Dear Fabian Alexander Wilms,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134465] New: Enhancement: AppleScript-able on Mac

2020-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134465

Bug ID: 134465
   Summary: Enhancement: AppleScript-able on Mac
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: michael.warner.ut+libreoff...@gmail.com

Description:
It would be nice if LibreOffice could be controlled via AppleScript on
Macintosh. I expect this would entail creating an AppleScript dictionary and
also some kind of bridge that would process AppleEvents and utilize the UNO
API.

Steps to Reproduce:
This is a request for enhancement

Actual Results:
This is a request for enhancement

Expected Results:
This is a request for enhancement

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I recognize that this is a broad topic and implementing this could take a lot
of work, especially considering what level of detail of AppleScript support was
desired. Let me know if there is a more appropriate forum to file this request,
thanks.

I can confirm that, at least in Calc (haven't tried it elsewhere), this is
happening to me in 6.4.4. I hope the following information helps nail this bug
down: I'm running Windows 10 x64 version 2004. It is NOT happening with two
finger scroll -- just one finger scrolling at the edge of the touchpad. It's a
Synaptics touchpad and the driver version is 19.4.3.38. I've checked in the
touchpad software's scrolling practice and the horizontal scrolling goes in the
direction I expect it to so this isn't a case of settings being incorrect.

A human can infer the intention of alternating coloured rows, but the computer
needs it distinctly spelled out. What should happen for a larger/smaller table?
What happens for first row, last row, header rows?

So the background tab probably needs to be expanded to allow table-style
specific row-types in order to allow the user to properly control a custom
style.

brucehatfi...@gmail.com changed:

Word style separators are perhaps the key feature lacking in Libreoffice that
prevents widespread Law office/legislator usage of LO Writer. I translate
patents and other documents for US Federal court (+ other jurisdictions) and
first came aware of the use of style separators to minimize navigation pane
content to essential content (instructions from judge's clerk). Basically it
means only the essential part of a heading can now be indexed in the navigation
pane/pdf bookmarks (converted from word).
There is extensive discussion of style separators in the Microsoft community
demonstrating the important - not obscure - role of this function:
e.g.
•Formatting issue with style separator when combined with equations and
automatic numbering (Office 2013) Nov 19, 2015
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/formatting-issue-with-style-separator-when/e32e9e4e-5edd-4103-88a8-9cdf65a94458
•Updating TOC breaks style separators (Ctrl+Alt+Enter) Jun 17, 2020
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/updating-toc-breaks-style-separators-ctrlaltenter/a248dd2e-31e0-47de-8874-22bf1473849e
•Run-in sidehead in TOC Nov 10, 2013
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/run-in-sidehead-in-toc/0c1b77e3-4c3c-4324-8277-e8f4f51d37d7
◧ As for discussion of use in university thesis writing of style separators as
an example:
"Creating an Inline Heading" mentioning that the APA style defines a
level-three heading as being indented in italic on the same line as the first
sentence in the paragraph.
https://wordribbon.tips.net/T012723_Creating_an_Inline_Heading.html
So the issue is VERY IMPORTANT as it is a programming omission that renders
Writer unusable in perhaps all complex document preparation.
If the task is too difficult pls advise so we know whether this key feature can
finally be included or not.

2020-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134464

Bug ID: 134464
Summary: File overwriting on PDF export
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ramontava...@gmail.com

Description:
When exporting a file to PDF format, WRITER shows the name to be exported
(i.e.: the name of the file), but select (highlight) the first file at the
directory's list, and when you click on EXPORT button ask you if you want to
overwrite the file selected.

To avoid it you must select the name on FILE NAME to specify the name that
should be used.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create your WRITER file
2.EXPORT to PDF (Icon or Menu)
3. Select the target directory to save the file
4. Click on EXPORT button (if there is a PDF file you'll be asked to confirm
overwriting)

Actual Results:
The user is asked to confirm the overwriting of th first PDF file existing at
the target directory

Expected Results:
No overwriting of exisiting files

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Let's increase importance of this one since it seems it may have several dups.
It would be interesting to avoid to waste people time hitting this same bug.
Of course, I don't pretend it's easy to fix and if it's indeed difficult
perhaps we should make some announcement (in forum, a comment on these bugs) to
tell people not to test this part for the moment.

Hi Xisco,

Thank you for chiming in!

I'd have to install LibreOffice 6.4 again to try what you requested, but I
will.

I removed most versions of LibreOffice that I had installed (except 6.1) and I
put my postings here on halt, when I noticed that all my posts were copied
integrally by another forum. Here's why I stopped posting:

>From time to time I have innovative ideas. If I add them to the forum here,
those ideas can be read, copied and implemented by others, which also includes
the competition. They may even implement my ideas before LibreOffice did. And
that's not why I'm doing a lot of effort when creating screenshots,
Photoshopping them, and describing ideas. (It's more work than you think.)
That's not your fault, but maybe it's useful to know.

But more important, when I installed LibreOffice 6.4 again I'll check and let
you know. ;-)

Fixed bug is when there was commit.
Using old generic environment is not a solution, it's a workaround.
I'm not sure what would be the right status for this bug.
We had Lubuntu bug 132569 and bug 132764 but they are for PDF export with Qt5
(you are using gtk3, you may test qt5).
We also have other Brother bugs.
Let's keep it open for a while.
I change the title, I understand print to PDF Cups works (you didn't mention
Export to PDF).
In the meantime please search Lubuntu bugs for this problem.

I found that leaving out step 1 from the original reproducer in comment 0 was
enough to get the warning, so I only verified that the above fix stops the
warning with steps 2--4, without actually uninstalling all the JREs from my
development machine. Let me know if this issue is still not fixed when no JREs
are installed on a machine.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104865] FILTER : Calc Macro hangs when CopyOutputData = True

Actually, maybe that's what the bugreport was originally about and the crash
came only later.
Still, I find it questionable to complain that it takes long to copy an entire
sheet based on filters (that are probably poorly specified to being with).

I don't understand BASIC scripting much, but AFAICT the macro checks the entire
sheet for cells that are not equal to the given strings. And empty cells also
are not equal to those strings. Since the macro asks to copy such data, LO ends
up copying pretty much the entire sheet.

I'd probably keep this as closed until an actual user complains (and explains
why LO shouldn't be slow in such a case).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113138] FILESAVE general input/output error on save, files truncated

2020-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113138

--- Comment #16 from opensuse.lietuviu.ka...@gmail.com ---
...after crash I reopened LibreOffice, it proposed to recover two old files
(that was closed long time ago befre crash), however LibreOffice not proposed
to recover the one that was not saved (seems due to auto-save error). Indeed, I
noticed general input/output error after seeing repeatedly tryings to do
autosave for some minute – after waiting, it stopped to try to do autosavings,
I closed all simultaneously opened documents except one (i.e. except the
problematic one). What I did unusually that could provoke this bug? I did many
things, am not sure if these could help to reproduce bug:
- I renamed DOCX file while editing it in LibreOffice;
- I worked in track-changes mode. Some changes where done in text block that
was marked and commented.
- Generally I was replaying in comments at margins – there were a lot of
comments.
- I used Zotero plugin enabled with 50 bibliographic entries.
- I replaced existing images
- I worked in multiple files simultaneously that have very similar names, some
of them in different directories.
- ...
