As I mentioned there, I share the frustration about the object.

> Are the necessary changes in the API too complex?

No. The question is - what is necessary? I'd say - having a TextTable property,
and implementing com::sun::star::container::XEnumerationAccess to iterate
cells, would possibly cover the majority of problems?

Thanks for the heads up. The crash happens because I missed adding some file
changes to the commit that I had made locally that let the build system know
about the dialog. Fix patch on the way.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137144] some toolbar font size fractions wrong

2022-10-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137144

Dear Nick Levinson,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151849] New: Find-and-replace shortcut becomes keyboard-layout-sensitive in find bar

2022-10-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151849

Bug ID: 151849
   Summary: Find-and-replace shortcut becomes
keyboard-layout-sensitive in find bar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eyalr...@gmx.com

I'm using LO Writer with Hebrew and English keyboard layouts.

Usually, pressing Ctrl+H opens the Find & Replace dialog - even if my keyboard
layout is Hebrew (i.e. Ctrl+י - the Hebrew letter Yod, _not_ a single quote).
But if my cursor is in the find bar textbox - Ctrl+H works, and Ctrl+י doesn't
work.

Version: 7.4.1.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 40(Build:2)
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-IL (en_IL); UI: en-US
Debian package version: 1:7.4.1-1

When Track-changes is enabled, and you delete a comment, it's marked as
deleted, which is as it should be. However, if you want to "really" delete it
at this point, you need to accept the change. And what is more natural than
right-clicking the comment and doing that through its context menu... except
that the context menu doesn't offer than item, of accepting the comment
deletion. It should.

The description was about empty items in submenu, look at the screenshot.
If we talk about icons for menu items, then let's change Summary , but I saw
Heiko's opinion like "we don't need icon for every menu item, we need it only
for important things"

Several methods in the chart2 namespace are missing methods on the XPropertySet
interface.

I am pointing to my OOO Development Tools project so show examples of these
bugs.
see: https://github.com/Amourspirit/python_ooo_dev_tools

--
XChartDocument.getPageBackground() is a XProperySet however is missing
setPropertyValue() and getPropertySetInfo() methods and raises an attribute
error when trying to access.

See: Chart2 code

XChartDocument.getFirstDiagram().getWall() is a XProperySet however is missing
setPropertyValue() and getPropertySetInfo() methods and raises an attribute
error when trying to access.

--
Service CandleStickChartType
CandleStickChartType.WhiteDay is a XProperySet however is missing
setPropertyValue() and getPropertySetInfo() methods and raises an attribute

Same is true for CandleStickChartType.BlackDay

Current work around is to set the properties directly and not use the
XPropertySet.
Such as:
white_day_dpp.FillColor = int(w_day_color)
from

I suggest expanding the settings for Calc in the options menu so the users have
the choice how it reacts.

For example:
* Calc classic (LibreOffice Calc just do anyting like the other/older versions
before)
* Excel (LibreOffice Calc does nearly everthing like Microsoft Excel)
* Google Sheets (LibreOffice does nearly everything like Google Sheets)
* Custom (The user can customize functions/reactions in Calc)

To better duplicate this bug, please use a printer that offers full-bleed
capabilities. I am using the HP Photosmart C3100 series.

Next, choose a borderless paper size; in this case the Letter Borderless
8.5x11in.

What occurs is the display of the three sizes as shown in the screenshot.

My belief is that the program has not been designed toward the output
(WYSIWYG), and the format is adjusted outside the paper size to make the full
size of the paper usable. This skews the sizes displayed; even putting them
outside the actual paper size limits.

This doesn't have much to do with hyphenation. I'm talking about _any_ breaks,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 150446] Incorrect behaviour of gutter in mirrored pages with top binding

2022-10-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150446

(In reply to Dieter from comment #4)
> Regina, you've added yourself to cc: list. Any ideas?

Short version: There is a problem with the combination of gutter position "top"
with "mirrored" page layout. Applying the additional gutter distance only to
odd pages is surely wrong. What is considered as "correct" behavior has to be
discussed in UX.

Longer version:
Only the gutter positions "left" and "right" are included in the page style.
And only these positions will be specified in ODF 1.4. The gutter position
"top" is the general setting "GutterAtTop" in settings.xml in file and not
interpreted by other applications. It was introduced for import/export of docx.
A "gutter" in file markup does not add any distances to the margins, but is
only an information that application can use to inform document authors/readers
of the gutter expected in binding process.

Setting a gutter does not define a binding edge. But the binging edge is
defined by the writing-mode. A binding edge is either left or right. A
writing-mode with "top" binding edge does not exist.

A "mirrored" page layout does always only affect the right and left margins.
Microsoft Word is consequent and disables setting gutter position in case the
page layout is "mirrored". From the meaning of "gutter" it makes no sense to
have it at an other position than "inner" in case of "mirrored" page layout.

Word has a gutter position "top" in case of normal page layout. So we need a
way to keep this information. That is the mentioned setting "GutterAtTop". The
so defined distance is always on top, on even and odd pages as well.

Since no writing-mode with "top" binding edge exists, you need to configure the
needed margins yourself and use your printer settings to generate a duplex
print usable for top binding. The page layout "mirrored" is not suitable for
that purpose, but use "only left" and "only right".

These are my personal opinions:
The feature "gutter" is immature and especially for position "top" it is
half-baked.

As long as there exist no explicit "top" binding and the gutter position "top"
is not part of the page style, the position "top" should be moved to "Expert
Configuration" and Options > Writer > Compatibility. In case it is on there,
the gutter position selection in the page style dialog should be disabled with
an additional info text, that general gutter position is "top" for this
document by compatibility settings and that such setting is only useful in docx
format.

And in case of "mirrored" page layout we should follow Word and disable the
position selection. We could display "inner" as gutter position. At least we
should disable position "top" in case of "mirrored" page layout. That is no
restriction for docx import/export as the combination of "top" gutter position
with "mirrored" page layout is not possible in Word.

   Version: 7.4.2.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kyri...@alumni.princeton.edu

Description:
Under Linux/KDE Plasma, the Greek keyboard laytout provides the ability to
enter Greek polytonic characters, using special dead keys. E.g., to enter ἔ
(epsilon-psile-oxeia), one can type "right alt-shift-; ; e" (psile, oxeia,
epsilon) or "; right alt-shift ; e" (oxeia, psile, epsilon). Writer, however,
only recognizes the latter combination.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install the "Greek" keyboard layout (not "Greek (polytonic)") under KDE
Plasma.
2.Switch to it.
3.Type right alt-shift-; ; e in Writer.

Actual Results:
The character ε appears.

Expected Results:
The character ἔ should appear.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
Version: 7.4.2.3 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 40(Build:3)
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 6.0; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: el-GR (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

The problem does not appear in calc.

If I paste the character from another application, it appears correctly, so
this is not a font problem.

I believe that this is a relatively recent regression, as I edited a polytonic
Greek text about a year ago, and didn't notice any problems. The sequence
oxeia-psile is very unnatural to me, so I am sure I would have noticed if only
that one worked.

Can not confirm. The "$" Find entry used with 'Regular Expressions" option
checked identifies each Paragraph object. While the "\n" Find entry regex
identifies each + "line break" present in a paragraph or other
object.
