https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76259 --- Comment #10 from QA Administrators --- Dear Dr. David Alan Gilbert, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141955] New: Dire kerning with default font, on Linux
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141955 Bug ID: 141955 Summary: Dire kerning with default font, on Linux Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.7.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: nichola...@posteo.net Description: With the default font, on a barely altered template and indeed an instance of LibreOffice in which I have changed fairly few settings, sometimes the kerning is diabolical. See the screenshot that I will attach. Steps to Reproduce: Uncertain. As my screenshot shows, the problem affects only some instances of the relevant letters. Actual Results: See screenshot and specifically the second line and within that line the gap between the 'p' and the 'a' in the word 'grandparent'. Expected Results: I expect - in the normative sense (this is what should happen) and the predictive sense (I imagine that it would happen) - kerning that was not as disastrously, distractingly bad as it actually was. You can't have a word processor that does this. It's completely deal-breaking. Reproducible: Sometimes User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: PS: The text on this page about adding an attachment 'once the bug is filled' makes little sense - it is either bad English for 'when you have filled in the fields above' or else 'filed' is meant. I do not have OpenGL enabled. Er, I think. This webpage should tell the user where to look for that setting. The orange shapes should be essentially different. The two slides have the same geometry besides the rotation angle of the orange shape has 44deg in one slide and 45deg in the other slide. The blue shape has the same geometry than the orange one, but is not rotated. PowerPoint uses for shapes, which have rotation angle in 45..135 and 225..315 degree not the original shape rectangle, but a basic rectangle, which is rotated by 90deg. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105550] FORMATTING Pasting text changes paragraph format in older LO document
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105550 --- Comment #15 from Ulrich Gemkow --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #14) > But if the paragraph is empty with Default PS, isn't it a convenience > feature to keep the source style? Pretty easy to paste without styles anyway. This may be convenient but the usability costs are IMHO too high. Copying characters from a paragraph to another should not change the targets paragraphs style. Side node on copying paragraph styles: Old MS word (sorry for referencing this) had a notion of a paragraph style char at the end of each paragraph (a mirrored P). Copying this special charactr (with or without preceding characters) copied the paragraph style. This is IHMO a good solution. But please look at the original bug report: The bug is that copying characters from a paragraph in an existing document in the _same_ paragraph in the _same_ document changes the style of this paragraph - I cannot imagine any explanation that this can be correct. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Only difference between my installation and the release for download is that I am linking against the current macOS SDK. Is there any possibilty to provide a custom tarball for testing? I think the LO tarball is too large for an attachment to this ticket. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141952] New: Display and width of side panels
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141952 Bug ID: 141952 Summary: Display and width of side panels Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: bentus...@yahoo.fr Description: It seems sidepanel have been redesigned from v.7. It is much clearer an "in the state of art" now but i was very sorry they can't be shrinked as before so the main document window could be set wide enough. It is especially annoying when "right" / "style" panel is displayed along "navigator" panel on the other side. Both can reduce main document (in Writer or Calc) to some half the screen width. But it is very annoying when trying to work on two different documents tiled windows. Thus, with last update (manjaro) it seems that navigator window can't be tiled to the window's edge to become a panel anymore... crazyness ! doing so oblige user to tile navigator as a separate window, reducing the top toolbar width and add copmlexity in weindows navigation (alt+tab). Please could one fix these small settings to something as user friendly as previous v.6 ??? Thanks Steps to Reproduce: 1. open two writers documents and tile the two windows side by side. 2. open style panel on the right side (shrink at max to reduce it's own witdth) and navigator as a panel on the left side (now it seem navigator can't be paneled anymore) 3. set zoom to "optimal width" and try to work on the text !!! :) (especially on low resolution screens) Actual Results: not user friendly for "hard working" on Writer's multiple documents (copy texte frome one to another for instance), or take notes on the go on complex hierarchized document during online lessons... Expected Results: side panels would be shrinkable to the boreder so main document frame could be displayed wider. Plus : arrows to expand side panel could be reduced or moved in iam to gain few (10-20) pixels of display. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: none -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136289] Control image transparency by a gradient
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136289 Regina Henschel changed: What|Removed |Added CC||rb.hensc...@t-online.de --- Comment #2 from Regina Henschel --- Currently opacity is applied to the background of an image element, same as for all other graphic elements. For an image this is only visible, if the image itself has transparent parts. That is demonstrated in the attachment. We have already the "Filter" as image-manipulating feature. I see this "feature" as a relic from the early days of StarOffice, 25 years ago, when there was also an image editing module integrated. I dislike the idea to add another image editing feature. Nowadays we have excellent image editing applications, even free, that I see no necessity to add such feature to an office application. Instead, I would rather advocate removing the other image editing capabilities from LibreOffice. Having a feature always mean, that it needs to be maintained, which binds developer capacity. And for doing similar inside LibreOffice, there exists two workarounds: A) You can put the transparency gradient on the text shape. B) You can convert the image "to contour" and apply a transparency gradient then. And for a quick access to an external image editing application, the context menu of an image has got the item "Edit with External Tool". So my take for this is a "wont fix". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I am using the Tabbed interface and sometimes I enable the MenuBar (alongside the Tabs). Whenever the MenuBar is enable, pasting occurs twice in any LO component. The line shifting cannot be captured in a screenshot because it's transitory, so only a video would be able to show the lines shifting vertically. The other symptoms have been written up a number of times in the past as text tearing, although that term does not adequately encompass the three related issues. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116384] Drag-select email address grabs & moves first letter (gtk2 and gtk3)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116384 --- Comment #10 from Caolán McNamara --- The difference between gen and gtk3 is that in gen the default mnStartDragWidth value is 2, so if the mouse moves 2 pixels from the click site it turns into a drag event but under gtk it comes from the system gtk-dnd-drag-threshold setting which is 8 pixels for me. The gtk one is large enough to allow the first letter of the draggable hyperlink to be selected before it turns into a "drag". If I change the gen one to be 8 the same effect occurs, and if I change the gtk one to be 2 it behaves the same as how gen works with 2. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121659] FILESAVE DOCX Manual Column Break is lost after exported
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121659 --- Comment #17 from NISZ LibreOffice Team --- After a bit of extra investigation into the issue it looks like this is really a file open issue. In the original example the problem is with the image being anchored before the column break in the same paragraph as the very first run, then comes the column break and then some text. However adding a letter in front of the anchoring point in Word so that the image is not placed at the beginning of its paragraph as first run fixes all our woes that start with opening the file: the shape appears in the correct location (this is not detailed in the original report) and saving the file does not remove the column break. So the idea we consider is to create an extra empty paragraph in this situation before the break, so that the shape can be anchored to it. This should not hurt the visual appearance even after a roundtrip. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
