https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142996 Bug ID: 142996 Summary: Copy large cell range in Calc is very slow (20s in Calc vs 1s in Excel) Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.3.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: suokunl...@126.com It is very slow for the copy operation in Calc. Copying a large cell range from an ODS file takes 20s in Calc, while the same data if exported to xlsx and open in MS Excel it only takes 1s. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the ODS file in attachment 168721. 2. Go to tab "Raw Data", select cell range A1:AD67920. 3. Ctrl+C to copy the selected data into clipboard. --> 20s for copy operation to finish. 4. Resave the file as XLSX, and try to copy the same range using MS Excel. --> 1s for the copy operation to finish. Current Behaviour: It take around 20s for the copy operation. Expected Behaviour: The data should be copied into clipboard within 1 or 2 seconds, as it is in Excel. This is just one example - the size of the range is not that big. In fact in real case I usually have larger worksheets and the copy may take several minutes. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142993] New: Sampling with replacement should still allow "keep order"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142993 Bug ID: 142993 Summary: Sampling with replacement should still allow "keep order" Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.6.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: stephane.guil...@member.fsf.org Description: When using the Sampling tool, the options "With replacement" and "Keep order" are exclusive. Ticking one unticks the other one. The user should be able to create a sample with replacement while still conserving the order they appear in. The UX would also improve as the two choices currently use tickboxes that make it look like both can be ticked at the same time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Calc 2. Create a range of values, for example the sequence 1 to 10 in the range A1:A10 3. Select said range 4. Open the sampling dialogue: Data > Statistics > Sampling... 5. Input range should be the selected range 6. Results to: B1 7. Sample size: any value above 1 8. Sampling method: Random 9. Tick "With replacement" and "Keep order" Actual Results: The two option are exclusive. Ticking one unticks the other. Expected Results: The two options don't need to be exclusive: one might want sampling to happen with replacement, but still keeping the values in the original order. For example: - Sample the sequence: 1, 3, 2, 4 - Use "With replacement" and "Keep order" and a sample size of 6 - Get an output like: 1, 1, 1, 2, 4, 4 Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Tested on: Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: e3086b58eb5427d520b86c185f9d911bb6f7a3a0 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@86-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2021-06-21_15:37:11 Calc: threaded and: Version: 7.2.0.0.beta1 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: c6974f7afec4cd5195617ae48c6ef9aacfe85ddd CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded and: Version: 7.0.6.2 Build ID: 144abb84a525d8e30c9dbbefa69cbbf2d8d4ae3b CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140961 Regina Henschel changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW --- Comment #13 from Regina Henschel --- I see in LO -> docx -> LO roundtrip, that all of frame, drawing object text (which has icon 'A' in the UI) and custom shape with connected frame (called 'text box' in the UI) result in a custom shape with connected frame. LibreOffice writes it so to file, that it cannot know the original object type on reopening. Softmaker uses the a:ext element to write additional information into the file, that it can use on reopening. I can image some improvement in LO -> docx -> roundtrip: Establish a better heuristic on import, to detect whether it could be a frame, e.g. prstGeom="rect" without rotation but rich content. Use the a:ext element to write additional information to the file. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142988 Bug ID: 142988 Summary: LibreOffice Writer removes bold and underlined formatting after saving and closing a file Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.7.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jonathonp...@yahoo.com Description: I am using LibreOffice Writer on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS to make notes in a standard '.odt' file format. Lately I notice that when I apply formatting like bold and underline to text to the file and I save and close the file and then re-open it the formatting is just gone! I should note this does not happen with text (which saves normally) just my formatting. I don't notice any errors or issues and am unsure how to proceed. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open an .odt file and write text 2.Use the buttons to apply underline and bold to text 3.save and close file. Then re-open Actual Results: The file opened with the previous formatting removed. Expected Results: Saved the formatting and kept it so I could see the text remained bold and underlined. You say that only images anchored > as character are treated as track changes and you say, that inserting an > image or drag-n-drop it from file manager will anchor the image as character > (I agree). So with both methods LO record these changes. No, I said inserted images are anchored "To Character" and such images are not change tracked. Images anchored "As character" are. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142954] CALC addressing Enhancement
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142954 --- Comment #7 from Simon --- (In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #1) > Do you known about Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice calc/Formula/Formula > syntax - Excel R1C1. > > And maybe named ranges with relative address, not absolute, can help also. Just an update spent yesterday applying relative named ranges to my models. I did not understand them fully at first, and did not realise that the reference was relative to the base address (which is current selection). I think this is largely undocumented in CALC - I didn't find it anyway. Only when my models blew up with circular ref error did I twig that the row references could be relative to the current selection. This discovery obviates the need for additional columns of lagged data I mentioned in my first reply. So overall, the mixed absolute and relative referencing in named ranges has solved my problem. The shorter equation now looks like this =EXP( DMOD_0+ DMOD_1 * LN( CasesSw_L1 / CasesSw_L2 ) * (1 + Variant_DEA2 * Variant_DEA) +DMOD_2 * LN( CasesSw_L2 ) +DMOD_3 * LN(MAX(1%, HospLoad_L2)) +DMOD_4 * LN(MAX(1, Deaths_L1 )) *(1 + Variant_DEA1 * Variant_DEA) + DMOD_5 * LN( Vac_Delayed ) + DMOD_6 * LN( Health_Trend ) ) Which to me, at least, is now perfectly readable. This is a powerful way to structure your spreadsheets, a pity that almost no-one knows about it. What it needs is a tutorial in the guide written by a non-geek. I don't mean that offensively, but by someone who is interested in the application of a spreadsheet to solve a problem, rather than an IT outlook. THANK YOU for the suggestion once again.
