[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139721] Writer: Bizarre multi-level numbering.

2021-02-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

(In reply to TorrAB from comment #8)
> List_1_Cont, List_2, etc. What about calling Numbering Lists and Bullet
> Lists ‘enumerations’?
Feel free to open a new report for that.

> **based on what template? I made file numB from template Livre and
> reproduced the behaviour of numAA.odt: The position of BB does not respond
> to Level until you change the list style to Numbering ABC and back to abc.
So the problem depends on your template. Could you please attach it?

> **What does ‘master’ mean?
Master ist the developer version of LO. You've chosen master as earliest
affected version, but it seems, that you doesn't use it. Please paste
infrmations from Help => About LibreOffice

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140096] F6 cycles through toolbars and window, rather than going directly to Window when Sidebar is open

F10 and F6 get special treatment as they are core a11y shortcuts.

F10, and +F10 to move to main menu, and canvas.

While F6, +F6 move between GUI sub-windows (Main menu, Standard TB,
Formatting TB, Status Bar, Sidebar, Document Canvas).

And +F6 has been added to go directly to canvas.

Those coupled with and Cursor give the basic non-mouse keyboard
controls needed for a11y support of Assistive Technology. And all controls are
supposed to respond with a reasonable "accessible event" announcing the control
with focus.

Things remain borken badly by the NB MUFFIN assemblages. Notably bug 107343 and
the NB a11y meta bug 107316

Dear Roman Kuznetsov,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

2021-02-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108318

Dear Bernd Brinker,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

My 2¢: Browser have it much easier since they whatever is entered into the URL
bar is assumed to be a URL: the browser can apply whatever heuristics to turn
the *entire string* into a valid RFC-compliant URL. Trying to mimic that logic
in LO, with unclear boundaries and arbitrary text, will lead to false
positives. But what do I know. Removing myself from CC since I'm not involved
in the decision nor implementation.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91192] AutoCorrect: Writer not recognizing a URL's trailing carat, hash mark, question mark, backslash, or pipe

2021-02-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91192

The backslash should be accepted for another reason: If I type a URL with an
incorrect backslash directly into certain browsers, the browser changes the
incorrect backslash into a correct slash. Examples in Firefox 84.0.2 (64-bit):
http:\\slashsleep.com loads http://slashsleep.com/ and
http://slashsleep.com\3\you-will-sleep\1\sleep-always-wins.html loads
http://slashsleep.com/3/you-will-sleep/1/sleep-always-wins.html (that's my
website and I don't have an alias or redirection set up for the backslashes so
either the browser or the hosting server is doing it for all URLs).

This fails but shouldn't: http://example.com?age=293 . However, this is
properly hyperlinked in LO Writer: https://example.com/?age=293 . The sole
difference is in the slash after the TLD; I'm not sure if a server could be
configured to accept the slashless version, so LO should hyperlink it, just in
case.

I favor recognizing characters that are questionable in URLs on the same
principle that early on applied to emailing: be strict in what you send but
generous in what you accept. LO should generously recognize a typist's text as
a URL with the boundaries being spaces or angle brackets. The worst that can
happen is failing to arrive at the URL when clicked and even that can be
corrected in the browser's address bar, which is easier for nongeeks than
figuring out what should have been in the URL in the LO document. This example
uses a nonexistent TLD and yet is generously hyperlinked as a URL by LO Writer:
http://google.quibble

Parentheses, square brackets, and pipes (unfamiliar to me as a URL boundary but
here accepted arguendo) can be identified as URL boundaries if they appear
spacelessly both before and after the string that otherwise is a URL. Examples:
(example.com), [ftp://example.com], and |example.com| . However, spacelessness
must be at both ends; if it's at only one end, I don't know exactly what should
be hytperlinked.

Angle brackets are already known to be boundaries. While
properly hyperlinks in LO without hyperlinking the angle brackets,
does not hyperlink in LO, but should.

A comma following a URL's directory, file, query, fragment, or slash should be
treated as part of the URL because the host's server might recognize it. But a
comma-and-space following an apparent TLD should be treated as not part of the
URL, although it's too burdensome to have LO check if a domain label is a known
or actually proposed TLD listed at iana.org or icann.org.

If a URL ends with a TLD, it may be followed by a period or not without
changing the URL. (I forgot which RFC says so.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139376] Heading numbering style changed after clear paragraph formatting followed by undo

2021-02-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139376

This seems to be already present in Libreoffice 3.3.0, though I tested on
windows.

Description:

Numbered list items having heading formatting display wrong numbering after
formatting clear/undo while the file is still open.

Saving then reopening file will solve the problem and display everything the
right way.

---
Steps to test:

1. Open attachment above:
it has:
One Level1 list item (having Heading1 format) (it starts numbering with number
4) and
Eight Level2 list items (numbering 4.1 to 4.8) (having Heading2 format):

2. CTRL+A
3. Clear formatting in paragraph style selector in toolbar (not clear df)
4. CTRL+Z

5. Result:
The eight Level2 list items will SHOW as Level1 numbering (5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12)
consecutive to Level1 item (4).

- Click on any one of those eight list items (for example, the phrase "Empty
Boiler Condensate bucket") and notice status bar reference (it is STILL Outline
Numbering: Level 2)

6. Save file
7. Reload file
8. Result: everything is as original: Headings and numbering outline levels
(4.1 to 4.8).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139296] scrolling document canvas down & up can cause a line of text to "tear" with loss of registration, it clears when the line moves out of view far enough or view passes to

2021-02-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139296

--- Comment #50 from spokanemagn...@gmail.com ---
Significant new clues on the text tearing issue when scrolling or editing text:
• It does not seem to occur with the zoom factor set to ≤100% (with or
without the sidebar displayed).
• It does randomly occur with the zoom factor set to >100% (with or without
the sidebar displayed).
• It does occur with the zoom factor set to Fit Width (156% with the
sidebar hidden, or 117% with the sidebar displayed). The former is my usual,
preferred setting, as per all my previous postings on this issue.
• It does occur, albeit far less frequently and far less dramatically, with
the zoom factor set to Optimal (197% with hidden sidebar), but it also does not
seem to occur under those conditions with the sidebar displayed (148%).

The last three points are curious. Why would enlarging the workspace to Fit
Width (156% with the sidebar hidden, or 117% with the sidebar displayed) cause
the issue but using the Optimal setting (197% with the sidebar hidden, or 148%
with the sidebar displayed) seem not cause it?

Verified previous means of manifesting the problem:
• It can be replicated most easily by using the scroll up/down buttons,
although it also does it using the scroll bar grab handle, the mouse scroll
wheel, and/or the laptop touch pad.

Verified means of correcting the torn text problem (not a fix, a band-aid):
• It can be made to correct itself by clicking on either the Toggle
Automatic Spell Checking or Toggle Formatting Marks buttons, Reloading the
page, scrolling the page up/down until the damaged text is off-screen, or by
Viewing the sidebar if it was previously hidden.

Means of seemingly limiting the frequency and severity of the issue (not a fix,
a band-aid):
• Do not use the default templates in the United States because the
templates use A4 paper instead of the correct Letter size (8½ ʺ×11ʺ). This was
another reported bug that has yet to be addressed.
• Do not use the Page Format Margins setting of Normal (0.75ʺ) because the
right margin is inexplicably set to 0.79ʺ instead of 0.75ʺ. This bug was
reported as part of the aforementioned one about the Letter size issue.
• Increase the font size above 10 point.
• Increase the line spacing beyond the preset single or 1.15 settings
(prefer using the Fixed Custom Line Spacing to be at least 2 pts > the font
size).
• Do not use the bizarre, non-integer default Heading sizes (e.g., Heading1
of 18.2 pt and Heading2 of 16.1 pt). Instead, use integer (non-fractional) font
sizes and line spacing.
• Do not use Smooth Scroll as it operates opposite of what’s indicated by
the checkbox. This was 100% repeatable under the circumstances I indicated in
yet another bug report, but it was dismissed as unverifiable. In this case, it
seems to have a minor affect on the text tearing as well, as without it the
problem seems to occurred less frequently and produces far less distortion of
the characters.

So, the overall analysis seems to be that the larger the zoom setting, the
worse the problem gets—except most notably when using the Optimal setting. It
may be that the problem exists with negative zoom increments, but it’s simply
too hard to see. Also, the larger the font size and line spacing the less
frequent and severe the issue seems to be. Other factors, as outlined in the
bullet list directly above, may also play some role in the occurrence and
repeatability of the issue.

File causing Calc to crash

This is a file causing Calc to crash during loading, obtained by first filling
data in the BN column, typing "=COUNTIF(BN4:BN6;0)" then removing the data and
saving the file.

That's because of your locale. You should type "=COUNTIF(BM5:BM9;0)" using the
semicolon separator, not the comma.

I tried en_ZA, I can reproduce it with:

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community
