Dear Chris Sherlock,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Yep, that's why I wrote in the original message:

Do you mean something else than using thumbnails? What ideas do you have? It
sounds interesting.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70710] [WMF] FILEOPEN Filled areas are not filled for WMF images

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70710

Original file is a WMF with 6 ESCAPE records at the start of the file.
Those ESCAPE records embed EMF content into WMF.
The EMF itself has bunch of EMF+ records and according to the EmfPlusHeader in
the first of them it's supposed to be "EMF/EMF+ dual" file, hence content
should be the same in EMF and EMF+ records.

For the analysis the following files were created from original (#0) file:
- #1 "pure WMF" with all ESCAPE records removed
- #2 EMF/EMF+ extracted from ESCAPE records
- #3 "pure EMF" with EMF+ records removed from #2
- #4 WMF with ESCAPE records only

Observed behavior of MS Paint and PowerPoint (mac):
#0 -- all colors are presented
#1 -- all colors are presented
#2 -- all colors are missed
#3 -- all colors are presented
#4 -- empty picture

Conclusions part A:
- there is something wrong with EMF+ part inside of EMF inside of WMF
- MS Paint and PowerPoint (mac) ignore EMF/EMF+ part of the WMF file (no
rendering of "ESCAPE only" #4 file, no problem with original #0 file)

Observed behavior of LO 7.2 master (May 11, 2021):
#0 -- all colors are missed
#1 -- all colors are presented
#2 -- all colors are missed
#3 -- all colors are presented except those at the bottom
#4 -- all colors are missed

Conclusions part B:
- LO tries to use (presumably superior) EMF and (presumably superior) EMF+ in
it, which leads to missing colors in #0, #2 and drawing colorless image in #4
- there is another unidentified bug that prevents LO from rendering some colors
for #3 ("pure EMF") file

Suggestions:
- validate behavior with those files in other MS implementations (MSO on win
etc)
- change LO to ignore EMF/EMF+ in WMF files
- investigate the smaller problem with #3

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142293] New: EDATE function problem in a file saved as Excel format

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142293

Bug ID: 142293
Summary: EDATE function problem in a file saved as Excel format
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: yan...@gmail.com

Description:
If you save the spreadsheet as Excel format while your text language is
Turkish, EDATE function will be converted to a function like
com.sun.star.sheet.addİn.analysİs.getedate.

If EDATE is used as an single formula, it will continue to display the correct
date.

https://i.postimg.cc/3wF3JQ1V/Single.png

But, if EDATE is used in a nested formula, it will give #NAME? error.

https://i.postimg.cc/43gJgx6p/Nested.png

(My surmise : Something in LibreOffice text language engines, makes some faults
when converting cases to upper or lower?!)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Calc.
2. Select text language as Turkish from the lowest bar.
3. Make a formula that used EDATE function in it.
4. Save the file as Excel format.
5. Close file and reopen it.

Actual Results:
EDATE turns into com.sun.star.sheet.addİn.analysİs.getedate.

Expected Results:
EDATE should be stay as EDATE.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

For any Skia deny list handling we would need to know the driver details for
your Vulkan driver details, not the packaging details.

A utility program like GLview [1] will have the Skia Vulkan API & Driver
details.

If Vulkan does not abort out, the skia.log in the user profile will include the
device and driver details.

For example my daily driver has a nVidia Quadro K2000 (slightly older than your
K620) with the nVidia 461.92 GeForce Drivers (27.21.14.6192 DCH pkg)--but its
Vulkan API compliance is 1.2.155, and its nVidia Vulkan driver version is
461.368.0

The deny list has to work with these internal values.

With that commit it also works on abbreviated month names and all day names.
For example,

  [NatNum12 MMM=capitalize]MMM

or

  [NatNum12 DDD=capitalize]DDD

There's possible contradiction between description and comment 10: "This
started (I think) with version 7.0" vs. "this is not reproducible in 7.0.6.2".
Perhaps it's just a lapse of memory from the reporter, but it might mean the
bug could depend on something else as well.

Interesting. I confirm that Calc doesn't show anything in Print Preview if you
just create borders for cells (without any data in cells). It shows just "No
data".

MS Excel shows all pages with borders in its Print Preview

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137349] Writer : Months and days are lowercase with French locale

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137349

Day and month names of formatted date values depend on the locale, for French
fr-FR those are all lower case, so this is expected.

However, to force capitalization the NatNum12 modifier and rules can be used,
which here would be

  [NatNum12 =capitalize]

and

  [NatNum12 NNN=capitalize]NNN

Note that forced capitalization may be equally wrong in some locales that for
example *always* use lower case names even in such calendar context.

If you want to display the dates in always the same locale then in the number
formatter select a fixed language/locale instead of the default locale.

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137349

Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version):

In Writer : Problem with → Format → Text → Shift Every Word
In a table, on multiple cells this command works fine.
After saving and closing the text document when reopening the file the
capitalization is only found on some words (in some cells) or not capitalized
at all.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. from Calc "Paste as nested tables" into Writer
2. In Writer select the cells in the row
3. shift to every word (no problem ...)
4. save / close /
5. open / caps not preserved

"Shift" here seems to mean capitalize (first character of a word).
