I followed the steps using Firestbird template and it did not happen. When following step 3, the two size s were set to a value of 0.28 mm and the two ends of the arrow appeared the same on-screen. Followed same with the Focus template and the bug happened (same by choosing no template). Drawing a left-to-right arrow, the Edit Style let me choose the left-end marker, both appeaed to be at 0.2 mm (their default value in this template), but after pressing ok it is clear the the left and right markers have different sizes. Using right-click/Line properties on the arrow then shows that the right marker is 0.3 mm in size, which is different from what appeared to have been set in the first step. Also, the "Synchronise ends" check box is misleading. When ticking it, it does not synchronise the ends. It does nothing by itself. If pressing ok and then editing line properties again, it does not even stay ticked. What it does, is if it is ticked AND THEN the user changes some property, then both are changed the same way. In formu2.odt, double-click the formula; in the edit window, put the cursor at
the end of the 1st line, and hit delete; ‘bcd’ moves to 1st line —OK — but also
stays on the 2nd line —bug! Another action, such as hitting {Right}, is needed
to clear the 2nd line.

Exporting to a calc spreadsheet, copying the field headings out to the right, using the LEN and Max functions and then updating the odb master file using 7.1 [upload file format length importing into 7.2] appears to solve the problem. The error I posted showed the master file specified 30 but base 7.2 found a string length of 35. I found 10 specified and a 12 maximum field length and 20 specified and a 28 maximum. Each text field has to be corrected. I know that I was lazy in that I used the auto feature for 10/100/1000 rows with an upload of 31,000 rows. In 7.0 and 7.1 that was not a problem, a file upload with with string lengths in excess of the specified amount would upload/open and it does not appear to have truncated the data. In all the previous versions, I only ever came across one other missing Help page, but the page that popped up in its place clearly indicated that there was no Help available for that particular page--unlike the one I mentioned in this bug report where it instead came up with an error message. @Roman: But facts cannot be changed by just stating them differently. The input
"log(x)^2" is currently (and correctly in my perception) displayed as "log(x)²"
by LibreOffice, and not as "log(x²)" like you wrongly claimed in your last
comment. (And any math program like matlab or excel, or even any pocket
calculator will give you the result for {log(x)}^2 as well for this input.) So
the behavior of LO really is as inconsistent as I described it in my original
post. Please stick to the truth, even though you have the power to decide
according to your own and different preferences.

this is a twofold request,
- for some improvements i'm going to propose i'd like to have better access to
the 'raw' IEEE / c-library calculation functions,
- for the same purpose i need to learn how to throw patches into git.
to check if a calculation scheme for e.g. rounding or 'kahaning' works well
it's much faster to test it in a worksheet than by coding - compiling -
testing.
but multiple operations in Calc are 'prettyfied' with 'approx~' and/or
'snap-to-zero' and/or 'roundsig' functionalities which produce different
results than 'pure code', that often blocks meaningful evaluation.
for subtractions @erAck implemented 'rawsubtract' some time ago. that can be
used for additions too ('rawsubtract(a,-b)' instead of 'a+b') but it's somewhat
error prone to work with additional negations.
thus i'd like to implement a function 'rawsum' or similar which works without
prettyfying. i have a draft ready (cloned from rawsubtract), but would need
advice if it's 'all correct', and e.g. if and how rawsum might be defined for
a: a single operand,
b: arrays as input.
there won't be many cases where rawsum differs from '+', but having a more
meaningful result than '0' for
'=2.002 + -2.001' would be some help.
Steps to Reproduce:

test e.g. '=2.002 + -2.001' -> '0' which is violating
IEEE 16 digit accuracy ...
or check '=8.02 + -8', there the digits stay visible,
