Bug ID: 142997
   Summary: [EMF+] stringAlignmentHorizontalOffset is incorrect
for StringFormat StringAlign set to 'center' or 'far'
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Description:
LO calculates incorrect value for stringAlignmentHorizontalOffset.
It seems to become worse with larger font sizes.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open attached EMF sample.

Actual Results:
LO draws "H Align center H" and "H Align far " lines progressively shifted
to the left from their expected positions.

Expected Results:
'Align center' string should be centered, 'Align far' string should be right
aligned with the 'scale'.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I was not able to reproduce in a branch of master with my fix for bug 141709
applied, this may be a duplicate. However, I am testing on Linux and this
report is for Windows, so I won't change the status.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142996] New: Copy large cell range in Calc is very slow (20s in Calc vs 1s in Excel)

2021-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142996

Bug ID: 142996
Summary: Copy large cell range in Calc is very slow (20s in
Calc vs 1s in Excel)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: suokunl...@126.com

It is very slow for the copy operation in Calc. Copying a large cell range from
an ODS file takes 20s in Calc, while the same data if exported to xlsx and open
in MS Excel it only takes 1s.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the ODS file in attachment 168721.
2. Go to tab "Raw Data", select cell range A1:AD67920.
3. Ctrl+C to copy the selected data into clipboard.
--> 20s for copy operation to finish.

4. Resave the file as XLSX, and try to copy the same range using MS Excel.
--> 1s for the copy operation to finish.

Current Behaviour:
It take around 20s for the copy operation.

Expected Behaviour:
The data should be copied into clipboard within 1 or 2 seconds, as it is in
Excel.

This is just one example - the size of the range is not that big. In fact in
real case I usually have larger worksheets and the copy may take several
minutes.

Version: 7.1.5.0.0+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 8619e743564a241eb951866616aec82e1ab3965f

Dear Alex,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142993] New: Sampling with replacement should still allow "keep order"

2021-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142993

Bug ID: 142993
Summary: Sampling with replacement should still allow "keep
order"
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stephane.guil...@member.fsf.org

Description:
When using the Sampling tool, the options "With replacement" and "Keep order"
are exclusive. Ticking one unticks the other one.

The user should be able to create a sample with replacement while still
conserving the order they appear in.

The UX would also improve as the two choices currently use tickboxes that make
it look like both can be ticked at the same time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Calc
2. Create a range of values, for example the sequence 1 to 10 in the range
A1:A10
3. Select said range
4. Open the sampling dialogue: Data > Statistics > Sampling...
5. Input range should be the selected range
6. Results to: B1
7. Sample size: any value above 1
8. Sampling method: Random
9. Tick "With replacement" and "Keep order"

Actual Results:
The two option are exclusive. Ticking one unticks the other.

Expected Results:
The two options don't need to be exclusive: one might want sampling to happen
with replacement, but still keeping the values in the original order.
For example:
- Sample the sequence: 1, 3, 2, 4
- Use "With replacement" and "Keep order" and a sample size of 6
- Get an output like: 1, 1, 1, 2, 4, 4

   ||size greater than 100
 Blocks||111310

Whatever settings are used (as long as there are enough values to pick from
according to settings), if the sample size is bigger than 100, it switches back
to a maximum of 100.

Minimal reproducible steps from scratch:

1. Open Calc
2. Fill a range with numbers (for example the sequence 1 to 10 in range A1:A10)
3. Select range with numbers
4. Menu: Data > Statistics > Sampling...
5. The "Input range" should be the one previously selected
6. Results to: B1
7. Sampling method: Random
8. Tick "With replacement" (so numbers in the sample can be reused)
9. Input a Sample size greater than 100 (for example 105)
10. Click out of the Size field (by clicking into another field, or clicking
OK)

Actual results:
The sample size is reset to a maximum of 100.

Expected results:
Any number is kept, as "With replacement" is ticked and therefore the sample
size is not limited.

I see in LO -> docx -> LO roundtrip, that all of frame, drawing object text
(which has icon 'A' in the UI) and custom shape with connected frame (called
'text box' in the UI) result in a custom shape with connected frame.

LibreOffice writes it so to file, that it cannot know the original object type
on reopening.

Softmaker uses the a:ext element to write additional information into the file,
that it can use on reopening.

I can image some improvement in LO -> docx -> roundtrip:
Establish a better heuristic on import, to detect whether it could be a frame,
e.g. prstGeom="rect" without rotation but rich content.
Use the a:ext element to write additional information to the file. Word does
this a lot in using namespace "o:".

2021-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

should be more distant than the icons
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.8.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jerome.bo...@laposte.net

The user is using more frequently the icons of a group than its textual menu.

Maybe the icons of group should be closer from the center of the window than
the textual menu of the same group. Then the textual should be on the top line
of each group instead of the bottom line.

Summation of 2/3 terms won't really benefit much from Kahan.
Let's hope there are not much extreme cases.
tokenizer falls out of range of my knowledge. And also have to finish Kahan AVX
once I finish my exams and some starmath related projects.

Maybe it would be wise to modify the function wizard and specify in the
description of SUM function that Kahan is being used. That they're different
things and also notice in the documentation. Affectd file:

This is not really a duplicate because these are already the same list.

"Continue Numbering" has now changed to "Add to List". Since it is already the
same list, that therefore does nothing.

Since they are already on the same list, I don't see it making any sense to
turn off "Restart Numbering" just because you have chosen "Add to List". So I'm
marking this as NOTABUG.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142988] New: LibreOffice Writer removes bold and underlined formatting after saving and closing a file

2021-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142988

Bug ID: 142988
Summary: LibreOffice Writer removes bold and underlined
formatting after saving and closing a file
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jonathonp...@yahoo.com

Description:
I am using LibreOffice Writer on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS to make notes in a standard
'.odt' file format.

Lately I notice that when I apply formatting like bold and underline to text to
the file and I save and close the file and then re-open it the formatting is
just gone!

I should note this does not happen with text (which saves normally) just my
formatting. I don't notice any errors or issues and am unsure how to proceed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open an .odt file and write text
2.Use the buttons to apply underline and bold to text
3.save and close file. Then re-open

Actual Results:
The file opened with the previous formatting removed.

Expected Results:
Saved the formatting and kept it so I could see the text remained bold and
underlined.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
I am not saving the file in the documents folder but in a separate project
folder - I notice this issue does not seem to occur in the documents folder for
some reason?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57599] Stop overlapping images

The default behaviour is still "Allow overlap". I think it should be changed as
"No overlap" as default. I can't think of the usage of having completely
overlapped images as default when inserting several images at once.

I have tested this with LibreOffice Writer ver 7.0.3.1 under Ubuntu 18.04 and
Windows 10:

No, I said inserted images are anchored "To Character" and such images are not
change tracked.
Images anchored "As character" are.

This changed recently with:
https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/68b6004fe9df184bcbaf46dd53abfec228219df6
tdf#141994 track changes: record insertion of images

Now inserted images are anchored "As Character" if TC is enabled, so change
tracking of inserted images now magically happens :).

Basically I forgot about already filing bug 141994.

Bug ID: 142986
Summary: Problem with Data - Statistics - Sampling option
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ajc...@gmail.com

Description:
When using the Data - Statistics - Sampling option, I select a range (for
example from Sheet1.$A$2:$A1001) and select sample of 218 rows, in version
6.1.5.2 it shows all 218 rows. As of version 6.4.0.3 or after, they only
display 100 records.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Source sheet with 1000 rows
2. A destination sheet where I will place the result.
3. Select input range (all of the 1000 rows)
4. Select the destination (first cell on the destination sheet)
5. Select 218 at the random method.

Actual Results:
On version 6.1.5.2 I obtain 218 rows
On version 6.4.0.3 I obtain 100 rows

Expected Results:
The same numbers of results that I want, not only 100.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142954] CALC addressing Enhancement

2021-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142954

(In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #1)
> Do you known about Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice calc/Formula/Formula

> And maybe named ranges with relative address, not absolute, can help also.

Just an update spent yesterday applying relative named ranges to my models. I
did not understand them fully at first, and did not realise that the reference
was relative to the base address (which is current selection). I think this is
largely undocumented in CALC - I didn't find it anyway. Only when my models
blew up with circular ref error did I twig that the row references could be
relative to the current selection. This discovery obviates the need for
additional columns of lagged data I mentioned in my first reply.

So overall, the mixed absolute and relative referencing in named ranges has
solved my problem. The shorter equation now looks like this
=EXP( DMOD_0+ DMOD_1 * LN( CasesSw_L1 / CasesSw_L2 ) * (1 + Variant_DEA2
*  Variant_DEA) +DMOD_2 * LN( CasesSw_L2 ) +DMOD_3 * LN(MAX(1%,
HospLoad_L2)) +DMOD_4 * LN(MAX(1, Deaths_L1 )) *(1 + Variant_DEA1 *
Variant_DEA) + DMOD_5 * LN( Vac_Delayed ) + DMOD_6 * LN( Health_Trend
) )

Which to me, at least, is now perfectly readable.

This is a powerful way to structure your spreadsheets, a pity that almost
no-one knows about it. What it needs is a tutorial in the guide written by a
non-geek. I don't mean that offensively, but by someone who is interested in
the application of a spreadsheet to solve a problem, rather than an IT outlook.

THANK YOU for the suggestion once again.
I could mark this as Resolved - what do you think?
