Hello Stéphane,

I have just tested it with portable Version of:
Version: 7.2.7.2 (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 8d71d29d553c0f7dcbfa38fbfda25ee34cce99a2
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: CL

Still the same problem within LO with the Clipboard.

The failure is in ALL Apps from LO, not only calc
Tested with Draw, Impress, Writer and Calc

Since it’s an assertion, you must have a debug build, is it your case?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152939] New: File Name, Saving, Opening Problem

2023-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152939

Bug ID: 152939
Summary: File Name, Saving, Opening Problem
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: zynd...@hotmail.com

I'm sorry I don't know the right way to describe the problem. My understanding
of programming is very limited.

When I click on a file, or I use the FILE drop down menu and select RECENT
DOCUMENT, the Calc file may open without a name. At first I thought I had
somehow saved a file as a template and I was opening it instead of the
spreadsheet I was working on.

But when I go to save, either clicking the disc icon or use the FILE drop down
menu to SAVE or SAVE AS, it brings up a window to save the file as if it's
never been saved before. It shows no files in the folder. I type in the name
and click save and it asks if I want to overwrite the file (it's not showing.)
I overwrite and for the session I can save. It resets when I close the file.

I've been using computers, and various office programs, since the 90s. I've
seen a lot of errors. As far as I know, I've never seen this one before.

Unfortunately it does not work. I hopefully installed 7.4.4.1, tested -> fail,
installed 7.5, tested -> fail, installed 7.2.7 -> works!
Are you sure you didn´t press F9 or doubleclicked one of the fields to edit the
content?
In 7.2.7, you can go directly into the grey area of any field, edit it, and all
the other fields in the dokument update immediately. In LO > 7.2.7.2 you can
go into the grey area of any field too, but all the other fields will not
update until you update the fields manually i.e. by pressing F9.
Please have a look at the attached PDF

Thanks for your support.

Thanks for looking at this report.

The file is generated by an accounting software through an XML file, and the
attachment it's a minimal reproduction file. It is supposed NOT to be edited by
anyone, being automatically generated.

The B6 value is a percentage that means the reduction of taxes. Big taxes with
10% means something. So, zero could mean in this case that we NOT apply the
law.

I know that modifying any number and UNDO resolve the case, but I am not the
only user who use it (others don't know the trick). Could be hundreds of people
who could be affected by this wrong percent. More important, I tested this
file, and Microsoft Office is opening the file with the correct value. Just
LibreOffice don't.

Right Gutter position

Hello.

In Persian (Farsi) language books, the gutter of the book is on the right side.
So it’s strange for me that why there is right gutter as a separate option in
the LibreOffice settings, when the right option could have been added to the
gutter position dropdown list?
Is this due to a mistake in the user interface design?

Open the workbook. Go to "Edit" -> "Find and Replace" (Ctrl+H). In the "Find"
field, introduce one space character (i.e. " " _without_ the quotation marks).
Mark the checkbox for "Entire cells" and press "Find All".

Once you review that the resulting list is indeed exactly what you want to
edit, you could use the "Replace" field. If you have the "Replace" field
completely empty while the "Find" field has one space character and the
checkbox for "Entire cells" is marked, you could press "Replace All". This
procedure should delete the content of those one-space-character cells.

I will now close this bug report.

When utilizing cell validation based on cell range (with drop-down), to
consider:

- Activating autocomplete triggered by typing directly into the cell.
  - (Currently requires first to mouse-click drop-down arrow or Alt + down
before will respond to typing)

- Autocomplete leveraging a full-text search of the data in the cell range.
  - (e.g. if user types in part of the cell content that is at the end of the
cell, it will still find the item from the drop-down).

You have defined the data range 'dati' (Menu/Data/Define database range) with
the option 'Contains columns labels' marked, so excel takes the first line of
the range as column labels, converting E5 to text.
Deselect it so excel opens fine in both file types.

Unfortunately not configurable, this is hard coded logic in one of several

I have done this experiment with a new text with 500 pages just text:
- Set like you 1 minute AutoRecovery and Backup
- after 1 minute it's loading in the status bar, like it's saving, but status
bar icon is still red (unsaved) and also in standard toolbar is still red
(unsaved)
- in a terminal I found the process ID for soffice and kill it
- after opening LibreOffice, it offers to recover, and I get all my 500 pages,
so, they were saved, but the symbol for saving are still red, even after
recovery

I can confirm just the red icons, but not the recovery process (everything fine
in my case).

grofaty changed:

@Stephane, sorry for late response. Your question: "Can you point to a dialog
that applies the changes when the "Close" button is pressed?"

I can't. That is not what I have been claiming. I am trying to say, there are
two buttons: Close and Cancel. The effect of Close button in all cases I have
described are always the same as Cancel button. If two buttons have the same
effect, then I see no reason in one occasion to use Close and in another
occasion to use Cancel. My point is, following the simplicity rule, one of the
buttons (Close or Cancel) should be removed and only one of them be used. In
majority of the programs there is Cancel button and to follow user familarity
with user interface, we should follow the Cancel button.

In example, you are referring to the Insert | Hyperlink. If we apply the logic:
1. In URL field type in some address like: www.test.com
2. Now lets follow what do the buttons: Reset, Apply, Close and OK perform.
Reset: it clear all of the data fields. Just like selecting text in the fields
and right click and Delete.
Apply: Apply the setting (in this case insert hyperlink into the selected Calc
cell) and leave the dialog open.
OK: OK should always!!! mean exactly the same action as Apply (so inserting the
hyperlink into the selected cell) and!!! additionally close the dialog.
Close: In this case what happens, program executes Reset (cleaning all of the
data in all of the fields) and closes the dialog. This is classical Cancel
operation. Why? Because we lose the data we have manually typed into the URL
field. Close in this case is incorrectly used, it should be Cancel button.
Cancel means lose everything you have set in the dialog and perform no
operation in the Calc cells.

When does Close button make sense to be used instead of Cancel button? Close
should be used if there is e.g. Delete button inside dialog and after we click
the Delete, then action is finished, there is no way to Cancel Delete effect,
in this case Close button is appropriate to indicate, we can't change our mind
and cancel the option. For example if there is file dialog. We open file
dialog, select file and we click on Delete button and so we deleted the file.
In this case Cancel button can not be used any more because we have deleted the
file and file is irreversible deleted. We can't use Cancel anymore, because we
can't reverse the delete file action. The only option in this case would be
Close button. The Close button means: There is no other action to be applied or
there is no other action to be canceled, the only thing that can be done is
close down the dialog.

2023-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 152930

150% high-DPI scaling
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fred...@witherden.org

Description:
On Linux the drawing code in Calc appears to have issues with fractional
scaling that results in text/line art corruption. This includes cell lines
breaking up, and pieces of text being cut off/overdrawn (see screenshot where
issues are identified in red). On window blur the issues resolve themselves.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On an X11 Linux system with a high-DPI display open up a new Calc document.
2. Populate some cells with content.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152929] New: Sparkline ignore "High points" color when all values are negative

2023-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152929

Bug ID: 152929
Summary: Sparkline ignore "High points" color when all values
are negative
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: regeirs.fo...@gmail.com

Created attachment 184525
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=184525=edit
Sample document that have two independent rows with numbers and sparkline

See attached spreadsheet.

In sparkline group editor, the "High points" is set to a black-like color.

However, it seems that the visible output on screen, that setting is ignored.
Instead of the bar representing the highest value (all negative, so the one
that i closest to zero must be regarded as "High value") being black (or any
color given) - it just remains the same color as for sparkline series.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152928] New: LibreOffice Draw View defaults to black and white, radio buttons show no enum active. Selecting color resolves issue. Reoccurs on next session.

2023-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152928

Bug ID: 152928
Summary: LibreOffice Draw View defaults to black and white,
radio buttons show no enum active. Selecting color
resolves issue. Reoccurs on next session.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: uozakik...@protonmail.com

Description:
When opening LibreOffice Draw new document or existing document, View operates
in black and white and the view menu the Color/Grayscale submenu shows no
selected radio button. Selecting color resolves the issue for that session,
however the issue reoccurs on next session.

Environment:
- 6.0.0-6-amd64 Debian 12 Bookworm 6.0.12-1 (2022-12-09) x86_64 GNU/Linux
- Gnome 43.1, X11 compositor.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Libreoffice Draw or launch it by opening an odg file.
2. Draw a filled shape and observe no fill color is visible due to view
operating in black and white mode.
3. Examine the view menu: Color/Grayscale submenu
4. Observe no selected radio button (despite black and white mode actually
being active).
5. Select Color
6. Issue resolved for that session.
7. Close LibreOffice draw
8. Launch LibreOffice draw - confirm regression of the setting to no radio
button selected and operation in black and white mode.

Actual Results:
View operates in black and white and the view menu the Color/Grayscale submenu
shows no selected radio button.

Expected Results:
Operate in color mode by default for new documents. Retain the last used view
setting per-document.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
Resetting the LibreOffice profile (by launching in a temporary environment
using '$soffice -env:UserInstallation=file:///tmp/test' did not resolve the

Hi, this is a video where its explained that in more than ten minures the
automatic save option doesnt do nothing (the indicator is the red point on the
save icon)
Only when I click over the save icon, the red point disappear, indicating that
the saving really happens, and that there is not danger if something happens
and lost unsaved changes
