[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134213] Changed transparency handling in Draw breaks export to PNG of transparent objects over pictures with just default Layout layer, forces use of additional layer(s) for tr
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134213 --- Comment #18 from V Stuart Foote --- (In reply to mwtjunkmail from comment #17) > That's confusing, because the two images in the side-by-side example are > identical in size, and in the same document just different slides, so sorry > for me being dense, but I'm not understanding why one slide's content would > would be resampled but the other not. I can play with it and see what's > going on. The source PNG is held in the ODF archive. Unzip it and look in the /Pictures directory. If the source PNG is not the size of the drawing page it is being scaled. When filter parsed onto canvas, or when canvas selection is filter exported to a new PNG (or other format), it is being resampled. Resulting pixels are not the same size as the original, and color bands for each resulting pixel will also change depending on the sampling type and also for any filter applied (color, gamut, transparency). So, to eliminate effects of scaling (and isolate the filtering) the drawing page size would have to match the size of the source PNG. But that is not the issue here of changed handling of transparency on the 'Layout' layer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118235] obsolete LO wiki help pages dominate Google search results
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118235 --- Comment #5 from mat.ventur...@outlook.com --- > Maybe for supported versions. True. For some pieces of software, as is the case for programming frameworks like Laravel, it is necessary to keep the documentation and help for old, unsupported versions because some IT depratments cannot keep up with the latest releases despite their efforts, since a lot of code-breaking changes are made with each release. With LibreOffice, though, that's certainly not the case; even if someone still uses Windows XP and has LibreOffice 5.x, they certainly can still navigate around and use the applications even if the help system contain entries for LO 6.x and 7 (when it gets released). I also have to mention that it is really weird that LO still allows for bugs for unsupported versions all the way back to 3.x to be filled here in their Bugzilla, as if these versions were still supported, it feels really weird. But considering how out of date their Bugzilla installation is, I can't say I'm surprised. > BTW, searching for "Configuration caching Laravel" gives me three > results for "Caching - Laravel" with identical breadcrumbs > "laravel.com › docs › cache". I never tought much about this until you mentioned it now. That's true, it can be really annoying, but it's really easy to solve: just make the most up-to-date version of the page indexed by search engines, really not sure why the Laravel webmasters didn't do this yet. If users want help for an older but still supported version, you can access it by the menu. Another annoying thing is that if you are reading about a feature from an older version and you then choose a more recent one in their website but this feature was removed in this new version you selected, you will get a "sorry but nothing was found" page. Why not just not include this version in the list then? Looking for presence (1)or absence (0) of an english phrase in a string of phrases. WAS for several minutes the awkward spell =IF( IFERROR(FIND(SymBiraphids.$B$16,AD109),0) >= 1,1,0) Then became similar spell, but now with $B$17 or $D$19 etc. Problem for several days now. Virus checks OK. Will upgrade. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134213] Changed transparency handling in Draw breaks export to PNG of transparent objects over pictures with just default Layout layer, forces use of additional layer(s) for tr
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134213 --- Comment #15 from mwtjunkm...@gmail.com --- https://i.imgur.com/JpyvCYG.png is a side-by-side comparison of the original non-transparent image next to me cutting up the image (on a new slide because I had no idea how to move layers above and below each other). I don't know if you can tell, but the image on the right has lost detail. The overall image is dimmer, the highlights in the hat are far fainter, and her face has lost detail. I hope that's not the permanent end result of these changes, because I've no way to compensate for that. If it comes down to it, I can rebuild all 30-odd template documents into layers and republish them, not that everyone will get the memo to use the new templates, and Lord knows how long it'll take me to cut them all up. The point of using LO was 1. Free and 2. point-and-click for the end users just to replace the pictures. That was the glory of using this technique. That said, there's no promising that someone won't attempt to modify one of my templates in such a way, while making their own book cover, painting template for a Sims4 object mesh, or whatever, that they correctly place each and every element in its own layer to accommodate the PNG export. This change from 6.4 to 7.0 produces a lot more work, only to achieve the same result. Changes in LO should not force users to update all their drawing documents to retrofit these changes. This retrofit will be huge. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134136] Enhancement: Change tab names in "Page Style" dialog

Here is a riff on your sample document with the Lucida Calligraphy 96pt w/Scaled width 75%. Not seeing an issue, other than there *has* been an export filter change requiring the transparent layers be separated--here I moved them out of the default "Layout" layer to a new "Textual_elements" layer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134213 --- Comment #12 from mwtjunkm...@gmail.com --- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #8) > Can't tell if this is intentional. But confirm export to PNG of transparent > Draw shapes changed from 6.4 -> 7.0 > > If intentional need documentation change guiding use of additional layers > when set transparent over default Layout layer. Which is information that I'll have to spread far and wide to everyone using my various templates. Some of them have adopted using my templates without any experience having used LO before, so they'll be in absolute tears if they upgrade to 7.0 and still using these templates with this bug in it, nothing they do will come out right, and like me, are forced to use PNG, not TIFF, because we're all using the same program to import our work. This change to how PNG handles transparency upon export is highly impactful, and not just for myself. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Plus I've never had to before. And things get worse, and I'll probably have to log a separate bug for this, but placing an SVG vector graphic, something that I've done countless times before, if it is made up of multiple paths and not just one path, causes the bounding rectangle of the graphic to export the entire thing as black, or worse, exporting leaves it alone and the rest of the entire page turns black. Again, this messes up with PNG but fine with TIFF, but I don't have any use for TIFFs and would have to convert everything post-process once done with Draw. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

When I do so, moving the Draw Text box, and rectangular shapes into a new layer. Setting Z-order with an Arrangement action, so Text box is on top of its backing shape and the base image is on the bottom--I get correct transparency of just the title backing. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116983] Paste is sometimes deactivated in (context) menu even though text is copied to clipboard and CTRL+V functioning (steps: Comment 0 and Comment 13 and Comment 28)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116983 --- Comment #51 from Timur --- Bug 57147 (Win), bug 65606 (Win and Lin), bug 90120 (Win), bug 99818 (Lin), bug 116983 (Win) look similar: "Paste is sometimes deactivated/greyed in the toolbar and context menu and Paste Special with CTRL+SHIFT+V isn't working. Text (from PDF or web) is copied to clipboard and CTRL+V and CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+V are functioning." There can be differences, though. One reports that even Ctrl+V isn't working. It's a lot of reports and random behavior, so single reporter with so many duplicates is not relevant per se. I think we should wait for 6.4.5.2 and than ask all to upgrade and test and in addition to test daily master.
