[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146626] Crash in macOS Calc on font size operation on multi-monitor setup
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146626 --- Comment #27 from Patrick Luby --- (In reply to Emil Prpic from comment #26) > Created attachment 186696 [details] > Sample of LibreOffice (zipped) > > Here. Is this it? Yes. That is exactly what I was hoping to see. Your sample indicates that a native exception is being thrown and that uncaught exception causes the crash. Unfortunately, samples don't tell me what code threw the exception so I will try again and see if I can reproduce this bug in my local debug build. If I can reproduce in a debug build, hopefully I can use the debugger to stop where the exception is thrown. I will post again when I have some news. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92164] FILESAVE XLS Excessive number of rows warning (see comment 10)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92164 --- Comment #41 from ady --- (In reply to ady from comment #40) Sorry, we don't need any prior attachment either. 1. Open Calc. then. > 2. The rest is of course valid. > > With that, the message about too many columns for xls file format is > displayed once the file is saved for the first time with a new name. > > Note that no real action was performed on the file; only the entire row is > selected and a new name is used (in order to trigger the check and thus the > message). > > When only cell A1 has focus (so, no full row is selected), there is no > message. > > BTW, the title subject of this report is incorrect. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92164] FILESAVE XLS Excessive number of rows warning (see comment 10)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92164 --- Comment #40 from ady --- FWIW, I can get an even simpler test. 1. Open attachment 116681 [details] from comment 9. 2. Click on the _header_ for row 1 (> the _entire_ row 1 is selected) 3. Menu File > Save as > testB.xls (the name must change from the original). With that, the message about too many columns for xls file format is displayed once the file is saved for the first time with a new name. Note that no real action was performed on the file; only the entire row is selected and a new name is used (in order to trigger the check and thus the message). When only cell A1 has focus (so, no full row is selected), there is no message. BTW, the title subject of this report is incorrect. It is _not_ about too many rows, but about too many columns, and the only requirement is to have "too many columns selected by the time the file is saved as xls" in order to trigger the message. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144237] Enforce a sane minimum width on Linux
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144237 --- Comment #7 from Adalbert Hanßen --- (In reply to Stéphane Guillou (stragu) from comment #6) > I think we can mark this as a duplicate of bug 97894: having a minimum > window size on Linux should fix the issue described here. > Please set back to "new" if you disagree. > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 97894 *** I'm afraid you may be right about that. Unfortunately, 97894 is also a bug that has been waiting for an even longer time to be fixed. And comment 3 there seems to name also already a function which to call, only about the suitable minimum value Caolán McNamara was uncertain! BTW: #125543 also might be another candidate for duplicateship! I came across it searching how one would have to call SetMinOutputSizePixel to implement a minimum width of 5 cm as I proposed above. Unfortunately I found no description for SetMinOutputSizePixel. But searching for it I came across gtk_widget_set_size_request which has two parameters in pixels for width and height. Probably the screen's dpi-value can be read somehow, so 50.0*dpi/2.54 would be a proper minimum width, 8.0*dpi/2.54 would be a proper minimum height. Unfortunately I am not experienced enough to know where this call has to be placed -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Test A (as in comment 10): 1. Open attachment 116681 from comment 9. 2. Select rows _headers_ from row 1 to 10. 3. [CTRL]+[+] (> insert full rows) 4. [CTRL]+[Z] (> undo, the _entire_ rows from row 1 to 10 are still selected) 5. Menu File > Save as > testA.xls (> I get the message about too many columns for the xls file format). Test B (as in comment 10, but with small difference): 1. Open attachment 116681 from comment 9. 2. Select rows _headers_ from row 1 to 10. 3. [CTRL]+[+] (> insert full rows) 4. [CTRL]+[Z] (> undo, the _entire_ rows from row 1 to 10 are still selected) 5. [CTRL]+[HOME] (> no row is selected; only cell A1 has focus) 6. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154819 --- Comment #1 from ady --- In order to try and replicate the behavior... Does this happen when the cells contain Japanese characters only? Or, is this also happening with Latin characters too? Does it happen when cells have numbers only? Does it happen when cells contain formulas, not text? Does it happen only when the non-empty cells are all adjacent? Or, does it happen also when there are blank empty cells in between? Are the cells in question located in one column? Or, does it happen also when the cells are arranged in different columns? Perhaps adding to the report a simple sample ods file in order for others to reproduce the same behavior would help. For the US dictionary, you need to open a ticket in Kevin's GitHub: https://github.com/en-wl/wordlist However, years go by, and no updates are released for US (since he doesn't add the “words under the sun”). Maybe because you use Writer. I mostly use Calc, which has more (too many) Tabs to press until you reach that box, then press another key, which is enough to interrupt the workflow. Even today it’s risk free as the first assigned button is Search for next and not Replace as you suggest. But that statement is also not true, as with the replace field empty you can still delete your data if you inadvertently click the Replace all button. Anyway, as I said, it’s an interface quirkiness that no other software that I’m aware of chose. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

This is functional, both with mouse pointer and with keyboard selection. Also, it is risk free. It is annoying to have to reselect it again, especially since you can’t jump directly to the replace field with the keyboard to reselect the last item; it takes many Tab keys to access it. I’m surprised to see such behaviour in LO, as no other software that I’m aware of would hide the replace text only. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the Search & Replace popup window and run a replacement (A replaced by B). 2. Close the popup window. 3. Ctrl H again. Actual Results: See that A is proposed again for the search.
