[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147383] Split DataBase HSQLBD 2.6.1 in LO 7 series Query editing issues
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147383 --- Comment #3 from Robert Großkopf --- So I tested external HSQLDB with hsqldb.jar from HSQLDB 2.6.1 There are queries in the database I had created earlier. Queries will work. I could create new queries - all fields will be shown double-quoted when switching to direct SQL mode. Could be the special behavior you have detected is a behavior - of your special version of LO (Ubuntu or did you install the packages directly from LibreOffice?) - of the extension you are using. Don't know where a extension should help here. Is only a JavaDriverClassPath, which must be set special for the datbase you are using as external databes. Whitout this every internal HSQLDB will be opened by the external driver. Tested with Version: 7.3.0.3 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 0f246aa12d0eee4a0f7adcefbf7c878fc2238db3 CPU threads: 6; OS: Linux 5.3; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb) Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE Calc: threaded on OpenSUSE 15.3 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136687] Order of characters typed into comments scrambled
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136687 --- Comment #6 from Luke Kendall --- Sorry, I just tried it again now in version 7.2.1.2 and it seems fine. The only oddity was that the comment text scrolled right by one character (so I couldn't see the first character on each line), until I arrowed through the text to bring the cursor to the start of a line. At that point the text all scrolled to the right one character so I could see it from the left edge. (I've never seen comment text do that before. There was no horizontal scroll bar.) Yes, happy to see this marked as Resolved. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 130564] PostgreSQL ODBC: Unable to create view through Base-GUI, if no view is created before
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130564 --- Comment #7 from Robert Großkopf --- Bug is still the same in LO 7.3.0.3 und OpenSUSE 15.3 64bit rpm Linux. You couldn't create a view in PostgreSQL through ODBC (and direct connection) in GUI. You have to create a vie in Tools → SQL before. JDBC-connector shows the possibility to create a view directly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147332] Writer crashed, didn't recover document, lost work
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147332 --- Comment #14 from Luke Kendall --- Having restarted Not in safe mode, a similar but different strange editing behaviour is happening. Twice in the last few minutes I've selected some text and typed replacement text, and Writer has added a second copy of the text I just typed. E.g. I selected the word "leg" and replaced it with the word "foot", and Writer produced "footfoot" Then I deleted "feel of" and made another correction, then decided to type in "feel of" again. After I typed the "of", the text appeared doubled to "feel offeel of" Since I can show this at least by undoing and redoing, I made a small screen recording of it. I'll attach that: 147332-TextDoubling.mkv -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147332] Writer crashed, didn't recover document, lost work
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147332 --- Comment #13 from Luke Kendall --- So, after a few hours of editing in safe mode, I didn't experience any examples of the input jumbling, but it did just crash mid-editing again. (Version 7.3.0.3) At least this time it produced a crash report, and I had saved not long before the crash, so I didn't lose much work I think. The crash report is at ... rats. I did a Ctrl-C of the URL, but it apparently didn't work. The crash was about 4 minutes before I added this comment, if that helps find it? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147386] Calc - Text Import from csv - 'Fields' preview is invisible
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147386 --- Comment #10 from Loren Amelang --- Sorry, one more... I went back to Safe Mode and made a single change: Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice -> Application Colors -> Color Scheme -> Libre Office Dark The csv preview became _almost_ invisible - see screenshot. Apparently the tweaks that get me maximum contrast in spreadsheet content eliminate that tiny bit of default contrast in the import dialog. Personally I'd call the untweaked screenshot version "invisible" for practical use. Maybe you could tweak the official dark theme? Or probably better, tweak the csv import dialog to use colors like the actual sheet content does? That code must already exist... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147398] In Calc ver 7.3.0.3. =Sum covering a range of cells fails to adjust when additional values are added within the range
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147398 John Murphy changed: What|Removed |Added CC||mhd...@virginmedia.com --- Comment #1 from John Murphy --- Created attachment 178247 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=178247=edit ODS of 2 sheets each displaying the same issue slightly differently. Sheet 1 is a multi column data range with an =Sum and an =CountA at the top. In this sheet the column Sum and Count appear to work correctly when additional data is added to the range covered. However when the totals of the Sum and Count of all the columns is used in a simple =Sum(*:*)/Sum(*:*) to give an overall average it works initially but will not readjust if additional data is addte to other cells covered in the range. Sheet 2 Is a simple two column data range set up as per Sheet 1. However I have noticed that when initially created, if data is added to the Left Hand column the overall average will not update, while data added to the RH column did update the O/A Avg. However having saved and closed the file, upon reopening it now does the same as Sheet 1 above. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147398] New: In Calc ver 7.3.0.3. =Sum covering a range of cells fails to adjust when additional values are added within the range
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147398 Bug ID: 147398 Summary: In Calc ver 7.3.0.3. =Sum covering a range of cells fails to adjust when additional values are added within the range Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.3.0.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mhd...@virginmedia.com Description: I ran an auto update to ver 7.3.0.3. yesterday and when I added a new entry to my existing spreadsheet running in Ubuntu 20.04 I have found that the simple =Sum(:) will not calculate beyond the last old entry before the update. I have ensured that the references to the cells include those in which I have put the new entries but the calc just ignores the new entries. if there were 20 entries before the update and I add a further 3 entries it still includes only 20, even though the range of fields include the new entries. I have checked that the cell format is numeric and it is. Copying the offending sheet contents (mark all/copy/paste) to a new document still repeats the anomaly. Description: A calculated cell dependent on several other calculated cells does not update even what certain antecedent cells see a change in data and update correctly. Copied versions of the sheet contents in other sheets seem to vary in which antecedent cell dependencies do not trigger update of the dependent cell. Toggling auto-calculate has no effect. Toggling (and restarting) multi-threading seems to have no effect. Dependent cell does update after hard recalculate. Only the built-in SUM and COUNTA functions are in use at any level. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create a multi column sheet with a row for Sum and an additional row for CountA. 2.Set the Sum to cover the data entered and some additional empty cells in the column. 3.Set the CountA as per step 2 above 4.In a separate cell set the formula =Sum(*:*)/Sum(*.*) the first Sum being the sum of the column Sum cells the second being the sum of the CountA cell values. The objective being to give an overall avg. Actual Results: When established the O/A Avg is produced ok. However when additional data is added into the data columns in cells covered by the column Sum and CountA the O/A Avg does not recognise the changed values displayed in the column Sum & CountA. Expected Results: The O/A Avg should adjust to reflect the new values in the column Sum and Count. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: A copy of the calc has been provided on Ask LibrsOffice.org and @Joshua4 has had the same result on his system. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147386] Calc - Text Import from csv - 'Fields' preview is invisible
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147386 --- Comment #9 from Loren Amelang --- More compulsive searching... https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142172 V Stuart Foote 2021-05-15 17:55:49 UTC ... No reason we can't devise themes suitable for multiple os/DE--to optionally bypass os/DE themeing. But what is holding LO back continues to be that not all components of the UI are exposed for control in the Application Colors panel and its .xcu configurations. Both facets--toggle to bypass os/DE "system" theme, completing a framework for UI application colors--will need dev attention. I guess that's what I'm encountering - some parts of the csv import dialog are affected by my mode choices, but not all of them respond like the sheet content does. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147386] Calc - Text Import from csv - 'Fields' preview is invisible
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147386 --- Comment #8 from Loren Amelang --- @raal Somehow that safe mode shows actual data! Maybe I'd already changed color settings before I first tried csv import... My vision is so bad it is miserable to work with white backgrounds or a low-contrast dark mode. I spent hours of searching and experimenting to get the actual spreadsheet content into a usable pure white text on pure black dark mode. This csv import dialog is the only place where that doesn't seem to be working. I'd rather keep 99+% of my work comfortable than sacrifice that for a dialog I rarely use. I'll ask again... Is there some tool that can tell you which color settings affect some particular detail of the display? Apparently the csv import dialog is set up quite differently from actual sheet content. Having to randomly experiment with dozens of mysterious color options affecting different parts of the program differently is no fun... I'm thankful Libre lets me turn my content high-contrast dark, I couldn't find any way to do that in Excel. Wish I could get the rest of the app as nicely dark as it is in Linux, but dark content is more important. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140211] Date suffix superscript formatting persisting

Because nd has gained the superscript, each character > that follows has the same format. It is the same thing in Writer. You just > forgot to type a space after nd before leaving the cell. > > This behavior is not linked to the date format. You can try with the words > "The 1st player". If you type (without the quotes) : > 1/ 'The 1st' > 2/ ' player' > you will get: 'The 1^st^ player' > > If you type: > 1/ 'The 1st ' > 2/ 'player' > you will get: 'The 1^st player' as expected. > > Best regards. JBF The issue is that if you leave a cell with the superscript applied on the last character then, on returning, /even/ if you then start with a space, all subsequent characters will be superscripted. e.g. The cell said '14th', you leave and rejoin, adding ' of july' results in the ' of july' also being subscripted. If you were to type '14th of july' without leaving/re-entering the cell, it will correctly remove the superscript from 'of july'. My point was that there's clearly some logic applied after typing a suffix to remove the superscripting, but this is not being applied if re-entering a cell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4B_QfHKTw0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

TO DEMONSTRATE 1. Open the attached Writer file. Create an epub. 2. Open the epub with the CALIBRE Editor and inspect the html / css. Points to note: 1. Headings are translated to paragraph styles. Why not simply translate a heading into the html equivalent: h1, h2, h3 etc.? 2. The text is littered with unnecessary span tags. Why not simply use and tags? 3. There is an empty span style in the style sheet! 4. There are two paragraph styles in the css where only one exists in the Writer file. Could the html be simplified? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144053] Installation of German Language Pack for Version 7.x fails on OSX High Sierra
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144053 --- Comment #7 from Matthias Wilde --- (In reply to der_ron from comment #6) > Hello documentfoundation community, > > thank you for your hard work to provide a free office software for all of us! > > I have to second Matthias Wilde in this case: > > please correct and simplify your language pack installation script for the > mac os platform, in my case mac os High Sierra! > > I write this comment after 5 hours of struggling to get LibreOffice 7.2 and > the german language pack to work on my pc. > > > Best regards, Ron Hi Ron, thanks for your support. I think the main problem on my machine is, that i have disabled "Spotlight" for privacy reasons and i will never enable it again. So i cannot say, if it would work normally having Spotlight enabled or not. But as i already mentioned in my comment (2021-08-25) extracting the language pack manulally did the trick for me and i exercised this just now with the new LO 7.3.0.3. If the creator of the installer would use another detection method (not using mdls) this could help probably. Also it would be great, if the creator of the language pack installer add my workaround to the "Readme" included in the image so other users having privacy issues have a workaround: After mounting the image you need only to run two commands: - 'tar -C /Applications/LibreOffice.app/ -xjf /Volumes/LibreOffice\ de\ Language\ Pack/LibreOffice\ Language\ Pack.app/Contents/Resources/tarball.tar.bz2' - touch /Applications/LibreOffice.app//Contents/Resources/extensions Now you can use LO with your preferred Language. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
