Have tested this with LO 7.0.4.2 on OpenSUSE 15.1 64bit rpm Linux with VCL:
kf5.
Tried to type anything in the textbox, which appears in step 2 of the wizard.
The first character will be typed, but no more characters will appear. This
doesn't happen in LO 6.4.5.2, so a regression.

You have to press the button "Browse" to see all the databases in odbc.ini.
Pressing one key in this list box will switch to the database I'm looking for
(with VCL: kf5 - not with VCL: gtk3 → will write another bug for this)

Seems this is a duplicate of bug 138209.

Open the file with a zip program.
Look for forms/Obj71/content.xml.
This is the form "units".
Look for office:version.
It is set to 1.3, but with LO 6.4.7.2 you could only write files with
office:version 1.2
Change it to 1.2 and save the file.

Seems there is nobody else interested in this bug, because there are not many
people, who will edit a form in LO 7.*, which saves files in office:version
1.3, and switch back to LO 6.+ to edit this files again there.

Has sombody edited the form in LO 7.0.*?

Yes, the changes are tracked, but they aren't shown, that setting is turned
off. Plus shown tracked edit is shown in yellow color.

What I see is that the font at that point is set to Lime color, however for me
that difference persist back until 6.0, and it's black in 5.4. Telesto, are you
sure the color is black as you would've expected in 6.1-6.4?

The characters that constitute installation path have nothing to do with UI
language that program uses by default - the default follows OS settings (and
installed set of UI languages). A path may have characters of more than one
script (e.g., Russian, English, and Japanese); and the language may be
impossible to detect (what is the language of directory names "a"? Spanish?
Czech?)

And overall, this is unreasonable. Absolutely. Closing WONTFIX.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100686] UI: Impress shows incorrect font family in the Sidebar and style dialog (in 75% of the cases)

2020-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100686

The root of the issue is that the style has one font, and the other is set via
direct formatting. This can be confirmed by clearing direct formatting over the
text.

There are two cases:
- if the text box is selected,
- if the user is editing text within the text box.

1. If the text box is selected, it shows the font coming from the style in: the
sidebar, the Character dialog, the Text Formatting toolbar and the style editor
dialog.

2. If the cursor is in the text box, or text is selected in the text box,
Impress shows the expected font in the various selectors (except the style one
of course). In the past it did show the other font in the sidebar, which is now
fixed (bug 121933 has a few details).

My two cents is that if the whole text box is formatted with a different font,
it shouldn't show the font from the style when the text box is selected. In
addition, it doesn't seem to follow the usual practice that text with mixed
fonts, when selected, should show empty entry in the font picker.

Demo of Recency addition to Navigate By

Here is a patch that adds Recency to Navigate By and removes the Navigation
tool bar from appearing when entries are added to the navigation stack. The
patch does not make any improvements on how the navigation stack is added to it
only adds the ability to do Navigation tool bar type back and forward
navigation using the scroll previous and next controls when Recency is selected
in Navigate By.

Dear Paul Reilly,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to

Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug

Dear Telesto,

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

I think, it is a valid request.

You should at least set the grid color to black to make the dots better
visible. And it helps to make the main grid for example 0.5mm and the spaces to
5. That results is fine dotted lines, which are better visible than single
points.

Unfortunately there are a lot of problems with HiDPI.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139178] The shape dashes are rendered differently after docx export (creating different effect)

2020-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139178

The shapes are indeed different. The Smiley from the toolbar in LO reflects the
geometry from MSO binary. These binary shapes are not directly available in
OOXML. So LibreOffice has two options: A) Map it to a similar shape available
in the preset shapes of OOXML, or B) convert it to a custom geometry. Currently
option A) is used for the smiley. On import the preset shape of OOXML is kept,
because the file has no information, that it was in original a shape from MS
binary format.

The MSO binary geometry has the start point at the left of the shape, the OOXML
preset shape has it at the right of the shape. The line is drawn clockwise.
Dashing starts with a dash at the start point. To get the same in ODT as in
DOCX, you need to start with an OOXML shape.

I consider this a "Wont fix".

I consider this as error. All other places but line width of the Sidebar use
the unit, which was set in Tools > Options > Draw > General > Settings > 'Unit
of measurment:' when the document was last saved. The unit is a property of the
document in Draw.

We might allow a smaller unit of same kind, examples: general unit "meter"->
line width "centimeter", general unit "inch"-> line width "point". But even for
that I would prefer to do it not automatically.

There exists a request of line width in "pt" for Writer: bug 134448.

There exists a similar report bug 105176, which was -I think wrongly- resolved
as duplicate to bug 72662.

Reading several reports, I think it might be necessary to distinguish between
Writer and Draw/Impress.

Line width in "pt" or not needs to be discussed in UX team.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139236] New: Enhancement suggestion: if a document has a title, the default name for saving should not be "Untitled 1" but based on the title

2020-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139236

Bug ID: 139236
Summary: Enhancement suggestion: if a document has a title, the
default name for saving should not be "Untitled 1" but
based on the title
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mark.aitchi...@chch.planet.org.nz

Description:
When it comes to saving a document for the first time, and the author has
already entered a title (or heading), a more appropriate name than something
starting with "Untitled" should be suggested, based on the words in the title,
perhaps with options controlled by the user's Load/Save Options and/or the
template used to create the document that might limit the length of the title,
remove spaces or "small" words, etc.

The reasons would be two-fold: to save some typing (recognising the document is
not "untitled"!), and to allow a consistent naming convention for documents to
make them easier to recognise by file name long afterwards.

The ideal would be to have the title (or specified field in a spreadsheet)
and/or date and/or document properties take part in suggesting the file name
and directory for saving to disk, controlled by the user's Options and
potentially set in a template used to create the document.

For example, in a busy office where different people may create, or later
search for, documents: using "standard" file naming systems that make it clear
what file corresponds to a reply of a certain type to a customer made in a
particular month about a certain type of product would be much better than
dealing with ad-hoc document naming strategies of various people which require
searching through many documents. Another example might be somebody writing,
say, poetry that uses a template for that and wants poems to be stored in a
directory tree just for that, which includes the year as a subdirectory name
and the title as the document name. Or a project worked on by several people,
where each persons contributions might be stored in one folder but will have
their user name appended until some editor collates and approves all their work
to make the final document.

In the case of spreadsheets: I very often have to create spreadsheets that need
to have document names following a particular system based on the date (which
will be the same as, although in a different format to, a particular field in
the spreadsheet). As an example from this of what a good templating and
documation system should be able to do: when I create new spreadsheet from this
template (preferably by double-clicking on an icon on my desktop) it should pop
up a request to enter two fields, the first one being a valid date (e.g. "23rd
December 2020" or any valid date that is automagically converted into that
format), that becomes part of the filename (e.g. "Analysis of thingees
2020-12-23.ods", using something like a "sprintf" or "PRINT USING" somehow in
the template), and the date of the Sunday previous to that date should be used
to create the default value for the second prompted question (e.g.
"20/12/2020"), and when okayed, these fields should go into specific fields of
the new spreadsheet, as well as defining the filename for the next "Save".

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new document
2. start typing text, including something with a paragraph style of "Title"
3. Save

Actual Results:
notice it defaults to a file name that is rudely said to be untitled when
you've gone to the effort of giving it a title!

Expected Results:
A default filename based on the title

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
By the way: This bug description form is not very good for entering enhancement
requests, because some fields here seem to be required that make little sense
in the context of an enhancement suggestion.

fix picture jumping to incorrect X position after dragging
If a picture anchored to character is dragged vertically, it can actually
jump to the left, even though X should stay the same. This change
basically reverts part of 5ddd93f4f90b3627a0ba63b62a5367c5e6c112a1.
I haven't figured out how this GetBaseOfstForFly() actually works, but
I'm reasonably sure that the relative X offset introduced by it
in SwFlyAtCntFrm::SetAbsPos() is not undone anywhere in SwFlyFrm::ChgRelPos()
or otherwise acted upon, it simply causes relative X position change, even
though
the absolute position remained the same.

It is not intended, that the button shows the line color of a selected object.
But it shows the color, which will be used, when you draw a new object.
If nothing is selected and you click on the button (or open its drop-down list
to select a color), then this color is the default color for new objects. The
sidebar shows the actual color of the object.

Nevertheless, the error is, that if one button changes the default color, that
the other incarnations of the button are not updated. Not updating has the
impact, that the user cannot know, which is the current default color.

The situation would probably be easier to follow if this bug was kept on the
collective status of the document, and individual issues were spun off on the
various problems that still need fixing, eg. the regression.

See also bug 123703 suggests the \defchp formatting coming from RTF is
interpreted. For formats missing the \defchp as the sample document here we
need to add the 1\6th em U+2006 additional space on import.

Apparently that is not the case with this "generated" RTF.

If I delete all the extra \u2006 1/6th em spacing added by the RTF import
filter (for see also bug 123703 [1]) the formatting with a mon0-sapce font
substitution at 10pt (Courier New or Consolas) fits to the single page with
formatting matching the PDF.

So, is this NOTOURBUG? Or should we adjust ww8 filter to accommodate a
non-compliant RTF generator?

László?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139226] LibreOffice Windows starting slower?

2020-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139226

I compared startup times to the start center in Windows between LO 7.1.0.1,
7.0.0.3 and 7.0.4.2 after initializing with an empty profile. Rendering is
Skia/Raster.

7.0.0.3 and 7.1.0.1 have roughly the same result, close to 5.3s, while 7.0.4.2
can start up slightly below 5s: 4.9s or so. That's perhaps 0.5s of difference.
On a side note, 6.0.0.3 starts up in 4.1-4.2s.

I'm a bit confused why the version field is set to 7.0.0.3, when the 7.0
behavior is the expected result.

"como" should be "co-mo".

"desestruturá-lo" should be "de-ses-tru-tu-rá-lo".

"redação.[EM SPACE]" also is not hyphenated correctly (re-da-ção), but only
because of the [EM SPACE] (Unicode U+2003) following the period.

Just add an option (somewhere) that lets the user set what they want as the

Step for reproduce:
1. Delete your user profile.
2. Open LibreOffice Impress.
3. In new document, try insert video into slide (as a link).

Impress crashes without inserting video.

Affected versions: I tried LibreOffice 6.4.7, LibreOffice 7.2.0.0 -> same
behavior.

On 6.0.0.3 Impress freezes, doesn't crash, you must kill it.

Video was made by using 6.4.7 version. Crashreport here:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139233] New: macOS : no (not-ugly) way to set global config

2020-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139233

Bug ID: 139233
Summary: macOS : no (not-ugly) way to set global config
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.3.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: daithe...@free.fr

Description:
I'm trying to deploy some settings (like "do not check updates online") for the
users of a company.

The only way I got it working is by putting some config excerpt in
/Applications/LibreOffice.app/Contents/Resources/registry directory which is
really ugly (it will be overridden every time LO is updated).

I would expect LO to look in /Library/Application Support/LibreOffice/registry,
for example.

Notice that putting the very same file in the user profile doesn't work either.

Actual Results:
LO only consider overriding config files if they are stored in LibreOffice.app.
(at least for online update).

Expected Results:
Respect (mac)OS paths and conventions.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Using LO 7.0.3.1 under macOS 11.1.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135079] Formatting of simple .RTF one page A4 document completely screwed up

Using

Version: 7.0.4.2 (x64)
Build ID: dcf040e67528d9187c66b2379df5ea4407429775
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render:
Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

I can switch to whatever fixed pitch font I want, and in Writer the results
continue to be an utter mess. In Word the document displays completely correct
with the same fixed-pitch fonts.

When is LO finally going to support such utterly elementary documents?

Wow. I think this really **REQUIRES** an official clarification. Is LO
supported on macOS or is it just a pet project, working "by luck", that could
be left behind anytime ?

Some people and companies rely on it. It has to be made clear and sound.

For what's worth, I got no precise answer to my previous question (what would
be the cost to get this fixed ?)

Created attachment 168489

titlePage.odt: run format-titlePage twice and first-page's page number changes

Format->Title Page is basically just broken. (sw/source/ui/misc/titlepage.cxx)

1.) GotoPage fails if a blank page exists. [first and follow are both even or
both odd]. The result is changes get applied to "random" pages.
2.) GotoPage( bRecord=false ) BY DEFINITION returns false, yet when adding more
than one index page, it hopes it will return true before setting the page
style.
3.) The wrong pages get changed to Index style. [Apparently layout hasn't
recognized the newly added pages yet because I can't access any page higher
than 3.]

Well obviously GotoPage is completely worthless if it doesn't even recognize
the newly added pages. So if ANYTHING at all works in this wizard, it is just a
coincidence... sigh.
