Dear Harald Koester,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111753] Misbehavior of default formatting option used on Impress table

2023-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111753

Dear Tamás Zolnai,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154819] Cell-to-cell moving with cursor (arrow) keys does not work properly in 7.5.x on macOS.

2023-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154819

This phenomenon occurs regardless of the contents of the cells, even on a brand
new sheet. Just set the input mode to Japanese, and hold down an arrow key.
However, repeatedly tapping the arrow key successfully moves the active cell
one by one. The phenomenon only occurs when you keep an arrow key down
intending to move the active cell continuously.

Yes. That is exactly what I was hoping to see.

Your sample indicates that a native exception is being thrown and that uncaught
exception causes the crash. Unfortunately, samples don't tell me what code
threw the exception so I will try again and see if I can reproduce this bug in
my local debug build. If I can reproduce in a debug build, hopefully I can use
the debugger to stop where the exception is thrown.

I will post again when I have some news.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92164] FILESAVE XLS Excessive number of rows warning (see comment 10)

Sorry, we don't need any prior attachment either.

1. Open Calc. then.

3. [CTRL]+[S] as xls.

The rest is of course valid.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92164] FILESAVE XLS Excessive number of rows warning (see comment 10)

2023-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92164

FWIW, I can get an even simpler test.

1. Open attachment 116681 [details] from comment 9.
2. Click on the _header_ for row 1 (> the _entire_ row 1 is selected)
3. Menu File > Save as > testB.xls (the name must change from the original).

With that, the message about too many columns for xls file format is displayed
once the file is saved for the first time with a new name.

Note that no real action was performed on the file; only the entire row is
selected and a new name is used (in order to trigger the check and thus the
message).

When only cell A1 has focus (so, no full row is selected), there is no message.

BTW, the title subject of this report is incorrect. It is _not_ about too many
rows, but about too many columns, and the only requirement is to have "too many
columns selected by the time the file is saved as xls" in order to trigger the
message.

I'm afraid you may be right about that. Unfortunately, 97894 is also a bug that
has been waiting for an even longer time to be fixed. And comment 3 there seems
to name also already a function which to call, only about the suitable minimum
value Caolán McNamara was uncertain!

BTW: #125543 also might be another candidate for duplicateship! I came across
it searching how one would have to call SetMinOutputSizePixel to implement a
minimum width of 5 cm as I proposed above. Unfortunately I found no description
for SetMinOutputSizePixel. But searching for it I came across
gtk_widget_set_size_request which has two parameters in pixels for width and
height. Probably the screen's dpi-value can be read somehow, so 50.0*dpi/2.54
would be a proper minimum width, 8.0*dpi/2.54 would be a proper minimum height.
Unfortunately I am not experienced enough to know where this call has to be
placed

@gmarco,

I'd like to ask for confirmation of the following test(s).

Test A (as in comment 10):
1. Open attachment 116681 from comment 9.
2. Select rows _headers_ from row 1 to 10.
3. [CTRL]+[+] (> insert full rows)
4. [CTRL]+[Z] (> undo, the _entire_ rows from row 1 to 10 are still selected)
5. Menu File > Save as > testA.xls (> I get the message about too many columns
for the xls file format).

Test B (as in comment 10, but with small difference):
1. Open attachment 116681 from comment 9.
2. Select rows _headers_ from row 1 to 10.
3. [CTRL]+[+] (> insert full rows)
4. [CTRL]+[Z] (> undo, the _entire_ rows from row 1 to 10 are still selected)
5. [CTRL]+[HOME] (> no row is selected; only cell A1 has focus)
6. Menu File > Save as > testB.xls

With testA, I get the message about too many columns for the xls file format.

With testB, no such message.

@gmarco, Could you please confirm whether you experience the aforementioned
respective behaviors with each of these two tests?

In order to try and replicate the behavior...

Does this happen when the cells contain Japanese characters only?

Or, is this also happening with Latin characters too?

Does it happen when cells have numbers only?

Does it happen when cells contain formulas, not text?

Does it happen only when the non-empty cells are all adjacent? Or, does it
happen also when there are blank empty cells in between?

Are the cells in question located in one column? Or, does it happen also when
the cells are arranged in different columns?

Perhaps adding to the report a simple sample ods file in order for others to
reproduce the same behavior would help. You would probably want to eliminate
any private information before doing so.

Yes, Kevin Atkinson didn't add it to the US dictionary.

A few individuals complained that in the GB Dictionary I add “all words under
the sun”, but I have been checking word by word, adding possessives and all the
derivates I can find.

For the US dictionary, you need to open a ticket in Kevin's GitHub:
https://github.com/en-wl/wordlist

However, years go by, and no updates are released for US (since he doesn't add
the “words under the sun”).

Just my two cents.

Maybe because you use Writer. I mostly use Calc, which has more (too many) Tabs
to press until you reach that box, then press another key, which is enough to
interrupt the workflow.

Even today it’s risk free as the first assigned button is Search for next and
not Replace as you suggest.

But that statement is also not true, as with the replace field empty you can
still delete your data if you inadvertently click the Replace all button.

Anyway, as I said, it’s an interface quirkiness that no other software that I’m
aware of chose.

Looking at your 2 screenshots, it seems you don't use LibreOffice but Microsoft
Office since there's "Word".

Great! I suppose LO uses the extension to identify the type of file.

Sorry, not seeing the need.

On open the dialog, cursor focus is in the Find field

Three (to pass over find configuration check-boxes) to position to the
Replace field

Cursor (or up) to fill items from Replacement stack.

This is functional, both with mouse pointer and with keyboard selection.

Also, it is risk free. With nothing selected for the replacement string--no
inadvertent replacement can occur (necessitation UNDO if caught, or loss of
data if not).

I suppose we could refactor to optionally prefill the replace field--but it
would need to be off by default and an Expert configuration. Not clear it is
worth the effort or risk to the "Benjamin" users.

IMHO => WF

Renaming to .docx didn't work. I received these two alert messages (attached).
The .cwk worked great.

It wasn't clear to me how to rename my LO directory profile. My Mac OS is
13.3.1 (22E261)

Any thoughts on why I was able to open these types of files without adding the
.cwk on previous versions of your app?

Thanks - Lysa

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154831] New: Replace string is empty

2023-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154831

Bug ID: 154831
   Summary: Replace string is empty
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bugzi...@kgb.ovh

Description:
When you reopen the Search and Replace popup window, the last search item is
proposed again, but the last replace item field is empty.

It is annoying to have to reselect it again, especially since you can’t jump
directly to the replace field with the keyboard to reselect the last item; it
takes many Tab keys to access it.

I’m surprised to see such behaviour in LO, as no other software that I’m aware
of would hide the replace text only.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the Search & Replace popup window and run a replacement (A replaced by
B).
2. Close the popup window.
3. Ctrl H again.

Actual Results:
See that A is proposed again for the search.

Expected Results:
See that B is not proposed directly any more as replacement text. You have to
reselect it.

Reproducible: Always

Error is, that the shape is imported as Bezier curve although it is a preset
shape with prst="cloud" in file markup.

fileopen takes more than one minute to open an existing file. I go to another
program and use it while I am waiting. This occurs in both Windows 10 and 11.

'cloud' shape on Drawing Canvas

Open the attached documents. In one case the 'cloud' shape is inserted normally
and in the other case it is inserted into a Drawing Canvas. Notice, that in
case of the Drawing Case the rendering is wrong.

Drawing Canvas with fill

Open attached document. The Drawing Canvas should have a blue color. Because a
Drawing Canvas is imported as group and groups cannot have fill of its own,
there should be an additional rectangle for the background, similar as it is
done in case of SmartArt. Of cause, if there is no fill or stroke, then such
rectangle could be omitted.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154827] Regression in 7.5.x: Graphics anchored in Writer as character become anchored at paragraph when reopening the document

2023-04-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I forgot to mention an important point: this kind of SVG images and their
conversion to curve and anchoring as character are at the core of the TexMaths
extension. So, this regression affects the TexMaths extension in Linux.
