[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139713] UI Footnote/endnote settings dialog caption
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139713 --- Comment #2 from Adolfo Jayme --- I disagree. “Footnotes and Endnotes Settings” ⤔ first, in English you don’t pluralize adjectival constructions, just the noun. Then, the conjunction “and” implies you are modifying settings for both kinds of notes, when in actuality settings apply to both kinds and you may have only one kind of notes in your document, so the slash works better there. Third, this is much longer and will take more space in localized versions of the software. Fourth, this creates more churn for localizers and documenters. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131025] Writer document with tables lost data in cells (apparently) replacing with 0
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131025 --- Comment #23 from Tom --- Still problem in 7.0.4.2 - table cell values change to "0" after a save & reload cycle. However, the problem seems to be only with tables that have a Table Style applied and/or those that have cell format applied. Plain "vanilla" tables with unedited formatting are saved as expected. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a new Writer document 2. Insert a table (3x4) 3. Populate cells with some text (e.g. A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, ...) 4. Save & Reload * PASS: all OK 5. Apply "Elegant" Table Style to the table 6. Save & Reload * FAIL: this time cells that were not blank were saved as "0" (apart from the values in first row & first column which were preserved in my case). 7. Edit the cells again 8. Save & Reload * PASS: after re-editing the values it was saved as expected 9. Now apply another ("Financial") style to the table 10. Save & Reload * FAIL: the cells are again forced to "0" (again, all apart from the first row & the first column). Note that when this happens, the original data is lost since the affected cells are saved with '0' as the value. The worrying thing is that even a backup file won't help much because this happens silently. This means, the user may not be even aware that parts of the document (some table cells) have been silently replaced with zeros until the next time she/he is going through all the tables in the affected document. Just thinking - shouldn't LO at least warn that there was a problem with converting values (text to number in the above case), I don't feel this should be allowed to happen silently without some sort of warning - imagine this happens to a commercial document, an invoice, terms sheet, etc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139838] The behavior of the border picker is sometimes off
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139838 --- Comment #3 from Telesto --- Created attachment 169464 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=169464&action=edit Screencast (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #2) > Me smells bike-shedding, and while I neither see the benefit of the third > state there is/was likely a reason to introduce it. I have no clue how people managing enabling/disabling borders.. I surely use the border picker.. and I surely get frustrated So for me it's not 'trivial'/ bike-shedding. I survive, but keeps being annoying. But depends if you use tables (A) & (B) configure borders manually (or template). (C) how often this occurs). Disabling borders I like pretty common (see templates). Different border settings also. The third state is not totally 'superfluous'. At least, click an existing border (single) (selected). And change formatting (does work).. If it word the whole cycling third borders is different question.. The major problem, you can't move to any other 'border'.. The new formatting is 'new setting'. So every border selected subsequentially will be reformatted. This is a feature (and a bug) at the same time :-( In Atlantis Word processor and Word this works differently (screencast). So 'uncoupling' formatting border settings and actually applying the formatting already an improvement. Except there still the issue that you can't see the 'current border formatting settings' So CTRL+CLICK Border showing current. And direct click adjust? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140148] New: Some dialogs disappear if the main window loses focus and this renders LO unusable with some mouse focus policies
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140148 Bug ID: 140148 Summary: Some dialogs disappear if the main window loses focus and this renders LO unusable with some mouse focus policies Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: dav1dblunk...@hotmail.com Description: The find and replace dialogs and the standard filter dialogs (and probably others) vanish if another main LO window gets focused. This makes life very hard for some desktop mouse policies (eg focus under mouse / focus follows mouse). For instance, I have several windows open including two or more LO windows and the are not maximised. If I call up one of these dialogues it may appear somewhere on the screen that does not overlap with my current LO window. If this occurs I need to move the mouse from the LO window to the dialog to use it. If the mouse crosses another LO window (which will momentarily get mouse focus) the dialog disappears. The way to rectify this is to either maximise the LO window (which is irritating if you're trying to move information from document to document) or create a stepping stone trail of non LO windows between the LO window and the likely location of the dialog box. It's infuriating. Steps to Reproduce: Choose an appropriate mouse focus policy: eg focus follow mouse. Start two or more LO calc windows, position so that the dialog boxes will appear not over the current LO window. Call up one of these transient dialogs. Cross the other LO window with the mouse on the way to the dialog. The dialog vanishes. Actual Results: The dialog vanishes. Expected Results: The dialog shouldn't vanish or should somehow remain tethered to the original LO window Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: no other information - I put linux only but this is really related to window focus policy so affects all unixs but probably not mac or windows -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
