If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. I can reproduce the vertical text displacement (by the way, they are technically not Kanjis -- which means Chinese/Han characters -- but Hiraganas and Katakanas) with the attached sample file and 7.1.4, but do not reproduce with 7.2.0 Beta1. So this is likely already fixed by the efforts of improving vertical text display for Skia in the 7.2 development. Reporter jeandrof, please test with either of the following two approaches to see if the problem is solved for you: 1. Disable Skia, by going to the View Options dialog (Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View), and uncheck the "Use Skia for all rendering" checkbox, then restart LibreOffice. 2. Download and install the 7.2.0 Beta1 version (it is a development build and will install in a different place than your regular LibreOffice, so they can co-exist and won't interfere with each other). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143013] Separate italic from oblique font family variants
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143013 --- Comment #3 from Mike Kaganski --- I disagree. As described on the cited Wikipedia page: > Oblique and italic type are technical terms to distinguish between the two > ways of creating slanted font styles > ... > Few typefaces have both oblique and italic designs, as this is generally a > fundamental design choice about how the font should look. A font designer > normally decides to design their font with one or the other. The two - italic vs oblique - are just internal technical method of creating a slanted variant of the font, which will be the only one for a given font. The "Few typefaces have both oblique and italic designs" is something esoteric, and it would be interesting to find real samples; but even if they are found, their existence does not justify increased complexity of UI for some crazy font design case. The "italic" term is well-established to not only relate to the strict technical method, but also to more generic meaning of slanted font variant - and LibreOffice uses this well-established, widely-accepted meaning - and let it be this way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Open the exported file in Word. Word cannot read it. Reason is a duplicate element. Some investigation: DMLPresetShapeExporter::WriteShapeWithAVlist() calls WriteShapeTransformation which writes the first element. Then it calls GetAdjustmentPointXValue(0) DMLPresetShapeExporter::GetAdjustmentPointXValue() calls GetHandleValueOfModificationPoint(nPoint, u"RangeXMinimum") That has a loop over all Name/Value pairs. In case of "bracePair" the loop will find nothing, because they do not have "RangeXMinimum" but "RangeYMinimum". Thus the return value is empty. Back in GetHandleValueOfModificationPoint it makes a .get() on the empty return value, which gives a runtime error. That is caught in WriteShapeWithAVlist and makes it return 'false'. With this 'false' the part after shapes.cxx#848 is entered. And that will write in #873 the element again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 139796] Make Insert Special Character a Modeless Window
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139796 Dave changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|DUPLICATE |--- Status|RESOLVED|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #7 from Dave --- Hi, I would like to revisit this and explain how it is not a duplicate of BUG 120753. What I am suggesting is not more special characters in the favorites list. I am asking for an enhancement that allows the Insert Special Character window to stay open while moving through the document. This is how Insert Cross-Reference window works. I will explain why I think the Insert Special Character window would be better if it behaved like the Insert Cross Reference window by using an example of my workflow. I often write technical documents on the subject of electronics. As such, I am often writing things like, "As shown in Figure X, ..." and also typing symbols (like Omega for Ohms.) When I write, I prefer to not interrupt the flow of my thought process by inserting these things as they come up. So no writing "Figure" and then accessing the cross-reference menu. I literally type "Figure X" and go back later to insert all the cross references at once. I do the same for resistor values. I type "100k" and then return to insert the Omega later. This allows me to not interrupt my train of thought by switching tasks to insert these items. With cross references, I can open the Insert Cross Reference window once, scroll through the document looking for "Figure X" and replace the "X" with a cross reference. The fact that the Insert Cross Reference window is non-modal lets me do this. With Insert Special Character, I have to navigate to where I want the character. USe the menu to open the Insert Special Characters window. Insert the special character. Then... and this is the source of my frustration and the reason I'm asking for the enhancement... I have to close the window in order to navigate to the next place I want to insert a special character. (The next resistor value.) I then have to access the Insert Special Character menu again to insert another Omega. With multiple special characters in one document, this results in a lot of what I consider wasted effort of clicking menus. If the Insert Special Character window would stay open while letting me navigate the document, it would save a great deal of time. I can't think of any downside to this modeless window behavior as this is exactly the way the Insert Cross Reference window behaves. Please let me know if more details are needed. I have a booklet fully written in LO Writer in odt format. The page size is non-standard, 142x102mm, set accordingly in the page layout -> page size. What I want is to print the booklet as a Brochure, using the option from the print dialog box, at actual size on A4 paper. I mean NO scaling. Just 2 pages side by size according to brochure rules. If I select paper size A4 and Brochure, the orientation is now grayed-out (I cannot select orientation) and the pages appear cropped in the preview. If I print the pages they are printed cropped, like in the preview. See the images attached. What I expect is to be able to select my orentation, and thus the Brochure pages to be centered on the A4 page. Not scaled, not moved, just in the center at the page size of 142x102mm each. Sometimes it gets worse when changing the print options from pages per sheet to brochure and vice-versa. The behaviour on the real-print and also the preview is acting randomly if the paper size is changed. Steps to Reproduce: 1.create a table with 3 columns and at least 3 rows. 2.write headers in the cells of the first row. 3.select the vertical writing for asian police for the cells in the second row. 4.on the second row, in the central cell, write a kanji. 5.choose to display the kanji in the middle of its cell. Could you please check this? > => NEEDINFO The bug you linked is pretty similar to what I've reported. In fact, my current problem would be solved if hyperlinks could be added in the dialog, as described in the linked article, e.g. for tables of contents. However, one thing would still not be possible: If I wanted to manually link the index entry NOT to the page, but to another target (e.g. a website). I can do that by allowing manual editing of the index and inserting the desired links using the "normal" hyperlink function. But as soon as I update the index using the "Update index" function, the manually inserted links are gone. Expected Results: Pasting {only}comments should only add comments (if no comments are already there) and prompt for overwrite (if and only if) there are comments already there (but not change anything else in the cell – data, format, etc.).
