I confirm the described behaviour with

Version: 7.1.4.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: a529a4fab45b75fefc5b6226684193eb000654f6
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL

but I would treat it as enhancement and not as a bug and I'm not sure if it is
possible or not

Bug 97801 is a about missing page numbers in xhtml export. I would expect
consistency here: Either we have page numbers in both file-formats or in none
of them. And additional question for me is: What do you expect for page numbers
in cross references?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143032] New: CRASH (assertion failed) when typing a format string in DBGUTIL build

2021-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143032

Bug ID: 143032
Summary: CRASH (assertion failed) when typing a format string
in DBGUTIL build
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

It happens in any place where it's possible to use format strings; e.g., in
Writer's Date fields. These steps use Calc as an example.

0. Use DBGUTIL build.
1. In a Calc document, open Cell Format dialog.
2. Start typing the format string ""

Assertion is failed as soon as the last doublequote is typed -> crash.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139425] FILEOPEN PPTX: strange polygon artefact

2021-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Created attachment 173129

MS PowerPoint, bottome left corner scaled up

If you select this shape in LO, you will see that its BBox is a small square in
the bottom left corner.

If you now open this PPTX file in MS PowerPoint and try to select an area in
the bottom left corner of the slide, you will select some "empty" square.
Scale it up and you will see a very tiny version of the same shape.

Navigator in LO lists it as "Autoshape 197".

Most likely LO ignores/doesn't understand/fails to convert transformation
matrix for that shape. Or maybe misunderstands units (meters instead of
millimeters?).

Someone skilled in MOOX could be able to say more.

Also see additional facets to this DOC series of patches in bug 123405 and more
importantly in bug 104239.

I have no intention of backporting any of this. It needs a lot of QA review.

A similar set of patches is going into DOCX. See bug 141966 and bug 141964
which it depends on.

Dear Christian Pietzsch,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Dear sergio.callegari,

Please read this message in its entirety before proceeding.

Your bug report is being closed as INSUFFICIENTDATA due to inactivity and
a lack of information which is needed in order to accurately
reproduce and confirm the problem. We encourage you to retest
your bug against the latest release. If the issue is still
present in the latest stable release, we need the following
information (please ignore any that you've already provided):

a) Provide details of your system including your operating
system and the latest version of LibreOffice that you have
confirmed the bug to be present

b) Provide easy to reproduce steps – the simpler the better

c) Provide any test case(s) which will help us confirm the problem

d) Provide screenshots of the problem if you think it might help

e) Read all comments and provide any requested information

Once all of this is done, please set the bug back to UNCONFIRMED
and we will attempt to reproduce the issue. Please do not:

a) respond via email

b) update the version field in the bug or any of the other details
on the top section of our bug tracker

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93494] "Replace image" duplicates AutoCaption

2021-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93494

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Thanks for reporting this bug. I can reproduce the vertical text displacement
(by the way, they are technically not Kanjis -- which means Chinese/Han
characters -- but Hiraganas and Katakanas) with the attached sample file and
7.1.4, but do not reproduce with 7.2.0 Beta1.

So this is likely already fixed by the efforts of improving vertical text
display for Skia in the 7.2 development. Reporter jeandrof, please test with
either of the following two approaches to see if the problem is solved for you:

1. Disable Skia, by going to the View Options dialog (Tools > Options >
LibreOffice > View), and uncheck the "Use Skia for all rendering" checkbox,
then restart LibreOffice.

2. Download and install the 7.2.0 Beta1 version (it is a development build and
will install in a different place than your regular LibreOffice, so they can
co-exist and won't interfere with each other).

Either approach should solve your problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143013] Separate italic from oblique font family variants

2021-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143013

I disagree.

As described on the cited Wikipedia page:

> Oblique and italic type are technical terms to distinguish between the two
> ways of creating slanted font styles
> ...
> Few typefaces have both oblique and italic designs, as this is generally a
> fundamental design choice about how the font should look. A font designer
> normally decides to design their font with one or the other.

The two - italic vs oblique - are just internal technical method of creating a
slanted variant of the font, which will be the only one for a given font. The
"Few typefaces have both oblique and italic designs" is something esoteric, and
it would be interesting to find real samples; but even if they are found, their
existence does not justify increased complexity of UI for some crazy font
design case.

The "italic" term is well-established to not only relate to the strict
technical method, but also to more generic meaning of slanted font variant -
and LibreOffice uses this well-established, widely-accepted meaning - and let
it be this way.

Sorry, but without UX consensus to restore the positional UNICODE charmap and
the input buffer (bug 115477)--making the SCD modeless does not make sense.

Short of that, the configurable Recents/Favorites counts of the bug 120753
expanded split button are a better UI approach.

A single click away to select and place any of the recents or favorites.

file to reproduce the invalid docx document

Open attached file and export it to docx. Open the exported file in Word. Word
cannot read it. Reason is a duplicate element.

Some investigation:
DMLPresetShapeExporter::WriteShapeWithAVlist() calls WriteShapeTransformation
which writes the first element.
Then it calls GetAdjustmentPointXValue(0)

DMLPresetShapeExporter::GetAdjustmentPointXValue() calls
GetHandleValueOfModificationPoint(nPoint, u"RangeXMinimum")

That has a loop over all Name/Value pairs. In case of "bracePair" the loop will
find nothing, because they do not have "RangeXMinimum" but "RangeYMinimum".
Thus the return value is empty.

Back in GetHandleValueOfModificationPoint it makes a .get() on the empty return
value, which gives a runtime error. That is caught in WriteShapeWithAVlist and
makes it return 'false'.

With this 'false' the part after shapes.cxx#848 is entered. And that will write
in #873 the element again.

Here is another random page which is NOT centered and is also shrinked too
much. Only SOME pages are like this, others are enlarged to fit A4 size. This
is totally random to reproduce.

Here the dimensions of the paper written along the preview are wrong. Selected
paper size is A4, but written dimensions are user defined (on the preview
margins). So the two pages are shrinked two times their original size.

Hi,

I would like to revisit this and explain how it is not a duplicate of BUG
120753.

What I am suggesting is not more special characters in the favorites list. I am
asking for an enhancement that allows the Insert Special Character window to
stay open while moving through the document.

This is how Insert Cross-Reference window works.

I will explain why I think the Insert Special Character window would be better
if it behaved like the Insert Cross Reference window by using an example of my
workflow.

I often write technical documents on the subject of electronics. As such, I am
often writing things like, "As shown in Figure X, ..." and also typing symbols
(like Omega for Ohms.)

When I write, I prefer to not interrupt the flow of my thought process by
inserting these things as they come up. So no writing "Figure" and then
accessing the cross-reference menu. I literally type "Figure X" and go back
later to insert all the cross references at once.

I do the same for resistor values. I type "100k" and then return to insert the
Omega later. This allows me to not interrupt my train of thought by switching
tasks to insert these items.

With cross references, I can open the Insert Cross Reference window once,
scroll through the document looking for "Figure X" and replace the "X" with a
cross reference. The fact that the Insert Cross Reference window is non-modal
lets me do this.

With Insert Special Character, I have to navigate to where I want the
character. USe the menu to open the Insert Special Characters window. Insert
the special character.

Then... and this is the source of my frustration and the reason I'm asking for
the enhancement...

I have to close the window in order to navigate to the next place I want to
insert a special character. (The next resistor value.) I then have to access
the Insert Special Character menu again to insert another Omega.

With multiple special characters in one document, this results in a lot of what
I consider wasted effort of clicking menus. If the Insert Special Character
window would stay open while letting me navigate the document, it would save a
great deal of time.

I can't think of any downside to this modeless window behavior as this is
exactly the way the Insert Cross Reference window behaves.

Please let me know if more details are needed.

Thanks!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143027] New: PRINTING: Print (preview) wrong on Brochure with custom page size

2021-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143027

Bug ID: 143027
Summary: PRINTING: Print (preview) wrong on Brochure with
custom page size
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mihai.vasiliu...@gmail.com

Description:
This is a very tricky bug to explain, as its behaviour seems random to me, but
I will try my best.

I have a booklet fully written in LO Writer in odt format. The page size is
non-standard, 142x102mm, set accordingly in the page layout -> page size.

What I want is to print the booklet as a Brochure, using the option from the
print dialog box, at actual size on A4 paper. I mean NO scaling. Just 2 pages
side by size according to brochure rules.

If I select paper size A4 and Brochure, the orientation is now grayed-out (I
cannot select orientation) and the pages appear cropped in the preview. If I
print the pages they are printed cropped, like in the preview. See the images
attached.

What I expect is to be able to select my orentation, and thus the Brochure
pages to be centered on the A4 page. Not scaled, not moved, just in the center
at the page size of 142x102mm each.

Sometimes it gets worse when changing the print options from pages per sheet to
brochure and vice-versa.
The behaviour on the real-print and also the preview is acting randomly if the
paper size is changed.

Version: 7.1.4.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: a529a4fab45b75fefc5b6226684193eb000654f6
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: ro-RO (ro_RO); UI: en-US
Calc: CL

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attaced odt
2. Go to print dialog
3. Change to brochure
4. Inspect print preview
5. Change to pages per sheet (1 page), then change to brochure again. Inspect
print preview again.
6. Change paper size. Inspect print preview again.
7. Notice how it behaves and how the print preview and the actual print is
cropped. (You can print to PDF to confirm).

Actual Results:
Pages are cropped and not centered. Orientation dropdown is inactive.

Expected Results:
Orientation should be available to be changed. Pages should not exceed paper
bounds and be centered on the page, actual size.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

How useful is selecting an entire sheet including its full range of empty cells
really?

There are already keyboard and mouse click selections, but if you want it
simple to use Tools -> Customize and assign the .uno:SelectAll control to any
of the Context menus (though you'd probably want it on the Cell context menu).

Otherwise WFM and => WF for adding to Calc context menu by default.

No opinion about the request (so no confirmation), just replying to

My investigation suggests that the function

SdrModel& rModel)

in

https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/svx/source/svdraw/svdetc.cxx?r=541f94df#327

did get called when the test PDF file is open in Draw.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140253] Links in Index (at least manually set ones)

2021-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #3 from bruno.beisp...@t-online.de ---

> Sonds to me like a duplicate of bug 71385. Could you please check this?
> => NEEDINFO

The bug you linked is pretty similar to what I've reported.
In fact, my current problem would be solved if hyperlinks could be added in the
dialog, as described in the linked article, e.g. for tables of contents.
However, one thing would still not be possible: If I wanted to manually link
the index entry NOT to the page, but to another target (e.g. a website). I can
do that by allowing manual editing of the index and inserting the desired links
using the "normal" hyperlink function. But as soon as I update the index using
the "Update index" function, the manually inserted links are gone.
Or am I wrong?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143024] New: expand special character favorites count to 20 or 24

2021-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143024

Bug ID: 143024
Summary: expand special character favorites count to 20 or 24
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: traceyad2...@gmail.com

Description:
I want to be able to quickly enter: [Ā, ā, Ă, ă, Ē, ē, Ĕ, ĕ, Ī, ī, Ĭ, ĭ, Ō, ō,
Ŏ, ŏ, Ū, ū, Ŭ, ŭ] when needed.
Current special character count is 16

Both Spanish and French accented letters and punctuation are available by using
+(nnn), but character numbers 256 thru 259, 274 thru 277, 298
thru 335, and 362 thru 365 do not seem to work.

Entering bi-lingual phonic vocabulary (like: cero [Spanish] and SĔ-rō [English
transliteration] is slow.

Thanks, Tracey
If there is a way to enter characters from the special characters table using
the +nnn I would like to know how.

Actual Results:
expand special character favorites count is 16

Expected Results:
expand special character favorites count to 20 or 24

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)

Created attachment 173115
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=173115=edit
Try switching through the tablecontrol: Event "losing focus" never happens.

Open the attached database.
Open the form for input data.
Switch beginning with filed "Name" through the tablecontrol by tabulator.
Field "Name" isn't connected to a macro.
Field "E-Mail" is set to event "When losing focus". The message appears when
receiving focus.
Field "Web" is set to event "When receiving focus". The message appears when
receiving focus.

Seems "When losing focus" is connected to "When receivig focus" anywhere in the
code. Event "When losing focus" doesn't happen.

Detected with LO 7.1.4.2 on OpenSUSE 15.2 64bit rpm Linux.
This bug doesn't appear with LO 7.0.5.2 on the same machine. But careful with
the test here. Blocks all because "losing focus" will happen when the
messagebox appears!
So this is a regression.

Description:
LibreOffice Writer – Enhancement: Show font names used first
Show all font names used in the document at the top of the [Font Name
List] above a separator line and all the {other} fonts not already
used in the document below the separator line.
This will allow using a variety of fonts in a document without having to keep
scrolling thru the list of fonts.
It appears that Arial seems to be a default font and I usually try to use
[Liberation Sans] and [Liberation Serif] and some [Script Font], [Courier New],
or [Times New Roman] but usually I end up scrolling up~and~down the font list
looking for them.

Thanks, Tracey
This can make creatively font-a-fying a document much easier :-)

Pasting {only}comments should only add comments (if no comments are already

there (but not change anything else in the cell – data, format, etc.).

Thanks, Tracey
I not remember having a need to copy {only}comments to an empty cell.
