https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68354 --- Comment #6 from 907sh...@gmail.com <907sh...@gmail.com> --- Why is this not a priority? This is pretty basic plotting, and breaks almost all of my spreadsheets coming over from Excel. To not be able to scale the values in a series for the Axis labels is a pretty big oversight. The alternative is to create a separated data column that is formatted as you want it for the Axis labels, instead of a check box and dropdown in the Scale tab of the Axis Format dialog. PLEASE, can't someone implement this! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146977] New: Tooltip not visible in Sidebar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146977 Bug ID: 146977 Summary: Tooltip not visible in Sidebar Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.2.5.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: 907sh...@gmail.com When the Calc window is full screen on the LEFT monitor in a two-monitor setup where the right monitor is an extension of the second, but smaller than the left, the Tooltip that pops up on the Sidebar is not visible or only partially appears on the right screen. Visibility on the right monitor depends on how the smaller monitor is positioned in the Windows control panel when setting up the monitors. For example, in my case the Right monitor sits vertically in the middle of the larger Left monitor, so the sidebar Tooltips at the top are truncated on the Left monitor (there is no Right monitor at that height to show it on), but the lower Tooltips do appear at the very top of the Right monitor, although they are difficult to read. It would be better if in full screen window mode, regardless of screen arrangement, the Tooltip would right justify as it does on a single monitor OR as it does correctly on the RIGHT monitor in a two monitor setup. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146892] Special fields appears correctly only without "outline 1" style
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146892 --- Comment #8 from Mike Kaganski --- (In reply to Nucleos from comment #7) > I don't understand > how the «outline» hierarchy and the «heading» hierarchy are interrelated. > How/Why do they cancel each other out? In LibreOffice Writer, there is an outline concept, where normal text has outline level 0, and any paragraph with outline level greater than 0 defines a "heading". There are some convenience heading paragraph styles, just for user to avoid the hassle of defining their own heading styles, or worse - defining headings manually by setting outline levels at specific paragraphs; and these styles indeed already have proper outline levels. But they do not limit user's ability to define other styles with outline levels; or to format paragraphs to have those levels manually, at which point, such formatted paragraphs become headings without any style application. So outline is actual heading, and "Heading N" styles are just convenience methods. That is their interrelations. Please see our help [1], and out documentation [2]. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146976] New: Writer Crashes After Opening A Large File
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146976 Bug ID: 146976 Summary: Writer Crashes After Opening A Large File Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.2.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mxr...@gmail.com Description: Writer has many, many problems with large (>1.75Mb) files, including crashing. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open file. 2. Navigate to near the end of the document & save it. 3. Open the file again so the file is opened near the end of the file. 4. Window > New Window. 5. In the new window, click on the vertical slider bar. (If it doesn't crash, repeat, pressing Ctrl-Home first). Actual Results: crashes Expected Results: To go to the top of the document. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: All versions of Windows 10, on 32- & 64-bit installations. File size 2000 pages & larger, 2Mb or larger. No images. Just text. - Confirmed Writer versions: 7.1 thru latest release of 7.2 - This is an inherited problem from Open Office. It's a design problem in that shortly after a file is opened the software does something (scans the entire document?). It is not apparent on small files because it happens so quickly. A large file makes it extremely apparent. There are many other problems this creates. Even when it doesn't crash, the number of pages in the file is oftentimes incorrect until the 'scanning' stops. When halfway down in the document or lower, the pages keep jumping around, preventing moving to the desired location. It also crashes in other scenarios, but here's the easiest procedure I've found to reproduce the crash. I could go on, but you get the point. Until well after the 'scanning' is complete, the file isn't usable. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146892] Special fields appears correctly only without "outline 1" style
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146892 --- Comment #7 from Nucleos --- Thank you for your answer Heiko. The 2 files were not displaying the same thing as I made them... is that really supposed to happen? Clearly something is wrong to my eyes, and what's more, very difficult to detect... again for untrained eyes (for mine it took hours to write/understand the bug, Dieter said it took him a while too, probably 5 minutes haha... Isn't that too much already?) I know Bugzilla is not a platform for help, but I confess I don't understand how the «outline» hierarchy and the «heading» hierarchy are interrelated. How/Why do they cancel each other out? Is there any help file on the Internet where I can learn how they block each other? (I understand vaguely that in LO, a title should not be in a list and viceversa? Is that so?) If this is the expected result, at least add something to a help file somewhere? PS: I actually found what I think are 5 incomprehensible bugs like this one in a file I had to help a friend edit, and I thought this one was the most obvious one, a «lost chapter title» is clearly still a bug to me -- at least a UI really unpleasant experience -- so if there is no problem here... My documents must be formatted in such a way that the current date must be indicated at their end, in the following format: '"D" de "M" de "Y"' (for example, 24 de janeiro de 2022). However, whenever I re-open any document after closing it, the month's language is changed to English, ending up in a bizzare way, like "24 de January de 2022", for example. For that reason, each time I open any document, I must reformat the date back to portuguese. For some reason, I've noticed this bug only happens when the document is saved as .docx. Unfortunately, that is the only format accepted in my workplace. I guess it's worth mentioning that my LibreOffice's default language is set as brazilian portuguese, as well as my Windows and keyboard. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146968] Prototype UI for new Inking feature
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146968 --- Comment #2 from Lucas J --- Yes, I believe it is similar to https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132568 Can you provide more information about file format changes? At this time, one of the goals of my prototype is to make it so there does not need to be any file format change. Just to make some things clear: 1. We are not creating new types of lines 2. We are utilizing already existing functionality that can already be saved in files 3. We are simply saving the user's style so they don't have to manually do it themselves Example: User draws a line in Draw. They set it to yellow, make it thick, and set it to be transparent. This looks like a highlighter. Already can be saved in the file. Next time user wants to draw this line, they must repeat the process all over again. Goal is to create custom button that automatically applies such styles when selected. Since we are not creating a new type of object and simply applying existing properties, I see no need to change file format. This is very similar to the Inking functionality in MS Office. Therefore, the goal is to market this as Inking functionality, not merely saving styles. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146969] New: Add "toggle formatting marks" functionality in impress
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146969 Bug ID: 146969 Summary: Add "toggle formatting marks" functionality in impress Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: theo.konstan...@web.de Description: In LibreOffice writer there is the toggle formatting marks functionality which can be activated by pressing Ctrl+F10 or using the icon in the menu. After activating all non printable characters are displayed. I suggest to add the same functionality for impress. Due to the nature of impress I think when activating this function, this should apply to all text fields, so that these non printable characters are displayed (e.g.:¶). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open impress and insert some non printable characters 2. Go to Insert --> Formatting Mark 3. Select one of the available options there 4. Repeat steps 2 to 3 to add more non printable characters as desired 5. Try to make them visible. Actual Results: Currently in impress no function is available to view these non printable characters. Expected Results: Use a function (e.g. as in writer) to make the non printable characters used to format the text inside a text field visible. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146968] Prototype UI for new Inking feature
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146968 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added CC||armin.le.gr...@me.com, ||mikekagan...@hotmail.com --- Comment #1 from Heiko Tietze --- Sounds like bug 90045 asking for brush tool. It would be kind of post-processing of lines similar to the lately introduced effects. First problem is to save/export and load/import in other applications. You need a specification at the file format. If this all is about kind of a true line style (the term is used for the appearance ie. dotted, dashed, solid etc.), see bug 132568 and bug 136224 in this case - the same applies for the file format. But function-wise it just combines all available attributes and allows to set it at once. Please keep in mind that we have drawing styles in Draw/Impress where you can define the line attributes right now. Would be nice to have it in Writer and Calc too, see bug 89369. This would be my preferred solution if I don't misunderstand your proposal. What I always dislike on MSO's features is the missing use case. Just to present a bunch of predefined colors with varying width would be totally boring. We strive for freedom and a few options but full ease to configure, store, share etc. See [1] how it should work. You questions address all developers. Pasting it here (it's annoying to download and open a document when text can easily be read here): So what are some things that would need to be known in order to start developing? • How to add new toolbar in LibreOffice by default ◦ How to dynamically add/remove buttons to toolbars ◦ Way to make icon color match the user’s settings (similar to highlighter or font color button) ◦ Way to read/write to user settings so that LibreOffice knows what kinds of pens to populate in the toolbar ◦ Add context menu with Delete or Edit buttons when triangle is selected next to icon • How to include mini Pen Settings UI and make it save the data to user settings • Make each respective pen button automatically apply the styles and invoke the freeform or straight line function [1] https://design.blog.documentfoundation.org/2015/12/22/area-fill-options-made-consistent/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144257] Recalculating after deleting cell contents (used in formulas) increased from 2 to 10 seconds if multi-threaded
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144257 --- Comment #17 from Timur --- (In reply to Timur from comment #5) > 6.0 master: 2 sec > 6.1 oldest:100+, frozen > 6.1 master: 12 sec > 6.2 before commit: 12 sec > 7.3+ 8 sec 7.4+ We have different systems, but versions with change were identified. So now are relevant for test: 6.0 master/latest to see how fast it was, 7.3 oldest to see how it was when reported, master which is 7.4+ to see it now. 7.4+ seem unchanged from 7.3-, faster than 6.2 but slower than without multi-threaded calc, which is almost instant.
