[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 150143] New: EDITING: special characters / preferred characters too limited
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150143 Bug ID: 150143 Summary: EDITING: special characters / preferred characters too limited Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.2.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: and...@laposte.net When editing a cell, and selecting the special characters option, one is presented with unicode tables. (Over 30 pages of 96 characters/page.) There is a option to add characters to a much smaller preferred (or favorite) table, which saves a considerable time over scanning the unicode tables to find the wanted characters. This preferred table is limited to 16 characters. In my use case (pinyin alphabet), there are exactly 24 different characters used. So I suggest doubling the size of this table to 32 characters, which would help other users regularly using more than 16 characters. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150138 --- Comment #5 from Hossein --- The Arabic text inside the document has these characteristics: 1. It has several diacritical marks, which are sometimes put above each one excessively. 2. Tatweel character (ـ) is used extensively to extend the size of some words. 3. The font chosen for the characters is non-existent: "arabicTest". In this way, many glyphs are missing, even in the display from earlier versions that don't crash. 4. I have changed font of all the text to "Amiri Quran" with LO 7.3 which does not crash here. It currently has the following tabs: - Table - Text flow - Columns - Borders - Background I don't know why the "Row height" command is inaccessible through this dialog. There could be a "Row" tab to make it easier to set the exact row height, as currently is the case in the Sidebar. The fact that "Row height" is inside the "Size" entry of the context menu (or by using the Table - Size menu) is a bit confusing for me. I believe this can be improved. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150122 --- Comment #5 from Mike Kaganski --- One more point to mention. Your system misses Calibri font (used in the document). It likely can have Carlito, though; and the latter is metrically compatible with Calibri. If you install Carlito, the text layout is expected to match the original layout. The frames used on the second page are positioned relative to the whole page; so regardless of the main text flow, the frames will stay on the same spot. That could explain why some text from the main text body overlaps the frames on your screenshot. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
