Dear kaesezeh,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

I was able to reproduce this issue in the below version

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open calc , type knurd or any misspelled word
2. Misspelled words will be highlighted in red
3. Click view from menu bar and select split window
4. the spell check only works in second window and not the first
5. if the split window option is removed the spell check works fine after the
windows are merged.

@B
So to summarize. The original problem disappeared. So this bug should/can be -
based on the report itself - be closed.

The remaining issue is
(a) How could this be allowed to happen?
(b) The risk that the similar issue will be re-introduced?
(c) You losing your confidence in newer versions after 6.1.6.3
(d) About the bar to meet for reporting. So you have to proof the (nearly)
impossible. So impossible to recreate the original circumstances, as there are
no simple (straight forward steps). More "boom" and it happen again. And every
attempt to recreate fail.. but you did encounter it.

*I acknowledge you did put stuff forward and/or make me aware of certain
calculation bugs (which weren't properly addressed and being open way to long).
**I'm aware about number of iteration bugs, which if it's up to me ideally
should go. As calculation is about confidence/trust. And if you encounter
calculations issues this tends to vanish and really hard to restore.

As you certainly aware of this these issues appear and get fixed in case by
case basis. I'm aware you dislike this kind of patchworks. However I don't see
how this could be done differently. Also you do now that those 'patch' work
thingy tend to work (even if you dislike the approach ).

And yes, sometimes a type of bug re-appear in different shapes an forms
(currently bug 137248 (and maybe bug 137312)) Before bug 132451.

I do still value you're concern/input. I still hope you want to check out 7.0
someday (bug wait until bug 132451 is gone :-).

Related to steps to reproduce. I sometimes use a screen recorder (and shortcut
OSD). Let it simply run while you're working. So there is a way to look back in
time. Even slow down etc. This might help figuring out the problem (if it's
still present).

You're powerless & frustrated by the calculation error. We are powerless
because we can't be of any assistance without "no proof". So we end up in an
impasse.
We assume it's good, until proven otherwise. We don't deny might could happen
(as it happened before). However unable to solve it.

MySQL(Native) is the connection that I use. I have no idea what you are asking.
Are you referring to the older version of sending the password (standard
authorization)? If so, I created another user using standard authorization.
When connecting to the MySQL database, I got the same error message.

Result:

Version 4.4.7.2: Here the inner corners are still correct, resp. here the inner
corners are still “real” corners without the iner line protruding from the
corner.

Version 5.4.7.2 (x64): Identical to version 4.4.7.2.

Bogdan, this bug report is for the Set Paragraph Style combobox in the
Formatting toolbar. Clicking at the triangle, the preview list shows a short
list of paragraph styles including Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3. The
issue is: When user selects Heading 3 for a paragraph and opens this style
preview after that, it would be helpful if Heading 4 would be shown
additionally. Because it's possible that the user needs a fourth heading level
when using the third.

PS: When using the needsUXEval keyword, please also add
libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org to the CC list. Otherwise the UX
team will not be informed.

hello @Buovjaga,

steps: as the fail is sporadic and need not appear in multiple redos of similar
steps but only the one or other occasion i can't tell exact steps for
reproducing, just play around with data and check all results,

file: you find one sample with a similar error i was able to catch in
tdf#125320, there with threaded of, i can't find more clue than 'wrong values
saved' in it, 125320 also has some 'steps' but redraws failed - to fail - ...

i only catched the file with fail, not a version from before with detailed
steps until the fail :-( mostly such errors are spotted too late (by me),

i spotted the errors during 'normal work', but in the meantime i've adjusted
that to avoid errors, actually with ver. 6.1.6.3, openCL and 'threaded' off,
thus it's unlikely i'll see one in the next time,

(i cannot! work 4 weeks with the risk of data corruption in hope to probably
see a new error - which wouldn't give any more clue to the issue than
'autocalculate failed at this point' - )

for better forensics ... what about implementing an activity protocol and a
re-roll functionality, once somebody spottes an error he can save the file with
it's original values, and a 'script' about his actions, then that script can be
rolled through step by step, if the error shows up you have 'steps', if not you
have clue about 'weak hardware' or a sporadic fail in software ...

as @erAck said: 'it always fails if sin(moonphase)+cos(mercury*round(sun))
touches a certain value' ... this is! rare but clearly too often! for a
reliable program ...

The 2 quoted jiras concern MariaDB nodeJS connector.

2020-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135938

I've downloaded latest version available in Italian, see attached picture.
Problem still occurs exactly in the same way I described.
Whenever you use the search field to insert a crossed reference, even though
the searched reference is highlighted in the list, in the Name field below it
will always appear the first item of the list, even though is not visible in
the list (because of the search string you entered).
If you click OK it will add a reference to the reference in the Name field and
not the highlighted one. You have to click on the wanted reference, even if it
is highlighted, to actually select it. It is tricky because you think it is
selected but it is not!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39596] use the CLang++ static analyser to find bugs

2020-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39596

Well, I finally got around to testing this, and the '--exclude' option seems to
work as expected. If you run 'scan-build' with (among others) these options :

--exclude $src/*/UnpackedTarball/* --exclude $src/workdir/* --exclude
$src/instdir/* --exclude $src/external/

then the 3th party code does not end up in the final report.

So you can now run ./autogen with '--without-system-libs
--without-system-headers' so you get the needed packages in the right versions
during the build, and in combination with the mentioned '--exclude' options
without them ending up in the final report. You do need clang9 (or newer)
though, older versions do not have the '--exclude' option for scan-build.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137382] New: Should "Follow text flow" be changed to "Keep inside text boundaries" on Position and Size tab in Position and Size dialog for Textbox and Shape?

2020-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137382

Bug ID: 137382
Summary: Should "Follow text flow" be changed to "Keep inside
text boundaries" on Position and Size tab in Position
and Size dialog for Textbox and Shape?
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sdc.bla...@youmail.dk

To understand the question in bug summary:

1. Insert (or select) a textbox (or shape).
2. Right-click, choose Position and Size, Position and Size tab.
3. At bottom of dialog box is the control: "Follow text flow".

According to bug 137141, comment 6, this label should be: "Keep inside text
boundaries" having the same function as "Keep inside text boundaries" as found
on the Type tab in the Properties dialog both for Frame and for Image.

Inspection of the source code seems consistent with that assertion.

Therefore the question: Should "Follow text flow" be changed to "Keep inside
text boundaries" on Position and Size tab?

Bug 137141, comment 9 suggests getting UX input.

Yes, I mean that. But please ask UX or discuss on mailing list. I think that
there has be a switch from "Follow text flow" to "Keep inside text boundaries"

I use spreadsheets a lot, just fairly new to LibreOffice. I hope to be able to

> And of course if you see other problems, then I would be happy to fix them.
> I updated the access commands for all the modules. I think the controls for
> CALC, DRAW, and IMPRESS are the same (but slightly different from WRITER).

Some suggestions will follow:

Now in 'Position':
Specify the location of the selected object on the page.

Suggestion for Draw/Impress:

Specify the location of the selected object on the page. The coordinates are
relative to the origin. The origin is at the left/top corner of the page
content area as default. You can temporarily change the origin by dragging the
intersection field of horizontal and vertical ruler onto the page.

Suggestion for Calc:
Specify the location of the selected object on the page. The coordinate axes
are at start of column A and start of row 1. Note: The x-coordinates are
negative on a "right-to-left" table.

Now in 'Position X'/'Position Y':
Enter the horizontal/vertical distance that you want to move the object
relative to the base point selected in the grid.

Suggestion:
Enter the horizontal/vertical coordinate of the selected base point.

Now in 'Base point':
Click a base point in the grid, and then enter the amount that you want to
shift the object relative to the base point that you selected in the Position Y
and Position X boxes. The base points correspond to the selection handles on an
object.

Suggestion:
The base points correspond to the bounding rectangle of an object. Click a base
point in the grid to select the point, for which the Position X and Position Y
coordinates are used. The default point is left/top. Note: Your setting is not
persistent and will return to the default on reopening the dialog.

Now in 'Size':
Specify the amount by which you want to resize the selected object with respect
to the selected base point.

Suggestion:
Determine the width and height of the object. When the object is resized, the
point, which you have selected in the grid, will keep its position.

Now in 'Keep ratio':
Maintains proportions when you resize the selected object.

Suggestion:
Maintains the height and width ratio when you change the width or the height
setting. Note: This option affects the dialog. It is not a persistent option
for the object.

Now in 'Position':

Thanks for this important information.
Just to be sure: You are referring to the checkbox in the dialog box in the UI
itself. It should be changed from "Follow text flow" --> "Keep inside text
boundaries"
If that is correct, then I will make the repair to the UI and update the
documentation to match.

And a final favor. Will you please see if this bug report can be confirmed.
When I insert a Shape, right click, choose Position and Size - Position Tab,
and click on the Help button -- it goes to the Type page
(https://help.libreoffice.org/7.1/en-US/text/swriter/01/05060100.html), when it
should go to this Position and Size tab page

Here is a small update, thanks to the efforts of Matthew!

I had my 3 private sheets saved by Matthew in Appimage and tested them in LO
7.0.1.2 and worked well, with all graphs processed properly.

Then I opened several files (which had been processed with Appimage and then I
came to an important signal that the graphs were no longer processed properly.

An important thing had emerged which may have to do with memory and that the
graphs are therefore no longer displayed properly.
It would be greatly appreciated if this new finding clarifies the problem
definition and if a solution can be sought.

The label of the check box is wrong. It should be the same as in the Type tab
of the properties dialog of frame and image: "Keep inside text boundaries". The
meaning is the same.

Reproduced. I think it is more obvious, when you use Appear for the second
object. So the first object should fade out and back in completely before the
second object starts its animation.

Thanks for confirmation. Maybe bug title should be changed to more accurately

Created attachment 166250

Another minimal odt file

This bug exists for a long time, and still exists on the current master build.

The problem is, when the mail merge file (i.e., the odt file) contains a table,
then the merged result would have the 1st record in the 1st result, but the 2nd
result still contains the 1st record, the 3rd result contains the 2nd record,
and so on, and finally the last record would contain both the last-1 and the
last record in the same document.

The problem does not happen if the odt file does not contain a table.

Attached is a minimal odt file.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open the "Another minimal odt file", double-click on any of the two fields,
then browse "Add database file", choose the "Another minimal ods file" attached
to the next comment.

2. Update the two fields to use the datasource you have added in step 1. Save
and reopen the odt file.
(LibreOffice 6.4.6.2 may crash at this step, but this may be a different issue
and I will report in a separate report)

3. Enable Mail Merge toolbar (View -> Toolbars -> Mail Merge), click once the
"Next Mail Merge Entry" (i.e., -> button in the Mail Merge toolbar). Then click
"Save Merged Documents -> Save as Individual documents" on the same toolbar.
Choose a location and save.

4. Open the merged individual odt files.
--> The 1st result correctly contains the 1st record ("Kevin Suo"). The 2nd
result wrongly still contains the 1st record ("Kevin Suo"). The 3rd result
wrongly contains both the 2nd record ("Xiujuan Liu") and the 3rd record ("Aixi
Suo") in the same file on two different pages.

The expected result is, 1st record in the 1st result, 2nd record in the 2nd
result, and 3rd record in the 3rd result.
