Plase make also sure, that you're using the actual version of LO (7.2.4),
because it seems, you're using an old version.

Thank you for your enhancement request. Not sure, if the following steps are
correct:

1. Open a document with some text.
2. Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice -> Application Colours: Select LibreOffice
Dark as scheme => dark background of document and text in white (automatic)
3. File -> Print Preview

Actual result
Dark background of document and text in white (automatic)

Desired result
Print Preview should show colours of the printed document (like in print
dialog) or (at least) provide a button to change to default scheme.

Eustace, do this steps descibe your idea? If not, please specify the steps.

They’re only more space-efficient because the Adwaita title bars are huge, lol.
The Ambiance theme was very space-efficient and had excellent density, despite

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146201] New: Improper formatting of "frac" in Formula object ignores brackets

2021-12-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146201

Bug ID: 146201
Summary: Improper formatting of "frac" in Formula object
ignores brackets
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Formula Editor
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jay.b.h...@gmail.com

The bug can be reproduced by using this code in a formula object of
LibreWriter:

 frac {N} {D} +X

The expected behavior can be demonstrated using the over function:
 {N} over {D} +X

Instead, the above bug places the X inside the denominator even though the "+X"
is outside of the second set of brackets {}. Use of the function "frac" should
have the same behavior as when using the function "over".

Dear Gülşah Köse,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122884] Performance: GTK3 VCL Slow Using NX Xserver

2021-12-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122884

Dear Dave Richards,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Leela, your attachments have contact information for several real people. I
suggest you replace the information with made-up text, or just dummy text like
"123", "ABC", aliph-ba-ta-tha etc.

Also, in your reproduction instructions, you say you've created an "Arabic
Document (LTR)". Are you sure your original document was in Left-to-Right
direction, despite using the Arabic language?

You also write that when opening the document, "the alignment is perfect with
LTR" - but when I open your document with LO (7.3), the page style is RTL and
the paragraphs are all RTL.

I also see little use in a Writer table for deleting a cell. Simply select and
delete the contents. Writer tables are best served with deletion limited to
rows, cols or whole table without complexity of handling what would need to
happen if a cell were actually deleted.

OK confirmed. Much like bug 131023 the preinstalled themes for personalization
have limits to which the graphics can be expanded for area fill the UI.

UI controls function correctly, this is just a visual glitch in the area fill
for the theme graphics.

Work on bug 125217 may eventually refactor.

Confirmed, but it is panel specific.

The Application Colors panel does not parse keyboard movements, but others like
Writer -> Compatibility, or Base -> Connections do.

However, since all the panels respond to scrollbar mouse actions --i.e. click
on the up/down button, or click-drag of the panel thumb-- some inconsistency in
keyboard navigation is pretty minor here.

I think I found the problem. This depends on the themes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a Writer document.
2. Dock three toolbars at the bottom.
3. Open Tools - Option... - LibreOffice - Personalisation
4. Select one of the six themes
5. Click Apply --> The UI breaks.

Select Default look and apply --> The UI looks fine.

The ODF standard has the element as child element of a form
control. This is intended to carry implementation-dependent properties:

In addition to the attributes defined in this standard, controls may have
implementation-dependent attributes. Those attributes are stored in a
 element in each control.

from section 13.5.1 General in part 3, ODF 1.3.

Therefore I suggest, that instead of the invalid attribute form:input-required
such element is used.

@Michael, do you agree? And if yes, how should a transition be done?

I don't see this as an argument against having an easy-to-interpret version
number in the About dialog. Yes, it is accurate information, at the same time
it's not obvious, while Windows 11 is, most people who look at the bug reports
won't know that Windows 10 build 22000 stands for Windows 11 just by looking at
it.

KDE on top, Calc settings bottom

On KDE you can set different locale settings for numbers / time etc. Calc
ignores this setting and instead uses the "main" locale setting. In South
Africa the "official" decimal separator is "," but the other South African
settings use ".". Calc uses the English SA locale instead of the one setup in
KDE Settings

As you can see I have setup KDE to use "." for numbers but Calc still thinks it
should be ","

I think this one is related to (or even a DUP of?) "Bug 102184 - Navigator:

one is related to "Cursor/Caret in Comment", but jumping from comment to

With all due respect, that's a hack, not a designed solution. It nukes the
titlebar (hence document title) for all non-CSD applications (not just
LibreOffice) and I've seen it break the behavior/workflow of such apps. And it
can be buggy on its own, too (from my previous experience; even now I can see
it is reportedly broken, unsurprisingly*)

Whatsmore, believe it or not, there are multiple other desktop environments
outside of GNOME that benefit from client-side decorations and wish to have
apps that use them, so you can't just say "oh, just use a GNOME Shell
extension".

In UI/toolbar layouts where no menubar is used, client-side decorations are an
overall better design, especially on laptop screens. They're just measurably
more space-efficient, no matter how you look at them.

If it were just me, in a theoretical world, I would not make it an option and
would just say, "This is how it is, *one* code path that's 100% tested &
maintained", but I know this is not how it works here, and that y'all have to
deal with the nightmare of 7 different UI layouts ;) with that said, Christian
is dedicated enough to accept the complexity of making it optional instead of a
single code path for the notebookbars... so at this point, let's please not be
"stop energy" discouraging new contributors like him from trying to solve a
design problem the right way (in the app, rather than the window manager). I'm
very grateful for someone finally attempting an implementation for this, so
thank you Christian.

*: GNOME Shell "extensions" break all the time since there is no API
("extensions" are just duck-taping hacks live on top of a moving foundation.
