Dear Samuel ORTION,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

I tend to disagree. We can look out standard numbering for an example. In
Bullets and Numbering bar, Promote and Demote precisely reflect the action of
east-west/left right direction though in heading this is not entirely reflected
with place shifting but the logic is the same. Changing to up down arrow will
make more confusion with Move Up/Move Down commands. Galaxy icon theme which
were official Sun Ooo.org era use left right as well. There was should exist
proper and careful choice here.

So WF for me.

Not knowing exactly how a copy is made, i.e. a perfect bit by bit copy or not,
I was not sure that sending a copy to you would in fact be a perfect copy of
the original file.

The original file has been submitted together with screenshots of the the steps
I supposedly did during the editing as recorded by the computer.

I sometimes wonder if these rare changes occur due to a 'gremlin' piece of
software built deep into the application, and not built into the files created
by it, activated at random.

The other possibility is due to the age of the file, but this file is less than
four years old, and this is the first occurrence of this issue in this file.

My other Calc sheets are up to 15 years old, and they suffer more frequently
from this and the auto conversion of any "@ text" to a link. Usually the whole
paragraph is changed to a link requiring me to do a cut and paste special
without formatting. In the previously attached Calc sample the @ text
conversion was limited to the adjoining characters.

This is the second set of screenshots, taken from the video I took by undoing
my changes and then videoing the changes remembered by the computer of me
entering data.

This set shows the self induced changes I was not wanting, and to my surprise
adding new text that I did not type on this day. That new text does not exist
anymore, possibly because I tried to undo and redo the changes after making the
video and it disappeared during that last attempt to recover my data. The Undo
/ Redo facility lost my data. If it were not for me having the video, the data
would have been lost.

Not really.

The newly attached file is a different problem as it does not involve
INDIRECT() and thus no reference list is created, though slightly related. The
array formula {=SUM($Week1.B$1:$Week5.B$8=A2)} for the comparison (as for any
operator/function that expects scalar values as operands) would have to create
a 3D array of $Week1.B$1:$Week5.B$8 that simply is nowhere supported.
{=ABS($Week1.B$1:$Week5.B$8)} equally does not work.

You probably have different Python interpreters for each case.

In Calc the interpreter is probably different than the one you use in the
shell. To verify that, use:

import sys
print(sys.executable)

Run the code above (1) from APSO Python shell and (2) from your terminal shell.
You'll probably notice that the executable is different.

I oppose this re-activation, because:

1. The "new development" is a for-profit organization which has a financial
interest in doing processing for money on collected user data; and the blog
post was made despite an earlier discussion of the initiative failing to reach
agreement on pursuing it.

2. Introduction of user monitoring code back into LO is a significant decision
with far-reaching consequences. It may even conflict with an appropriate
interpretation of "user-centered", i.e. with a tenet of the development
community the TDF is purposed to promote. I thus claim that it requires wide
consultation of the members and discussion in the BoG.

Ah, but we can change this - by instituting two-level filtering! We add another
list, of input filter categories; and reset the filters in the OS/DE dialog
based on the selection in that list. Most/all categories will now be small
enough to fit nicely on the monitor.

impl for this is vcl/unx/gtk3/gtkframe.cxx:5727 we have...

while (tmp_list)
{
PangoAttribute *pango_attr = static_cast(tmp_list->data);

switch (pango_attr->klass->type)
{
case PANGO_ATTR_BACKGROUND:
sal_attr |= ExtTextInputAttr::Highlight;
rCursorFlags |= EXTTEXTINPUT_CURSOR_INVISIBLE;

}
pango_attribute_destroy (pango_attr);
tmp_list = tmp_list->next;
}
if (sal_attr == ExtTextInputAttr::NONE)
sal_attr |= ExtTextInputAttr::Underline;

so we're probably setting underline at the end for the "NONE" case that might

Screenshot of the patched button

In [1] we see that COL_BLACK is hardcoded as the line color regardless of
anything. And for the button color the FaceColor is used (which depends on
system settings).

[1]
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/ui/cctrl/dpcontrol.cxx?r=ce76f924#176

So I prepared a patch that draws the button with a light gray line
(COL_LIGHTGRAY) when the face color is dark. Otherwise, the current COL_BLACK
is used.

See the screenshot of the patched version.

1. But Writer has PDF import, so the use case does exist. And the PDF import in
Writer uses lots of textboxes, so the use case is actually quite common.
2. The motivating use case does not have to be only use case.

I imagine that it is an easy hack - although I would phrase it as "disable the
command if less than 2 selected objects are text boxes". The code pointer is
the link in comment 3.

I would suggest adding a (bool bTestOnly) to
svx/source/svdraw/svdedtv2.cxx's CombineMarkedTextObjects

and return true if ( GetMarkedObjectCount() > 1 )

Depending on how easy you want to make the hack - someone could point out where
to check the State for .uno:TextCombine (since my UI knowledge is minimal).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151151] Block z-order for watermark shapes on opening

2022-11-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151151

--- Comment #5 from Regina Henschel  ---
The quirks with accessing the Watermark shape in Navigator have their reason in
the fact, that all Watermark shapes have the same name. To prevent such
problems, naming for regular objects has been changed so that their names are
unique. Such is missing for Watermark shapes.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151151] Block z-order for watermark shapes on opening

Regina Henschel  changed:

 CC||rb.hensc...@t-online.de

--- Comment #4 from Regina Henschel  ---
A Watermark shape is a regular Fontwork shape, which is anchored to the header
and thus is part of the page style. So z-order works for Watermark shapes the
same as for all such header anchored objects.

You need to allow z-ordering because the user needs the ability to determine
the position of a Watermark in regard to other objects anchored to the header,
e.g. a logo or a frame with enterprise infos.

The only thing which is special about a watermark is its name
"PowerPlusWaterMarkObject". That is hard-coded to distinguish a Watermark shape
from other shapes anchored to the header. That magic name is needed to trigger,
that when using 'Insert Watermark' the existing one can be 'edit'. In fact it
is not an edit, but the old one is deleted and the new one is inserted.

The grayed out "PowerPlusWaterMarkObject" shapes in the Navigator belong to the
other page styles.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151562] Text jumps down by a pixel after entering

2022-11-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151562

--- Comment #6 from fml2  ---
> Excel jumps numbers from right to left

Did you mean "from left to right"? This is partly true. If enter a number into
aen empty cell in Excel, the editing is first aligned left. But when I finish
editing (e.g. by pressing Enter) and the value is a number, the it jumps to the
right. After that, when I edit the value (by going to the cell pressing F2), it
remains aligned right. Vertical jumping is never present.

> but when aligned left it still changes the border by a few pixels and also
> moves the content.

The border is changed even if the value is aligned right, but the contents
keeps its position -- vertically and horizontally.

IMO the current behaviour is too disturbing.

> Frames are essential for advanced layouts...

They were used for some time, but I think even when I started learning about
HMTL/CSS in 2004 or so they were already considered problematic and advanced
layouts were build with tables and then CSS2.

Sometimes, iframes are used today, which perform a different function I think
are usually not jumped to with link attributes.
