[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54169] LibO doesn’t obey Windows OS setting “only show the accelerator underline when the Alt key is being pressed”
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54169 --- Comment #59 from Mike Kaganski --- Dumping here the Windows intended underlining behavior (as one may see e.g. using Notepad.exe, or notepad++). 1. For menus: Entering the menu from keyboard (Alt or F10) starts underline mode; leaving menu (*including by mouse*) stops this mode. 2. For dialogs: Pressing Alt starts underlining mode; it is active until the dialog is closed (per-dialog mode, so if several modeless dialogs are active, only the active one starts underlining when Alt is pressed). One difference between notepad and notepad++ is that in notepad, closing a modeless Find dialog ends the underline mode, while in notepad++, it does not - likely because the latter does not properly reset the mode, only hiding the dialog, not destroying it; I suppose that standard notepad should be considered the reference. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125320] - sporadic fail! - combination of autocalculate and shared formulae still broken in 6.3.0.0.alpha1+ with threaded off
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125320 --- Comment #28 from b. --- whowww!, a real blow up of thoughts and work on this problem :-) ... and hope ... sorry, at this moment i don't have time to check every step by myself, thus pls. be indulgent if i'm off the track with any point mentioned in this comment, just some thoughts: @matthewn...@yahoo.co.uk: :-) your idea and analysis looks very promising, especial 'random fails dependent on actual view' could explain the reproductibility problem of plenty bugs, pls. keep going, "150 EUR prize" - i remember i offered money to get rid of faults but couldn't find it in this thread, if your efforts lead to a solution - mustn't be complete but just any significant enhancement - ask for three times that money and you'll get it, something in the discussion goes in the direction of 'error dependent on re-use of broken files cluttered by old LO versions', that may be right but didn't come to my mind when filing the original bug(s), @MichaelMeeks: "If there is an issue that is reproducible, and is not related to iteration - then I'm really interested in it =) is this one ?" yes it is! - without iterations, i just mentioned iterations as another field where progress is hindered by the ways LO and bugs currently work and where other approaches could possibly bring improvements, this bug and all the others i'd file about autocalculate fails and probably depending on shared formulas is / are totally independent of the iteration settings ... afaik, ni it isn't - reproducible, that's the big issue, i'd frequently step in issues which are fails and re-occur similarely, but are not 'reproducible on command', :-( "Hi Matthew, this is a franken-bug since it mentions iteration - and so gets ignored." - that explains much ... to me ... being ignored :-( ... but, again, this bug is not in any way about iterations, it's about autocalculate fails probably dependent on 'shared formulas' appearing also with 'threaded off' contrary to being assumed dependent on threaded or parallelized calculations being set 'on', @Telesto: thanks for your help and understanding, they helped me to stay on board, i'm not sure if i would have done without ... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139522 Bug ID: 139522 Summary: Don't retain image position when cut/pasting exclusively the image Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tele...@surfxs.nl Description: Don't retain image position when cut/pasting exclusively the image Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the attached file 2. Drag the image to at the height of ipsum lorem (so image being at the left of the text) 3. Undo everything 4. Cut the image 5. Place cursor before ipsum lorem 6. Paste Actual Results: Image retains positional settings after cut paste within LibreOffice Expected Results: Would argue that cut & paste of image only.. (so without text) doesn't 'retrain' the original position.. but being pasted blank.. Another aspect is of course where things should be pasted.. The current arrangement is centered at the position of the cursor.. Still inclined to mimic 'as character paste'.. which will be possible 'change the default' is working as expected (bug 139521) I personally expect the image at cursor position.. with Right Click paste or CTRL+V.. and not somewhere else. Where drag & drop and CUT+PASTE can be exchanged.. Dragging an dropping an image to a different page isn't possible.. yes it is in multipage view.. and surely not across documents. There is likely a group very attached to pasting middle of the page.. being around for a long time. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96787] AutoCorrect: After Removal of Replacement Entry the Replacement Itself is still Performed.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96787 Julien Nabet changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |ASSIGNED CC||dirk@t-online.de, ||serval2...@yahoo.fr Assignee|libreoffice-b...@lists.free |serval2...@yahoo.fr |desktop.org | --- Comment #21 from Julien Nabet --- On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I could reproduce this. I tried with the example of tdf#139377 where Dirk (I put in cc) would like to avoid LO from replacing "daß" by "dass". After deleting the entry, LO still does the replacement even after having restarted LO. If we take the example of German language from Germany, the initial replacement file (ie with a brand new LO profile) is "acor_de.dat" present in "share" directory. Just for information, these dat files are in fact zip files with a specific structure, see: julien@debianamd:/tmp/test$ ls acor_de.dat julien@debianamd:/tmp/test$ mv acor_de.dat acor_de.zip julien@debianamd:/tmp/test$ unzip acor_de.zip Archive: acor_de.zip extracting: mimetype inflating: DocumentList.xml inflating: META-INF/manifest.xml inflating: SentenceExceptList.xml inflating: WordExceptList.xml When deleting an entry in the autocorrect dialog and click Ok, LO generates a "acor_de-DE.dat" in "user" directory this time. This "acor_de-DE.dat" contains all the replacements from "acor_de.dat" except the deleted entry. Important thing to note: "acor_de.dat" in "share" doesn't change and still contains all replacements (included "daß"=>"dass") Remark: the extra "-DE" in the file name is because I used Germany locale. If I switch to Austria locale for example, it will use initial "acor_de.dat" from "share" so it won't use "acor_de-DE.dat" from "user" directory) After some debugging, I noticed that the type of replacement "daß"->"dass" was done in SvxAutoCorrect::SearchWordsInList (see https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/editeng/source/misc/svxacorr.cxx?r=40e98c87#1920). 1) it begins in the block: 1932 // First search for eLang, then US-English -> English 1933 // and last in LANGUAGE_UNDETERMINED 1934 if (m_aLangTable.find(aLanguageTag) != m_aLangTable.end() || CreateLanguageFile(aLanguageTag, false)) 1935 { 1936 //the language is available - so bring it on 1937 std::unique_ptr const& pList = m_aLangTable.find(aLanguageTag)->second; 1938 pRet = lcl_SearchWordsInList( pList.get(), rTxt, rStt, nEndPos ); 1939 if( pRet ) 1940 { 1941 rLang = aLanguageTag; 1942 return pRet; 1943 } 1944 } gdb showed that pList.get() used "acor_de-DE.dat" (from "user") and when searching "daß", it doesn't enter if block at line 1939 as expected. 2) But then LO keeps in the next block: 1946 // If it still could not be found here, then keep on searching 1947 LanguageType eLang = aLanguageTag.getLanguageType(); 1948 // the primary language for example EN 1949 aLanguageTag.reset(aLanguageTag.getLanguage()); 1950 LanguageType nTmpKey = aLanguageTag.getLanguageType(false); 1951 if (nTmpKey != eLang && nTmpKey != LANGUAGE_UNDETERMINED && 1952 (m_aLangTable.find(aLanguageTag) != m_aLangTable.end() || 1953 CreateLanguageFile(aLanguageTag, false))) 1954 { 1955 //the language is available - so bring it on 1956 std::unique_ptr const& pList = m_aLangTable.find(aLanguageTag)->second; 1957 pRet = lcl_SearchWordsInList( pList.get(), rTxt, rStt, nEndPos ); 1958 if( pRet ) 1959 { 1960 rLang = aLanguageTag; 1961 return pRet; 1962 } 1963 } and here pList.get() shows "acor_de.dat" from "share". So when searching "daß", it finds the replace (since "acor_de.dat" isn't changed when deleting an entry) I'm gonna propose this straightforward patch: diff --git a/editeng/source/misc/svxacorr.cxx b/editeng/source/misc/svxacorr.cxx index ae6dceb33adf..0f048114462b 100644 --- a/editeng/source/misc/svxacorr.cxx +++ b/editeng/source/misc/svxacorr.cxx @@ -1941,6 +1941,8 @@ const SvxAutocorrWord* SvxAutoCorrect::SearchWordsInList( rLang = aLanguageTag; return pRet; } +else +return nullptr; } // If it still could not be found here, then keep on searching If a correspond acor file is found in user, it goes into 1) like previously but instead of keeping on with 2), if there's no replacement found, it returns nullptr. I tested this patch with a brand new LO profile (so without "acor_de-DE.dat"), the replacement works since

I work for public administration and in the law-making process. Creating comments and referencing to them by a number, e.g. during online calls, is a daily activity, especially that a lot of people use Microsoft Word. Is it difficult or time consuming to write an appropriate macro which could insert an appropriate ordinal number for each comment, and, in the case of changing number of comments, delete previous numbers to allow insert new ones? Of course, a dynamic, automatically updating numbering would be better, but maybe the first way is easier? - I don't know cause I'm not a programmer. Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: yousifjka...@yahoo.com I have LO version 7.0.4.2 installed on my Fedora 32 X64 bit Cinnamon edition as flatpak package from FlatHub. I used to insert a chart in document that I created fro scratch by my LO & saved it as .docx file. The chart type is: - column - Bar shape - 3D enabled (simple) I used to enable "data label". Then I noticed that the following can not saved what ever I tried to activate ! They disappeared just when I close the document so that when I re-open the .docx file they all will be loset: 1) "Show value as percentage" (under tab of "Data Label" - see screenshot 1) 2) change the "Text direction" (under tab of "Data Label" - see screenshot 1) 3) "Font colour", "Outline", "Shadow" (under tab of "Font Effects" - see screenshot 2) Also, I discovered that "Rotate text" function (under tab of "Data Label" - see screenshot 2) malfunctioning so that so that I can not rotate the text UNLESS ONE TIME after which I can not change rotation angle on 2nd or 3rd occasion, & rest button in the same window not useful to rest value. The only way to revert is to use "rest data label" option of right click menu ! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

It's not obvious what the value of this is, let's just ignore the "direction". * Selections exclude the start and end position except if it's a fully selected node or at the start or end of a section (i.e. Ctrl+A should also select every at-para fly). * An exception is made in case the selection looks like it's a backspace/delete joining 2 paragraphs; flys are not deleted in that case because it seemed annoying (and as it happens, Word does not appear to delete flys in that case), particularly if both of the nodes are already empty. This is done with a heuristic, it's conceivable to pass down some flag from DelLeft()/DelRight() but probably this is good enough. A special hack is needed to keep writerfilter happy for now; it likes to anchor flys at nodes which it then deletes in RemoveLastParagraph(), which likely could be improved there. The ALLFLYS usage in SwRangeRedline::MoveFromSection() could be removed (because the end-of-section check already handles the case) except for this, because it turns out that the ODF import runs SetRedlineFlags with a temporarily reset IsInXMLImport() flag because of its effect in thints.cxx, so during the move IsSelectFrameAnchoredAtPara() can't check it. tdf#108124 scenario works better, now everything that's selected is both copied and deleted. Fixes the problem where an at-para fly at the 2nd node of a redline where the 1st node is partially deleted was lost on ODF export. https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=91b2325808a75174f284c48c8b8afc118fad74e4 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

The height was terrible - the minimum size possible. It was too small for even a single line of text. That made it hard to grab the table edge (instead grabbing a row edge) when trying to resize. Now the height and width are limited to the page/view size, and based on the number of rows created. One possible enhancement would be to use the border width instead of the page width. https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=66b8b09d0aa97e4009d2019a9d93b74cd1e11a09 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

In version 6.4 of LibreOffice I didn't have this problem, so I don't know exactly what is going on. Curious that it occurs both in LibreOffice installed by the package manager of my distribution (Ubuntu 20.10), and by the official PPA and through flatpak. Another thing that I forgot to mention is that this problem also happens in safe mode and in clean installations. However, when I run LibreOffice from the terminal with the command "SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen libreoffice", despite the strange appearance, the problem goes away.

- combination of autocalculate and shared formulae still broken in 6.3.0.0.alpha1+ with threaded off
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125320 --- Comment #27 from matthewn...@yahoo.co.uk --- (In reply to Michael Meeks from comment #26) > It is safe to say that if a broken file produced by an old version of calc > is required to reproduce the problem, then it's not that interesting to us. Understood. > Then again - if we are confident that older versions of calc produce unhappy > files we can potentially detect and force re-calculate of those on-load (I > guess) - that is reasonably easy to do. Got it. Xisco Fauli was/is looking for help to do that for Bug 86321. Buovjaga's tracing it for a few years. LO7 (fresh) is still unable to show unhappy files with X,Y scatterplots broken-then-working, so it's at that stage. I contribute user workarounds. Engineers and scientists are clicking, holding and stirring all their plots a few pixels to keep going. A real renovation on-load is hoped for there. > If the problem can be reproduced from a blank-sheet in a modern LibreOffice > then that is -extremely- interesting =) but having a new bug report with a > clean set of reproduction steps: starting from launching calc and adding > (presumably large range formulae) etc. would be extremely interesting. > Thanks.
