https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90406 --- Comment #24 from QA Administrators --- Dear Yury, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. While running LO in the event loop, I checked the signals of the GtkWindow "LibreOfficeDev" and found the following 5 signals with simultaneous rapidly increasing counters (see also the attached screenshot) check-resize size-allocate style-set style-updated draw Maybe this also helps to further narrow down the root cause of the event loop? https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135943 --- Comment #6 from Justin L --- Mikios/László - you have recently done work on textbox sync with FollowTextFlow. Is this just a layout issue? It doesn't seem to change if I force the shape's RES_FOLLOW_FLOW_TEXT to be either true or false. Interesting fact. If you remove the textbox from the purple frame, then add a new textbox, the frame jumps to cell C1 position. If you turn on position property "follow text flow", then only the frame moves to cell A1. If you again look at the properties and hit OK, this time the textbox moves. Changing Attributes such as character size of the style used in one of the Drop-Caps-letters, is really buggy. Size 12 still is being displayed enormously. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136532] Table loses all formatting when adding or deleting a row
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136532 --- Comment #2 from ajlittoz --- IMHO, the present implementation of table "styles" (they are not style in the usual LO sense) are faulty. >From experiment (no developer, therefore never read a page of code), it looks like selecting a table "style" launches a macro which will direct format all cells. This conflicts with the style formatting recommendation because the macro is rerun in various circumstances. You can launch it by double-clicking on a style name in the style sidepane or by adding/deleting rows and columns. If you had styled your cells, the macro direct formatting will remove or override your carefully tuned styling. Note that the same is true and even worse if you direct formatted your cells/table: everything is replaced by the macro direct formatting. I would not call it a bug but a misconception of what should be a true table style. My idea of a table style is the possibility to apply the Table>Properties settings through a style. This would not impact cell styling. The present feature is both behind this concept (you can't change padding around the table, its text flow properties or size/alignment -- in short the layout -- with a current "style") and beyond it because it allows to alternate row/column formatting (such as background colour or font colour) and other "embellishments" which are not part of the structure. And its worst inconvenient is to use direct formatting (but what else could be used) which ruins well design style format. I would recommend not to use the feature if table contents are to be styled. At least until the feature has sufficiently evolved to be useful to power "typographers". An example of complaint is as at https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/264695/table-formatting-disappears-when-adding-a-new-row-in-writer/?comment=264768#post-id-264768 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136512 --- Comment #6 from Caolán McNamara --- It's progress to know its this function is the hotspot. For me with Fedora 32 or 33; under X11 I get *one* signalStyleUpdated at program start and no others afterwards. While under wayland I get one on the app gaining focus and one on the app losing focus. We listen to this signal mostly so we can update the theme colors stuff if that changes (and the font list if new ones are added or removed) while we are running. You seem to be getting a lot of them and it would be interesting to know why. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136049] PARAGRAPH DIALOG: Improve Drop Caps to make them work with quotation marks.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136049 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu Blocks|107642 |109316 --- Comment #7 from V Stuart Foote --- Actually ODF supports it fine, just the ODF 1.3 "Canned" paragraph Drop Cap [1] remains limited in composing the style:drop-cap It is convenient of course to just tic a box on the Paragraph style Drop Caps tab--but it is trivial otherwise to assign a typographically rich Character Style (or two) to the leading character or words including punctuation of the text run in a paragraph. And to reuse character style(s) on subsequent paragraphs. Such character styling can be captured into templates for reuse. Adjusting the LO instance of "style:length word" attribute syntax to include preceding punctuation might also be possible. But would diverge from ODF 1.3 norm. But IMHO => WF as reasonable function applying character style to text runs is already provided. =-ref-= [1] https://docs.oasis-open.org/office/OpenDocument/v1.3/cs01/part3-schema/OpenDocument-v1.3-cs01-part3-schema.html#element-style_drop-cap Providing attributes: distance, length, lines & style-name Referenced Bugs: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107642 [Bug 107642] [META] Paragraph dialog bugs and enhancements https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109316 [Bug 109316] [META] Drop caps bugs and enhancements -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

The structure tab provides a function tree rendering of the formula. Problem: It is hard to find out which parts of the written function correspond to the tree rendering. Possible solution: Highlight corresponding functions on interaction. This already exists for the formula and the function view: You click in the text of the formula, the nearest function/operator is selected and the function view updates. This could be reflected in the "structure"-tree. Steps to Reproduce: Click in a cell with a (complex) formula and open the function wizard. Click in the text of the formula. Actual Results: The 'nearest' function/operator is selected and the function view updates. There is no change in the tree rendering in the "structure" tab. Expected Results: Matching the highlighted operator/formula, the corresponding operator/function in the structure-tree should be highlighted. If a operator/function in the structure-tree is selected, the corresponding part in the formula and function view should be shown. Now the good news - With the following modification, the loop is broken and the cpu load has returned to reasonable values: Commented out 1st "GtkSalFrame::getDisplay()->SendInternalEvent" void GtkSalFrame::signalStyleUpdated(GtkWidget*, gpointer frame) { GtkSalFrame* pThis = static_cast(frame); // note: settings changed for multiple frames is avoided in winproc.cxx ImplHandleSettings /*GtkSalFrame::getDisplay()->SendInternalEvent( pThis, nullptr, SalEvent::SettingsChanged ); */ // fire off font-changed when the system cairo font hints change GtkInstance *pInstance = static_cast(GetSalData()->m_pInstance); const cairo_font_options_t* pLastCairoFontOptions = pInstance->GetLastSeenCairoFontOptions(); const cairo_font_options_t* pCurrentCairoFontOptions = gdk_screen_get_font_options(gdk_screen_get_default()); bool bFontSettingsChanged = true; if (pLastCairoFontOptions && pCurrentCairoFontOptions) bFontSettingsChanged = !cairo_font_options_equal(pLastCairoFontOptions, pCurrentCairoFontOptions); else if (!pLastCairoFontOptions && !pCurrentCairoFontOptions) bFontSettingsChanged = false; if (bFontSettingsChanged) { pInstance->ResetLastSeenCairoFontOptions(pCurrentCairoFontOptions); GtkSalFrame::getDisplay()->SendInternalEvent( pThis, nullptr, SalEvent::FontChanged ); } } I played a little bit around with the menus and opened a new writer document afterwards to see, if there is any obvious side-effect. In my 2 minutes check, I did not find one. What do you think? This change is probably too simple to both fix the issue and maintain the entire functionality of LO, isn't it? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91886] Make font installation optional
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91886 --- Comment #20 from stephen.sott...@inbox.com --- If the templates don't work without the excess fonts, then make the template part of the font option. I've removed the fonts and the basic word processor and spreadsheet work fine which is what I want. I personally never use any font except Times New Roman, Arial and Courier New and don't want to have to sort through a mess of useless, duplicative ones to get to the few I do use. Forcing fonts on the user represents and elitist attitude that says we know more about what should be on your computer that you do. That shouldn't be the attitude of an open source software organization. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136554] New: Character Style: "Position" properties don't work if overwriting footnote/endnote anchors
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136554 Bug ID: 136554 Summary: Character Style: "Position" properties don't work if overwriting footnote/endnote anchors Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: greenandpleasant2000-supp...@yahoo.co.uk Created attachment 165242 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=165242=edit Writer file to illustrate an issue with note anchors Version: 7.0.0.3 (x64) Build ID: 8061b3e9204bef6b321a21033174034a5e2ea88e CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI: en-GB Calc: threaded This issue goes back to LO6 (and beyond perhaps). AFAIR, it was not an issue in OpenOffice a few years ago, so may be a regression. 1. Open the attached Writer file and select the first footnote anchor on the page (for example). 2. In Character styles, double-click the style marked "Footnote Anchor - New". EXPECTED RESULT: The size of the anchor should now be 100% and at normal position (because this is the setting in "Character Style > Position > Position"). ACTUAL RESULT: The size and position of the anchor remain UNCHANGED (i.e. as set in "Footnote Anchor"). 3. Experiment by changing other properties of "Footnote Anchor - New" and see how this affects the footnote anchor. EXPECTED/ACTUAL RESULT: The footnote anchor changes in line with the new properties—apart from "Position > Position". (not checked for all properties) CONCLUSION: It seems that, for some reason, the "Character Style > Position > Position" properties are disabled when overwriting an existing footnote/endnote anchor. (BTW, if you are using BOTH numbers and traditional characters (e.g. *, †, ‡, §, |, ¶) as footnote anchors, you will need to have two different styles for the anchors: so this issue is not just a technicality) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
