https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139990 --- Comment #2 from NarayanAras --- @the first steps: 1. About using the latest version: I tried with the alpha (64 bit version) downloaded from the nightly server, and also the stable version 7.1.0.1 (64 bit version). Both have identical problem. 2. Can it be corrupted user profile? Every time I install LO, I uninstall the previous version first with CCleaner. (I do NOT restart the laptop after uninstallation, though.) So my user profile is supposed to be new (uncorrupted). 3. Can it be OpenGL? My Help > About LibreOffice dialog shows this: User Interface: UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win My Tools > Options >LibreOffice > View > Graphics output shows that the following checkboxes are enabled (ticked): 1. Use antialiasing 2. Use Skia for all rendering. The "Force skia software rendering" option is disabled. Below that, the GUI says, "skia is currently enabled". I do not know what this means. It does not match the text given in the guide. Probably this may be a problem (?). The GUI does not have "Use OpenGL for all rendering (on restart)" option at all. In fact, the word "OpenGL" is not found anywhere in the GUI. Please advise! * Both crash exactly the same way, on the same laptop having Windows 10, 64 bit. In fact, I discovered that I made a mistake in the bug description. The revised description is as follows: The dialog freezes when launched, and after a few seconds, the LibreOffice crashes (vanishes without any error message). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58685] Add *option* for proposing a file name based on the content of the document on first save (comment 13 for suggested sources in priority order)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58685 --- Comment #24 from Mark Aitchison --- A possible solution to the problem of potentially creating silly filenames might be to have a document property (that is inherited from the template, and so can be set to whatever suits the particular workplace and type of document), and if the property is blank then the default behaviour when saving a file for the first time would be: 1. If the document has a title or Heading 1, use that (after removing any problematic characters like backticks, dollar signs, etc), otherwise 2. Use the present system for untitled documents. But if the specific property is set then it could, like a spreadsheet cell, be a constant or could be the result of calculating/combining/formatting particular document properties, headings, cells, user-defined fields, the day/month/etc and/or the text set as the title. But, to make life easy for the average user, it should be easy to set it to something like "do what [some other popular software] does" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140010] New: Export as CSV should always "quote" Text fields
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140010 Bug ID: 140010 Summary: Export as CSV should always "quote" Text fields Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: filters and storage Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com Description: When importing from CSV, the "Format quoted fields as text" provides a way to distinguish text from numeric fields. However the corresponding export-to-CSV feature is missing: There is no way to generate a CSV with Text fields quoted. So the format gets lost in a round-trip from spreadsheet to CSV and back to spreadsheet (often needed to use text-oriented tools to manipulate the data). IMO exporting to CSV should, by default quote fields which have Text (not numeric) format even if they don't contain special characters (for example numers). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load attached demo.ods spreadsheet; verify that the format of A2 is Text and B2 is Number(General) 2. File->Save As... change file Name and set output drop-down to Text CSV(.csv) 3. File->Open... navigate to the saved .csv file Check "Format quoted field as text" 4. Check format of A1 (rightclick->Format Cells...->Numbers:Category) Actual Results: A2 has numeric format in the imported document, rather than Text Expected Results: Export should have quoted A2 because it was Text, so it could be imported as Text Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: . -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140006 BogdanB changed: What|Removed |Added CC||buzea.bog...@libreoffice.or ||g --- Comment #1 from BogdanB --- Please create an example of a dropdown that is seen different in 6 compaering to version 7. We need something to test on. It's much easier. I have created a new dropdown with 2 words, a short one and a long one. The dropdown will be minimum a default size, but of course you cold increse it. A bug would be if the same file when open with 6 it's a certain size, and opening with another version has another size. Open the attached Writer file. It consists of a series of short paragraphs. 2. Ensure the cursor is at the start, and open Find and replace. Tick "Regular expressions", put $ in the Find box and a space in the Replace box. 3. Press "Find Next", then keep pressing "Replace" until all sentences are separated by a space and in a single paragraph. 3. Put cursor focus back on document page (or close F dialog). Press Ctrl + Z (UNDO) and repeat … EXPECTED RESULT: After each undo the sentence should appear as a separate paragraph.
