[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135119] LO7.0 RC2: Crash loop (Writer) - Python/Lightproof related?

2020-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon

A crash report from a boot process loop (with the LO logo shown), that I got
after I started Impress

https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/9e4edda6-8631-426b-b381-d4b57f41e021

1. I start Writer
-> Writer crashs
2. I start Impress
-> Impress offers document recovery
3. I dismiss
-> Boot loop, task manager shows 5 - 6 tasks: 1 or 2 are simpress.exe, 4 are
soffice.bin, one soffice.bin task has a CPU load of 38 - 52 percent and 188 MB
RAM, the others LO related tasks use almost no CPU and RAM resources.
4. Kill this soffice.bin
5. Start Impress again
-> works

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135119] New: LO7.0 RC2: Crash loop (Writer) - Python/Lightproof related?

2020-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135119

Bug ID: 135119
   Summary: LO7.0 RC2: Crash loop (Writer) - Python/Lightproof
related?
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bugzilla@mkr.email

Description:
When I start Writer of LO7.0 RC2, I get a crash loop. Draw, Calc and Impress
don't crash at start.
It did not help, that I restarted LO in safe mode (enabled "reset user profile"
and "disable hardware acceleration").

When I start another LO app, like Draw, open the options, change the UI
language and restart, I also get a crash. Because LO does not restart Draw. It
always launches Writer at the restart (which will crash).

I started SWriter.exe with Sandboxie. Writer crashed and I saved the logs from
sandboxie in a RAR. The logs contain Phyton scripts.
The foldernames of the log contain the names NVIDIA, Phython and Lightproof. I
will attach the file.

Sometimes after a crash I get a loop at the start of LO. There is the LO logo
and once the black progress bar below is full, the bar fills again (a loop,
once a second). Then I have to kill soffice.bin with the task manager. The
info below the LO logo says in German "Sources of extensions are checked".

Sandboxie's usage csv logged two things:
Document Type;Command;Count
TextDocument;.uno:UpdateInputFields;1

SBIE2224 Sandboxed program has crashed: soffice.bin [DefaultBox]
SBIE2101 OpenProcess (C022) access=001F initialized=1
SBIE2101 OpenProcess (C022) access=001F initialized=1

There are some reports of my crashes
https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/c4412838-7a02-4d2f-b3d1-585f7b58faaf

https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/8e1f275d-919d-42c3-8540-e2ca72f9c5b1

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Writer

Actual Results:
Writer crashs

Expected Results:
Writer does not crash

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
IMHO this issue could be a regression.
The crashing started after I updated from 6.4 to 7.0 RC2. Writer crashed right
from the start.

Version: 7.0.0.2 (x64)

CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI-Render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE

Dear Bernheim,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68088] incorrect AutoCorrect of quotation marks after a slash (e.g.: /" changes to /”)

2020-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68088

Dear flamingdescent,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135103] Decimal precision fail in addition

I understand the limitations of IEEE754, and why this is a frequently asked
question. That said, one could argue that it would be more user friendly if the
formatting of a cell containing an equation (and the sum in the corner)
defaulted to the number of decimal places shown to the minimum (or maximum)
number of decimal places entered in any referenced cell containing a number. In
the example provided, it just doesn't make sense to display a result to 14
places when at most 2 are provided.

Okay, lets go somewhere deeper than now.
I just tried to mark furigana the sample of text, and I get next.
Furigana borders is wrong.
Japanese texts contains 3 type of text:
1) Hiragana (furigana NOT required)
2) Katakana (furigana NOT required)
3) Kanji (furigana REQUIRED).
True borders is borders between kanji and hiragana and kanji and katakana, if
you meet 2 or more kanji, this is one word and this is one furigana must be
there.
繰り返します - here must be 2 furiganas.
水力工事 - there must be 1 furigana.
システム - there must be 0 furiganas.

Please, check it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47679] Copy + Paste changes "OpenSymbol" font to "StarSymbol"

2020-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Created attachment 163496
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=163496=edit
sample ODT showing PUA Unicode being applied to OpenSymbol glyphs

So this really is continuing. Just the StarSymbol font name is not being
applied:

STR for attached document

1. new Writer document
2. insert a draw Text box on document
3. use Special character dialog and select OpenSymbol font
4. enter a string of OpenSymbol glyphs via Special Character dialog
5. change anchor to page and drag aside
6. Ctrl+C select the string in the Draw text box
7. paste into a paragraph with Ctrl+V -- what is pasted?
8. paste special into a paragraph with Ctrl+Shift+V and select unformatted --
what is pasted?

9. new paragraph, change its font to OpenSymbol
10. Ctrl+C copy string from Draw text box
11. Ctrl+V paste into the paragraph with OpenSymbol font -- what is pasted?
13. Ctrl+Shift+V paste special as "unformatted text" -- what is pasted?

At some point the labeling of the pasted OpenSymbol text string as StarSymbol
was removed--but the handling of OpenSymbol and mapping of the Unicode to PUA
was not corrected.

Pasting a string of OpenSymbol should retain the assigned Unicode for the font.
Behavior now seems a hold over from StarOffice era.

A simple FODT with direct formatting on character and paragraph levels

In attached document, the range from last part of first paragraph to first part
of third paragraph is manually set *bold*. additionally, second word of second
paragraph is manually set not bold.

Using Styles Inspector, putting cursor to first (normal) part of first
paragraph shows exactly the same data as putting the cursor to bold parts of
the second paragraph. That is because the direct properties that are set on
paragraph level are not shown.

They must be shown after paragraph styles, before character styles. To get
them, we need to obtain a reference to the paragraph (also a XTextRange) that
is parent to current XTextRange, and query its direct properties the same way
as we do for XTextRange.

To obtain the paragraph reference, query css::container::XEnumerationAccess
from the xRange; then get enumeration, and use its first element.

Not sure how I should read this. The inspector should indeed not change
anything. The idea of mine is a quick way to open the style dialog. So
technically the Inspector changing nothing.

Of course there still room for objection :-). However it's but unpractical to
show the style name, switching to style tab & searching for the style name in
question..

I assume Heiko is one of your mentors.. so we find out soon enough :-)

Bugzilla is bug reporting system with it's rules, you made a wrong report.
Rule of thumb is search existing bugs before reporting.
Of not found, you need to attach source "doc". If DOC or DOCX it must come from
MSO.
Also useful is screenshot with comparison MSO/doc, LO/open, LO/reopen,
MSO/reopen, best in a single screenshot so it's clear.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135109] New: end of line blinking cursor placement

2020-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135109

Bug ID: 135109
Summary: end of line blinking cursor placement
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: omniw...@outlook.com

Description:
The blinking cursor at the end of line is inside the last character. I notice
it on every line.
It is especially noticeable
1. with a quote mark - cursor is between the two ticks
2. with a highlight extending to the end of line - last character is only
partially highlighted.

Win10, 1903, build 18362.900
LibreOffice 6.3.6.2

Actual Results:
cursor at end of line is within the last character, not after it

Expected Results:
blinking cursor at end of line should be after the last character and not
within the last character

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

This is a separate issue, and has nothing to do with Styles Inspector (a GSoC
project with limited scope), although I also would like to have that issue
solved. Just not in this issue :-)

My involvement was because of the feature request to be able to find where a
page style was applied.

Leonardo, you are not permitted to set New yourself what you did twice.
Just wait for someone else and search for existing bugs if this is a duplicate
and reset/delete user profile and if possible test on another system.

The latter. Please apply a character style, and check.

I'm sorry, what is this about? I don't remember anything related to F in the
context of this project...? Probably something had fall out of the scope? Could

Hi Timur,
I won't be contributing past 9th August.
I'll definitely try but I can't promise I'll be able to do it by then as I am
busy with some other stuff as well.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135108] New: Err:540 is unjustified and persistent

2020-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135108

Bug ID: 135108
Summary: Err:540 is unjustified and persistent
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tor...@yahoo.com

Description:
Step0: Open refSource.ods, or any *.ods file.
Step1: open a new file, where you select cell A2; enter ‘=’ and click
any cell in refSource, eg, B1, to copy it; get Err:540. To fix this,
Step2: click Edit>links, click Update; error persists.
Step3: Close new file as refCopy, and reopen it.
Click ‘Allow updating’; error disappears, at last. But, why was Step3
necessary? Step2 should suffice. In fact, why should the error occur at all?

Steps to Reproduce:
Step0: Open refSource.ods, or any *.ods file.
Step1: open a new file, where you select cell A2; enter ‘=’ and click
any cell in refSource, eg, B1, to copy it; get Err:540. To fix this,
Step2: click Edit>links, click Update; error persists.
Step3: Close new file as refCopy, and reopen it.
Click ‘Allow updating’; error disappears, at last.

Actual Results:
error persists even after links updated

Expected Results:
Error should not occur if source is valid.

Reproducible: Always

2020-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135106

Not so sure.

There are direct properties that may be actually hidden: I mean paragraph style
and character style. They may be hidden simply because they are shown in a
different way - in respective sections. But about others -

well, the whole idea around the styles inspector was to provide a low-level,
detailed view into what's going on under the cover. This view might allow
filtering, and it's reasonable to provide useful view modes; but it's
unreasonable to try to hide the reality when it turns out to be different from
expectations.

E.g., Rsid is necessarily a direct property of a text (applied for change
tracking and comparison purposes); where input language is taken into account
(Windows), the text language will be the direct property without any explicit
user formatting... and we need to consider the properties shown here one by
one, to see why would we hide them.
