Because sometimes reports are duplicates without anyone noticing and the bugs
can get fixed while the duplicate reports stay open. In organised re-testing
runs, this was found to be true with about 25% of the reports each year.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51651] INSTALLATION: MSI issues

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51651

Dear Olivier Hallot,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143304] New: Much Difficulty in Naming a file when saving

2021-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143304

Bug ID: 143304
Summary: Much Difficulty in Naming a file when saving
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tangogolfsie...@gmail.com

Description:
macOS Catalina 10.15.7, MacBook Pro 13, Intel, LibreOffice 7.1.4.2
a529a4fab45b75fefc5b6226684193eb000654f6.
When selecting File/Save or Save AS either from menu or icon on toolbar,
several things different than the Windows edition. 1. the entire filename and
extension are highlighted (selected), so that you cannot simply start typing
the new file which of course, erases the "Untitled.odt (or .ods, etc). 2.
Cannot paste over the "Untitled" with any file name. I end up saving the file
as anything like, "H.odt", and then renaming. This method leaves the file out
of the recent files list, since you have to rename it. Cannot paste into the
saving filename dialog by keyboard or clicking the edit menu. Happens in ALL
LibreOffice Components (Base, Calc, Draw, Impress Writer.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.File/Save (or Save AS)
2.Try to paste in the filename you wish
3.

Actual Results:
See above

Expected Results:
This field should be editable, and that includes being able to paste in a
filename.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
[Information automatically included from LibreOffice]
Locale: en-US
Module: TextDocument
[Information guessed from browser]
OS: Mac OS X (All)
OS is 64bit: yes

Seems to be a known problem of Ubuntu 20.04 based system, which never
completely removed LibreOffice. Please perform the following procedure:

1. dpkg --list | awk '/ii/&&/libreoffice/{print $2}' | sudo xargs apt purge -y

2. sudo apt autoremove
3. sudo apt install libreoffice

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143291] Selecting the None slide transition has no effect

2021-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143291

Detailed step by step process to reproduce this:
- Launch Impress
- click F11 to make the sidebar appear if it's not present
- click the seventh icon "Slide Transition"
=> Slide Transition appears with "None", "Wipe", "Wheel", etc. (each row
contains 3 icons) 12 rows with 3 icons each
- click "Wipe" icon
=> a preview of Wipe appears and at left, the thumbnail of the slide has a
small icon to indicated the slide has now a transition
- click "None"
=> the small icon doesn't disappear (and the transition isn't removed).

I don't reproduce this with LO 7.0.4.2 Debian package.

This allows to add the "No selection" image.
446 // dummy list box of slide transitions for startup.
447 mxVS_TRANSITION_ICONS->InsertItem(
448 0, Image( StockImage::Yes, "sd/cmd/transition-none.png" ),
449 SdResId( STR_SLIDETRANSITION_NONE ),
450 VALUESET_APPEND, /* show legend */ true );
451 mxVS_TRANSITION_ICONS->Recalculate();

The corresponding attributes in ODF are style:rel-height and style:rel-width.

LibreOffice has it implemented for a Frame. That has a UI to set it. It is
written to file as direct attribute of the element.

LibreOffice can interpret these attributes for some kind of shapes as
attributes of the element of a style. It works for a
TextBox. That is a element and from point of view of ODF not
different to a Frame. It works too for legacy rectangle and oval and for
polygons, but the shapes will be a little bit too large. LibreOffice has no UI
to set it in these cases, but the attributes are available via API.

LibreOffice cannot interpret these attributes for custom shapes. Therefore it
fails with the example document.

So a short-term solution could be, to import a shape as Frame in Writer, if it
has a rectangular geometry, no shape rotation, no text rotation, and no special
effects like shadow or glow.
And long-term solution would be to implement these attributes for custom shapes
too, correct the size, and bring the attributes to UI.

A workaround could be to recalculate the shape size on import depending on the
actual page size.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143302] New: Detect switches between dark and light GTK themes and automatically switch to the corresponding icon set when available

2021-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143302

Bug ID: 143302
Summary: Detect switches between dark and light GTK themes and
automatically switch to the corresponding icon set
when available
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: nekoh...@gmail.com

LibreOffice already has dark variants for two of its icon themes (Sifr and
Breeze). I wish more of its icon themes (particularly Colibre and Sukapura) had
dark variants, but this is not the issue today.

What I'm reporting today is that when the GTK theme changes, LibreOffice should
detect if it's the normal version of a theme or if it's a dark variant, and
then, if it has a compatible icon theme (that has a light and dark variant),
switch the icon theme accordingly, automatically. Otherwise, things typically
are unrecognizeable in dark mode.

This is particularly noticeable when you have systems where the OS (or a
script, or an extension such as
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/2236/night-theme-switcher/). For what
it's worth, Firefox does it and handles it beautifully, without needing user
intervention or an app restart, when its theme is set to "system"; so it's
possible, theoretically & technically speaking.

If I use the wizard to connect to a file:
1 Open Base

I have become convinced that Libre Office does not make ligatures. That implies
that I was chasing ghosts and, as I said in the last sentence of comment #3, my
complaint is unwarranted. I deem it resolved.

Really the same with "found 13.0, support 12.0"?

So connection is working with FB3, isn't it?
I have thought the first path would be the right, but I have no Windows to
test. So we should have a look at the connection-string for Windows.

Yes, that's right, I was using a Firebir 4, but the error is the same if I use
your sample database.

On the other hand, I think I found the error:
If I use the wizard to connect, and I browse to find the file, I obtain a full
path like "file:///C:/Users/jc/BD/employee_FB3.fdb", that produce the error.
But if I delete one slash after "file:" so the path is
"file://C:/Users/jc/BD/employee_FB3.fdb", I can connect

Filter should not be active because its submenu has no active item. Then,

To print the cell grid you need to format the page for the sheet.

Format -> Page on the 'Sheet' tab in the Print section: the 'Grid' checkbox.

Answered many time in Ask, e.g.

2021-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142487

So basically, the minimal reproducer is:

Sub ReplaceGermanQuotes
Dim s$
s = "Replace something after the 'ß': x y"
s = Replace(s, "x", "y")
MsgBox s
End Sub

Indeed, 'ß' is uppercased to a two-character 'SS'.
The correct way is shown in TextSearch::searchForward in
i18npool/source/search/textsearch.cxx. It creates an array of matches from
original character positions to the transliterated character positions.

Possibly we could reuse utl::TextSearch::SearchForward from
unotools/source/i18n/textsearch.cxx?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143298] New: Writer: CTRL-TAB to cycle through suggestions for word completion does not work

2021-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143298

Bug ID: 143298
Summary: Writer: CTRL-TAB to cycle through suggestions for word
completion does not work
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: a...@mellomrommet.no

Description:
Ediiting, Formatting: When editing text I am used to hitting CTRL-TAB to cycle
through suggestions for word completions. This behaviour is described in the
help documents of LibreOffice and works as expected in Calc: when editing text
in cells, CTRL-TAB does cycle alternatives.

However, Writer acts as if I only hit TAB: a tab stop is inserted. Other
shortcuts involving the CTRL key works as expected: CTRL-O to open files,
CTRL-S / CTRL-SHIFT-S to save, CTRL-Z to undo, etc.

I had the same problem with a LibreOffice install from the Ubuntu repositories.
I then asked a question at ask.libreoffice.org and was encouraged to try the
newer version from LibreOffice's PPA. The problem persists.

I tried

My system is (K)Ubuntu Studio 20.04 with LibreOffice Version: 7.1.4.2

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Tools > Autocorrect > Autocorrect options > Word completion > Enable word
completion
2. Type the start of a long word in the list. The first option to complete
shows as a tooltip.
3. Hit CTRL-TAB to cycle to next option.

Actual Results:
Instead of cycling to the next option, a tab stop is inserted.

Expected Results:
Cycling to next option in word completion list.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
CTRL-TAB works as expected in other programs like Firefox or Thunderbird, and
even even in Calc.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143297] New: Saving Calc spreadsheet with many database queries injects spurious rows [FILESAVE, FORMATTING]

2021-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143297

Bug ID: 143297
Summary: Saving Calc spreadsheet with many database queries
injects spurious rows [FILESAVE,FORMATTING]
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: spu...@yahoo.com

Description:
We use LO 7.0 for a reservation tracking database application using an external
HSQLDB server. One of our reports uses Calc template to generate a daily
report showing reservations for each hour of business day (7AM - 5PM). Bug is
that on saving the file as either template or regular format results in a large
block of spurious blank rows injected between the 4PM and 5PM time blocks.

Attached is an sample file in post-error state.

Issue seen in LO 7.0.6.2 & 7.1.4.2 (x64)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load sample file into Calc
2. Do not run database queries when prompted
3. Scroll down to the 4PM block, notice blank rows between 4PM & 5PM
4. Delete all visible blank rows
5. Save file
6. Reopen file
7. Scroll down to 4PM block, see if blank rows again present

Actual Results:
Blank rows injected

Expected Results:
No blank rows to be added to file

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

You are using the example, which comes with Firebird 4. This will give the same
error here on OpenSUSE 15.2. But the bug is reported for Firebird 3 (and also
the employee.fdb of Firebird 3)

However, the error lies in this fix.

Sry Mike for the noise, but could this be some kind of Unicode problem? Since
the aExpStr and the aSrcStr have the same length at the beginning. After the
toUpper-replacement they differ, hence this error.

Is there a way to ensure they have the same length and characters even after
the toUpper?

Just a code pointer to those who are interested in:
When I open a PDF document from the start centre, the pickup of the
"draw_pdf_import" filter seems to be determined by:
PDFDetector::detect
in sdext/source/pdfimport/filterdet.cxx

You can observe this by setting a breakpoint when you are running LibreOffice
using "make debugrun"
break sdext/source/pdfimport/filterdet.cxx:194

However, it is very strange that, when I manually choose "PDF - Portable
Document Format (Writer)" from the file format list dropdown in the file open
dialog, this code is never hit.

The reported bug was checked following the 6 steps reported on 2015-09-25 and
was found to still exist in:

Regards
Tom

BTW: I wonder, why do I get review requests, when after 7 years it is obvious,
that no developer is interested to fix this bug? As far as I am concerned, I
have permanently disabled the option "Expand formatting" to workaround this
persistent bug.

Hmm.. so some used a media file object icon (from 6.0) branch to create
presentation.. And the icon changed in 6.1? I don't see image inside, so could
be possible. Or it's kind of shape of course.

I only noticing this being 'out of design'. But surely not clue what happened
at 6.1..

So maybe I should do a bibisect simply out of curiosity

Bug is still the same in LO 7.1.5.1 on OpenSUSE 15.2 64bit rpm Linux.

EXTRACT will work well with
YEAR, MONTH, DAY, HOUR, MINUTE, SECOND,
because HSQLDB will work with this strings.

EXTRACT won't work in GUI with
WEEK, WEEKDAY, YEARDAY, MILLISECOND
because only Firebird will work with this strings.
