Dear Regina Henschel,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

So, pop-open the standard menu and use from ther--done with the first button on
the Tabbed NB

MUFFIN NB is not required to hold all widgets of the Standard Menu & TB UI,
lower frequency commands are simply not available.

But, the .uno:Reload command might be a valid addition to the NB, probably
disabled by default and available to Customize visible.

Sounds like a recipe for ODF file corruption. Clean close when the last
document has been closed, before that prompt to save or close w/o save any open
documents.

Reopening previous document(s) from previous launch is of questionable utility.

In the screencast slightly different variant. Where kerning of certain glyphs

FWIW, don't get me wrong.. results are impressive :-) and all the efforts

It does, as Dieter's comments are all related to paragraphs, eg.:

Dieter, the image isn't anchored to a paragraph, but to character, as Mike has
explained it. If you want to extend the description to include adjusting to To

Screencast

There is surely an improvement: No dancing glyphs within the word 'himself'

The whole word 'himself' does wiggle depending on zoom-level (like 90% 140% or
180%). There are stable situations; for me 100% 110%/160%) Sometimes the
formatting marks indicator wiggles (120%) with Liberation Serif, 12 pt

Calibri has more of the wiggling with formatting mark indicator (180% and 200%)
at 12 pt

The behaviour appears to depend on mixture of zoomlevel + fontsize or character
spacing an zoom-level.

I'm not really against something shifting when pressing Italic, but it's more
the seemingly irregular pattern.

But maybe I'm nitpicking.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133627] 6.4.4 and 7.2.5 produce docx that crashes Word 2019 but not Word 2016

2022-01-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133627

Very interesting. Working Example saved in MSO 2016 produced the same first
error: "Word found unreadable content in ''. Do you want to recover
the contents of this document?..." However, if I click "yes", the document is
shown, a little messed up, but functional. Whereas, the same document exported
by LO 7.2.5.2 cannot be converted, apparently, and MSO2019 suggests using the
software marketplace to find software to help, but never successfully opens the
document.

I also tried converting the MWE I provided to ODT with LO, closing it,
reopening it, and saving it as .docx. That docx version produced the same two
errors as the MWE, which was never saved as ODT. But, the .odt document, in
between, produced the same result in MSO2019 as the MSO2016 document you
posted. Meaning, MSO2019 generates the error: "unreadable content" when
opening the .odt version, but *is* successfully able to "recover" a usable
document.

I'm loosing track of where all this evidence leads. There is clearly a
disagreement between LO v6.4-v7.2 and MSO2019 about the correct .docx format
re: images or maybe floats, still not sure what is the core issue. In LO7.2,
this disagreement doesn't result in a crash of MSO2019, which is an
improvement, but it is still not interoperable.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81430] libreoffice-mysql-connector cannot create/edit tables without primary key

2022-01-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81430

Here are some infos about work done here.
There have been several patches:

1)
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=dcb7bd026cc1813eaee8b7dadba0583348b4458e

wasn't related to the bugtracker and was about removing system schemas from
tables pane:
goal: facilitate tests and do like MYSQL JDBC part

2)
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=8dd86eb5602bed539da5ffb584e09847dbde4d60
add first part of the skeleton of the whole mechanism

3)
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=bb29b12a9e367d181a5d9d962d466df41e093e0c
add second part of the skeleton of the whole mechanism

4)
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=628fedabdd27ad08e9a42f47106864751e493c2c
implement it + implement things manually which were done quite automatically.

Even if I tested some cases, it still needs some testing and may have brought
some regressions, so I won't backport them on 7.3 branch or below.
Of course, if there are too much regressions and that I can't fix them (at
least important ones), I'll revert these patches. To identify the commits
quickly, I used the prefix "Mysql/MariaDB" in the title of the description of
each.

Just for the record, I know that for database implementations there's the
general mechanism and the manual mechanism. I don't know what's feasible with
the general mechanism or when to choose one or the other. Perhaps a far more
simple and therefore elegant patch would have fixed this bugtracker by using
the general mechanism but since I know it too little, I used parts of Firebird
implementation (manual mechanism) which were working and adapted them.

Thanks Caolan for the patches.

With the new option "Layout & Match render" this bug seems now FIXED.

Adding a "." after "bouw" no longer changes spacing. Also enabling/disabling
the sidebar or changing its size does not affect char spacing.

I also tested other zoom factors and all was OK. Can someone else confirm this?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146768] New: Hyperlinks (mailto / external URLs) fail in exported PDFs

2022-01-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146768

Bug ID: 146768
Summary: Hyperlinks (mailto / external URLs) fail in exported
PDFs
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stevec...@gmail.com

Created attachment 177552
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=177552=edit
Original odt Writer Document to test hyperlink fail

I create a simple odt document in Writer (same problem also affects a 'docx'
format file), and insert a hyperlink behind some text in that document
(hyperlink can be a 'mailto' or it can be to an external website-page URL). The
hyperlink appears good in the Writer document. In PrintPreview, the hyperlink
looks good (shown in particular font colour/underlined), but cannot be clicked
to open the hyperlink.

The file is then exported to PDF. The PDF document shows the hyperlink (same
particular colour/underlined), but no hyperlink is active. Hovering cursor over
the hyperlinked text produces no 'hand' icon, and clicking on it does nothing.

Export settings:
General Tab: General section: no options ticked (although I have experimented
with various ones, but problem remains); Structure section: no options ticked.
Links Tab: General section: no options ticked; Cross document links section:
default mode selected.
Security tab: With password and without (although earlier, it *may* have been
only password-protected exports had the problem)

LibreOffice 7.2.5.2 (problem was occurring on at least two prior release
versions)
macOS Monterey 12.1 (problem was occurring on earlier MacOS versions)
PDF viewer: Apple 'Preview' or Adobe Acrobat Reader (same problem on each)

I opened a new LibreOffice document, and copied/pasted the odt document's
contents, then saved as docx format, then exported to PDF. The hyperlinks *were
not* active in that PDF document.

I opened a new 'Pages' text document, and copied/pasted the odt document's
contents into it, then exported that Pages file to PDF. The hyperlinks *were*
active in that PDF document.

Conclusion: problem is for LibreOffice text document file types only.

I could attach only one file to this bug report, so I chose the odt file,
rather than any of the other editable files, or their corresponding PDF
exported pdf file.

Heiko, is there any chance we could add a new GSoC project idea to [1] that
consists of improving tables in Impress?

It would involve fixing bugs reported in this Meta ticket, in addition to
modernizing how tables are handled in Impress.

[1] https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/GSoC/Ideas#Impress

As a frequent user of Impress tables myself, I come across too many bugs and UX
issues (most of them reported here). Moreover, creating tables in Impress is
something a lot of users do.

So I believe having someone working with Impress tables will pay off well.

This is a follow-up to bug 146402. The user-facing problem is now gone as
stated in 146402 comment 8, but a debug build with an empty profile still fails
to start.

Device is an AMD CPU with integrated graphics, drivers are Radeon Software
Adrenalin 21.10.2 (current WHQL driver), Skia log is in attachment 177346.

2022-01-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146766

Bug ID: 146766
Summary: Clone tool does not work for Impress tables
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Created attachment 177550

Video capture showing the problem

The Clone formatting tool does not work in Impress tables. It has 2 main
problems:

1) It only has effect inside the same table; so there is no way to clone the
formatting of a portion of one table and apply it to another table.

2) Even within the same table, results are not consistent (see attached video).
If you try to clone cells and apply the formatting to other cells, the source
format is not applied as expected.

System info:

Only a poke, based on the fact that it does concern Calc and it might be
important for good/reliability impressions. Charts/Images being often present
in Calc. OTOH: problem being there for long time.. and you can spend budget
only once..

Another question is who might know.. This is an rendering problem, so first
name on my list would be Armin..

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106335] Copying Attributes With the Clone Formatting Tool misses Impress

2022-01-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106335

This issue is still valid in LO 7.4. See:
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.4/en-US/text/shared/guide/paintbrush.html?DbPAR=SHARED#bm_id380260

Wee need an entry for "Impress table or cells are selected".

The main problem is that the Clone tool for tables in Impress is too buggy in
its current format. I ran a few tests here and nothing worked:
1) It only has any effect inside the same table (does not work across different
tables)
2) Even inside the same table results are completely unexpected

Wee need a separate bug report to fix these issues before documenting the Clone
tool for Impress tables.

This still is an issue in XHP files using the online help.

The "width" is an attribute of a table [1], however it has no effect even if I
set the "unit" attribute, f.i:

By default, not setting "unit" would use "px" as the unit, however this does
not work.

I'm not sure this is a duplicate of bug 144777; it happened again yesterday
making a similar change to a different file (this time with COUNTIF), and the
calculation took at most a few seconds, but it made the app (Prerelease
7.3.0.1) unusable for the rest of the day. I left it overnight to see if it
would finish, and this morning it was still unusable; I told it to close about
4 hours ago and it never finished closing. After forcequitting just now it did
not bring up the document recovery, and it seems to have recovered and be
updating the COUNTIF cells with no noticable delay

LLDB backtrace on crash

That's a lot of NSViewGetVisibleRect frames to be processing...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146439] Enabling italic causes a wiggle at different zoomlevels

2022-01-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146439

Turning on italic/non-italic means you really get a different font, the one
from file LiberationSerif-Italic.ttf instead of LiberationSerif-Regular.ttf for
regular. So if the problem is only (when view formatting marks is enabled) that
the paragraph marker moves in and out between italic/regular because the
regular version is wider than the italic then I think that's ok and there's
nothing that needs to be done.

If there's poor positioning of glyphs within the run of text, see if tools,
options, writer, view, "Layout & Match Render" makes an improvement.

Running the test in a lldb debug session in LO master daily, the output below

@PeeWee : when it crashes, can you get any Apple Trace information ?
e.g. from the Console.app logs ?

It crashes quite regularly for me too, but I have where possible reported the
precise circumstances under which this happens.

We need more detail from you I'm afraid.
