file in .docx format in LibreOffice 6.0.7.3 - linux

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134312

Bug ID: 134312
Summary: It does not insert a OLE Object if I save the file in
.docx format in LibreOffice 6.0.7.3 - linux
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pabloredondocres...@gmail.com

Description:
When I want to insert a file (in my case a pdf) into the .docx document as a
OLE object it is not saved.
I wanted to insert the file as an icon into the document and save it under this
extension (docx). It inserts the icon and the file while it is still open, but
when I save it I realize it did not saved it because the weight of the document
does not change as to having inside the other file.
When I re-open the document it does have the icon but it does not longer access
the file I inserted as OLE object.
When I save it as odt it does insert the file though.
So it is a bug for the docx extension but not the program as a whole.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a .docx document
2. Insert a file that already present in the computer as an OLE object (as an
icon)
3. Save the document as .docx
4. Re-open the document, go to the icon for the OLE object. Double click it and
you may experience the file was not saved inside the document.
5. Go to the icon of the

Actual Results:
The document remains without the OLE object but the icon inside the document.

Expected Results:
The document should have the file inside so when I click on the icon of the OLE
object it opens on the other program. (in my case the pdf viewer)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134311] New: Data validity fails when pasting into cell

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134311

Bug ID: 134311
Summary: Data validity fails when pasting into cell
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: nkemp1...@hotmail.com

Description:
I have a data validity rule set that works when entering data from the
keyboard. It verifies { <0 OR "Void" }(less the {}). so -23 or Void is an OK
entry. 0, 12 or any other text fails.

The Bug: When I copied the number 4 from a webpage (or a LO word document) and
pasted (ctrl V) it into the cell the data validity rule failed to block the
entry.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create this data validity per ... OR(G28<0, G28="VOID")
2.Goto https://bikepacking.com/gear/rivnut-bottle-cage-mounts/
3.Goto the text: 4. INSTALL THE RIVNUT
4. Copy the "4" and past into the data validated cell

Actual Results:
Allows number to be entered when it should have blocked it

Expected Results:
Thrown the message that was created when the data validity failed.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I copied a number from a LO Document and it allowed pasting as did the text
from the webpage. The cell that failed using the paste did work before and
after the paste when typing the value.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 130446] problem when numbering the headings 1-2-3 in docx format upon restarting the document

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130446

Thank you very much, It seems to be partially fixed, verified in

Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: e69f547bce7de376a0af464c5f7af5e7d2c8784a
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-IN (en_IN); UI: en-US
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@86-TDF, Branch:master, Time:
2020-06-23_15:52:52
Calc: threaded

What still not fixed is: on reopening docx, when a new heading is introduced
just above another heading, and if the level of the new heading is different
from the heading below, then the heading below doesn't get updated.

For example, introduce heading 1/3 above heading 2 (heading 2 doesn't update).
Or introduce heading 1/2/3 above heading 4 (heading 4 doesn't update).

Though it happens only the first time at a specific location, if the same
heading is tinkered just one more time then everything gets updated correctly
for that location. But i saw other locations still remain without getting
updated, if multiple such instances are kept.

gifs and sample doc attached in previous comments.

While searching a large spreadsheet for ANYTHING, it immediately crashed. I
exported the file as a CSV; closed the file; opened/imported the CSV (all
columns as text); and the issue still occurred. I have not had search issues
with any other Calc files today.

I can provide the offending document on request; I am not sure I can release it
publicly.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134309] New: Feature request: better 'Recent Documents'

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134309

Bug ID: 134309
Summary: Feature request: better 'Recent Documents'
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: m...@pance.ca

Description:
I'm using LibreOffice Version: 6.0.7.3. (on Linux Mint).

1. I would prefer when I open Calc to only see spreadsheets (ODS and XLS) in
the "Recent Documents" section. And when I open Writer, I would like to see
only wordprocessor docs (ODT and DOC).

2. Related to this, would it be possible to lock a few "favorite" docs so they
are always at the top of the "Recent Documents".

Thanks

Pance

Actual Results:
File - Recent Documents

Expected Results:
to be able to control the list of recent docs.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
it shows ALL docs and spreadsheets.

Another (dubious?) way based on bug 99623
1. Download CLCL https://www.nakka.com/soft/clcl/index_eng.html
2. Run it
3. Copy three snipped plain text from this bug doc or bug 99623
4. Open Writer
5. Check the Right Click context menu in Writer (working)
6. Change the snippet on the clipboard with CLCL by click in the Deskbands in
the task bar and click on CLCL icon and pick a different item
7. Repeat 5 -> Probably already disabled.
8. Else repeat it 2/3 times.. with some different content..

Seems that LO really cannot copy tracked changes, just the final state.
WPS for example does that.
Not sure about this, but I'll confirm as enhancement.

I really have no clue how this should work. From performance point of view I
would opt for a single entry, instead of every cell. Dialog 'manage' opens
quite slow because of the long list of entry's

And when inserting/deleting a row it's only one entry, too..

OTOH, this is bit of an abuse of the tracking change feature.. So not a bug..
or a reason to make it a single entry

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attachment 161647 [details]
2. Copy column A-C
3. Paste it always next the other, so DEF GHI KLM NOP
4. Open an process manager
5. Insert a row -> Notice a bump of 200 MB
6. Go to tools -> options -> LibreOfficeDev -> Advanced. Open expert
Configuration & search for Undo (Steps) reduce it from 100 to 0
7. Quite LibreOffice
8. Open the attached file again
9. Repeat step 2/3
10. Edit -> Track and changes -> Record
11. Have the process manager still around
12. Insert a row -> Take notice of the memory bump (50 MB)
13. Edit -> Track and changes -> Manage

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134106] Binary URP bridge disposed during call to ServiceManager.createInstanceWithContext

So somehow my new internal / unpublished XDesktopInternal interface uncovered,
what looks to me like a general UNO bug and breaks the (Py?)UNO interface
backwards compatibility. I don't know for sure, this bug is Python only, but
from my debugging I guess the LO side of the UNO bridge is broken. So my
conclusion is, that change basically breaks every external / remote UNO user,
so I think that is a critical bug.

AFAIK this error just happens, if you have an independent pyuno, like one from
your distro and use the system python with that, because the LO python in
instdir has access to the up-to-date introspection data, so it can use
"cheaper" UNO calls and "somehow" work. Any you don't need "--impress".

The gist of my current logging is:

I won't spend more time on this, because digging through all this already feels
like a rabbit hole.

Or my conclusion is wrong, which based on my current level of understanding is
quite possible...

BTW: the debugging info in pyuno/README is not up to date. There is also
PYUNO_LOGLEVEL=ARGS.

Tried on Linux with 44max and 43max repos, but can't really make any sense out
of it. Your "second route" does not go for me like you say in step 8.
Steps from comment 4 don't have a sane "good" state. The older behaviour is
that ctrl-x, ctrl-v throws the images out of the document canvas.

Master is separate to working LO and doesn't take extensions.
There was some general improvement on paste, so good to see what happens here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134305] New: [EDITING] Grouped image refuses Original Size command

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134305

Bug ID: 134305
Summary: [EDITING] Grouped image refuses Original Size command
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pox_...@yahoo.com

Created attachment 162410
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=162410=edit
ImageGroupTest1.ods source data

Reproduction procedure:
(1) open attached ImageGroupTest1.ods
(2) shift-click select the 2 images and Right-click select "Group" command.
(3) resize the grouped image.
(4) select the grouped image.
(5) Right-click select "Original Size" command.

Expected result:
The grouped image should return to the original size.
For this example, exactly fit in cell range B2:C6

Actual result:
Nothing happens. Grouped image stays resized.
  See attached ImageGroupTest2.ods

Frequency: 100%

This problem is further hurting because when you resize an image group by
mouse,
but forgot to shift-drag to keep the aspect ratio, then you always distort your
photo.
If you have noticed it immediately then Undo works, but if you missed that
chance,
you can't repair it.
Non-grouped images can returned to original size (and aspect ratio) at any time
late, even in a later session.
Grouped image behaviour is inconsistent with this.

P.S. Related bug:
Again in ImageGroupTest1.ods, this time:
(1) shift-click select both images but do not "Group" command.
(2) Resize the selection.

Bug 132892 seems different: it affects the format, but loses nothing.

Note: I've modified this issue only for the visible import problem. While ODT
export keeps the recent fix, the DOCX export still lost the non-contextual
paragraph setting, if the contextual spacing comes from the paragraph style. I
suggest to file a new issue for that different bug.

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 134304
Summary: Copy and paste of tracking changes in writer seems not
to implemented
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: slamo...@gmx.de

Description:
I have to copy and paste parts of a large manuscript, so I wouldn't have to
work on the whole file.
I turned off tracking changes in the orignial file and the new file. Then I
tried to copy and paste text, but the tracking changes were not transferred. So
I would have to work with the whole file to see the editorial comments, what is
annoying.

Actual Results:
Try to copy and paste tracking changes into a new file.

Expected Results:
Tracking changes were not transferred into the new file.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Transfer tracking changes.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134303] New: Automatic minute to hour conversion not working FORMATTING

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 134303

FORMATTING
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gabriel...@hotmail.com

When I have a cell formatted to time,
it used to be that if I inputed "0:60", the cell would automatically convert
that to "1:00" and if I inputed something like "0:120" the cell would
automatically convert that to "2:00", Or if I inputed "0:150" it would convert
to "2:30"

in other words, I could simply input the number of minutes and Calc would
convert that into the appropriate time in hours.

However now, in this version I recently downloaded, I can't do that. If I input
"0:60" the cell doesnt recognize the number at all

Second route for 4.3 (deleting the the initial image on paste; so only one)
1. Open Writer
2. Insert empty paragraphs
3. Insert an image
4. Change the anchor to "to character" (the default these days)
5. Deselect the image
6. Insert the same image again
7. Change the anchor to "to character"
8. Drag -> No movement at all in 4.3

The tandem behavior started with 4.4.. broken in other ways before

@Buovjaga,
At some point there needs some graph how everything is hooked into each other
:-).If GDI changes will/could affect Skia etc. Skia Raster has a buffering to
compensate for perf issues.. but if there are others in the same code path
asking for more - for what ever reason - it gets cumulative.. not able to
evaluate.. of course..

Anyhow GDI memory usage increased.. and I'm not seeing any perf improvement on
GDI side
