It's blurry in macOS by definition. Increasing screen DPI to say 135 on Linux
also makes it noticeable.

Dear Hannes Schmidt,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Thanks BogdanB. Glad you think it might be useful.

I'm wondering if the toolbar and the sidebar could point to the exact same UI
element to create the dropdown list? That would make the codebase more
consistent and maintainable. Or de they have to be fundamentally different
kinds of UI elements?

2022-01-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145080

@Heiko: how is this bug here a duplicate of #143733, which is about making the
border wider for better visibility, while this bug here is about using colors
that provide good contrast?

Both bugs are about the current border lacking visibility however the solutions
differ and are certainly not a duplicate of each other.

And re: deviating from system colors - it certainly makes sense to not deviate.
But I fail to understand how the current very light blue used in LibreOffice
should be or match the macOS blue system accent color. Attaching a screenshot
of the system color selection and the blue shown there is completely unrelated
to the blue used in LibreOffice. The macOS accent colors would solve the
contrast issue with the current color choices from LibreOffice. Where is
LibreOffice getting the color values from?

Could you link the push back you are referring to?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146522] New: UI: Base Form Window Is Partly Hidden Behind Windows Taskbar

2022-01-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146522

Bug ID: 146522
Summary: UI: Base Form Window Is Partly Hidden Behind Windows
Taskbar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.4.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: domenicj...@gmail.com

Description:
When opening a database form in LibreOffice Base, the window is too large and
gets party occluded by the Windows task bar / start-menu bar. Maximizing the
window will resize it correctly. However, if the window gets closed while still
being maximized, it will be too large again wheen the form gets opened the next
time.

Tested with LibreOffice 7.2.4 x64 and Windows 10 on two different computers.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a form
2. Go to the main form overview
3. (Optionally) Open the form, maximize and then close it
3. Open the form (again)

Actual Results:
The form opens in window mode. The lower part of the window is hidden behind
the windows task bar.

Expected Results:
The form opens in window mode. The lower part of the window is NOT hidden
behind the windows task bar.

Reproducible: Always

Thank you for your help. So the workaround is to create news cells pointing to
the desired cells of the array, and then it is possible to copy the values from
these new cells.

This works, but why would one want to forbid copying directly from the array
cells? This behavior is one exampe of multiple behaviors that make LibreOffice
unintuitive and inconvenient to use.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146520] New: Strange behavior of LibreOffice Writer (Intel) on MacBook Air M1 chip

2022-01-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146520

Bug ID: 146520
Summary: Strange behavior of LibreOffice Writer (Intel) on
MacBook Air M1 chip
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.4.1 release
  Hardware: ARM
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: david.s...@agingsafely.com

Description:
I have been working on my 2020 Macbook Air M1 for about 9 months. I use
LibreOffice writer a lot. I NEVER use direct formatting, except for bold and
italics. Yet I find chunks of text with direct formatting (font size, typeface,
etc). I fix these via (remove direct formatting, default character style)
throughout the document. This happens over and over.

My book technical template uses 8 page styles of 6x9" size. I wanted to make a
report template with different page sizes and margins. When I adjust a page
size, multiple page styles would change. When I set a page sto a specific
style. multiple pages would change.

I booted up my old Intel 2012 Macbook Pro and tried the above with the same
version of LibreOffice Writer and all worked well! So these problems appear to
only show up on Apple Silicon.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Take the attached file, Change page size on pages to 8.5x11" and margins to
1".
2. Apply Body Recto style to a FM Recto page
3. See what pages change page-style. There will be more than one.

Actual Results:
Multiple pages change page-style.

Expected Results:
Only one page should change

Does this maybe qualify as an easy hack. The problem occurs when configuring

tdf#100164 change scaling unit to precentage for *.5x factors
Currently we support DPI scaling by a integer factor. This commit
changes that to percentage so we can have scaling factors like
1.5x or 1.25x. This is useful with 2.7k monitors that are in
between standard DPI and HiDPI. Thresholding was adjusted to scale
to 1.5x when DPI is between 120 and 168 DPI.

The old method GetDPIScaleFactor has been changed to return a
float value insted of int. Sometimes it is however more accurate
to use GetDPIScalePercentage which was added in this commit.

I'm not sure how much sense it makes to show the Linux kernel version. Maybe
just as a fallback, if "lsb_release -d" has no result? Not sure how common the
lsb tools are installed. I doubt LO depends at all somehow on the Linux kernel
version.

On the same machine MS Office context menus appear instantaneously.

Worth noting is that I have customized context menus in Tools -- Customize --
Context menus. I don't know if it could have an effect. I will test this with
another machine as soon I find time.

This bloatware can't copy part of an array, it was so from ever.
You can solve it easily by creating a reference in other cell to that cell.

Situation definitely improved for attachment 120238 in:

Are we keeping this opened for potential future improvements? Probably a good
idea, especially if MSO can do it in 10 seconds, as per comment 23.
