Bug ID: 146113
Summary: Basic's IsNull documentation must mention that it also
returns True for object variables that don't refer to
an object (not initialized or set to Nothing) - at
least in non-VBA mode
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com
CC: olivier.hal...@libreoffice.org

IsNull in LibreOffice Basic, unlike VBA, returns True when an object variable
is passed that doesn't refer to a valid object (e.g., just created not yet
assigned object, or assigned to Nothing literal). This is a conscious design
decision (see tdf#146112), and is widely used [1]. This should be mentioned in
the help. (And when bug 146112 is fixed, the VBA mode difference also needs to
be reflected in help.)

Summary: IsNull must return False when testing object variables
(including non-initialized/assigned to Nothing) in
VBASupport 1 mode
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

SbRtl_IsNull [1] is explicitly designed to return True when passed an empty
object value. (This is since the initial import commit, so was always the
same.)

  Dim o As Object
  MsgBox IsNull(o) ' shows "True"

However, this is inconsistent with VBA, where the same code gives False.
So the function must consider VBASupport, and exclude the object variable test
when VBA support is enabled.

1. The picture border in word document disappears after using libreoffice

2. The text of the picture in the word document is deformed and crowded
together

3. The document has 5 pages in the win10 system, but after the conversion, it

Dear Yan Pas,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Dear Emil Tanev,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146111] New: libre calc crashed when working with cell borders and click user defined box

2021-12-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146111

Bug ID: 146111
Summary: libre calc crashed when working with cell borders and
click user defined box
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jimmaja...@yahoo.com

Description:
I had set cell borders for one row too many in my document and went into the
menu again to reset them. I didn't see an immediate option for removing and
setting the borders like excell has to give a side/bottom border change so I
clicked on the user defined borders option box in the middle of the window and
it crashed the program.

Steps to Reproduce:
First, my program version is 7.2.4 which is not in your window above^
Second, I went back and tried it again with the same crash result.

1.set a group of cells to full borders around each cell.
2.go back into format cells with bordered cells still selected and click any
cell line in the "user defined" cell borders image.
3.watch it crash

Actual Results:
Program crashes. everything else running on computer is fine, but the libre
calc file just disappears and when you go to reopen it from it's folder you
have to recover it.

Expected Results:
wanted to be able to set borders manually using the user selection tool.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I was not sure what to put in the hardware box above, I am not a computer
genius. I am using a ROG gaming laptop and in the device manager settings tab I
found something labelled processors and it said: AMD RYZEN 7 3750H with Radeon
Vega Mobile GFX. I don't know if that is what hardware box above was looking
for but maybe that helps.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 145622] Recording a Macro in Calc, not generating the proper code

2021-12-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145622

I would like to make a comment about this Bug I have reported. This is a
SERIOUS problem. Why? Because I designed a complete application for my local 8
ball league in Calc about 3-4 years ago, it worked fine. And this year when the
League started up again there was a number of changes due to the League being
shutdown for 2 years for COVID.

This resulted in me having to adjust and RECREATE some of the macros and that's
when I discovered the BUG. Luckily I didn't re-record all the MACROS. If I had
this would have resulted in NOT being able to track stats, etc. for the League.
It is too big a job to sort figures by hand with over a 100 players. And of
course you guys being bogged down with so many reported bugs, that the response
time is far too long for this type of issue.

I would like this to be reported to the people WHO NEED TO KNOW. Thank you and
I do appreciate the work you guys do. Ron G
PS I downloaded version 7.1.8.1 and the problem still exists.

Device ID
Product ID 00326-1-0-AA422
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I saw the report about a security update to Libre Office and was urged to
update to 7.1.8.1. I had been on version 6.3.5.2 with no problems. Calc in
version 7.1.8.1 was VERY slow. Just clicking on another cell took 3 to 4
seconds before the new cell was activated. I uninstalled 7.1.8.1 and
re-installed 6.3.5.2. The Ask LibreOffice forum suggested I change my
%APPDATA%...\user to user_old and start 6.3.5.2 so a new user profile would be
created. I did that. I reinstalled 7.1.8.1 again, but I had the same problem. I
turned off Skia and anti-aliasing, but nothing changed. I also re-started in
Safe mode, but the response was still very slow. One of our other users tested
a spreadsheet on his Windows 10, and he had the same very slow response.

"explicitly specified" how? There's just a hyperlink anchor target name that
happens to look like a reference in the R1C1 notation, which we want to support
regardless what the current actual reference syntax is.

Something similar would happen if you named a sheet A1 and wanted to jump
there.

However, a plain C isn't a valid reference for the entire column 0, as if it
was written C0, at least that is what's getting selected for the example. Au
contraire, a plain C would indicate "this same column" in conjunction with a Ry
row number.

That seems to be the underlying bug in *this* case.

I'll investigate.

@Non-French speakers/readers: to summarize, LO upgrade from 7.2.3 to 7.2.4
doesn't work, it complains it can uninstall 7.2.3. I just proposed to uninstall
7.2.3 first then install 7.2.4 as a workaround.

Next step is to get a proposal for a to be changed UI. (Perhaps together with a
proposal for a UI for the new feature to allow texts other than dot between the
levels of a numbered list.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146106] New: Loading graphic with XGraphicProvider::queryGraphic from https: CRL validation does not use proxy setting

2021-12-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146106

Bug ID: 146106
   Summary: Loading graphic with XGraphicProvider::queryGraphic
from https: CRL validation does not use proxy setting
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pierre.sau...@stwm.de

Description:
When loading an image from a https URL, the CRL check tries to connect to
crl.root-x1.letsencrypt.org.edgekey.net directly instead of going through the
configured proxy, resulting in a timeout.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Be behind a http proxy and configure it in Libreoffice
2. Load an image from a https URL with XGraphicProvider::queryGraphic

Actual Results:
CRL check of the https certificate is tried directly resulting in a timeout

Expected Results:
CRL should be loaded via the http proxy

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The CRL check seems to have been introduced sometime around 7.0. We recently
upgraded from 6.4.7-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 to 7.1.7-0ubuntu0.21.04.1~bpo20.04.1 when
that version landed in Ubuntu 20.04 backports. Before that it was working as
expected. Also changing the URL to http resolves the issue in 7.1.7

I agree, it's really strange, because I tried it on my home PC with very old
Intel Core 2 Quad 9450 right now and I really got only 2-3 sec result.

I'll retest tomorrow on my work notebook

I cannot reproduce the problem in Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice
Community
Build ID: 4ac9032163cf55c160145373e7c41741c9c339ca
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL
In that version the default space is large enough for "VIII."

Please try with a newer Version of LibreOffice. You should update anyway
because of a security fix.

Thank you for your feedback.
Here's the patch for making searching by value by default:
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/126490
If we searching by value by default now, "Find Text" is less clumsy.

Eike: as you may have seen, I put you in cc since you might have opinion here
as Calc expert.
